Half time

  • Inter Milan 0 vs 0 FC Porto
  • RB Leipzig 0 vs 1 Manchester City

Seems boring match this time about two matches result awhile on first time because only Manchester City scored one goal, difference with last night where have excited match between Liverpool vs Real Madrid have four goals in first half with score 2-2. FC Porto and RB Leipzig looks try with playing defensive and make attacking when have opportunity, lest waiting with second half for both matches will any goals added although I am not excited for watching on second half.

The first half for two matches in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 has come to an end.
with a score of 0-1 for the RB Leipzig vs Man City match (Man City's advantage) and 0-0 for the Inter Milan vs Porto match.

Inter Milan played quite well. but still in the first round not seen high aggressiveness. so the game seems a little boring. But for Man city he continues to control the game. However, not many good chances were created in the first half. I hope the second half of the match will be more interesting.

Real Madrid had a big win last night, I can certainly give them the title of Champions league giants with these performance and other outstanding performances in the recent years, though Liverpool started well but were very poor defensively to concede 5 goals and throwing away a 2 goal lead. I’m disappointed at Liverpool’s performance, they had a good game in the English premier league, I thought they would bring that energy to the champions league. Now it is even more difficult to win after the second leg with aggregate.
You watch Real Madrid in the UCL, you would find a different Real Madrid in the Laliga and you would ask yourself,  what's the difference?
At the very least, it is the same team and the clubs in the UCL are top teams compared to teams in the Laliga but, the level of competition Real Madrid puts in the UCL is top class. 5 goals, I so didn't expect that. Goalkeeper errors on both ends that resulted in goals, that some karma in the game and after Vini Jnr had his brace, I was looking out for Karim Benzema and he came through with a brace too. Benzema is such a charismatic player and his surly leading the Real Madrid team to greater heights.

Seeing Vini with the number 20 on his back reminds me a lot of Higuain. El Pipa really liked to make that play: he dribbles the goalkeeper and goes inside. Vini is faster and it doesn't work out for him.Like Higuaín, Vini misses a lot of chances, with the difference that Pipa did much better with that move, he almost always scored it and all the Real Madrid fans were happy.
The problem is that he failed in the most important games, like against Lyon in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

Manchester City led by 1 goal after scoring from a passing mistake made at the back of RB Leipzig. Manchester City took control of the game by continuing to press in the half. With this goal, it should have made RB Leipzig bolder to attack, because if they continue to hold back in deep defense, it will be more difficult for them to equalize by relying solely on counterattacks. But with a risk because by attacking definitely a gap in the defense line will open.
the game was quite interesting for Manchester City in the first leg because playing at the Leipzig headquarters Manchester City was able to control well the course of the match where Pep Guardiola foster children were able to record 75% possession statistics in the first half and Mahrez opened the scoring for Manchester City in the 27th minute.

strangely for Leipzig they haven't managed a single attempted attack for Manchester City in the first half. I think there will be a lot of goals in this match that will occur in the second half if the game from Leipzig is more enduring in the second half later. Haaland had several chances in the first half but he didn't finish well.

Leipzig looked different in this match they did nothing in 45 minutes just look at the statistics, it's clear that Macnhesyer City dominates from all sides
as the home team Leipzig should take advantage of this moment to get points because in the 2nd leg they won't be able to do much City must have done the same
In another match between Inter and Porto it seems that there has been no change in the score both teams played more carefully.

Is just 20mins into the game and Manchester City are already leading by a goal difference courtesy of rihad mahrez. I knew Manchester City are going to win this game because Leipzig are a little inexperience when it come to playing in the champions league and they don't stand a chance against this high attacking Manchester City side. I think haaland is still going to input his name in today's score sheet. Leipzig can only try and stop more goals from coming because with current tempo of the match they are definitely more goals coming from both sides.

