^  Yup..  Nobody really expected Ortega would change his game so much.  It's almost Jon Jones-esque with the spinning elbow he did and side kicks to the knee to stop TKZ on his tracks.

Excited to see what he can do to Volk.  They're up next for the FW title.

Brian Ortega dominated and won very easy in this fight against Korean Zombie and I didn't expect to see this at all, except long distance fight like I predicted.
Ortega was totally different much better fighter and I don't mean only physically since he shaved his had, but he moved much better and only thing I can say this was Ortega V2. I am looking forward to see him in his next fight.

Yes! they are surely hyping that Justin Gaethje is the one to truly make a dent in Khabib's Record of no lost but I highly doubt that statement, seeing how the eagle is an excellent wrestler than Tony Ferguson and that fight was pretty much not originally meant because Nurmagomedov was the one supposed to  fight Tony Ferguson but I think this is pretty much in haste and Ferguson was originally preparing for a Khabib fight, but as we see Gaethje is pretty much ready for this I think they are expecting this fight and analysing how Tony Ferguson move and because Ferguson's movement is really predictable, but I highly doubt that the same may happen to Khabib, I will bet on Khabib Nurmagomedov to win this.
The fight against Tony Ferguson was the best performance by Justin Gaethje, but the difference is that Tony Ferguson never wrestled anyone even though he is great at jiu-jitsu and all of the finishes he had was when the opponent tried to take the fight to the ground and he has great submissions but never initiated wrestling and styles makes fight and with Khabib Nurmagomedov i am also going full in as he will take Justin Gaethje down and will hold him down and you will see him gassed out and finally a finish in the later rounds.

It will be juicy indeed! but I truly believe that Said Nurmagomedov will win this, even though Streigl has a good physique Nurmagomedov experience and skills will surely prevail here, I am going with Streigl and supports him because he is a fellow Filipino just like how I supports manny Pacquiao in all of his fight.
I am expecting this fight to go to the distance and i understand your support because for me there is no one in the UFC to support as a country man but i had the same feeling when one of my friend Rahul Raju who competed in One FC last week against a top opponent Amir Khan and the game plan was all set to close the distance and clinch but ended up getting defeated by a perfectly timed elbow in clinch.

In Justin Gaethje Vs Khabib Nurmagomedov I think of Gaethje as dangerous when it comes to striking he has good wrestling and can make defense of a possible takedown but Khabib Nurmagomedov is excellent in wrestling and holding his opponent down the ground I can say that Khabib is scarier when the fight is on the ground. and men I can not wait to see that fight.
What i like about the fight is that everyone is hyping the fact that Justin Gaethje is the toughest opponent because of his wrestling background and Khabib could not take him down easily and the game plan everyone is talking about is to avoid getting stuck in the cage, the facts are Khabib Nurmagomedov does not need a cage to take down and you can find dozens of videos of him taking opponents down in open mats and i have seen fights where Justin Gaethje was taken down even though he was able to scramble up before coming in the UFC.

Yes! they are surely hyping that Justin Gaethje is the one to truly make a dent in Khabib's Record of no lost but I highly doubt that statement, seeing how the eagle is an excellent wrestler than Tony Ferguson and that fight was pretty much not originally meant because Nurmagomedov was the one supposed to  fight Tony Ferguson but I think this is pretty much in haste and Ferguson was originally preparing for a Khabib fight, but as we see Gaethje is pretty much ready for this I think they are expecting this fight and analysing how Tony Ferguson move and because Ferguson's movement is really predictable, but I highly doubt that the same may happen to Khabib, I will bet on Khabib Nurmagomedov to win this.

If you reeeaally feel you gotta pick Streigl, make it via sub.  It's priced at juicy odds 14 at Stake.

