If you can't control yourself then you should quit gambling, gambling is a very fun activity with chances to make money, that is the reasons a lot of people like to gamble and become addicted, there are ways to quit gambling addiction, but you need to have strong will to quit gambling and sometimes seeking a professional help will make the healing process become faster
Asking for help to someone else is a good idea but you should not first ask for help, do it yourself, with a strong intention and a hard effort you can stop gambling without the help of others. If you've done it yourself, your intentions are strong, your efforts are hard but you never managed to stop gambling, then you'd better ask someone for help. No need to be ashamed to ask for help because they would love it if you stop gambling.

For stopping mutual cooperation will work more better as if the person will start to give time to his friends and family then he will not need to go for those gambling and he will not dump all of his wealth on gambling and if he will then gamble then with a smaller amount of money. If he will give time to his family then he will know about the needs of his family and he will then think for them and he will then spend only a smaller amount on gambling and will spend the remaining in his family.

Right gambling is very fun and easy to make money especially to those have luck, quit gambling is very hard to those people are addicted in to it. Self control is the best way to quit gambling.

People who have self control will not be addicted to gambling only. Discipline is what is required in life if you have to succeed and if it cannot be achieved than nothing in life is possible. Once needs to be smart in what they select and what not to avoid such addictions.

Guys, I know that many of you have already discussed this issue regarding quitting gambling as it is addictive, and I know that this thread is just like any other one. But forgive me because I am really sick of seeing people committing suicide because they are in big debts. I would like to speak my mind.

So, guys. Quitting gambling has to be done by quitting yourself. What I mean by that statement is that you should no longer be yourself or what you are. You are now a man of greed and addiction. Who was the person you were before you start gambling? Perhaps you were addicted to something else. Perhaps you were just a normal man living a normal life. Now you are a different person. What I want you to do is that you should be aware that gambling too much will make you lose yourself. Second off, you should sit with yourself and write down the negative effects of gambling. Do not be like "What if I win next time, what if I get lucky next time." No, that is not you who is talking but your greed. Do not give yourself false hopes because "What if" is a term used to talk about unreal action in the past or the future. You can neither change the past nor be accurate about what future will be like.

Then you should practice positive self-talk. Fill yourself with positiveness. Have a strong willpower and determination because believe me, once you are committed to something, you will attain it. If you want to give up gambling, then you can do it because other people and I gave it up.
I used to gamble a lot with my friends and I would be lying if I said I did not learn many things. But the negative effects overcame the positive ones. I took a decision to stop gambling. I filled my time with various activities. In time, I started to forget about gambling. It is like moving on. If you want to move on, get yourself from the routine you used to be in. Your brain is functioned about a certain routine. You will find it hard to adapt to the new routine, but believe me, in time you will get used to it.

I hope you guys achieve what you aspire. And I hope this thread will help you, even though I am sure I am going to get negative feedback. But it is okay, I am open to everything. Have a lovely day, Hadoooken!

This is how it actually works. It's true that gambling is a very addicting and a bad habit to get addicted to. If one must quit, he must be really committed. You are right that the reason why a lot of people find hard to quit is because of chasing their losses and the false hope of winning something back. However, remember that in gambling winning is an objective, that means the odds between winning and losing is really far. We also know that in gambling, luck is really the main factor to win.

It's true that if you want to stop gambling must have a very strong will to ourselves, but it's a lot hard to stop gambling to get bigger profits if you have a lot of capital, worse still do not have the capital but the will is very big all the way which is done to earn money by selling their ambitious valuables to compete in the world of gambling.

First when we say that quiting in gambling in first it is hard but when time has passes by it already forgotten. We must say that quiting gambling is quiting your life because if you are addicted in gambling it was also your life. But when you are able to quit and start again without gambling is possible when you want it. And for me it helps you more when you are quit in gambling and a new opportunity for new life.

thats hard for people who already addicted in gambling and has already have a big depts thats lead them to depression and when they cannot take over the depression they only think suicide is their last resolve.
Unfortunately, it is not everyone that has the ability to take hold of whatever comes in their life and even those who do not gamble but have some issues can also get depressed, let alone gambling that can end up throwing such a person into a huge depressing state than they can ever imagine. The reason is that they expected just too much from gambling and then they ended up hitting the wrong road at the end of it all, which makes them totally lost in it.

Its not easy to quit gambling, I have to agree that some people commit suicide because of this addiction but for me you cannot do this alone better to have someone that can be on your side in times like this. It takes time to do so, but if you really want to quit gambling you will start right now.
It is not easy most especially when you are already an addict, but all in all, it depends on how you are able to control yourself and those impulses that come with gambling. The mistake anyone will ever make is to allow their selves get addicted and it starts by being greedy, seeing the wrong picture about gambling and things can go bad from there. You are correct, as getting out of this is not easy and it takes a lot to be able to opt out from.

