Well, I surely don't blame Sean Strickland in making his way to the top for money but upon going on a fight he should think that this will not last forever and it will not sustain his luxurious lifestyle just like Derrick Lewis that takes a profit and having a sponsor like Popeye is a great deal for him, because these things are not permanent they will  eventually be gone to them they should save a lot of their money and invest in different stuff that will last long but it is life and if he wants to fight that badly then it is his choice,

But taking that fight is pretty much crazy for Sean Strickland, and for the latest UFC now he is no Royce Gracie who could fight multiple fighters in a day and the level of UFC back then is way much different than the UFC now,


It was really brought up before that Conor McGregor will surely return to the UFC, but there is no news or even rumor about it when he will truly return, or if he's fighting Jake Paul in a boxing match, and Conor McGregor's ranking was thrown out by the UFC, he is now unranked in the UFC, but surely I think if he returns there will be curious people that might support him eventually and McGregor's persona is surely there to entertain and he is aware of that, that what he do is all because of fame and entertainment,


Past his prime, Yes! but if Charles Oliveira underestimated McGregor, Conor McGregor still can beat him in a fight so yes he can not surely underestimate McGregor for sure because in the past he surely know what McGregor can do, and Charles Oliveira if he ever going to take this fight for me I think it is just for the money, likely I want for him to try a least opponent that could take him again into a rematch with Islam Makhachev,

During the long break McGregor was not active in UFC matches he was still training consistently even he was still keeping his body strong and getting stronger.
So the long break that was taken by McGregor was not a reason that made sense when he lost against Khabib.
A fighting athlete, san he still has a contract in a big event, it is impossible when he is paused or not active in the match, he is used to have fun, other things that are not useful. In fact, he uses this break to always train and strengthen himself, but what he faces is Khabib is the strongest UFC fighter in his class.

I don't understand how "his fighting opponents outside of McGregor weren't too impressive" he was ready to fight against anyone.

But no one wanted to fight against him. Mostly because everyone feared him. Whoever fought against him was badly humiliated in the octagon. That also made other fighters not want to fight against him. And he has also fought against really good fighters like Michael Johnson, Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, Edson Barbosa, and others. Before every fight, his opponent was given good odds to win. But he made it look so easy that when he beat them, people started saying this was not a good matchup.

Yeah, and since he's the owner he doesn't necessarily need to be involved publicly. He could just run it from the background. Although, the organisation would probably benefit from Khabib being publicly involved. I don't think he's completely out of the picture in terms of MMA, but I wouldn't rule out a role with the UFC either. Just because he owns his own organisation, doesn't mean they have to be competitors.

He's a man of his word, despite what us fans want. You've got to respect his decision, and the ability to stick to that decision, as I bet he probably does miss competing.

Khabib's still owns his MMA organization called Eagle MMA, and nobody knows what is going to happen with that.
I understand coaching needs a lot of time and under his wing there was many fighters, so let's give him some time to rest and think about everything.
People can say whatever they want about Khabib but he showed to be man of his word, so I don't expect to see him back to coaching soon.
I want to see him stay in MMA sport in any way possible.

I imagine we'll still hear off Khabib now, and then. Retiring is fine, but it would be a shame to lose someone who's considered one of the best by many. I like Khabib, seems like a genuine bloke, and obviously had an incredible skill set. I don't need him to come back to the UFC or fighting for that matter, but I'd like to get his input on fights, and potentially have him involved in the commentary or wrestling inputs. I know his English isn't exactly commentating quality, but his insight into the wrestling exchanges would be incredible. A bit like Din Thomas is with reading the fights.

He's been putting on quite a bit of weight since retirement.  I think naturally he's a very big boy.  The amount of training and dieting he had to do to get into fighting shape and stay that way for so long was probably extremely difficult on him.  I don't think he'll be able to ever get back to that fighting shape now to be honest.  I also don't think he has any intention of trying to be a boxer, as he was a grappler and would probably get killed in a boxing match.  Now that he has seemingly retired from coaching as well, he'll probably continue to fade away until he is no longer mentioned, as his fighting opponents to me outside of McGregor weren't too impressive.

Sound like a nice way to retire and just keep himself out of the public. He promised to retire and so he did. We may have to forget about him getting back inside the cage. He has nothing to prove anyway even his best protege Islam proved it also.

The same result also if Connor fights Khabib, he might be able to make a career in boxing like Silva and perhaps Logan will be able to hype thier fight on PFL.

Khabib is probably going to take himself absolutely away from the fighting. Now it is a little hard to say that Islam Makhachev is still going to be as effective as before even without Khabib. After all, he was a great inspiration for Islam Makhachev. And the support he can give to Islam Makhachev from the side of the octagon is absolutely unbelievable.

As far as I know and remember Khabib did say that he was going to do business with sheep and other animals as well when he retired. I am not going to be surprised if he has some kind of business like with sheep and vegetables which is actually quite big.

That Khabibs coaching retirement has spoiled all my plans Few weeks ago I have placed a bet on Makhachev vs Volkanovski fight (try to guess my bet lol). Now, as Khabib is no longer behind gaming controller and does not manage Makhachev in a "video game", I am a bit worried of loosing my money (I wonder of bookies have corrected their odds). ^  Lol yup.  He'll prolly leave it to his son if he wants to compete professionally in MMA.  In some of Khabib's interviews, he said that it wasn't totally his decision when he competed in MMA professionally.  It was mostly because of his dad.  So go figure.

