I'm more excited to see Diaz than Chimaev as Chimaev's stock went down when he fought Burns imho.  Watch this...
I'd agree, but I actually think Burns is underrated, he was giving Usman problems, right up until he discovered Burns doesn't like the jab. Honestly, I see Burns getting the belt if he can sort out that jab issue he has. He probably has some of the most lethal ground game in the division, and he can bang.

Chimaev, I'm not actually a fan of, but I think he makes a mockery of Diaz. I probably won't be betting on that fight, since the odds will be absolutely awful, unless you're going for Diaz. I'm just not convinced Diaz has it in him.
No, I don't think so too. If the fight will end in a stand-up fight Diaz will just have a sore face and body with the added loss.
The only chance I could see is thru submission which will be a difficult task to achieve when fighting Chimaev because no one had successfully managed to take him down yet.
Then, if ever by some miracle it does happen, Nate has to worry about the counter with Chimaev having the same skills in submission.
A win from Nate here will almost look like how Edwards won. Unexpected.

What Luke Rockhold did was reminding of the movie Fight Club hehehe. Watch what Tyler Durden was doing to the man after his face was beaten bloody.
I forgot about this scene but it looks very similar, and maybe he watched this famous movie before and he was inspired doing this.  Smiley

Amazing moment of history, and I managed to fall asleep! I'm interested to see how Usman performs after this. Never been knocked out I believe? That can make a fighter a little more cautious going forward, and Usman wasn't much of a risk taker to begin with. Are we going to see a more wrestling dominant approach from him from now on?
There are already talks of next fight going to be rematch and bookmakers set Usman as heavy favorite.
I think he learned his lesson and he won't allow mistakes happening again, but I have to give credits to Leon for that amazing kick that switched Usman light off.
Main advantage for Leon was his great coaching team, he even said after the fight how he was down but got inspired with coach speech and gave his best.

The difference in weight is really scary. Nate Diaz doesn't stand a chance, we all know that if only something more balanced had been arranged. He was self-critical in the Gilbert Burns match. Khamzat was not in my right mind, he just made speeches like I wanted to attack etc. He already had the danger of knockout 1-2 places in that match. Now in the Nate match, I think he's going to grinding him using his full forward and wrestling, he won't want it to take too long. Nate fights to the end, but how long will be enough is a mystery.
Nate is a good fighter who fights well in 5 round fights, he knows how to distribute forces, but the problem is that this fight will not last 5 rounds, Chimaev will fly at him with a hurricane of blows and this fight will be over quickly. Of course, Nate may surprise everyone, but Chimaev is the clear favorite in this fight. The UFC is cool in that anyone can win here, but in this fight, Chimaev's advantage is too big.

I'm looking forward to the Chimaev vs Diaz fight. Goosebumps. Chimaev is crazy and i think Chimaev will dominate in every match he fights. However as the fight dragged on i observed Chimaev falling out of shape. If Diaz manages to prolong the fight i think he has a chance. But i did not see anyone who could stop Chimaev. I'm looking forward to the fight of the two madmen. I hope they meet each other at the press conference.

I'm more excited to see Diaz than Chimaev as Chimaev's stock went down when he fought Burns imho.  Watch this...

But it's gonna be a lopsided match up with all the advantages going to Chimaev's way.  I mean Diaz is really just a 155'er.  Chimaev is the bigger guy who can fight in both 170 and 185.  So yeah...  Chim is prolly gonna rag doll Diaz in the cage for the first couple of minutes before finding the finish.  Dunno..  We've been surprised a whole lot before.  Just last weekend we've been surprised.  Cheesy

Robert Whittaker versus Marvin Vettori will be a fight to watch for aswell After Vettori's good performance against a heavy Paulo Costa, I want him to be fitted to a speedy fighter and I think Whittaker can make a calculative maneuver engaging Vettori

Great fight to watch. I believe the winner of that fight will next face the looser of Adesanya vs Pereira fight and will have another attempt for a title. If it would be Adesanya, then we will see a trilogy, another... UFC Middleweight division looked boring until Pereira entered title race. All the top fights were rather obvious.

We have an update in pound-for-pound rating. Volkanovski is first, Leon Edwards is on 6th place.

I think Gane is going to take Tuivasa skull. As usually Shoeyvasa gonna rush and rely on his chin, but he will be punished for that. No beer from the shoe this time. Gane seems to be more technician than Tai.

there will be edwards vs kamaru III as said by Mr White in an interview. imo kamaru doesn't need a tuneup for them to clash again. hope they'd be back in just 2-3 months already. karamu vowed to kill him, this time the odds may be better and i'm still going for kamaru.

time to really bet huge in Adesanya vs Pereira match. i'm for izzy. hoping he could really make it this time around, overcoming this guy for once. Pereira serves as a boggeyman of izzy for a longtime.

I think Gane is going to take Tuivasa skull. As usually Shoeyvasa gonna rush and rely on his chin, but he will be punished for that. No beer from the shoe this time. Gane seems to be more technician than Tai.

obviously with Tuivasa's knockout rate, he is also a tough fighter. he's got a change if he can prevent Gane bringing it to a ground fight.

Edit:  Sucks.  It's on the next weekend after the coming weekend.  :/

Yeah! it will be a good event for me I am really more excited about the main event if Cyril Gane is really good with his technical game then Tai Tauvasa will be an easy challenge for him, Robert Whittaker versus Marvin Vettori will be a fight to watch for aswell After Vettori's good performance against a heavy Paulo Costa, I want him to be fitted to a speedy fighter and I think Whittaker can make a calculative maneuver engaging Vettori, Robert Whittaker Versus John Makdessi I think will be a wild fight, but I am still accessing what may happen with the fight and a fighting Kitten Ailin Perez will have a debut for this event for the UFC,

My dog does the same when he is happy to see me Cheesy

What Rockholds was thinking when he did that? Tried to close Costa eyes with blood? Should have used punches instead to create bruises or bloody face Cheesy Not only that move looked stupid, but he could infect Costa with some crap. Thanks God Costa has "secret juice" (have you seen his move Fuck USADA during weight ins?) and alcohol (even though wine usually have low spirit percentage) to disinfect possible virus.

