We are really used to seeing players like Mertens coming to the Super League after getting quite old. However maybe he can still be useful like Gomis for them despite being 35 years old. But I don't know if he is really the striker they need the most now. If I were in their place I would look for signing a much younger and capable striker who can play for long years as well. Saving the day isn't enough for a team like Galatasaray. They need to make long-term plans as well.

Allegedly, Galatasaray offered a 2+1 year contract to Dries Mertens, who is currently free agent. They will give 4 million Euro per year. This didn't make any sense to me. Paying such a salary to a player of this age is not the job of any Turkish team.
Fenerbahçe transferred to the goalkeeper position. İrfan Can Eğribayat from Göztepe has loaned and has an option to buy. How much playing time the player can get is a big question mark. I couldn't understand why he made such a decision. He will have to stay behind Altay and wait in the bench.
I think new keeper İrfan Can Eğribayat has good potential to be candidate for national team as well. I see this as very good transfer. I always believed Altay is somewhat exeggarated keeper who is not bad but not spectacular. I also have doubts İrfan Can will have many playtimes but I think if they try him more he can steal uniform from Altay in long term. Altay makes too much mistakes.

Between having a player like Kerem, adding in Oliveira, Seferovic, Dubois, and now talks about Mertens and Torreira? Galatasaray certainly have two paths this year. Either they are going to have a big trouble with chemistry because getting this many new players would always feel a bit tough and players may not get along very well. Or they are going to be one of the leading candidates for the championship.

I guess that it will probably be the championship route because they have a new manager who has to prove himself and he will try to do the best he could and will work hard and make players work hard to get there which means many times passed together training to get better chemistry too.

Galatasaray are really making their transfers like they don't care about the coherence in the team. They are just focused on improving the squad quality at the moment to be able to become more competitive this season. By the way they are going to spend an amount like 20 million euros at least for Torreira. In my opinion, this is too much for him. He is a decent player but Galatasaray don't have a huge transfer budget in the end. They should use their money more efficiently.
They realized last season they were under them like they were being cursed everywhere and now they clearly want to fix that even though it costs a lot of money indeed.
Their condition is the same as Barcelona in La Liga who are trying to make their squad better instantly by immediately buying some players in the hope that this will be good next season.

Dinamo Kyiv match was disappointing for Fenerbahce. Jorge Jesus stumbled on his first serious test. Fenerbahce and Jesus now have the UEFA Europa League 3rd Preliminary Round exam. Let's see how they leave here. Slovacko Technical Director Martin Svědík: "Fenerbahce will definitely not be able to knock us out." They are more than ready for the match. Fenerbahce has revised almost the whole team since the beginning of the season. They have too many players and the pieces that should be in the team have not fallen into place. The biggest shortcoming is that they still don't have a center forward and they have a hard time getting to the result. They need to handle this before the league starts and rehearse in front of them. A good match is waiting for Fenerbahce.
It is understandable for them to lose such an important game because it was the first competitive game, team wasn't ready yet and that is why they didn't know what to do and they played very well too, they just got unlucky which was the situation. So, what we will see is that they will get better, they are still lacking a big goal machine type of striker, which they will probably not get this year, but at the very least it was a good off-season and they will be good in the league.

Galatasaray on the other hand keep on making transfers that are so amazing and they are not even in Europe this year, meaning they will lack funds, so they better win the league or it will be a terrible wake up call for them by their accountants.

Galatasaray's new transfer Leo Dubois was injured in the last match. Leo Dubois won't be able to play football for two weeks. Most likely Omar will play.

Also I read these days in a speculation that Kerem Aktürkoğlu was on Atlético Madrid's agenda and Victor Nelson was on Sevilla's agenda.

It is obvious that Galatasaray wanna play big this season. Disappointing performance in later years made fans very displeased. Board generally acted to secure financial status in later years but this season. This season its totally changed. This is definitely weakness and Galatasaray may be messed in quick failure in first weeks. They need to be successful or they will be in need of selling players next season.

Finally the league starts this week. In the opening match of the league, the last champion Trabzonspor will be the guest of İstanbulspor. Yellow and black team Istanbulspor entered the league this year. I don't think they are ready yet. Trabzonspor will be close to victory in this match. I expect them to win this match comfortably.

