In fact I suspect Shevchenko to have gone down to flyweight category because she saw it would be too difficult to beat Amanda Nunes and take her bantamweight belt. So she preferred to go down to flyweight to win the title...
You have to understand that Valentina Shevchenko was a legit 125 pound fighter and she was fighting all her Muay Thai and Kickboxing in 125 pound weight category and when she came to the UFC they did not have a 125 pound division and so she was forced to move up in weight and fight in 135 pound division and once they opened the division there is no one who could beat her.

Can Amanda Nunes cut his weight to 125 pounds and challenge Valentina Shevchenko for the flyweight championship? I reckon Valentina should be given a challenge, women's flyweight is very boring.
Amanda's toughest opponent is the weight cut https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQLgbVjxGfM
It would not be healthy for her to shred more to reach 125 lbs. It will greatly affect her power and might lose to someone who is in her natural weight class.
Losing weight will also depreciate your power to withstand for long fights. So it will be good for her to maintain that weight. Enough work outs is definitely good in order to win for her opponent, and that's pretty sure effective instead of cutting off some body mass.

It is a good fight card for UFC 241, the most anticipated fight is the rematch between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic and i hope it will be a competitive one than the first one but the return of Nate Diaz will be a much better fight as he is facing Anthony Pettis and this fight will have an implication on the third fight with Conor McGregor as it would be yet another big fight and the young Paulo Costa have a big task ahead of him in the form of Yoel Romero, if he could win the fight he will be the next title contender.

Nunes is a batamweight fighter she went up to featherweight category few months ago to fight against Cris Cyborg for the featherweight title, so I don't think she will be very delighted to cut her weight for going down to flyweights category now.
There is no real contender for both Valentina Shevchenko and Amanda Nunes, even when they fought each other when Valentina Shevchenko was fighting above his weight class at 135 pounds the fights were really close the first time and the second one was a split decision and she is the only person who stood with Nunes for 8 rounds which is incredible considering how she demolished everyone after that. We need to see the third fight, either Valentina Shevchenko will move up to challenge Nunes for her championship or Nunes comes down to 125 which is really hard, either way we need to see them fight for the third time.

Hey guys.

I've never been on any UFC event IRL. Have any one in this topic visited at least any event ? How long does is usually lasts ?
UFC Fight Night 156 - 13 fight, 7 of them are by decision. That is 7*3*3=63 minutes of fighting. Plus rest time, time when fighters go from locker room to octagon.

I've been on local boxing events (fight night) and K1 Max Grand Pries, and they are usually from 20:00 to 01:00  Smiley

It was a complete 5 rounds fight against Liz Carmouche so I don't know how it works for fights outside the U.S but Shevchenko could get a medical suspension for several months. Nunes is a batamweight fighter she went up to featherweight category few months ago to fight against Cris Cyborg for the featherweight title, so I don't think she will be very delighted to cut her weight for going down to flyweights category now.

Well I am always betting on the main card so in the Woman Flyweight Division my bet is on Valentina Shevchenko for the win for this, I see that she got the determination to win this, And the style of his approach will be pretty powerful against Liz Carmouche, I guess the age may not have a big problem or can get them an Advantage or Disadvantage because of it, Well both fighters can really take the win but I am betting on Shevchenko because I see a lot of potential towards her,
I don't think it is a very profitable bet to gamble on this fight, and specially on Shevchenko. Odds are very low, because she's ultra favorite. Less than 1.1 for her versus 7 or even 8 for Liz Carmouche...
It won't be a very hot fight.

I've been asking FJ and Nitrogen for some prop betting for the UFC to squeeze some more available lines in that could give us more decent odds.

I think if you guys ask for it too maybe they'll listen.  Grin

Well, even if it's not that profitable I can not bet on anything else that I think I don't know so much, I only like the main card matches and definitely even if there is less opportunity for this I will just take it, and naturally, Shevchenko won so I have no regret at all.

I think the First Page should get an update by tokeweed for the upcoming Fight Night 156 but anyways he might be busy with other things and as for the upcoming fight on August 10 on (UTC−03:00 or UTC−04:00) And August 11 for (UTC−08:00) Standard Time if the Time zone is correct I guess, But I will post the upcoming fights with their stats for Fight Night 156 before we can get to UFC 241.

Main Card

Preliminary Card

And for the Welterweight Co-main, I guess the fight will be in favor with Vicente Luque I think he got a slight advantage over Mike Perry because of the Reach and slight height but I can not say for sure but I think Luque can give perry a devastation of punches and even go with the submission if he likes to, Well that is my thought and I am not looking on their popularity but their fast performance,

But anyway if you look on the Preliminary Card below there are one fight that is canceled because of Taila Santos wrist injury so that is all and good luck to all bettors.

Yes Conor needs to add something else in his arsenal. He is excellent in standup fighting and he will be more viscous if he can add wrestling, grappling in his list of expertise. I see picture of Conor practicing BJJ after his fight with Diaz which is good if he wan'ts to be good at it. It's just like boxing, your opponent will watch your videos over and over again to see your weakness and focus on that weakness. Fighters need to evolve and change something in their fighting style in each fight.
Can we teach old dogs new trick? Even in the Khabib fight Conor knows that he will be taken down by, but his training is not enough to offset Khabib's ground game. I'm sure he train enough for that but when you are hit in the face, all those strategies and careful planning are put out into the window as you just want to go toe-to-toe with your opponents.
Well I am one of those who doesn't believe in that idiomatic expression that "You can't teach an old dog new tricks", I refuse to believe in that because I myself is in the mid of 40's and I am still willing to learn, it's just a matter of ones eagerness to learn. Conor can learn but he can't learn and be #1 overnight because he learned a few tricks, but yet he learned. After learning, next question is application, how can it be applied or can he apply it right away.
That is the best question, he rely so much with his left that he think he can over power everyone. I think we need to factor as well his ego here, the biggest ego in UFC and wanting to learn, that could be the first.

@bbc.reporter - Yup, Khabib has the best ground game, I think a few notch above GSP during his prime, and it's really hard to train for that. Whiskey business or not, he can't really win against Khabib and it's all for the money now.

@peter0425. No one's training can offset Khabib's ground game hehehe. He is the best wrestler in all of MMA. However, what Conor did not do was implement his own style on Khabib. I heard that he was also very busy in his whiskey business and left the formulation of strategy fully on John Kavanagh, which was not normal for Conor.
