McGregor looks like he wants to fight both of them too, but if Khabib vs Gaethje does go ahead, which it likely will, I think he should go with the Masvidal fight as that's probably the next big thing unless he fights Tony, but Dana said he wants Tony to take some time off after his defeat.
Have you heard about the situation of Khabib's dad, he is in coma and if something bad happens then it will affect Khabib terribly considering how close they are and he is his primary coach and even Conor McGregor reached out which is respectable.

I heard he was ill as Dana mentioned it in the press conference but he didn't go into details.

Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz would be great but to face Masvidal it will be a difficult fight for McGregor considering the size difference even though he fought down at 155 pounds.

Both fighters have fought in both divisions so I'm sure this match up could easily get done. I'd like to see it, but I don't think Connor would win.

I'm also glad to see Dana is still going ahead with Fight Island even though it seems fights in the US are going ahead fine now. That could be something special.
The reason for the fight island is to accommodate fighters from other countries as the government has no jurisdiction over it and that was the plan from the start as it was clear that the corona will be with us for a long time and Dana White wants to continue with the fight cards.

With restrictions likely being lifted soon it probably won't matter that much where it is. I'm sure Dana could get people flown into the US quite easily.

UFC on ESPN: Overeem vs. Harris

Date: Saturday, May 16
Preliminary Card : SUN, MAY 17 / 1:00 AM EEST
Main Card: SUN, MAY 17 / 4:00 AM EEST
Venue: VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, Jacksonville United States

Main Card
Heavyweight: Alistair Overeem vs. Walt Harris
Women’s Strawweight: Cláudia Gadelha vs. Angela Hill
Featherweight: Dan Ige vs. Edson Barboza
Middleweight: Eryk Anders vs. Krzysztof Jotko
Featherweight: Song Yadong vs. Marlon Vera

Preliminary Card
Welterweight: Matt Brown vs. Miguel Baeza
Middleweight: Anthony Hernandez vs. Kevin Holland
Featherweight: Giga Chikadze vs. Irwin Rivera
Women's Flyweight: Cortney Casey vs. Mara Romero Borella
Featherweight: Darren Elkins vs. Nate Landwehr
Heavyweight: Rodrigo Nascimento vs. Don’Tale Mayes

I would like to advice to pay attention to two fights this is card.

Of course the main even, Overeem vs Harris. Previously I would say, that this fight would be easy for Overeem, but lately he disappoints with his instability. Overeem is not as steroid monster as he used to be. Just a decent heavyweight fighter right now, so Harris has all the chances to win.

Second fight - Matt Brown vs Miguel Baeze. I remember that Matt Brown was the master of elbows, he even got a "bloody elbow" of 2017 trophy. Hope to see his elbows in action this weekend Smiley

Did Glover Texeira eat steroids? The Lionheart was picking his teeth and giving them to the referee. I am not joking hehe.

Also, I speculate that Khabib might not fight according to his original plan on July or September. His father is in a coma.

Media outlets in Russia are now reporting that Abdulmanap is in a coma. The outlets say that his condition is critical. Sport Express reported that Abdulmanap was taken to a hospital in Moscow via “special flight.”

In today's fight three fighters surprised me, i did not expect Drew Dober, Andrei Arlovski and i did not expect Anthony Smith to loose to a 40 year old Glover Teixeira, i have not seen Golver Teixeira dominate like this and i thought his age will be a disadvantage and moreover Smith fought really well against Jones. As expected Michael Johnson once again lost the fight, but he started really well but Thiago Moises showcased his ground skills.

What can I say - Dana White and UFC awake sport from covid-19 “sleep” in less than 7 days. Great! They sure knows how to entertain and manage that business.
Happy to see that UFC was able to entertain the sports fans with consecutive fight cards and in a couple of days there is another fight card.

Here are the results of UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira
One of the most brutal fights i have seen in a very long time.
Anthony Smith took a beating of his life time and the corner should have stopped the fight, Smith lost a tooth during the fight and Anthony Smith handed it over to referee.

The injury Gabriel Benítez sustain and the image is not the faint of hearts and hence i am not posting that, his bone can be seen in the picture he posted in his instagram account.

Thank for pointing that. I havent seen that event, just checked the result and thought that after ufc 249, this fightnight would be much less entertaining.

But now, “brutal beating”, “tooth handed to referee”, “injury” - I cant just leave that unseen lol  Grin

Update: I’ve checked Gabriel’s injury photo - deep and nasty cut.

I haven't watched last nights card yet but according to the post-match conference from Dana it's likely Khabib vs Gaethje in September and also the infrastructure on Fight Island will likely be completed within 3 weeks so he'll announce where that is then: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEKQGUHDtOQ

McGregor looks like he wants to fight both of them too, but if Khabib vs Gaethje does go ahead, which it likely will, I think he should go with the Masvidal fight as that's probably the next big thing unless he fights Tony, but Dana said he wants Tony to take some time off after his defeat. I remember Conor saying he wanted to fight three times this year but we'll be lucky if we get one fight at this rate. Hopefully he'll be on the Fight Island card and then the winner of that could maybe fight the winner of Khabib vs Gaethje at the end of the year, maybe on the December New Year's Eve card. He needs to take something though as I doubt he's going to have a title shot without earning it.

