It was shocking and he was under treatment for over a year and there were rumors about his health when he pulled out of the title fight against Vadim Nemkov last year and when asked during an interview regarding the fight schedule Scott Coker even mentioned that health is important than a title fight and Anthony Johnson even said in one of his comments in instagram that he is not suffering from cancer to one of the query a few months back.

I shared my view regarding the match and i expected Alex Pereira defeating Israel Adesanya simply because of his striking skills and his past two wins against him and the reason is i expecting this fight to be a stand up contest and even in the Kickboxing bouts Israel Adesanya was dominating just before he got knocked out cold in the second fight and the first fight was really competitive and with small gloves things are different in MMA.  

Israel Adesanya really surprised me when he took the fight to the ground and the recovery of Alex Pereira after getting beat down and gassed out, he came back in the fifth round as a fresh fighter which was weird and astonishing at the same time, how can he recover this quickly. I am not expecting anything different in the second fight either unless Israel Adesanya decides to take the fight to the ground all the time. Styles makes fights and i think Robert Whittaker and Marvin Vettori can defeat Alex Pereira simply because of their superior ground game and Alex Pereira has a terrible defensive game in the ground.

Yeah, I very much doubt Lewis is going to show a different side to himself this late on in their career. He's a good knockout artist, and I personally believe he's beaten fighters better than Spivak.

As for Chimaev, and Colby I don't really have any interest in any of them. I know that might seem odd to say since Chimaev did look the real deal against Burns, despite being tested. I just can't seem to back him in any of the fights, and his personality doesn't really help him either. He's a bit like Mayweather, you watch him because you want to see him lose. I think a Burns rematch, and he loses, but that's just me.

Many have surely missed the UFC 281 giving their thoughts and some maybe still are just watching the fight right now but in my case, I was really amazed at both fighters especially how much knowledge of MMA Israel Adesanya has shown that is why in their next rematch there are rumors that Alex Pereira will still be an underdog unless he would train in preparation on the ground,

For me no doubt Sergey Spivak will win this against Derrick Lewis, but if Lewis will show signs that he can be technical in a fight and not the usual him inside the Octagon then fans will surely think twice, but for now, Sergey Spivak will surely win this like the way he won against Tai Tuivasa,


Well, we will see, if he would do something like that in a staredown and there is no one doing like that but him, the fierce look and even depicted the Hulkling, not the Hulk, in my opinion,

For Lewis and Spivak definitely, Lewis will have a hard time against Spivak for sure, when against a bulldozer its weakness will be the technical approach of Spivak for sure,

Khamzat Chimaev VS Colby Covington is really going to happen what I like is a Khamzat Chimaev VS Alex Pereira fight Chimaev is constantly making a statement that he wants to fight whoever is available at the moment,

In light of my previous post, if you fancy a proper gamble then the fight going the distance is priced at 6.00, although I do find it hard to think that Lewis lasts the full five rounds on his feet if he can't put Spivak out early. Lewis priced at 2.87 for a knock out is pretty nice considering his record. I'd probably go for the distance if it was a three round fight, but five rounds is a long time for these hard hitters. No point going for the bet of it not going the distance since that's only priced at 1.12 which probably gives you an idea of what everyone is expecting.

I'm tempted at 6.00 .

The loss of Adesanya is still hard to forget. Up to this day, the trolling on Izzy-Alex youtube video keeps coming.

It's still a breathtaking fight whenever is Derrick on. It's either him or his opponent that lies on the ground. Compare to Derrick, Spivak is a light-footed big man though. I say the fight will likely end in the 1st round by Spivak.
Waldo Cortes-Acosta is an exciting boxer in MMA.

For main event, I've got Lewis. Although, he's suffered some defeats as of recent, and I believe his last fight was against ol' shoey right? Where he got knocked out pretty badly with that elbow. Not sure if that's going to effect him going into this fight. I've never truly been convinced by Spivak, and I know Lewis could knock out anyone in the division given the chance. The safer bet honestly might be the fight not going the distance, but I haven't checked the odds on that. I do find the value bets with heavyweights is betting on it to go the distance.

