Tell you what..  Let's have a friendly bet.  If ever a third match between Nunes and Pena is organized by the UFC this year and if I'm still in a sig campaign, I'll pay you 20 bucks if Pena wins and if Nunes wins you put 'tokeweed is a UFC betting GOD' in your personal text.  Cheesy

I think that's a fair enough bet between two regs of the UFC info and prediction thread.

But really, I don't think a third match will be made by the UFC.  I heard that Pena has been campaigning for a third match in Rogan.  And she's been saying Nunes is a 'coward' if she doesn't take it.  Cheesy  I dunno man..  Pena drank her own kool aid after the first fight, now she's all just crazy talk.

I will not argue that you really are a UFC betting GOD, but I will not put it on my Personal Text, but I can always put it in my post as a (NOTE:) that you are indeed a UFC betting GOD,

Well, I guess we will not see any Nunes VS Peña this year for a while, and right now because of the event UFC 277 recently they said they will suspend a list of fighters that compete in the UFC 277 because of certain injuries sustained and this is the list of them, courtesy of MMA Junkie:

  • Amanda Nunes: Suspended 45 days
  • Julianna Pena: Suspended 60 days
  • Brandon Moreno: Suspended 45 days
  • Kai Kara France: Suspended 60 days
  • Sergei Pavlovich: Suspended 30 days
  • Derrick Lewis: Suspended 30 days
  • Alexandre Pantoja: Suspended 7 days
  • Alex Perez: Suspended 7 days
  • Magomed Ankalaev: Suspended 7 days
  • Anthony Smith: Suspended 30 days
  • Alex Morono: Suspended 10 days
  • Matthew Semelsberger: Suspended 14 days
  • Drew Dober: Suspended 30 days
  • Rafael Alves: Suspended 60 days
  • Hamdy Abdelwahab: Suspended 30 days
  • Don’Tale Mayes: Suspended 10 days
  • Drakkar Klose: Suspended 30 days
  • Rafa Garcia: Suspended 10 days
  • Michael Morales: Suspended 60 days
  • Adam Fugitt: Suspended 30 days
  • Joselyne Edwards: Suspended 10 days
  • Ji Yeon Kim: Suspended 30 days
  • Nicolae Negumereanu: Suspended 7 days
  • Ihor Potieria: Suspended 60 days
  • Orion Cosce: Suspended 10 days
  • Mike Mathetha: Suspended 10 days

Well, fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them a go signal, well this kind of suspension is just a precaution just to be safe,

Thanks for fair offer, but win or lose I won't write on my profile that you or anyone else in forum is a God  Smiley
My counter offer if third fight is set to happen this year, we can talk in private and set exact terms and public bet for winner.
We can set exact amount of money, maybe 50 or 100 USD worth of Bitcoin directly sent to your wallet or Sportsbet account.
Do you agree?

I actually missed a lot of the last card because of life. So, I'll be rewatching it before this weekends event, and I'll give my two cents, since it seems some betting veterans are divided on the opinion above, which tells me it was some fight.
Main event deserved to be watched again, but I would recommend that you should check out Brandon Moreno vs Kai Kara-France.
That can serve you as small warm up for this weekend upcoming fight card.

I believe the speculation was that Nunes was distracted due to other things going on in her life, I believe at that time she was just returning after giving birth?
I don't think Amanda Nunes was ever pregnant so there was nothing to recover from.
Nina Ansaroff had baby and father was some donor.

In december 2021, when Pena won, it was one of the biggest UFC upsets, as Pena was one of the biggest underdogs with +7 odds, and she has managed to win. Back in December, when Nunes lost, she did not looked like she was totally declassed. Since then, both Pena and Nunes did not have other fights, and now you are discussing like both are identically skilled, both had chances to win, both has strong sides. How can in half a year, a total underdog with +7 odds turned into a being close to a champion? Did Pena improved that much or Nunes became worse? Or women UFC is very unstable ? Cheesy
I believe the speculation was that Nunes was distracted due to other things going on in her life, I believe at that time she was just returning after giving birth? I'm not sure what sort of impact that might've had, but it's probably worth considering.

Anyhow, they're both clearly skilled, and if they matched up 10 times in a row, you'd likely see both fighters get a fair share of wins. That's MMA for you. Boxing is totally different, but that's why you see odds like 1.01 to 15.00. You don't get that in MMA, especially the UFC. So, of course anyone on the day is capable of winning. I do believe though, that Nunes gets the better of Pena in the majority of those fights. At least at their current levels.

