They are just wasting time with Potter right now and the season is going on terrible for them in every tournament. I really hope they would come out the mess soon enough though.
This is a very poor excuse, even if we assume he is right then his job is to fix the problems Chelsea was going through and improve their performance and the results they were getting, and so far this has not happened despite the very high amount of money Chelsea has spent bringing the players he asked for, so unless he can improve the performance of Chelsea on the short term he is bound to eventually lose the support of the owners and get fired.I really hope they would come out the mess soon enough though.
I think that Graham Potter has also entered into same situation. Potter could be lucky that the new signings could bring him fortune and he will change the narrative in the club.

I don't blame Potter for the excuses he is giving. I blame the new chelsea owner who feels he can just assign a championship coach from anywhere and give him 5 years contract without giving regards to his Portfollio.since the ownership by Abramohvic, Chelsea has remain a big club that does not joke with it's image, but this current situation has added bad paintings on the club which I don't thing can be undone with Potter remaining as the head coach. I wrote at the beginning of the season about where it all came from and we will see similar tragedies every season. There are too many top clubs in the Premier League. See for yourself: United, Liverpool, Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Tottenham, now also Newcastle. Actually Dortmund conditions also is not so different because some of their important key players still got injured but the difference is Dortmund can managed this situation and they can able to performing stable and for this match in my opinion Dortmund probably will attempts not to concede a goal and probably they will aiming draw result
