backing the USD with BTC
If you think about what fiat is and how it works you'd realize that this is impossible.

Fiats like USD have an unlimited supply so they can not be backed by anything with a finite supply. In fact that is why they stopped the Bretton Woods system a long time ago!
They are currently printing about a trillion dollar every 100 days. How would they continue this if each dollar is supposed to be backed by anything including BTC? They can't stop creating debt either.

There had been talk of both Trump and Elon Musk attending the bitcoin conference in two days from now. That Elon Jet tracker account on twitter now known as x located it had landed in Nashville the other day, so you never know.
It also helps their case when his Vice President is a bitcoin holder and has been talking about it since as far back as 2022 from what we had seen so far.
So this presidency looks good for BTC future and even has talk of it being held as a reserve currency under this US administration.
That could have it rise up to $150,000 by the end of the year no problem if elected by November.

As for Gary. Once the Trump comes he will out by 2025 no doubt about this one bit:

People before are doubting on the intention of Trump for supporting bitcoin and many say that its just a political propaganda just to create a hype for his name.

Now that he select a VP which is bitcoiner then that tells everything that Trump is really serious on his bitcoin policy. Now with this tandem we can say that bitcoin would be good in USA. Also for sure those country who adopt bitcoin especially El Salvador will be happy with this development since provably they would earn huge benefits for US becoming a bitcoin or crypto friendly country. Imagine the exposure Bitcoins get for latest USA election this will be huge since it gets global exposure. Bitcoin future is really great with this developments happen.

I wonder if Trump's administration will go as far as backing the USD with BTC? If that happens, one can imagine Bitcoin going all the way to the moon. Trump's first term took a soft stance with crypto. So there's a high possibility the same will happen if he wins the White House again. No crypto supporter would side with the Democratic Party. Especially with enemies such as Elizabeth Warren and Gary Gensler.

The main goal is to remove Uncle Gary from office. And what better way to do by voting for Trump in November? Hopefully, Americans choose wisely for the good of the crypto/Blockchain industry and the country itself. Smiley

Of course he would play this Trump Card so to gain supporters he wouldn't have had otherwise if he'd not said anything about bitcoin.
Do you think being one of the headliners at the Bitcoin Conference 2024 in Nashville was by fluke?

It is all planned out ahead of time because they have teams of people to watch the numbers on every keynote he mentions. And bitcoin was probably the one which had a spike when they looked at their hype-keyword meter of these speeches he had made in the past recent months.

Did you not see even Mark Zuckerberg has thrown his hat into supporting the Trump campaign with donations of that Meta money.
To the dismay of disgruntled stockholders for his formerly known as facebook company of social media.

I do think Trump will stick to what he will say about cryptocurrency at he upcoming Bitcoin Conference 2024 happening in Nashville on the 25th to the 27th of this month since he did this while in office before the current administration who have been hammering down on it with constant heavy-handed regulation time after time after time:

Seen this video around almost a week ago and it does seem that the Japanese are obsessed with Trump and his ideology more than their own people, if that is even possible. Just watch this short video to see what I mean.
It shows all the weird things you would expect from a Japanese theme park if you visited one of the many places in Japan.

here is the link to the full video. But get ready for it to get a little weird:

Obviously Biden is too old to continue running the country, but it is difficult to understand why the Democratic Party continues to let him represent them to run for office, which is no different from giving victory to Trump. As far as I know, Biden is under a lot of pressure when many Democrats suggest he withdraw, but replacing the candidate at this time is quite late and has many disadvantages. Trump completely dominates many strategic countries and his approval ratings are very high.

I don't know if we will have a bitcoin nation, but it is almost certain that bitcoin will fly to the moon if Trump is elected and that is what every investor is waiting for  Wink Wink Wink.

Trump has a strong lead against Biden. The failed assassination attempt just boosted President Trump's re-election bid. Biden's unwillingness to resign, alongside his cognitive decline, will make the Democratic Party lose the elections big time. I don't think Harris will be able to make any difference. It's over. People want change in America. Especially with inflation, immigration, and global conflicts spiraling out of control.