Nunes is just better everywhere and she made it very clear that the loss was a fluke.  I'd bet my left nut that another match up with Nunes would be the same as what we just saw last weekend.  I mean what was everybody expecting?
Are you open to make a public bet with me about this, if fight is announced for end of this year?
I think you didn't watch this and previous fight very carefully when you can say something like this, and I am confident Nunes won't win the third fight.
This fight was won only because of good tactics made from Nunes teams, but it's going to be much more on Pena side and she is now more experienced.
Time to forget about this tow for some time, next event is starting in few days and I need to check the updates Smiley

You for a fact opened this thread and made it to  more than 300 pages sounds like a UFC betting GOD already. But sure that's a good friendly bet for you both.
I also thought that Pena can redo what she did by gassing out Nunes and then keep throwing her jabs. In the 2nd fight however she isn't effective. I thought she learn the jabs like how Moreno can do that almost can't be seen coming.

UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Hill cards is uninteresting to me. I'd just skip this one but will be watching still.

I had Nunes going into the fight, and I generally think she's the most rounded of the two fighters, that's obviously not saying that Pena is in any way bad at what she does. Nunes has just been so dominant for so long, it's hard to discount her, when she's just lost recently, and obviously won again on the weekend.

^  I think the UFC was setting it up during the first match up between Nunes and Pena...  Harrison was at the audience and I think carrying her belt.  Lol.  Typical..  Maybe there was a dog and pony show for the fans if Nunes had won the first match.  Grin

Anyway, here's my lottery ticket for the event.  I'm not really that confident about this one.  The top ticket should win tho.

Luque - Hill at 2.02
Add:  Oleksiejczuk - McKinney - Quinlan at 3.68
Add:  Battle - Lipski - Sakai at 23.63
Add:  Granger - Egger at 117.78
Add:  Miller - Usman at 607.96

Well, Kayla Harrison was seeing an upset that night, but it was really cleared in the 2nd match that Amanda Nunes was really sick on the 1st fight, and having trouble with her cardio back then, but Kayla Harrison is really obvious she is the one that really pushing this fight through and Dana White really doesn't give a thing about it, but if the following win from Nunes would surely spark another willingness for Harrison to fight Nunes, then why not,

Kayla has the potential but can she even go down to 135lbs?  Once she reach this weight, she'll not last fighting Nunes. She has impressive grappling record which is a plus for her.
But the fight may not happen unless Dana offers million$. She's earning much more in PFL without having some setbacks. Why she's up there holding the belt is nothing sort of a promotion I guess.

But Sad for her uncle Dana White will surely not offer millions of dollars just to see these two fight and this could be a stunt for PFL to gain more popularity because we all know that the UFC is more popular than any MMA combat sports combined if a fighter on the UFC and a fighter on PFL would fight and the winner will surely represent those fighting organizations, this is surely a risk for Dana White to accept such thing,

UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Hill

Despite main event and the fight between Sakai and Spivac I see no fights worth watching. I dont expect Santons to win. On the paper Hill looks way more better, and Santos usually looses to more or less good fighters. Dont know why, by Thiago Santos does not associate with winning to me. I dont remember him winning recently or someone big. Probably fight will go full distance and it going to be a boring one.

I also don't think this will be a much more exciting event aswell, but I am more waiting on the next event after this actually, but Still the Vicente Luque fight against Geoff Neal seems promising, but I am more after those beautiful fighting kitties that I surely would behold and for me that will be Ariane Lipski and Cory McKenna, that will surely light up the fire,

Amanda Nunes' was on crutches during the post-fight conference. I was surprised her face was badly busted too especially one of her eyes. It was a dominating win but I disagree that she could've finished Julianna but preferred to go full five rounds to prove she's better. It's pretty clear that Amanda fought smart and was careful in the first two rounds. She only started with her aggressive takedowns when Julianna was diminished and with a bloodied face. She cannot stop Julianna. And I agree with Belal Muhammad that Amanda was just being arrogant with her talking. I hope Shevchenko is really next in order to settle their controversial past.

It's been proven for me too that Amanda Nunes is WGOAT. “She had escaped from the lioness in the last game, this time there was no chance of escaping,” Nunes said. Now what awaits she next, I'm sure she will have a nice holiday first. What happens next, Valentina and Nunes are still saying something to each other. I don't know if Valentina will do this fight by gaining 135 lbs. Her performance in her last fight was not very impressive for me even if Valentina won.

