Still surprised that Tony had lost. I thought that he will play as usual, hold a lot of strikes, wait till opponent ran out of stamina and win.
But yesterday... Maybe this lost is because he did not fight for a long time? Maybe he was unsettled with all that covid-19, events being cancelled, then organised again and that kind of stuff. I didnt see fire in his eyes, he looked so disappointed or sad during the fight (imho). Maybe his mental problem returned?

Tony is getting old now like Donald Cerrone. Great fighters but both past their prime and they're going to struggle against the younger fighters. I'm sure Fergeson would do much better with Connor than Cowboy did and maybe that will be the next match up as it looks like Gaethje will be fighting Khabib unless McGregor steps in for that but I can't see that happening.

I have never make a bet on the UFC 249 because I am really doubting the fight to go through and because of  the sudden Brownout in my place that lasted for 3 days that is why I didn't make any bets and doesn't have any news at all

If the fight was cancelled then your bets would have been refunded.

Edit: Francis Ngannou was really amazing in my opinion but I haven't watched the whole fight yet.

You mean all 20 seconds of it?

You did not miss anything.
Fight was very short, and probably less than a minute.
Rozenstruik is luck to be alive because referee jumped in to stop the fight.

Well, base on what I see and was shock of the result I can say that the Tony Ferguson Vs Justin Gaethje should never have happened in my opinion first of all Tony Ferguson was expecting Khabib Nurmagomedov so he has trained to counter Nurmagomedov and not Gaethje Tony has a slick Submission game that can give Khabib a problem but against Gaethje that is a big problem for Ferguson, and we can see who is really dominating the fight.

UFC 249 was great event to watch.
Single sport that I could watch and enjoy, and despite lack of crowd and weird silence, I was amazed by Francis Ngannou KO and main event.

Looks like Tony was fighting shark  Grin

Awful injury, huge scar (probably has metal plastine now inside) and bruises like he had lots of torn muscles. This leg gonna be Gaethje main goal.

I find it always interesting, how much strikes fighters with such injuries could hold, before injury starts to show signals for stop.

After this fight, I'm convinced Tony has one of the best chins out there and that you can't count on KO against him. I'm looking forward to Khabib vs Gaethje but Gaethje has the same problem Conor did, poor cardio. You heard throughout the fight Gaethje's coaches yelling at him to stop putting so much energy into his punches which weren't hitting. Khabib is going to take you to the ground and and won't allow any of your punches to hit.

I'm rooting for an underdog win but Khabib is on another level and you need excellent cardio to stand a chance against him.

Actually for me that is what he did, his main plan is to squeezed Gaethje's stamina. That's why he keeps on punching and kicking the thighs of Gaethje in the early rounds. However, all those efforts seems not so worthy because he received a lot of hooks and jabs (take note, right on the face) in exchange of it. Even DC was so amazed that Tony's face able to endure those heavy punches at first without having a cut Cheesy.
The ability of Tony Ferguson to take a punch surprised me as he usually knocks everyone out cold and the amount of damage he was able to take and still was not out cold until the referee stops the fight made him more fans.

There should be no excuses when you lose (and I'm glad that Tony admitted it). One thing is for sure, Gaethje beat him in a clean way, that's it Smiley.
Dominick Cruz would disagree, even though he took 11 unanswered punches he was disputing the stoppage and even blamed the referee was smelling alcohol and cigarette Cheesy .

Can someone please help me to find information about ppv subscriptions bought during UFC 249. Or at least how much was earned during that event. Just curious how much it cost ufc to hold the event without audience and if they managed to cut their losses with ppv and commercial.

Real shit!!!, Khabib Nurmagomedov vs TonyFerguson will never be happened.  Cry
Let's us expect for the upcoming main events. I hope it will happen soon!!!

Justin Gaethje vs ConorMcGregor
Justin Gaethje vs Tony Ferguson (Part 2)
Justin Gaethje vs Khabib Nurmagomedov
ConorMcGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov (Part 2)
Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson will always be an unrealized match up for the fans and with the defeat now against Justin Gaethje there is no way we will see that match up anytime soon. I was expecting Tony to win and the Khabib fight to happen next but now everything changed.