Without politics, I would also like the UFC to sign Vakhitov too. But the guy probably needs MMA experience first before getting a title shot. Maybe putting him in the supporting bouts of Alex Pereira's title defenses would create hype and demand. I think 3 MMA solid wins and Vakhitov should be ready against Pereira who's not keen on ground fighting anyways, so it'll be a kickboxing fight most of the time.   

In the meantime, are we expecting an immediate rematch here?

Whatever it was, Pereira was able to get to the championship fight and become a champion in just a few fights, this is a big surprise, but it happened. There is a lot of hype around the fight, but there can be no debate, Pereira deservedly won, he was more active the whole fight, he tried to attack and Adesanya stuck to his tactics, waiting for his moment, but this time luck was not on his side. Even before this fight, many criticized Adesanya for such tactics, but he was the champion and therefore he was right, now everything can change.

Do you think Ion Cuțelaba gonna make his usual "shout on opponent" during staredowns ?

I think I am gonna watch main event and Cutelaba fight. This is going to be a hard (mentally) fight for Lewis. Spivak isnt easy opponent. Lewis has a series of two losses.

Some news: It was said Chimaev next opponent is going to be Covington, but he has signed the contract yet. Dana White said, that UFC matchmakers are considering Shavkat Rakhmonov to be Chimaev next opponent then, but they havent decided yet, should Rakhmonov have one more fight before facing Chimaev or not.

^  And on a lower tier match up, it could also happen to Sergei Spivak this weekend.  I got Spivak to win but we just never know with Lewis and he did it before...  It could also happen just like the one vs Volkov imho.  

Anyway let's move forward, who do you guys got this weekend?  It looks like everybody is still hung over 281 as the discussion still won't go away from the event.  Lol.  At first glance I think the most likely winners who could make a decent 5 leg parlay are Turcios, Johns, Johnson, Don Anjos and Pearce.  That would be around 6.45 or something close to it.

About Israel Adesanya and injury. In post fight interviews Israel say that he was injured during the fight. Specifically - leg injury, probably something with joints or nerve issue. Adesanya says, that he wasnt injured before, and did not understand how to act. So he decided to get back to fence and survive or hide legs from low kicks. That can be true, that can be not, but the result of their fight is known.

As I have said it was for health protocol, and I should have clarified that it was a medical suspension and not just only Adesanya but 19 fighters in the event were given a medical suspension to recuperate from the fight, and if you want to read it here in the Article, and what Adesanya has shown on the fight could be his triumph card against Alex Pereira, but surely a rematched is fitted for these two fighters,


Well, it really happens It happened to Kamaru Usman, against Leon Edwards, and Edwards like Pereira would just need 1 round to finish the fight, there is no immortal fighter in the UFC, there would be a better fighter that will surely emerge to get that title from a known fighter that many surely think will win, and that Israel Adesanya VS Alex Pereira have provided us with good entertainment and that is what's important, for me both fighters really did win it, and there is no doubt about that,

Even though they brought in Alex Pereira to kick the ass of Israel Adesanya, it was very close that he was about to get his own ass kicked, lol. We all know that Israel Adesanya was ahead in terms of score. And if the error by Israel Adesanya did not happen, I feel the fight could very well have ended the other way. I think we are very likely to see a rematch very soon between these two fighters. And a lot of people might also say that it was an early stoppage but I think it was a very appropriate stoppage. Otherwise, Israel Adesanya might actually have a long-term injury.



I think bringing in the Russian guy is likely to be beneficial for the UFC. Because bringing him in is almost certain to create controversy, and that will ultimately result in more pay-per-view. Since a lot of people are saying that they put in Alex Pereira to beat Israel Adesanya, it will be more interesting if they call in Vakhitov because people might say that he was brought in to beat Alex Pereira.

That's true and Alex Pereira is the only guy who has ever beaten in kick boxing...  Twice!  And now in MMA too.  After everything and all the talk, Pereira proved that it was no fluke.  It's now Adesanya's turn to prove if he's really the best in 185.

I think Pereira could even move up to 205 and be double champ.  It could happen if Glover Teixeira loses vs Jiri Prochazka next month.  :/  And Pereira has been training with Teixeira too.

