So I bought BTC at £9000, made a nice amount. Is it a good idea to now sell this and move that money into alt coins? or should I  sell half BTC and buy back in after alt season is finished?

What do you think?

I think that at the moment it is very bad to sell Bitcoin, because if I would stop making a lot of money, Bitcoin is starting with new highs, I never recommend buying when they are high, but I do not recommend selling when there is a strong suspicion of a good bull run, for now better is Hodl at all costs, there is a lot of emotion in the people, some are waiting for Bitcoin at $ 90k, there is even talk that April 14 will be one of the times that there will be more volatility in the market due to the options market of Bitcoin, but it may be that by April 14 there will be bitcoin with new highs, nobody wants to miss the best movement of Bitcoin, so for now it is not good to sell.

Altcoins can give you money, but for now when Bitcoin starts to go up, altcoins go down in price, if you like altcoins a lot, I recommend that you buy them but in the next Bitcoin correction, but not for now.

You will still have to decide even after all the advises that will be given. Don't sell all your bitcoin, but you take part of it to buy any good alts and make great profit then convert back to bitcoin. For me the goal is to grow my bitcoin.

Follow your guts don't ask people if you wanna sell or not because it's always up to you it's your money it's your asset no one really know what you really want to do in your bitcoin well it seem that you already have knowledge and you need to learn more so that you don't need to ask other's people opinion most of them will tell you to sell and other's will say hold it until it will reach $100k price so it's balance and if the price goes down then not your day but don't worry it's always come up with another surprices.

If you have lots of spare, enough budget for a year or more, I would say keep hodling for another year.

But if you really need it just now then that's okay to sell after all you gained much profit from it.

Are you sure about hodling it? I'm really rekt due to some altcoins

Now bitcoin price is good position. You can sell half of your bitcoin. Because no one can 100% surely predict on Crypto currency. So i think any time its price can get down. So you can sell it now. Though i think bitcoin price will increase more in future.

Congratulations for gain a huge profit. Now i think its all depends on you. I always says everyone that crypto is a place where time shouldn't be targeted. Your wish should be targeted then you always will be in profitted. That means don't set a selling time because proce could be flactuate on that time that is why when you saw you are in a good profit and you are happy with your profit and you can't hold it for a long time because you need money in a very recent then take your profit. Because you saw you are in profit and you need money after 1 week that is why you thought okay then wait for 1 more week but after a week price gose down and you make a lose. So try to take decision smartly. Because if you can hold it for long time then hold but if you can't then take profit when you think you got your profit.

I think the price of Bitcoin has been higher than expected in 2021, those who have invested in Bitcoin have already made a good profit, so hold a small amount.  The rest should be sold for some good profit in the future, even if the price of bitcoin is lower than it is now.

I think you sell bitcoin and buy alcoin. I think it's alcoin season and you will get a lot of profit from trading alcoin. Good luck.

Selling Bitcoin should only be done in an emergency or for pleasure. An investment in altcoins can also be made with FIAT. You should always take care of your projects and see if they can deliver what they originally promised. If, contrary to all forecasts, you do make a profit, you should make sure that you realize the profits and rebalance your portfolio so that the overall risk of your portfolio does not become too great.
Maybe not, and I don't consider holding bitcoin for a lifetime. I have different meanings about investment and that pretty simple to me, my goal is to make money out of it. If I bought Bitcoin at $30k and seeing it now reaching $60k, I have to sell it right away. Why? Because that is my goal, we never know what will happen by tomorrow and neither sure that it keeps moving high. And I just take the opportunity that possibly we can't see it back again. In fact, we can reinvest again if we would like.

Just my thoughts but you better hodl it. If you bought it at 9000 you won't gonna lose anything, but i bet btc will grow more, sell it at least at 100k.

Does that mean that you think that people who bought at 10 thousand will lose some money? Cheesy

We are not going back to 10! I fail to understand why for some of you 10 is such a magic number. How about 12, 14 or 20? They were all important levels at some point

I don't think we'll see sub 20 unless the US economy enters its own bull run.

While some Alts can give you multiple times returns there is a risk involve with most of them particularly the one that are new and less established.
Btc, on the other hand, is reliable investment as it is much more popular, widely accepted, well known and has many users.
I think you should not risk your investment by converting it to altcoins.
Btc has just started it's journey, soon we will see $1m btc

Watch out for the taxes!!  Once you sell your Crypto assets for FIAT, it can be taxable unless you reinvest it.  Hold it or use it for investing / collateral / diversify in altcoins.  But never spend it.  IMHO.

Long-term holding of Bitcoin is a more appropriate way to make money, and daily price fluctuations will not affect your mood, because you always believe that Bitcoin will eventually rise. For short-term speculators, it will be miserable. The price fluctuations of Bitcoin will always affect your sensitive nerves (this is especially true for contract users), and the resulting losses will be even greater.

I read many people online say I will hold or I will sell but very rarely a read about numbers and plans. personally I believe 150k will be this cycle top so I start selling all at 100K. next I hope history will repeat and I will be able to buy back at 25-35K and wait for the next bigger ATH after 4-5 years. but even if I don't I will not sorry because I already have about the same amount normal people earn 30-40 years working in my country.
so that's it right or wrong I will quit at 100k. in addition people start to be too optimistic about price grow, institutional adoptions etc. I believe soon time will come to be fearful:)

Yeah selling all your bitcoin for altcoin is really a bad decision and should be avoided. Either keep holding all your bitcoins as it is the safest investment and this is not the peak of bitcoin. Also note that if you still want to buy some altcoins then you can keep 50% of the money in bitcoin and invest the rest 50% in the good altcoins.

A few months back, there were some really good options in the altcoin market, such as Cardano (ADA) and Binance Coin (BNB). But these coins have gone up steeply during the last few months, and most of the experts now consider them as overpriced. So the best option is now to hold on to your Bitcoins and to make new investments limited to BTC. Also, looking for a good altcoin to invest in is like searching for a needle in the haystack.

To be honest, it is your decision to be made because it's your own money after all. Investing in altcoin is not bad either however since it is a lot risker than Bitcoin you must perform proper research. What makes good investing in Bitcoin is that profit is more certain because even if it dumps, later on it will come back and grow even more you can imagine, to put it simply it is better on a longer time frame. Altcoin, on the other hand, can make a quick profit but also the risk of losing your investment is high that is why the decision must be made by you. And if you are going to invest in altcoin make sure that it must be on the top listed ones cause newly created coins were way riskier.

Remember one main rule: never sell your cryptocurrency. Perhaps in the future, some day, when it will be worth a fortune, then it will be possible to sell. Now for earning a small amount I do not see the point of selling:)
