So I bought BTC at £9000, made a nice amount. Is it a good idea to now sell this and move that money into alt coins? or should I  sell half BTC and buy back in after alt season is finished?

What do you think?

Very high probability BTC will hit $100-500k this year and 1 million 4 years from now...

Just the idea of selling now seems monstrously silly..

Elon Musk is about to buy another $10 billion.

What do you think?

Maybe you need to keep hodling it you want more profit, hodling for a long term is such a best option for you to do if you have nothing to spend. There is no specific value that people will say to you if this would be the best time to sell BTC because it depends on your decision if you are contented with the profit you have already.

I also want to congratulate you for buying bitcoin when the value of it is not that too much high as it has right now, that is already an achievement.

Don" hesitate to sell whenever you felt like profit is enough mate because the eager you wanted to gain more is the higher chance of becoming a Loser, Trust me when i said because I"ve been there for how many times and Guess what ? i always lose LOL Grin

There was a Time in December 2017 When the price of Bitcoin Reached 19,700$ and since i am still Noob and Greedy those time , know what i did?
I refuse to sell instead wait for 25,000$ increase ..

And just the next day , Price fell down and continuously until 2018 lol,

I think it's not a bad idea to move half of the bitcoins into altcoins now... The main thing is to have time to sell both bitcoins and altcoins in order to buy bitcoins again later! I'm sure that after this run it will be bearish season again like in 2018...

It is a good idea only if you want to get ruined financially. Many of the altcoins have gone up quite a lot during the last few months and some of them are looking overpriced. Ethereum in particular is facing a lot of issues due to high transaction/gas fee and delays in implementing ETH 2.0. Some of the alts such as LTC and BCH are facing a decline in trade volumes and acceptability. For now, I would rather stick with BTC rather than venturing in to any of the alts.

It's good to see that you bought a bitcoin in that price and if you sell it now you earn a lot of profit from your capital but if I we're you I will holding more months the bitcoin that you have because this price is not the highest price but around 80k upto 100k dollars are we expected to be price of each bitcoin but it depends to you if you sell it now , hold or move it to the altcoins.

Yes, it's a good time to sell. Wait for a while and buy again when it drops ... The average price breaks its records every 2 years. It will be worth waiting ...

LOL That's what people were saying at 30 thousand and then at 40 thousand and then at 50 thousand...

I'd never sell my bitcoins to buy altcoins like OP is planning. It's a really stupid and risky idea because altcoins will not go up on their own. They will keep pumping as long as Bitcoin stays high or pumps as well.

If you choose to sell bitcoin to buy altcoins you're betting on Bitcoin staying in this 50-60 thousand area. If it goes up, you will make money regardless of whether you choose BTC, ETH, or something else like ADA. If Bitcoin goes down you will lose more money holding an altcoin.

If you don't need to sell it then why you will sell it? suppose you have a good home for living with your family, would you like to sell it for no reason? as like as Bitcoin is your investment, your asset, so you can sell it when you really need to sell. otherwise, it makes no sense to sell a valuable asset while the price is continuously growing. If you have other earning sources to manage your daily necessity cost then it is better to buy Bitcoin more cause BTC will break 90K soon.

I think at that buying price you already make a huge profit, at some point you need to sell your investment, I mean practically or your investors you know that it could go down, and you could easily buy back bitcoin when the price drops again in the market.

But I guess it's kinda different these days since according to some charts only whales are accumulating more and more bitcoin, and only fewer people are actually accumulating or have a low volume of bitcoin. So I guess it's kinda scary because that just means that there will be more manipulations in the market price of bitcoin in the future if its continues, so I guess it would make sense to hold your bitcoin and just aim for a higher market value somewhere around 200k-1m$.

You could always buy buyback your bitcoin when it drops, but it's necessary to make some profit or sell because its a risky investment and we know how the market works, we don't know if bitcoin still exists after 5years so it's better to make some profit as soon as you can.