After Justin Gaethje winning the interim belt Conor McGregor is calling out Nate Diaz, the next fight for Justin Gaethje is Khabib Nurmagomedov for the title unification and it will be an interesting fight with the way Justin Gaethje performed against Tony it will be interesting to see the take down defense and the leg kicks and how Khabib will counter those.

Agreed! It has always been an unlucky pairing for uncle Dana hehehe.

In any case, I speculate El Cucuy might fight Dustin Poirier after this loss. Also, clearly next fight for Khabib is Justin. Who will be next for Conor, however? Certainly not Nate. This will not improve Conor's ranking and challenge the champion.

I am yet to watch the fight but the results was shocking for me, even i was thinking Tony to win the fight in later rounds while Gaethje burns himself out and Gaethje changed his game plan and shocked everyone winning in the 5th round. What was the odds for Gaethje to win my TKO in the 5 th round i am sure the odds would have been huge.

^  I kinda expected it as said a couple of times itt.  But not in that lopsided fashion tho.  I thought it was gonna be closer to 50/50.

Sad part:  Didn't pull the trigger on Gaethje.  Sad
When i was watching the main event, i felt like Tony Ferguson was not having the best reflexes like he used to have in the past and then i thought age is catching up with him, but then i remembered that he cut weight unnecessarily just to show off and post on social media when the last fight was cancelled because of Corona virus. May be cutting weight two times in a month might be hard for the body and was not responding like he wanted, just a thought for everyone as i expected Tony to win, i was surprised to see Gaethje taking a different approach than swinging wildly and gassing out.

I really hope McGregor will decline that. A fight without audience will be hugely boring. It will look like a fight of TUF(The Ultimate Fighter)...  Undecided
McGregor would be more inspired to wait few more months...

I disagree. It's the fighters that make the fight not the audience and the bouts last night went down fine without a crowd. I think the lack of fans adds a new element to the fights. Same goes for the potential Fight Island. With it being on an island there will obviously be a lack of spectators but the mere fact it being on an island adds a whole new dimension to the card. Maybe Dana will scrap it now seeing as they could probably just do the rest of the fights in Florida since UFC 249 happened without a hitch but I hope not. They could make the Fight Island into a yearly thing if it's not just a one off. I think it could potentially be pretty epic depending on the setting. Fighting on a beach or with the sea in the background could be pretty special. Going by Dana's latest interview with BT Sports he said he's still working on it so I'm hoping it will go ahead even if it is just a one off. Even without a crowd I'm sure if Connor's on the card it will break PPV records for the UFC so it will make up in lost gate receipts.

Francis Ngannou v Jairzinho Rozenstruik

Rozenstruik called out the grim reaper Cheesy, the fight is over as it started, Rozenstruik was thinking about a technical fight landing a couple of heavy leg kicks and Francis Ngannou had enough and closed the distance fast with wild swings and the first shot he landed Rozenstruik slept and a few shots added as flavor, it was brutal.

Any one of those punches he threw could have KOd him had they landed.

If Connor doesn't face Khabib next then either of them should face Gaethje. Maybe the other fight could be Ferguson but both fights couldn't be on the same card as both will want to be headine fights.

The predator did amazing work, destroying Rozenstruick in just 20 seconds. Marvellous fight that got performance of the night $50k bonus.
What he did is jaw dropping lol. I mean, I expected that one of them will drop the canvas but I never thought their fight will end so fast Cheesy. How unfortunate for Rozenstruik not having a chance to showcase his punching power.
Main event - unexpected result. At first I wanted to write that Khabib sneak away once again, but I will say that Khabib would definitely defend his belt Smiley
Hahaha, Khabib's greatest contender was murdered by the Ranked 4. Then who's gonna beat him now? But kidding aside, that match was so disappointing. Watching Tony bleeding and wobbling is so cringey Embarrassed.

Just in! George St. Pierre is now on the Hall of Fame Shocked! D*mn! I'm glad that he made it. Actually he is the reason why I became a UFC fan. He was one of the greatest fighter of all time, he deserve this.

"The face of Canadian MMA has a new home." Huge announcement for all of us St. Pierre fans out there and shoutout also to his Canadian brethrens. One of the better announcements amidst this pandemic. We really need this kind of motivation.  Wink