I'm also glad to see Dana is still going ahead with Fight Island even though it seems fights in the US are going ahead fine now. That could be something special.

Well, I am really having a doubt that the fight would make it that is why I don't make a bet ahead of time, even though my bets would have been refunded if the match was canceled, and because of the recent blackout or power failure in my place that has lasted almost 3 days then I don't have any problem in that part
Power failure for three days  Shocked, my prediction was spot on for the event and rarely you get this kind of huge fight cards where you can parlay and win everything.

Yep! it lasted almost 3 days and in some places, they had it for almost 6 days now and counting, I don't know what happens here in my country if this is the problem of our electrical company, or just because of the hot weather we had I really don't know, but right now I am back on track on giving my opinion again and making my bets on time, now that UFC fights are back.

And I had a glimpsed in the news about Ngannou winning but I haven't seen the highlights yet, I have just watched the main event on the Tony Ferguson Vs Justin Gaethje highlights and that was it.
There is no highlight as the fight lasted just 20 seconds, three or four punches from Ngannou and he just need one punch to land and the fight was over as it started. The UFC could give him the interim belt rather than making him wait.

I mean the replay video, I didn't know back then that it only lasted 20 seconds but when I got to watch the fight Ngannou really did make a ravage of punches on  jairzinho Rozenstruik, this I got to put on my list of fighters to look on too.

Conor McGregor, and Dustin Poirier caused a reaction on twitter.
Conor is trying hard to get a title fight and he knows only trash talking could help him in this regard  Cheesy.

And Tony Ferguson dancing from the clinic.
Tony is a special breed, his chin impressed me and he is dancing around after a really tough fight and in hospital, i bet he is in real pain after the brutal fight.

Name callings started over Twitter.
Conor McGregor and Tony Ferguson is first, and I think Toni knows that he will miss title fight against Khabib now,
so he plans to fight with Conor in next fight.
It is just my theory, but realistic.
Conor is taunting Tony, Gaethje and Nate Diaz and he knows someone will get hooked in his trap and he will be targeting Gaethje as he knows that is the best option to get his hands back on Khabib.

^ ^  Loving the line for Michael Johnson vs Thiago Moises at 1.90.  He was really good back in the day when he started.  Moises could be an easy match up for him imo.
I have not seen any fights of Thiago Moises but what i know is he is really young and a BJJ expert. The reason i doubt Michael Johnson is because his credible win was against Dustin Poirier back in 2016 and won just 3 fights in his past 10 fights and he went down to 145 pounds to try his luck and that too went off the track.

Agreed! It has always been an unlucky pairing for uncle Dana hehehe.

In any case, I speculate El Cucuy might fight Dustin Poirier after this loss. Also, clearly next fight for Khabib is Justin. Who will be next for Conor, however? Certainly not Nate. This will not improve Conor's ranking and challenge the champion.
Tony and Khabib was seen as the biggest fight in history and Gaethje and corona virus spoiled everything Grin, now the logical fight for Tony is to fight Dustin and Conor already started trash talking Tony, if anyone remembers Conor never said a word about fighting Tony before the loss  Cheesy.
If Dana could lure Nate Diaz then we will see the Conor and Diaz trilogy.

Edit: Francis Ngannou was really amazing in my opinion but I haven't watched the whole fight yet.

You did not miss anything.
Fight was very short, and probably less than a minute.
Rozenstruik is luck to be alive because referee jumped in to stop the fight.

I mean I already knew that Ngannou had won it but I haven't watched the whole fight yet, been very busy lately and the recent Blackout in my place was the cause I didn't make a bet, but I am, please to hear that UFC Dana White really did make it happen.

I have never make a bet on the UFC 249 because I am really doubting the fight to go through and because of  the sudden Brownout in my place that lasted for 3 days that is why I didn't make any bets and doesn't have any news at all

If the fight was cancelled then your bets would have been refunded.

Gaethje vs Conor for the right to fight Khabib? Is this something that could happen?
The point of having an intern championship is to battle the champion because he was forced to sit out because of the restrictions and in three months time all these restrictions will be lifted as you cannot halt these business for a very long time and Gaethje and Khabib fight can be done in three months and by that time everything will be fine and if both fighters are healthy then we might see the title unification fight by August.

McGregor was telling Diaz to 'sign the contract' a day or two ago but Dana White said there was no negotiations between them so it was likely shit talking. Either way I'm sure the next big will include a match up between McGregor, Masvidal, Khabib and Gaethje and I'd like to see any of them fight each other really.
If McGregor can fly back to the US then Khabib certain will, Nate Diaz and McGregor is the right fight and let Gaethje and Khabib fight out which will be a great fight.

Gaethje vs Conor for the right to fight Khabib? Is this something that could happen?

Well it could, but Gaethje will probably be next in line for Khabib now since he has the belt and I think that's the fight Dana said will likely happen next. The only way it wont is if one of them would rather fight Conor but I can't see that and Khabib and Gaethje should probably go for the belt. Either of them could fight McGregor after that but there was talks of McGregor fighting Masvidal. McGregor was telling Diaz to 'sign the contract' a day or two ago but Dana White said there was no negotiations between them so it was likely shit talking.