You have already made a huge profit, but it still seems to me like the market still has a long way to go, since it broke a new ATH level of $60,000, although that’s not enough reason for you to not sell, as long as you feel you have reached your target and even surpassed that, then you’re good to go and can sell at anytime.

As for investing the money in altcoins, I don’t really know about that, are you sure that altcoins are good choice to make now? I do have altcoins, Stellar and Ethereum. I bought 4 ETHs around the price of $180 for each and I haven’t thought about buying Ethereum again since then and I’m still holding just the ones I have bought back then, the price is now more than ten times. It’s always best to buy altcoins at the time they are low, I don’t know if there will be another altcoins season this year or next, apart from the one we have seen so far. But anyway, there might be.

If I were you, I wouldn't sell all of it or even the half. Because if you continue to HODL, I think you will be in a greater profit in time as long as you are patient. But if you want to feel the pleasure of making a good profit, you could sell a little amount of it and enjoy spending it on something or you can even buy something directly with Bitcoin.
I think the same like your opinion better selling bitcoin now because have raise all time high now and looking with other opportunity like buy altcoin or move investment assets with altcoin have lower price, bitcoin maybe have higher price now and never get moment break more to higher price, so bigger chance to get profit on altcoin if I were you I sell bitcoin and buy back altcoin for future holding.

I would say don't sell now. Prediction and market analysis shows that in the middle of 2022, it could cross 2.5 lakh hopefully. Various institutions are showing interest in Bitcoin and investing in Bitcoin. So much hope can be placed in 2022.

You're lucky to have bought by then, but I don't you think selling all your bitcoin becuz you are profit is a wise idea, it would be a whole lot better if you sell a small amount and keep the rest cuz the bull run is still on, well the ball is in your court it all depends on how you wanna play it, also about investing in altcoin projects, I just hope you know the risk that comes with that  Tongue, don't expect a %100 return they are alot of scam projects, so do a good research before investing to avoid losing your money to scammers.

Congrats for buying bitcoin at such cheap rate. If I were you I would have sold all my bitcoin at 60k and wait for return of bearish market. Bitcoin can make wild swings in all directions, its better to quit if you are getting huge profits.

You should never sell all your bitcoin, look how far we’ve come since 2009. Fiat currencies are in quick sand, why would you want to convert it all into fiat? Stay away from alts, most are crap.
- I know that bitcoin can go further each year but that is not as important as your goal, you are here to make money, if you don't sell your bitcoin, your money is virtual currency and has no service for your life. However, selling it all at one point is never the right decision, the opportunity in bitcoin is like a lottery game, we are forced to split bitcoin for sale at peak times and spend the rest betting on further futures, maybe it's a bit risky or it's a bit of regret but it's still better than being stubborn in a choice when the choices are always very risky.

It depends on the goal of the traders whether if its long term or short term. But you are right about your statement above. You can't have profit unless you convert or take your profit in BTC. This is the common mistake of traders, They are becoming greedy when price is rising then FOMO when they sold which is the reason why most of traders never sold in profit.

i am crypto optimist and believe (as many analysis show and most people predict) BTC will grow in 6-digit price later this year or in the beginning of 2022 and will probably (most likely be) anywhere between 200-500K in the next cycle.
however i am not greedy and know very well that there is a realistic percentage (1-2-5% who know) that things turn in the wrong direction. i mean no interest in bitcoin, many goverments ban etc. in this case it will be worth nothing and you will have something with no value. you will have nothing while some months or years ago you have had a fortune. so i decided back in 2017 during past ATH that I would hold my coins and sell it all when price hits 100 K or close to this level. that's my limit. later on if price follows past halvings patterns I will buy back at dip approximately same amount of BTC i have now. I appreciate all your optimism and truly share it...however keep in mind nothing in life is sure and eternal. so don't let the greed spoil your life and future and please put yourself a personal limit.
