Congratulations also to Haaland for setting a new record in the Champions League by scoring 5 goals in one game. This result is of course very painful for RB Leipzig but they have to accept the difference in their strength with Manchester city in this match.
It's not up to a year since Erling Haaland came to Manchester City and he's beginning to set different records for himself in football. With these 5 goals scored by Haaland against Leipzig. Haaland has become another player after Lewandowski that have scored 10 goals in a single season for two different clubs(Dortmund and Manchester City).

Haaland is becoming unstoppable with goals. He scores in any slighted given opportunities he sees.
I will be not surprised if he wins the highest goal scorer in the premier league and champion league
Erling Haaland's great positioning and prolific power in front of goal is what I've never doubted despite the recent criticisms. He is naturally born to play in that center forward position and he does it with so much ease but my own only problem with his style of play is his inability to play in deeper positions when the team is having bad game and probably dribble few players and create chances for himself or his teammates to score.

He's always stationed in his top 9 position waiting for great passes come his way so he can convert them. He's a great footballer we know but for him to be seen in the same level with Mbappe, he should be playmaking sometimes.

Now we have only three players with five goals in a Champions League game.

Erling Haaland
Lionel Messi
Luiz Andriano

Haaland could be alone on this list, but Guardiola took him out of the game too early. He could have been removed from the game in the 80th minute, breaking the record after scoring a goal and going into Champions League history alone. Don't give me the excuse of injury, it's funny.
Manchester City showed the difference in quality. There is no team other than Bayern from the German teams that can cope with them. I wonder who they will match in the quarter-finals.

Inzaghi has accomplished his mission that playing at Porto home ground he was bringing Inter to playing more defensive and during the match i can see Inter defensive lines were very discipline to guarded Porto players
Porto played good enough and they created some opportunities especially two head shots in extra times and came very close to an equalize goal for aggregated result. However, luckiness stands with Inter Milan and brings them to quarter final round.

You are actually right on that statement of yours, because following the outcome of last night's game, it was quite impressive seeing Erling Haaland scoring 5 goals straight in a single match, which at such, that amount to the first person to score 10 Championship goals within a short period of 6 games in a  season. While having a total of 33 goals in 25 games since 2018 till date in his Championships race, and at such, taking over from "Ruud van Nistelrooy" of Man-United as the quickest to score 30 goals in 25 championship appearance.
Haaland and Mbappe are making new histories. They are even have better statistics than Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi at age of 23. Together, they will make a new duo race personally between two new super stars. They are making history in their clubs, at domestic leagues and in Champions League as well.

Mbappe just became a new all time scorer for PSG days ago. At his young age, he already scored more than 200 goals for PSG and took over the best scorer position from Ibrahimovic and Cavani. Haaland are making history in Premier League with Manchester City and he are breaking record in Champions League as well.

Manchester really needed E. Haaland to come back like this in an important match. He single-handedly turned the game around. He managed to score five goals alone in this Champions League match.
 E. Haaland 22' (P), 24', 45+2', 53', 57'
İ. Gündoğan 49'
K. De Bruyne 90+2'
Manchester City controlled the match but they ended it more successfully than the first match in Germany. In the second match, they did not give Leipzig chance to comeback. They took advantage of any chance to score goals and destroy mentality of Leipzig and went straight to a big win.

It is different than the first match when they failed to find a second goal and gave Leipzig hope and chance to equalize the match in very late minutes.

Manchester really needed E. Haaland to come back like this in an important match. He single-handedly turned the game around. He managed to score five goals alone in this Champions League match. Manchester City drew 1-1 against RB Leipzig in the previous league so this match was a no-win for Manchester City. However, this match was completely in the possession of Manchester City. 67% possession of the ball and managed to make 23 short shots. In contrast, they managed just four shots, which shows how well Manchester City performed in yesterday's match. Scored successive goals for Manchester City.
 E. Haaland 22' (P), 24', 45+2', 53', 57'
İ. Gündoğan 49'
K. De Bruyne 90+2'
Best of luck to Manchester City, hope they do better in the next round of league matches.

When you've got eyes on goal and your made the top 9 in a club like Manchester, your sure to do well. You just have to be hitting the target and that's what Erling Haaland is good at, getting in front of players and sending the ball in the right direction.

Under Inzaghi this is the best achievement for Inter in champion league because last season Inter only able reach to round of 16 before eliminated by Liverpool and now Italian teams has 2 representative Inter and Milan on quarterfinal and looking forward to see the journey of these teams but i expect they can reach more than quarterfinal

Glad to see my choice was coming true. Porto was not able even make a single goal against intermilan. Intermilan has been qualified for the last 8 as we all manchester city by winning with very big scores against leipzig. It must be a very easy prediction. It's better for porto to keep trining to execute the golden chance that came to the club. I meant to look at how it was so hard for porto against intermilan. Glad to see that haaland was making 5 scores alone against leipzig. it seems like that the performance in the bundesliga was also affecting the performance from the club in UCL.
Inter were lucky to not receive a late goal and undergone extra time. Porto being unlucky during the game and mainly at the end, the post and the bar saved Inter this time but the result remains poor for them..