A strong US will put an end to this nightmare for good. Trump and his Republican Party are the only chance America has to rise from the ground up. Embracing Bitcoin at its fullest will be the first step towards being at the forefront of innovation. Especially when China (through Hong Kong) opened its arms to it. If the US rejects crypto (or regulates it heavily), it will be left behind in the dust. Other countries will "eat its cake". Besides crypto, America needs to cut massive spending and put a halt to the rising national debt. It's going to be tough, but not impossible. The future is unpredictable, so I can only hope for the best. Cheesy

Don't know if anybody has seen the 3D/AI generated video which was created two days ago (sat on this before releasing it due to youtube algorithm deleting views for some reason) of the incident which had been discussed about for a week already and even having the victim of it speaking publically about it during the last day of the convention for the first time.
So it should be alright to show it now.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJId8hiZgGs

Bitcoin conference should have heavier security measures put in place so this never happens again.
Because the CIA secret service had a major fail befall them and are pointless if they can't do their job correctly even if it is a former president.
Since the speec at the RNC last night by Trump, bitcoin's price has risen overnight to $67,500.
You can not with a straight face say it was not this Trump Pump which caused it to rise by 6% within the past 24 hours since the convention's last speech by The Orange man! Grin

Vance is definitely a supporter of Bitcoin and it’s nice to see Trump pick a candidate with a wonderful track record as well as a little younger. We can only hope that they win it will certainly be a huge in for crypto as a result across the board imo

Thanks @legendbtc for that post.

It reminded me to query about by how much bitcoin's price had increased when Trump won the U.S Presidential election back in 2016?

Interesting chart on the comparisons to the current president in their election years when it comes to the economy:

He is securing his win in the presidency while the democrats have no other candidate. There is no better time to replace Biden than now but they are firm. They are making it easy for Trump to win along with JD.  Trump working together with JD I think is already moving towards a Bitcoin country.  Grin

On PolyMarket, 91% support that Biden should withdraw from the election and I believe it is inevitable.

I find it baffling that recently everything about Donald Trump has been related to BTC, even by bitcoiners themselves. I know Trump has tried to force the tag of the 'crypto guy' on the BTC community, but at this point, i believe that more people than i ever thought have fallen for it. The advantage in the polls is with Trump, and it is almost certain that he will win, but what advantage do some of you believe he will be to the BTC network, you believe the president of the U.S will overtly support BTC?

We will never no, once the election is over, maybe they will have the majority of the Congress.

But we will see, Trump is now being called the crypto-President, so if ever he will win, we might see Bitcoin goes up, in short to long term.

Another good question though: What will voters value though? their political beliefs or Bitcoin?  Grin
Additionally, at least Trump is showing that he is serious about the crypto industry even if he faces opposition from Congress (if he is elected). That shows us that he wants to promote the development of cryptocurrency instead of suppressing it like the current government is doing. We really won't know what will happen in the future but what we need is a president who likes and supports cryptocurrency rather than a president who seeks to oppose it.

Answering your question: as a crypto investor, there is no reason for me to vote for the current government when they are so much against crypto rather than helping it develop.
Many followers of this thread from what I have seen posted about him not going to talk about bitcoin after the republican nomination forget he is to appear and scheduled to speak about his stance on bitcoin and what he plans to do once back in office:

I guess Trump is really serious about crypto. He's going all in. With J.D. Vance on board, what could go wrong? I have a feeling 2025 will be very bullish for Bitcoin. There's a high chance Trump will win the White House again. Especially when most people are angry about rising inflation (economy), immigration, and unnecessary wars.

Elon Musk, a staunch crypto supporter (particularly a Dogecoin lover) will be donating millions of dollars to Trump's political campaign. A pro-crypto administration is what America needs to avoid being left behind in the dust. Especially with countries like Hong Kong, the UAE, and El Salvador embracing the revolution. America cannot miss this opportunity. Adopting the latest technologies is the best way to keep America at the forefront of innovation.

Unfortunately, the current administration's strong crypto regulations has done more harm than good to the industry. Trump and his team are willing to take a flexible approach to help spur the grow of the industry in America. Who knows if crypto companies that once left the US (eg: Bittrex, Binance) will make a comeback? I surely hope for the best. Smiley

This could be what the 80M cryptocurrency users in the country think as well. Although they may not agree what Trump's decision or his policies, him supporting the crypto industry isn't as bad as the current administration that drives away blockchain innovation.

Oh wow, that could very well be an important information. This isn't really "politics", you could dislike Trump or Vance, personally I never liked Trump, and this is the first time I am hearing Vance, never heard of him before. However, this isn't politics, this isn't republican vs democrat, I am not even American so that doesn't mean anything to me, whoever wins it will not change much in my life.

However, what I am suggesting here is that we are all in crypto, meaning that while they may do wonders for USA or do terrible harm to USA, in either case they will be pro-crypto and they will try to do the best they can for crypto, which will impact my life. If they do something quite well, like approach this subject like an important part of their ticket/campaign, and actually give some decent promises, like miners not being taxed that much etc, then we can actually do well. USA is a big nation, with a huge economy, and we need them to be in the market working towards making this bigger.

Obviously it is not going to be easy, and it will take a while, but we could potentially see them do a great job. This needs to be done in a way where we could probably see them some regulations or law or something that helps crypto people.