Yeah, but that's absolutely fine in my opinion. Some fighters do have another persons number. While, Alex likely will struggle against a lot of the contenders in the division, since they'll be much better at wrestling than Israel is. Alex is probably one of the most dangerous kickboxing fighters in the game, and Izzy is probably the most technical. Unfortunately, for Izzy that muscle, and power seems to beat technique when it comes to him, and Alex. I'm fine with that, I don't blame Izzy whatsoever he actually put on a good show. He wasn't too shy, and actually landed more than Alex. Plus, he did rock Alex so it wasn't like his fights of recent where he's just looking to point fight.

Ultimately, kickboxing Alex is just not a good idea, and unfortunately that's where Izzy is strongest. I mean, we all saw it, Alex was absolute huge. Even the commentators pointed it out, since it was just so obvious how much weight he actually cuts, because he was much bigger in pretty much every single way compared to Izzy.

Yeah, I had around a return of 2k riding on my accumulator which Izzy was included on. Fortunately for my appreciation of Izzy, Reyes ruined it beforehand so the pressure was off. I did say I'd probably have a little salt left in my mouth if it was Izzy that close to winning the fight.

This will certainly surprise a lot of people because I think most people thought that Israel Adesanya is going to win this fight against Alex Pereira. I am quite sure that he was a hit in terms of score. And if this was not a knockout, I am also quite sure that Israel Adesanya would have won the fight.

But that one slip in the fifth round cost him the fight. At the end of the day, it does not matter who was the head on the scoreboard. Israel Adesanya got knocked out and lost because of that. That is the end of the story. And currently, there is a lot of controversy going on about this fight. But I have not seen anything about any Ban anywhere.

Yeah, Alex Pereira is indeed a huge guy in his weight even during his kickboxing days. Israel Adesanya's advantage is his experience in MMA and as I predicted earlier, he cannot easily impose the ground game because it is obvious that Poatan is the bigger and the stronger fighter just like what happened when they fought twice in kickboxing.

Adesanya already cleared the division before but he also became boring in his fights. I think it started when he lost to Jan Błachowicz and he felt that he needs to play it safe for longevity. Dana White as a businessman has to do something of course. Although I do not think the UFC signed Pereira just because of Adesanya as its champ. Pereira is a 2 division champion in Glory and the UFC as the biggest MMA organization has been watching him for years. Pereira's contract probably expired and he seemed annoyed losing a controversial rematch to Artem Vakhitov.

Now Poatan has to deal with contenders that already lost to Adesanya. But he seemed beatable by Robert Whittaker. Khamzat Chimaev probably needs 1 or 2 fights in this division to get his shot. But I won't be surprised if Artem Vakhitov once free from any contracts will get signed by the UFC soon. Artem Vakhitov is a Russian though, dunno if the UFC is keen on signing another Russian unless the fight in Ukraine ends.

I have not yet seen this news about suspension for 60 days anywhere. Yes, the revenge will be interesting to watch, but in general the fight will most likely be the same, Adesanya will wait for his chance if Pereira allows him to do it, now he has already realized that he has a clear advantage in close fight, and he will try to take advantage of this. Adesanya said before the fight that it was personal to him, perhaps this was what prevented him from winning.

A theory that might be right.
They are going to lose customers if they cannot entertain it anymore and the odds will always be for Adesanya if it's just a rematch from a former defeated fighter. Either in PPV, tickets, or gambling, there would be no profits in it so adding spice to the game will be the key to making it exciting once again.
And then here shows a fighter who once defeated him. Most just didn't expect it would go that far as winning, better, TKO.
I think the number of gamblers who lost their bet on that match proves how much we expect Adesanya to win.
Dana White is good at doing his job. The middleweight is loud again.

Pereira's build looks heavy, a strong wrestler or take-down specialist will be essential to defeating him.

I have read a very weird theory, that Alex Pereira was signed from kickboxing into UFC to add more excitement to middleweight. Because Adesanya has kicked everyones ass there, and fighting second or third time with his fighting style would ruin interest to that division. Any decent fighter that has wrestling skills would submit Pereira. He has done his mission - removed current king. Now it is Adesanyas time to regain belt back. Pereira would lost belt in next title defence, Adesanya would have 1-2 fights before he regain belt back.
