I am quite disappointed with the Diaz-Pettis fight. I was expecting some fireworks but it was not the case.
- Pettis looks out of shape and not as explosive
- Diaz fighting smart by clinching and limiting his opponents attacks. He's also thrown more kicks than he usually does.

I was surprised too, i thought that Diaz will be out of shape, outside of the ring he doesn't seems like the brightest bulb but he showed intelligence  while Pettis didn't show absolutely anything.

That is true, he is not attractive fighter at all, he doesn't cause chaos, he doesn't trashtalk etc, but what i meant is that UFC needs champion like him is more from fans POV. I am sure that i'm not the only one who prefers dignified respectful fighters over loudmouths and clowns.
I miss old school type of fighters like  Georges St-Pierre, Fedor Emelianenko  and Cro Cop, so for me Miocic is a breath of fresh air.
Some fans prefers the drama while others prefer pure fighting so it's always better to have a good mix of "dignified respectful" and "loudmouthed" fighters. Comier isn't that much of a trash talker either (unless he's fighting Jon Jones) and I don't think "purist" fight fans will have any problem with him winning the title again.

I can agree with that, Cormier is among those fighters.

Excellent Miocic Vs Cormier fight last night , it was pleasure to watch and stay up whole night, especially if you are Miocic fan Cheesy.

The way it started, i thought Miocic won't survive 1st round, Cormier completely dominated the fight, but Miocic showed the toughness and strong chin. Miocic survived all that and lucky for him he found weak spot in the 4th round and managed to finish the fight, KO/TKO was the only way at that point for Miocic to win the fight, if it went up to the judges decision, Cormier would win.

Miocic had excellent cardio, even better that Cormier and we know what kind of beast he is , even though he is already 40 years old.

@tokeweed - how much you won on Stipe?  Grin. From day one you have been talking about Stipe taking this one so I assume you made a significant bet. Good call!!

I think its more of DC getting tired and gassing out and Miocic taking advantage of it. The landscape has change again with this win and more story board (I'm sounding like @bbc.reporter here Cheesy) branching out.

Congrats to those who won in this event.

I have to agree about Miocic vs Cormier fight. While i am Miocic fan, and i think UFC needs champions like him, Cormier is simply better fighter and my money is on him.But of course, this is UFC, anything can happen
With his slurred speech and hard to understand accent I dont think UFC will mind too much if hes not the HEAVYWEIGHT Champ  Lips sealed

Last fight of Nate Diaz was at UFC 202 last August 20, 2016 when he fought Conor Mcgregor for the second time. Thats exactly 2 years and 11 months and 26 days today. While Anthony Pettis is still active in the octagon and his last fight was March 23, 2019 at UFC Fight Night versus Thompson. Diaz being absent in the octagon for quite sometime may have an effect on this fight.
unfortunately i think you're right, the inactivity, the distance from the fighting will be felt, so even if i believe I believe that Diaz is a better fighter, i think it will lose against Pettis...

Looking forward to this weekend  Grin

I'm actually quite a fan of Miocic, he's the only heavyweight champion that I can remember defending his title three times (Overeem, Santos, and Ngannou) but I think he's going to be outmatched against Cormier. DC has faster hands and although Miocic has a boxing pedigree he can't hope to compete on the wrestling side.

Going to go with Cormier to win via KO, probably in the 2nd or 3rd.

As for Pettis v Diaz I'm fairly confident in Diaz taking the win, but it's probably going to be more of a drawn-out fight.

Pettis is arguably the harder hitter, but Diaz has speed on his side and tends to lure opponents into the kind of slug-fest he thrives in.

I'm going for a Diaz victory via decision, unless Pettis can utilise his BJJ/wrestling skills to bring Diaz to ground.

You can check out our odds for the weekend's action here.

After witnessing DIAZ light up and smoke the Marijuana joint, it makes me wonder if he is in good enough condition to go for 15 minutes against pressure fighter like AP!  Lips sealed
I wish him to win hes got my money

Pretty sure weed will help his lung capacity.  Do a search on 'cannabis and lung capacity.  Lolol.  Grin  But he better make sure he doesn't do any ballet moves in the cage or something.  Cheesy

Did you pick nate Diaz because you believe he can pull a win on this fight or you believe in his skills or you pick him because of the odds given to him and how much you can win when when he also win this fight? Current odds for Pettis and Diaz is -129 for Anthony Pettis and +115 for Nate Diaz.
I only put a small amount on DIAZ since he is a underdog but he been out of ring for like 3 years so we dont know how he will perform

DC sounds confident here

However, the Diaz brothers are always training and they participate in triathlons as a routine.

Also, Dana's storyboard for the heavyweight division might be Daniel Cormier versus Jon Jones 3 if Daniel wins or Stipe versus Francis Ngannou 2 if Stipe wins hehehe.

Pettis looks bigger here. I'm not sure if he is fit enough to go toe-to-toe with Nate for five rounds. If this goes the distance, Nate may steal the fight in the later rounds.