As for my bets I got Grishin vs Antigulov under 1.5 rounds at 1.7, Botelho at 2.65 and Martinez at 2.1..  I changed my lean after tape from Robertson to Botelho.  She's def live and she'll prolly win the first and second rounds and prolly have a close third round when she starts to slightly gas out.  Lol.  My bet really comes down to hoping that she doesn't get subbed at the third.  Cheesy

Edit:  Here's the mandatory weigh in results and vids.  No reads here or anything, except that Mark Streigl is ripped for his weight class.  He on the juice?  Grin

Brian Ortega (146) vs Chan Sung Jung (146)
Katlyn Chookagian (126) vs Jessica Andrade (126)
Jim Crute (206) vs Modestas Bukauskas (206)
Claudio Silva (171) vs James Krause (171)
Thomas Almeida (146) vs Jonathan Martinez (146)
Mateusz Gamrot (155) vs Guram Kutateladze (156)
Gillian Robertson (125.5) vs Poliana Botelho (125)
Jun Yong Park (185) vs John Phillips (186)
Jamie Mullarkey (156) vs Fares Ziam (156)
Gadzhimurad Antigulov (206) vs Maxim Grishin (205.5)

I also side with the Korean Zombie. I've been watching his fights and now would watch him beat another opponent. I've seen Ortega being a good in strikes but his overconfidence makes him untrustable especially with the Korean Zombie being so chill in the first game and suddenly knocks his enemies out in an instant. Damn, I've staked so huge with KZombie. I've also rooted with other fights but I bet everything to KZombie's fight as I see more chance of wiining in him. Even on the odds, KZombie is being rooted by the other people.

I can't wait to watch their fight.  Grin

Brian Ortega may show different in this fight but Korean Zombie have a striking accuracy that may win this fight that is why a good decision is with KZ.

It's a fight day! Let's get ready for one more UFC event.

Here are some of my picks and predictions:
Said Nurmagomedov vs Mark Striegl
I am going for Nurmagomedov win here and even if odds are not the best I think that Khabib cousin will dominate if we know who was in his training camp.
He won won 13 from 14 fights, and this is Striegl UFC debut after he tested positive for covid last time, and he was part of ONE championship before.

My second pick fight Brian Ortega vs Korean Zombie
I wrote before about this fight so I won't repeat that again, but I will confirm that I believe fight will be decided by long distance decision.
It will not be easy fight by I give slioght advantage to Korean Zombie.

Don't forget to watch the girls Katlyn Chookagian vs Jessica Andrade
Andrade (20-8) is favorite on paper but lost two previous fights Namajunas and Zhang
Chookagian (14-3) won last fight against Antonina Shevchenko and she is taller fighter and underdog here.
I will skip betting here but just enjoy the fight.

Countdown for start of this event and you can also VOTE for winner of main event:

I don't like how Ortega just walks down his opponent with his hands down. I don't know how he's improved after Max thought him a lesson.

Ring rust and the fact that we don't don't know how Ortega will bounce back after the his first loss makes me think twice to betting on him.
The problem with Brian Ortega is that he was too confident with his striking when he knocked out Frankie Edgar and he followed that with Max Holloway who is a much superior striker and took him apart and Chan Sung Jung is a good striker but not on the same level like Holloway but he could stand his ground in striking and good on the ground.

I have seen some interviews and Brian Ortega is looking for a brawl and it will be a good fight.

Brian Ortega vs. Chan Sung Jung

Korean Zombie really have a good striking and although it is not really superior than Max Holloway that give Ortega a hard time and Dominating Brian Ortega inside the ring you can see the confidence in Holloway taking exchange of hits, Ortega really is too early for him top take on Holloway I really think that this is a bad match up for Ortega for a comeback after 2 years hiatus after the Holloway fight I think I will side for Korean Zombie, But if Ortega could win this I really think that it is bad for him to take another tittle fight maybe another win after the Korean Zombie.

I also side with the Korean Zombie. I've been watching his fights and now would watch him beat another opponent. ^ Yeah Mark Striegl is definitely ripped and looked strong. I also like the odds for Mark winning by submission at 13.8 at Bitsler and placed a small bet (again). I think he could take down Said once the two are in a clinch and do his magic on the ground. The guy has nothing to lose here really. He might as ewll go all out and shock everyone.

^  You got it the other way around.  You should take Ortega via sub and TKZ via KO/TKO.  Ortega via sub is kinda sketchy tho.  TKZ is also a black belt in BJJ, Ortega is a slow starter and TKZ doesn't have cardio issues.
I'm gonna stick with my picks. It's not like I have a choice to cancel anyway  Grin

Mark Striegl vs. Said Nurmagomedov

Big Shout out for Mark "Mugen" Striegl that would Debut a fight in the Ortega VS Korean Zombie main event From PXC, One Championship, URCC then to UFC I know that his opponent was a Nurmagomedov and Said has a high skill in his division but hey I still support my fellow pinoy in this fight.