Luke Rockhold must be in a state of desperation for doing things like that or he is frustrated about something for doing that to Costa, and Paulo Costa eventually stands up in disgust at what he has in his face, it was funny to see him making that kind of face, saying why did Rockhold do it, and Lucy, Rockhold's dog was certainly is following Rockhold when he calls her, it was an amazing dog actually,

You can be sure that it will be a one-sided fight, Khamzat Chimaev will be a dominant force facing Nate Diaz, but Diaz will surely take a drug that may numb his nerves from getting hurt from those shots maybe he could win this fight but I think it will be a prohibition of such things and after the fight, he would surely have a bad record about it but knowing Nate Diaz he could still pull that off, and just like Costa he could say F*ck USADA aswell,

I think Rockhold finished his carrier in a style, and he did that to piss of Costa.

From biology lessons from school, I remember that chances of getting hepatitis B blood contact are rather high. Different sources give different results, but on average chances are around 30%. Would be stupid to get sick due to Rockholds goodbye move Cheesy

Back to UFC 278. Usman post in his media, that he wants a rematch. That would be logical and I think Dana will try to organize that, because Usman was winning that fight ( I know some people even turn off their TVs after round 4, because he was clearly winning). However Edwards wants to give Nate Diaz a chance for a title shot if he beats Chimaev. Either trolling wants and easy fight/revenge for that 1-2 Nates combo in 5th round.

I think so. Although, Leon had him on the ground a few times which to be honest I was a little surprised by. Even if Usman dominated up until the point of getting knocked out, you've got to give Leon the credit for still threatening with his kick boxing.

Two fighters unofficially retired from UFC after this weekend, that is Luke Rockhold 37 years and Jose Aldo 35 years.
Both of them are amazing and they had fantastic fights in their carrier but I think it's correct for them to stop fighting at this point.
I will always remember how Luke Rockhold smearing his blood all over Costa face  Cheesy

So Aldo too, that's expected from the performance he did.
Quote
“When he was down and I [went] to shake his hand and tell him, ‘Thank you so much for the fight,’ and I go to respect him, he was down, and I tried to help him, and he was telling me, he said, ‘That means this is my last fight, because it was my last run to title,’” Dvalishvili said. “And then he said, ‘I guess I’m done.’

There's no clear retirement but according to what he said to Dvalishvili, it's almost like giving up. Well, he did great in his past reign as a champion so it's not that bad to rest now at his age. He won't do much with just being in a defensive stance like what happened against Dvalishvili. As a big fan of Aldo, I am not used to watching him like that.

Rockhold though clearly said it during the interview with Joe Rogan.
He admitted he is old and cannot do it anymore.

Also, did anyone bet on Leon Edwards? I speculate during the rematch he might not be very underestimated anymore...
I doubt there is anybody here that took a bet on Edwards. I would've rather bet on the two Colby fights and Gilbert Burns than Edwards. Maybe it's just me but I felt like Edwards does not have the confidence to rule a division for long. He is good but somewhat reserved. But he's got a very good team. I love how his team especially his coach tried to empower and bring that fire in him when he was feeling lost and demoralized already.

That shocking knockout will probably give Usman some mental effects like Anderson Silva many years ago.

lol you really have a different view of it. its just gross to see him deliberately wiping the blood to Costa's face. its disgusting. although we get use to seeing them not just in MMA where they are spitting all over the place, it looks gross doing it.

He can manage to prolong the fight. He is definitely one of the most durable fighters in the UFC even at his age. The only was I see Chimaev stopping him is by submission.

But i did not see anyone who could stop Chimaev.
Well, Nate still has the arsenal to upset anyone. The question here is if he's motivated enough to win and I'm not sure about that now. In his fight with Edwards, he had a chance to finish him but I was surprised he paused and taunted which gave Leon few seconds. In case he hurts Chimaev, I think he'll do the same as the previous fight.

Wha?  Aldo too?  Man...  I guess it's time.  But he's been looking good at 135 except for 278 and the match vs Yan.  It would've been nice if he would go for it one more time.  He could beat Dvashjsja..  Let's call him Merab.  Aldo could def beat Merab on a good day.  It's just Aldo didn't fight like he usually does against him at 278.  It was weird.

Leon Edwards showed his comeback in the fifth round after Usman took control of the scorecard dominance from the previous few rounds, I almost celebrated Usman's victory in the fifth round but who knows if 60 seconds could have changed the world, Leon Edwards threw his deadly kick at Usman's head until he knocked him down and the referee also stopped the fight for Leon Edwards with a TKO victory. The match was incredible even though Usman failed to defend the title, so congratulations to Leon Edwards on an incredible win in UFC title fight history.

Pretty much Leon Edwards has failed to be dominant towards Usman like what he did in the 1st round, his ground game was superb and pretty much Kamaru Usman had a hard time getting out from those leg lock pretty much after that Leon Edwards just forget about their game plan and that is how Kamaru Usman dominated the 3 next rounds, so for me, there will definitely a rematch in the making, Kamaru Usman will not let his belt stay on Leon Edwards for soo long, he will surely try and take it back,

Next UFC event now that everyone is exploring other memes of Kamaru Usman on the web, right now on the next event we will  have an exciting match and that is the