I guess that if halaand can add more goals if pep was not deciding to replace him with another player. What a super game from haaland.
Poor Guardiola is being heavily criticised for his decision and called indirectly traitor and preventing Haaland from scoring 6 goals so he can bypass Messi record and just not tying with him. Well I think that Guardiola decision was normal personally.
Porto is lack good players in the attacking lines. Some golden chances already appeared yet porto's players were unable to maximized these chances to be goals. I would not be surprised to see so many critics coming toward guardiola. Halaand can become a player which with most goals in a match.
That's very sad that if pep was doing it. pep can at least try to give him more chances to create his first record in UCL.

To be honest i could not even accept the decision that had already been taken by pep. Haaland can become a new legend in UCL that was surpassing messi or ronaldo.

WTF was wrong with pep.

The strategy being used by manchester city not to use the main squads once the team was playing away was already predicted by guardiola. Guardiola was saving all of the powers to play at home which was giving a big result like that.

Guardiola is actually aware what was the weakness of leipzig after analyzing the first leg.

I can be seen from the strategy that is used by manchester city.

Formation for leg 1

formation for leg 2

From there we can see how pep was rotating bernardo silva and changed mahrez with de bruyne which is very effective to change the play style. This is what i called that pep preparing a surprise for leipzig.
Pep Guardiola is always creative with tactics and formation and this match is not a first time he did it. Mahrez and De Bruyne are different players and De Bruyne tends to play more simply than Mahrez and he can provide more direct attack than Mahrez.

The match is a personal show from Haaland and he has his first small hands in Champions League. With five goals from the match, he has hit the 30th goal mark and has become a youngest player who can touch this achievement by passing through a previous record from Mbappe. It is impressive that both Haaland and Mbappe beat past records from two legendary players Messi and Ronaldo.

With these five goals, Haaland already has 10 goals in Champions League this season and he has good chance to win a best scorer in this season. With maximum 5 matches left, Haaland can break a previous record of Cristiano Ronaldo by scoring more than 15 goals in one season.

Yes, these are three players who scored 5 goals in one game. Maybe Haland is superior to Lionel Messi, because he only got 63 minutes of playing time. Maybe he can add to the number of goals if the opportunity to play the full 90 minutes.
In his heart Erling wanted to stay on the pitch but Pep unfortunately... 6th was within reach.

5 goals are crazy, haaland immediately became the top scorer of the UCL this season and managed to get past Moh Salah and Mbappe, he is the most productive striker in the EPL and in the Champions League, man city is very lucky to have him in the team.
He is a third player create 5 goals on single match uefa champions league which I think a big benefit for a club. if he continue like this on several match, not on champion league only, i thing haaland will be player who can be  next target a real madrid, but only if Manchester city willing to let go. We just need to look him, we know he is easily got injured which is his biggest weakness.

Haaland's positioning was so crazy during the match against leipzig. Very disappointed to see pep was changing him. It seems like that pep was also thinking about potentially getting injured caused by serious fouls by leipzig's players.

leipzig's performance was really poor at that match. Gvardiol performs so bad. I don't even know what kind of media rumored haaland to be linked with several clubs for the upcoming transfer season while he was very happy at manchester city.

Even haaland has made a self-claim statement that he has got super power after destroying leipzig.  Cheesy

Yes halaand seems very happy with Man city and the most important thing is that the team will not give up the player easily, the team will surely do anything to convince him staying at man city and win more titles, champoins league seems very possible for man city this season and u don't really think any club cab stop them right now, even Bayern or real Madrid will find many troubles if they face Manchester city

The formation is very much the same but, the players made all the difference. He made a fine gamble by swapping his players and the style proved effective in this game. I hope to see something like this from them in the EPL where they've not been there best like they were tonight. 7 goals was way too much but, Leipzig couldn't avoid it, not even a response from them.

Porto vs Inter Milan on the other hand couldn't find a goal. Good for Milan, they made good use of therr first leg to have secured the win and aggregate.

Is it really that important to have that record alone, that is not important anyway. If i would have to guess, then i would say that Haaland is probably pretty happy already today because he scored 5 goals and of course mainly because Manchester City was able to advance into the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Obviously in the end it was a total domination from Manchester City and a result of 7-0 is absolutely historical but i also have to say, that the first goal of ManCity today still feels pretty weird to me. Even in the replay it was barely visible, that the player of Leipzig touched the ball with his hand. So the VAR should have not interfered here. Maybe the match would have taken a completely different turn then, but i doubt that.

In the end Inter got a ticket to advance to the next round after holding Porto to a draw. Congratulations to Inter.

Did you watch the game? Porto wasted too many opportunities and 2 balls hit the post in extra time. They were very unlucky. The game could've gone to extra time. Inter got away with their poor defense.

Haaland is such a humble guy. I can't imagine Messi or Ronaldo to be subbed in 60th minute. They always want to stay in the game until the last whistle. Haaland could've broken a lot of records tonight if he had played for 90 minutes.

Porto did their best though and Inter played like a 'normal' Italian team by defending so tight. Too bad that hit-post shots and the red card given, also the yellow card to Conceicao. It obviously distracted their concentration in the injury time. With the performance Inter were showing in both legs against Porto, I don't think they will go any further. I wont be surprised if they lose to Juventus this weekend.
Big kudos to Inter Milan for perfecting their defense line tonight though I must say that they rode on the back of luck tonight. Porto did hit the woodwork twice when I joined to watch the last minutes of the match of which if they had scored those goals, the out come of the match would've been very different.

Porto will be very disappointed for not just winning the match but also for not being able to score a goal in their own home turf. Though they won but I think Inter Milan must improve their performance if they want to go far in the Champions League this season.
