You are right.The market is unpredictable there is no specific time when bull run comes.But although the market is unpredictable there's an altcoin that have good potential and have high value in the market like ethereum.We may invest in such altcoins that have a good for growth in the future.

Alt coin seldom have a bull run, usually the bull runnis just pump and dump action, investors not too favourable about alt coin because the place to spend is limited, once it is limited, the transaction volume cant be big, usually alt ciin will have a slight rising follow the bitcoin rising, but it also depend on the coin

I agree with what the OP says that supply and demand determine the value of cryptocurrency, not a situation like altcoin determined by the bitcoin movement.
