Dana White is an amazing and determined man. If he is lucky he is planning his next event on May 9th. It is understandable it is a sport that generates a lot of money but the situation in the USA is critical. The USA became the first country with more positive cases for Covid19. Let's see what happens.
WOW that's a big news. Does anyone know what will be the fight card? And where the event will take place?

Gaethje would have taken this fight even if he hadn’t trained for 6 months. It’s a pay day & if he wins, a shot at Khabib. Gaethje won’t be scared but I expect Ferguson will win.
Justin Gaethje is not known to take fights on short notice and even during this short notice replacement he was in shape and was in gym all day and after consulting with his coaches and the money involved and the intern title on the line might have given him the motivation to accept this fight but the problem is that Justin Gaethje lost against tough competition and anyone who fought Ferguson looked entirely different because they are not able to recognize because of the damage Grin.

The coronavirus is similar to the flu virus.
Covid is not similar to flu simply because the scientist are still not clear about the new virus, with flu we have an understanding about the mortality rate and other essential data but with COVID new data is coming out and hopefully within a few months i expect them to come up with solutions and have a complete understanding about the virus.

Flu vaccinations are given to people, however, why are some of those people again infected by the flu? There might be more strains mutating.
Virus keeps on mutating faster than we expect, if we find a vaccine for a particular strain then they will mutate and find a way to infect us  Undecided. It is a long battle and it will go on as long as humans exist.

You are correct, I was wrong. The influenza virus is not a coronavirus, however, a common cold is a type of corona virus which does not have a vaccine because of quickly mutating strains. Covid19 might become similar to common cold virus, Sars or Mers. It might become always a threat.

Coronaviruses are a group of related viruses that cause diseases in mammals and birds. In humans, coronaviruses cause respiratory tract infections that can range from mild to lethal. Mild illnesses include some cases of the common cold (which has other possible causes, predominantly rhinoviruses), while more lethal varieties can cause SARS, MERS, and COVID-19.

Also, this comparison to the influenza virus on the nature of a virus.

However, flu viruses tend to mutate during flu season, which may alter the effectiveness of the current flu vaccine. Unfortunately, manufacturers are not able to reissue flu vaccines when this happens because of the way flu vaccines are created and produced for human use.

UFC betting is back in the game as it looks like May 9th event is very interesting for prediction.
I will be happy to see a live event as there is nothing interesting going on other than the pandemic news but the problem is that can we expect the situation to be normal in the next three weeks as the graph is not showing any improvement and the number of death is still above two thousand per day in America and the expected mortality rate is three fold than the current situation.

Odds are still in favor of answer NO, but people can bet both ways.

I reckon it might not work similar to smallpox vaccines. The coronavirus is similar to the flu virus. Flu vaccinations are given to people, however, why are some of those people again infected by the flu? There might be more strains mutating.

I agree.
Only thing they can give them is that anti-malaria tablets in combination with antibiotics.

Imagine that training with antivirus gear with gloves and mask.

I should say Dana White should just stop and stay put inside the comfort of his home the COVID-19 is a serious enemy that we can not see and the lives of his fighters are at stake here if he would continue on pursuing what he wants.
With the current situation there is no way we can expect Dana White will get the approval to carry on with the fight when daily around 2000 people die due to COVID 19 and if we see a significant drop in the number of reported cases which will take one more month to analyse how the situation is, the idea about conducting the fight in a private island is just a dream.

Indeed! just a dream and even with all that money it is very expensive for him to have a private Island or get fighters to snatch out from their country despite the pandemic is happening around, I would really want to laugh on all the efforts he is trying to do the way he would really want the fight of Khabib Nurmagomedov And Tony Ferguson to continue really really bad but the Pandemic is getting uglier the days go by that is why there is no other option left but to just cancel all fights in the month of April and even May because there is no telling when will this pandemic end.

What makes you think it would be any more expensive than putting on a regular fight? I don't think renting out an island would be that much more expensive or make it much more difficult to arrange a fight. It may even be cheaper. For a regular fight, you'll have to pay an insane amount for the venue, all the staff, and you still have to fly your fighters in from either all around the world or the country. With an island, he may have friends that have them and would let him use them for little to no money. Even if he doesn't and has to rent one I would imagine the price could be comparable to an arena. Flying fighters out there probably wouldn't be much more of a hassle than a regular fight anywhere else. With it being an island there will probably be minimal staff they need to employ vs the probably hundreds in security and venue staff they would need at an arena. I'm really excited to see what he pulls off and if he can pull it off. Even when this whole pandemic thing is over the 'Fight Island' could be regular thing that happens like once a year or maybe more. I think it could add a new dimension to fights.

^  Yup...  But I wonder how Ferguson matches up with Gaethje tho.  I mean with all of Ferguson's training prolly laser focused on Khabib and his style and tendencies.
In addition, I wonder what preparation Gaethje did despite of the last minute call from Dana? Do you think is it enough to beat the Rank 1 contender? *sigh Why we come this far?  Everything seems not on its proper place so I'll not get shocked if we all get disappointed after watching the event Grin
Edit:  And I wonder if there's an unreleased Inside the Octagon for Khabib vs Ferguson somewhere...
Maybe, I'm sure ther is but I think they don't release it on purpose due to big changes.

If vaccine is created, ufc fighter probably wont be the first to get them Smiley
I’d prefer to wait than to be first to receive vaccine, just to be sure it 100% it works Smiley

hope the vaccine is created soon so that the whole world will be normal and return to live watching the fighters UFC in the ring.
Even if the vaccine finally discovered today, it still take long before everyone could avail it. Lots of clinical trials and as well as designing of manufacturing system would be set first.

Well yeah having a vaccine is good but if we really want to go back to the business ASAP then it will be much effective if the cure will be discovered first. I mean the number of covid cases are bloating fast thus exteding the quarantine. So what we badly need right now is a medicine which can cure them anf then immunization for everyone is to be follow up. Let us hope for the best Smiley.

Ohh, yeah I heard it as well and according to the news big fight cards are are on it Cheesy. I'm so excited for this especially that it's been a while since I've watched new UFC fights lol. But to be honest, I'm still feeling a little bit skeptic on whether the event will finally occur or not. We are now on the middle of April and the event will be hold on the 2nd week of May. Do you think the situation in US will go to normal in such a short period of time?
Covid-19 is very high in the US. It's hard to say in the next month that will be normal even if this is a peak period that requires more than two months to recover, hope the vaccine is created soon so that the whole world will be normal and return to live watching the fighters UFC in the ring.

As you say, Dana White is amazing, and for sure each day he is thinking in new ways to make the UFC moves on, but he may understand the size of the damage that USA is getting right now. The only focus there is to stay alive, and he needs to avoid any fight for the fighters' security.

There is a madness to the grand plan of pushing forward with the fight when i think about the situation what he was trying to accomplish, there is no other sporting events anywhere in the world nor any entertainment for the sports fans and if they are able to put a fight card then they can target new audience who never watched UFC and that might be the idea behind it, if the authorities allow them to continue i am sure Dana White will be the first one to put up a fight card.

Dana White is certainly out of option in the end that the Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov will surely be on the way and after Khabib had canceled due to restricted ai travel in Russia White doesn't stop there and make a Justin Gaethje replacement to fight Ferguson but apparently he just canceled it needless to say on April 9, now I am seeing a Fighting Island just to make an event continue, I should say Dana White should just stop and stay put inside the comfort of his home the COVID-19 is a serious enemy that we can not see and the lives of his fighters are at stake here if he would continue on pursuing what he wants.
