I agree with you, gambling is a form of entertainment where the focus should not be on success and making money. If we only go into gambling with the idea of becoming rich and making money, we will be frustrated very fast. Sure there are a few lucky gamblers who manage to get rich, but the majority of players will not achieve that. Measuring success as avoiding big losses and njg becoming addicted is a good idea. It's like going out a night drinking with friends, we could only buy champagne and spend thousands of dollars. Like that we will likely feel horrible on the next day, it's about having a good time while not spending all your money. The excitement in gambling for me is that there is a small chance to win big. I am aware it's a small chance and I will not count on it to happen.

Most of these are pretty good suggestions overall. I would certainly tend to agree with most of them but a few of them I would push back on just a little bit. #1 & #2 I think are a bit debatable. There really are some very good professional gamblers who do this for a living, so those I would of course not count as part of those guidelines. Otherwise good info.

What does success mean here? If it means that you will lose but only moderately, then I agree. But if it means that you will profit from gambling, I don't agree.

If success in gambling is defined as making money or earning profit, I don't think it's easily achieved. Only a very small percentage of gamblers are actually making money. The rest are losing.

Success is rare if it's defined that way. But if it is defined in terms of how much fun the gambling experience is, then a lot are indeed successful.

When a person suffers from it, they tend to forget all their morals and principles since what matters to them is that they are satisfied with their bets.

Well, if you are a person that sees gambling as a source of income then you shouldn't rush and play but you must think first about its consequences but if you are only playing to get entertained then you can just gamble right away since you can stop easily after you lose your small balance.

I only cant agree on some of the items in your list like on number 1. A pro gambler actually plays for profit and not for fun. Also in number 3. What if the game has a potential of a million multiplier? Games like mines and limbo. Will you embrace it and predict till you hit them? I think that was too risky already since the chance for them to came out is very low.