Galatasaray seems to be "getting" Lucas Torreira for their defensive midfielder needs. Thats quite good because it would work for them amazingly. I am not saying that it is a terrible idea or anything, but we have heard them getting a lot of players. I would love us to get him, he would be a perfect fit for us and getting him for this cheap so that we could not only use him for another 5+ years easily, but if we want to then we could even flip him and sell him for more money later on to Qatar or some other place as well. Which means that we would be actually making a good transfer but I doubt it would happen.

Galatasaray's performance was very poor last season. The most important reason for this was the poor performance of the midfielders. Galatasaray transferred Sérgio Oliveira and Fredrik Midtsjö for the midfielder. If they transfer also sign Lucas Torreira, Galatasaray could have a strong midfield line.

Beşiktaş detonated the bomb and took left back Arthur Masuaku. Masuaku, who showed a successful performance in West Ham, will wear the black and white jersey in the new season. Beşiktaş got a much better left-back than Rıdvan Yılmaz. Masuaku, a citizen of the Democratic Republic of Congo, could be the harbinger of the championship. The defense is now much more solid. Tactically, we are switching to the four-way defense again, everything will be better.

Fenerbahçe s new transfer is Alioski. They loaned this North Macedonian player from Saudi Arabian team Al Ahli. Its probably one of rare times we are seeing Turkish team getting player from middle east. Exact reverse transfers were far more common. I am waiting to see this new left back s performance next weekend. But I think he will be sub to Ferdi Kadıoğlu in general, he is better player.

I think Kerem will contribute a lot this year, compared to last season. Seferovic's straight presses were very successful, and he contributed greatly to both goals. The pass in the second goal was very good. Seferovic's defense pulled over himself. It was a good practice match for Galatasaray. By the way, according to a friendly match, the support of the tribune to the team was magnificent.
Having a great striker who could pass the ball would make others better as well of course. Kerem is a guy who could score all by himself if he has to and he has done that a few times already, but when you put a striker that can have great passes to him? He will shine even better.

I am guessing another 10-20 million sale by Galatasaray thanks to Seferovic, not because of him alone, Kerem is great, but he will show the greatness in him by passing the ball right into his feet whenever he needs to. That is a talent not many strikers have, most score and they do it well but passing is a talent that is underrated when it comes to strikers which will service them a lot.

The match has ended and interestingly in this match They can win even in the midst of onslaught and are forced to continue to defend.
Currently, if you look at their playing conditions, they are actually still not very good in the game because they still often make passing mistakes and lose possession of the ball which makes it difficult for them to develop the game.
Luckily their counterattack was really good at this so they managed to win.

Galatasaray-Fiorentina match ended in a 2-1 at yesterday. Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Emre Akbaba one scored, also Seferoviç two assisted. İn additiın to, Galatasaray strengthened their midfield by transferring Norwegian midfielder Fredrik Midtsjö. There are rumors that Galatasaray wants to transfer more midfielder.
In this match they continued to be forced to survive throughout the game.
Even if they look pretty good there but I still feel they have a lot of gaps in this. Especially with their low ball possession.
As for the players they have to be extra hard now because last season they played so badly so it's quite natural they made some additions to keep them stable for the league to come next season.

Arthur Masuaku is coming to İstanbul tonight. Beşiktaş will sign a 28-year-old Democratic Congolese left-back. After Rıdvan Yılmaz left, the left-back position was missing. Masuaku and Umut Meraş will now move that area. Arthur Masuaku has been in the Premier League for years with West Ham United. With this move, Beşiktaş will become much stronger. The deal will be in the form of loan and an option to buy. This also lowers the risk for Beşiktaş.
It is a very good move from Besiktas. It can be argued this situation is even better than if Ridvan didn't go. Masuaku played 6 seasons in Premier League. And still not too old. He was born in 1993. When he was playing for Olympiacos around 2014 and 2015, Inter, Juventus and Roma was interested in him but he ended up going to Premier League. He missed preparation period before the season but I think it will be ok. At least due to the World Cup, he will be 100% by the middle of the season. Besiktas did surprisingly good in this transfer season, or I might say better than I expected.

Galatasaray's performance was very poor last season. Perhaps they are trying to stabilize themselves this season. Galatasaray was very tactical against Fiorentina. After going 2-0 up in the first half, they took any risk in the second half. Galatasaray played completely defensively. Fiorentina's players were unable to score despite many attacks. Expect to see consistent performances from Galatasaray next season.