When it's too much, addiction is getting worst that can lead gamblers to commit suicide because of the stress that it gives with their everyday life. Imagining on how many losses you've made and you are feeling sorry about it. If you don't value your life, you will think of this crazy act and people nowadays are really different from the usual years that we've been living before. They are valuing much their money but not their lives.  Undecided

I have personally never had any problem of any addiction in my life (lucky me so to speak) so I cant comment on that matter. But I have seen people whose lives have been ruined by gambling and also those families who have suffered because of bad habits of gamblers in their family. Those who gamble need to have a control over their habits and not let the emotional drive get the upper hand.

Suicide from gambling loss is something new to me. Never heard of such cases in my vicinity but yes emotional stress can lead to many bad outcomes. However its important to control it. Thats all that can be done.
Good to know that you never experience any problem with addiction. It only means that you are responsible when you gamble. But that's the reality of life, there are people that are taking it too much when they gamble and they are suffering from the pain of losing that much money that they can't avail to loss. It's too late for them to realize that they have to control themselves and overcome with that current situation they are feeling. This is the sad reality about other gamblers that we don't know on when and how they give up their lives. It's okay to give up when you lose much money but giving up with life, it isn't.  Cry

To quit gambling is indeed when you are really decided and ready to quit gambling in your own daily habits. To loss money is not good but it gives you lots of lesson to learn. And to quit yourself by losing of money is not a way for you to run away a kind of problem. And it's not a good idea for you to quit life.
Whatever it is either to quit gambling for yourself or quitting yourself for gambling, in both cases you will be on profit side. Don’t waste your time anymore and money too in such poisonous game where everyone is profiting others by losing. Why you are doing this? Don’t you have needs to be fulfilled with this money that is going to be invested in useless game? Think over it.

Yes because to leave gambling deliberately for me is very heavy, so let it stop by itself. There are times when we are saturated doing the same routine every day, but in gambling it can be left by itself.
If I get you right, what you are implying is that you keep gambling anyway until it leaves you right ?
If it is by that, it would have been very easy to stop any form of addiction by just doing it and hoping that one day it would leave you itself. It is a lot of work to quit any addiction and except you are ready to quit yourself which totally takes a lot, then you will find it hard and most times, it is best to do some things that would get you out of that shell.

agreed, indeed with a strong affirmation and intention to stop gambling that can only be done alone. It is very difficult if gambling addiction, even have big debt for losing gamble. Life will not be calm if it has debt even until someone desperate to commit suicide, because it must with confidence that can stop and away from friends who like to gamble and find a better friend again.

People have different ways of coping with their everyday lives, so when someone gets addicted to something like gambling online; it would be hard for them to adjust another different lifestyle for example quit gambling. Most of these people addicted to it are a habitual pattern in their lives thus making it difficult for themselves to adjust.
We must go inside the basic reason for quitting gambling. Why anyone quit gambling? What are the reasons behind their quitting? Definitely if gambling would be a good source of earning, or a respectable game then why people asking them to leave? We must need to understand that this gambling is harmful for us. So if we know it now, why to waste our money furthermore. Quit as soon as possible.

In any kind of addiction there is that chance that they commit suicide. Not really because of the addiction but because there is pain and suffering within the person whenever they actually want to quit but generally can't because they cannot control their addiction. It may not be observable because we don't see it on the news or hear about it but it actually happens.

This is the sad truth and reality about life. There are gamblers who are can't take it anymore and they are the one who are volunteering to end up their life because they can't live any longer. They are haunted by their conscience and people who they are in debt. Also there are gamblers who are committing suicide that losing every single property that they accumulated with their hard work but gone immediately because of their addiction to gambling. I feel bad for those people, if there is someone that doesn't believe that this is happening, this is the truth.
Those people don't find their reason why they exist, don't let gambling rule your life, there are more important and better things to do, just seek and you'll see, gambling should be for the people who know how to manage their time and life.

I don't think that they can manage their time and life if they are playing gambling because it is hard to do that. once people playing gambling, I think they start to ruin their life and they cannot use their time for better things because they only thinking about how to win the games and much money in a short-time. but maybe this is not for all gambler and I think there is any gambler that could do this with easy.

How can you leave something like gambling by itself when it will pretty much consume you and your money if you don't don't fo something about it. You have to realize that change should come from you and that you should really want to quit if you have a chance of recovering from addiction

I always tell people this; and most especially for addicts who find it hard to quit something. Addiction is like being in a prison which you have been sentenced to life imprisonment and you only have two choices, it is either you stay and die there in the prison or you find a way to escape from the prison.

Also, the last time I checked, anyone who finally manages to escape a prison usually do one thing and that is to RUN and never look back and that is how to quit gambling. You may receive some help during the process, but a lot of the decision balls down on the individual and how ready he or she is.