Anyway as for the last minute change for the match up...  I kinda like it.  And it's a good opportunity for Imavov to show that he belongs.  Not sure if he gets to enter top 5 at 185 tho as it's going to be in 205.  All in all, I think the UFC should just give him the rank.

Hard to believe he completely quits sport. I think he will keep on training with same guys. He will be like his father, after ending fighting career, coaching entire life. I cant imagine him becoming a businessman, running, company, production, sitting in the office. I think he will always be in fighting. As a manager, promotor.

Spending time with family is great, but he has already told that he will send his son to wrestling section When the interviewer asked if he has found already a proper coach, he has said that he will train him. Doubt that he will train him just to be fit and NOT becoming a worlds champion.

Connor McGregor was 2 years inactive in MMA when he fought Khabib Nurmagomedov. I think he was an underdog already when he faced Khabib. I am not saying Connor will beat Khabib but it could be different if he was active and not from that long layoff and the huge humiliation when he was just toyed by Floyd Mayweather before being stopped in a boxing match.

Nevertheless, Connor has always had a place in the UFC whether he returns or not. Either he faces a newly signed beatable weak fighter, Connor will be entertained by Dana as always. Even Connor's tune-up with 100 years old Cerrone was top 5 in UFC PPV buys history. Connor owns 8 out of the top 10 UFC PPV buys.

^ Conor McGregor is well past his prime. So I do not think it will be any problem for Charles Oliveira to beat Conor McGregor. But of course, he cannot underestimate Conor McGregor.

Anyway, of course, Conor McGregor is a rich fighter. And he can always find his way to have a higher rank match that he probably does not deserve at this time. But it is not going to mean anything if he cannot win. And Charles Oliveira also probably has the mindset that if Conor McGregor can bring good pay-per-view, Charles will also be able to get a good amount of money from this fight.



^ If that is actually some kind of infection, I think it will be great for fighters to not fight with him, to be honest. And I do not think of this time Conor McGregor is actually talking shit. I think for this instance Conor McGregor is actually serious. We know that any fungal infection can be easily spread. If this is actually a fungal infection, he should get it cured right away.

I don't know when McGregor will start competing again in the UFC. I don't know what is clear. McGregor's fans have started to decrease for now, and McGregor's opponent Khabib Nurmagomedov has retired from the UFC free-wrestling world and has even decided not to be a coach anymore.
So I think that in the next UFC match, if McGregor competes, he will not be as exciting as when he fought against Khabib, because in my opinion while watching the UFC fight, McGregor's fight with Khabib is the most thrilling and very exciting to watch, where Khabib fights with great anger. smoldering and the only match that Khabib experienced with vengeance in his heart.

Strickland was not much different from Gastelum in terms of weight and height, so Imavov had a hard time learning Strickland's fighting style and signature attacks in a short time, neither of them had enough training time to analyze his opponent's abilities. Strickland is so dominant have more wins than Imavov but Strickland has 2 humiliating defeats in his career after talking crap before the fight, he has to improve his fight history for his future career and he has to win for him to be proud after the fight.

the reality is that in the beginning these fighters accept to fight for money in order to survive, they don't have the money to buy a house, luxury cars, airplanes, golf courses, tennis courts... but after they win many fights they start to make a lot of money, enough money for them to live well for many years, but what happens is the following when a fighter reaches the top he becomes the center of attention and with that he becomes very sought after by big companies to sponsor him or for him to do part of advertising for these companies

and the fighter begins to have a lifestyle that is excessively spent in order to remain in the spotlight, it happens that if the fighter stops fighting and other fighters start to appear who call a lot of attention, then the fighter with a luxury life needs to fight again and manage to win more attention and at this level the fighter is not fighting for money to live, he is fighting to have more money to sustain his luxury

Gastelum is a different fighter compared to Strickland which Imavov had prepared to fight.  3 days of preparation for the next fight is very short but when opportunity knocks, it's best to take it before someone else takes it. It may still be unpredictable but Imanov is already conditioned.

HE is already on short notice so it's hard for Strickland's situation that he might focus more on weight than on his game strategy. Very risky but would be satisfying if he proves himself.

What do you think guys about that red dot on Gastelums face? That does not look like a mark from a punch or kick, definitely not a bruise or cut. Does not look like a pimple either. Conor McGregor in reply to Gastelums twitter picture replied that this is staphylococcus infection. That thing is sticky. I would not fight a sweaty guy with that crap. Anyway, Kelvin has got his teeth fixed already and soon will be ready to fight.

It's closer that what most of the fans expect.  I think the lines give an accurate view of each fighter's value in this match up.  Remember, it's gonna be at 205..  And you know me when I try to look at these guys' match ups, I know Strickland lost a couple matches straight but look at those guys he lost to.  One is just became the current champ at 185 and the other one is a middle weight beast.  No shame in losing to both fighters.  The pick is still Imavov but he's way down in my lottery ticket.  It's a big test for him.