If by some chance Said Nurmagomedov loses, I think I'm going to take Gaethje next week.  There could be something wrong with Eagles MMA after Khabib's dad died.  Tukhugov and another guy from that gym also lost their recent matches.  Hmmm...

Edit:  Ortega shaved his head btw.  It looks weird.

Well, I highly doubt that Mark Striegl will not have a hard time fighting Said Nurmagomedov I highly think of Said skills and techniques than Striegl but I am supporting a fellow Filipino, well it is my first time ever that I have seen a Filipino fighter in the UFC and it is simply new to me, but I still respect Said Nurmagomedov's moveset Striegl will sure be surprise from those unexpected hits but Said is not Khabib there is a high difference in level and ability.

I just played small bets on methods of winning at Bitsler simply because I like the odds  Grin
Ortega by K.O. at 10.05 and Jung, Chan Sung by submission at 13.55. Let's see how it goes.

Fight day is getting closer and Ortega and Korean Zombie just had a faceoff:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWzEEDcl0gg

And I just listed to good pre-fight interviews from Brian Ortega: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YTgO0KLIz4
and Korean Zombie Chan Sung Jung: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3TvFcsBgXM

My early predictions are on Korean Zombie, based on Ortega being long time out of Octagon, and I think Korean Zombie will get slightly better adjusted to time zone.
Ortega also had issue with one of his cornerman that tested positive on corona and will not be with him for this fight.
Ortega was also never been knocked down and I expect to see a great strikers fight and long distance decision.

More promotions for UFC fight night Ortega vs TKZ.

Watch the top finishes video and you'll notice similarities of the two fighters. Both of them could finish an opponent on the feet and submit on the ground. TKZ looks to have the better overall game though (including defense). I don't like how Ortega just walks down his opponent with his hands down. I don't know how he's improved after Max thought him a lesson.

Ring rust and the fact that we don't don't know how Ortega will bounce back after the his first loss makes me think twice to betting on him.

I give the ground control to Brian Ortega as he is capable of locking in a submission anytime.
Both the fighters are good on the ground and i think both will keep the fight standing and if there is an opportunity then we will see a scramble and the edge might go to Ortega because of his long reach and his submission skills.

Korean Zombie (16-5-0) last fight was win against Frankie Edgar in the end of 2019 and mma fans remember many of his fights, and expecting win from him against Ortega, and odds suggest he is heavy favorite here.
I think the odds are favoring Korean Zombie because it is almost two years Brian Ortega last fought and that too a brutal beating by Max Holloway, the ring rust will be an issue and it is hard to predict this fight. News are coming out that one of the coaching staff of Brian Ortega tested positive. I might skip betting on the main event but i might change my mind as it depends upon how they are cutting the weight and how healthy they look.

Finally, we have one amazing UFC fight card in 5 days with Fight Island 6 main event Brian Ortega vs. Korean Zombie!
I have been waiting to see this fight for weeks.  Smiley
Ortega (14-1-0) is coming back in octagon after very long pause and lost from Max Holloway in UFC 231 in 2018, and he has bad blood with Korean Zombie after slapping his friend rapper Jay Park.
Korean Zombie (16-5-0) last fight was win against Frankie Edgar in the end of 2019 and mma fans remember many of his fights, and expecting win from him against Ortega, and odds suggest he is heavy favorite here.

UFC released first video preview:

Don'r underestimate other fights on this card as we have one Nurmagomedov (not Khabib) and other great fighters.
I will wait for few more days to read news and listen what they have to say before posting my final bet.

I was actually about to check the odds for UFC 254 only to find out there's still one more fight night. I checked the cards and kinda like the main events.
I am also waiting for the most anticipated return of Khabib Nurmagomedov and the fight against Justin Gaethje will be a great battle and even i was neglecting the rest of the fight cards Cheesy.

Maybe the Korean Zombie's ground game is better which gives him the edge.
Jung Chan sung AKA the Korean Zombie is a good stand up fighter as far as i know and i have not seen him taking the fight to the ground even though he has many submission wins, the fight i remember is the Jose Aldo title fight where he dislocated his shoulder while throwing a punch and Jose Aldo seeing that and went for the kill and finished him and the next fight i remember is where he was dominating and Yair Rodríguez finishing him with an reverse elbow with one second left and if not for that the Korean Zombie would have won that fight.

I give the ground control to Brian Ortega as he is capable of locking in a submission anytime.