If we look at the lines of wins for Amanda Nunes that is some names in the UFC she already defeated, both the Woman Bantamweight and Featherweight she had to conquer, that is why you are right that she is the WGOAT, and pretty much she will be having a great time during the holidays, and right now there is no proven competition for her left if she can do down the division and get the women's Flyweight as well, and conquer 3 belts, why not,

^  Nunes is just better everywhere and she made it very clear that the loss was a fluke.  I'd bet my left nut that another match up with Nunes would be the same as what we just saw last weekend.  I mean what was everybody expecting?

And yeah, there's no other match up for Nunes but a rematch vs Shev.  But there was this girl Kayla Harrison who the UFC wanted to match up vs Nunes at 145.  Maybe we'll see that.

Amanda Nunes was really the GOAT in every Woman's division, if she can beat up Valentina Shevchenko why not get the Women's Flyweight belt, in gaining 3 belts in the UFC, I would surely love to see that,

Kayla Harrison was from PFL and is currently undefeated, in there, for me Harrison is a bulldozer and she doesn't have a great match in the PFL that is why she is sending a message to Dana White to come and take her as a part of the UFC and to see who's really the GOAT if Amanda Nunes or her, for me she will be quite a lot for Amanda Nunes, those power that she has shown on the PFL, is sure legit, but technically speaking Amanda Nunes has the smarts to pull something on her,

It's funny how some people thought Nunes was all nervous and all insecure before the event.  I never got that vibe from her.  She's cringe during press conferences but never nervous.  Her behavior was mostly just awkward and eager to sell the fight by saying some phony stuff in front of the journos and the fans.
She looked very nervous to me and I don't think she was that dominant in fight against Pena, but I know she had much better changed tactics and that made Pena confused.
If you watch the fight again you will see few armbars Pena had with Nunes arms that was only seconds away from winning again, but on standy Nunes was better this time.
With updated tactics I am sure Pena could win in third fight, but she needs to make big corrections and be ready for unexpected from Nunes, she is going to change her game again.
Julianna Pena is asking for trilogy fight so please sign me up, I want to see that, but it's possible to see superfight between Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko.

There was so much blood in main event and Nunes won with her changed tactics and changed stance, but I am sure we are going to see third fight between this two fighters.

Amanda won the fight convincingly it's not even a close one, he knock down Juliana several times and take him down many times too she is too dominant in this fight it's very one-sided I don't think this fight deserves a third one, Amanda is truly the GWOAT of UFC.

Quote
From other fights I was very surprised with the good performance and win of Sergei Pavlovich
The stoppage is questionable the ref should give Lewis more time, Lewis is like that he is a very tough fighter and had a history of coming back anyway a win is still a win it's just that some fans do not agree on that stoppage

They'd likely prefer to see an early stoppage than seeing someone get hurt. Derrick clearly fell face and if it wasn't stopped, Sergei will hammer him more in less than a second, the referee didn't wait for Sergei throwing several shots more. Derrick however just felt like he wasn't hurt.

If this fight happened 10 years ago, Derrick may have a chance to win. Somehow I feel like Derrick can recover quickly if it wasn't stopped though.

I remember Congo vs. Barry fight where Congo clearly is about to sleep but recovered quickly. This is one of the fights that sticks in my  memory. Big men recovers fast and unexpectedly knocks Barry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMAwOwBB5OQ

I think Derrick Lewis has seen the replay videos and thinks if the referee would not stop the fight he will surely receive some heavy damage from Sergei Pavlovich that is for sure, I really think it was a clean win for Pavlovich, but it really was an early stoppage, and if many are not in favor for the result I think a rematch is pretty much needed, to clear the doubters,

So Moving on with the UFC 277 and we are back with the UFC Fight Night again, here is the next event for the UFC,

I dont think that there was an early stoppage in Lewis vs Pavlovich fight. Lewis already ate some good punches and gain damage. I think it was pure adrenaline that he recovered quick and looked like he could continue. But as the fight goes on, those head punches would remind Lewis brain suddenly and might even turn off his legs, which might cause even more damage.

I would like to see a trilogy because Juliana Pena is a formidable fighter, eating those power punches like nothing and the ability to recover from those hits, just wow.
If there is to be a third fight between Amanda and Pena, i feel Amanda is still going to beat her again, i like Pena, she is very strong, but the lioness Amanda is a beast inside that cage, yeah Pena beat her in the first fight, but that isn't going to happen again, Amanda is better and stronger.
They'd likely prefer to see an early stoppage than seeing someone get hurt.
I don't want to see a fighter get hurt too, but Derrick didn't seem to be too hurt, he took some punches and went down, but you could see how fast he came back up when the ref stopped the fight, when Derrick stood up he didn't look like someone who needed the ref's intervention, that stoppage was too early.