Real Madrid is indeed able to show extraordinary mentality. Ancelotti's team is one of the teams that often wins comebacks after previously falling behind in the Champions League match. So with a victory with a fairly landslide score, it is very likely that Madird has locked a ticket to the quarter-finals. Then for Liverpool, their era can be said to be over.
The surprising thing about the Real Madrid team is, how they manage to stay calm even in the face of impending danger, it amazes me! Ancelotti too shows little reactions to this. His always as calm as ever and have great believe in his team. From 2 goals down to another stronge side like Liverpool, to scoring 5 goals without any response from Liverpool and beating them in a 2:5 goals Real Madrid win. Its something only Real Madrid can do and not just for a time but, over and over again.
Klopp is sure to have learnt a thing or two from yesterday's disappointment. This tells how his team has deteriorated!
That is a really good point. We have witnessed it so many times now. As you have said, they stay calm in these situations and even in the away games. That is one of the great things about Real Madrid. And I think they manage to do this with their key veteran players like Modric and Benzema. Modric plays extraordinarily good, even in the old age. He must be one of the few players every team and every coach in the world would want on their team. The presence of Modric in the midfield gives a lot of confidence to Real. He is extremely clever, very technical. There is not one wasted pass in the match by him. He literally almost played perfectly.

Great victory for Real Madrid. This team cannot be stopped. They might win another edition of the UEFA Champions League.
Trent Alexander Arnold was horrible at defending his zone and almost all attacks by Real were there.
David Alaba was also bad at defense, but his injury and the replacement by Nacho stabilized Real's defense and had a tremendous impact over the game. Vinicius Jr. and Benzema are unstoppable in attack. Valverde also did a great job.
What surprised me is Thibaut Courtois making mistakes. This isn't normal for him. Anyway, great game with lots of goals. It was real pleasure for the football fans to watch.

First half I didn't have much hope for Madrid after they lost 2-0 until the twentieth minute. I think Liverpool will again add a lot of more goals. But it turns out that I was wrong Real Madrid is amazing. They can turn things around. The three-goal gap is quite large at the moment Madrid have put one foot in the next phase. Even this result is beyond my prediction, because Madrid have been in trouble in the last few games. So this three-goal difference makes me very happy because I'm playing madrid.

I expect a clear victory by Manchester City tonight. I don't think Leipzig have the strength to resist them much now. I'm aware of how good Leipzig have been in the Bundesliga. And they have done quite a good job in the Champions League as well. They defeated Real Madrid home in a group match. However I think this is the end for them. Besides Real Madrid wouldn't lose that match to them easily if it was a much more important match for them.

Leipzig will come across one of the biggest challenges in the Champions League and fail most probably. A victory by two goals for Manchester City seems nice to me.
The kick off starts now even though they are currently playing away but I have no doubts about Manchester City especially with the current conditions.
Kevin De Bruyne was unable to play in this game but this did not weaken Manchester City and now the minutes went by it looked like Manchester City wanted to create conditions where they had to save more balls.

The absence of Kevin De Bruyne will certainly reduce creativity in the midfield, because the brain of Manchester City's game lies with the Belgian player. But of course Pep Guardiola has prepared an alternative to cover the hole left by KDB and it is clear that the scheme that will be played will be slightly different.

Manchester City are indeed very favored in tonight's match, but of course Leipzig will not just give up, they will definitely take advantage of all situations to win in the first leg which takes place at their own turf.

The Leipzig-Manchester City match is about to start and Manchester City are without their attack organizer in the KDB midfield which is indeed not in the line up as well as substitute players. Even though there are indeed a number of players who can replace this, I still think the impact will be there for them in the absence of this player as a regulator of attack and supply of passes for strikers.

I think Leipzig is an easy tie for Manchester city to win without debruyne. With the teams depth and haaland firing; a victory in Germany is expected by every better. I think city will have a 4-2 victory in Germany; The Inter vs Porto tie meanwhile would end in a stalement or slim victory as both teams are presently struggling

But seriously, I think that was the beginning of the end for Klopp now. Or maybe said differently, the end of the end. The beginning of the end is their performance in the Premier League. Now losing 2:5 in a home game after a lead with two goals, I am shocked and Klopp is probably, too.
Everyone associated with Liverpool is shocked, you don't lose in that way in front of your home crowd, because at the end of the day it wouldn't be the defeat (or imminent elimination) that matters, but how possible (and quickly) can you pick yourselves up and get ready for the busy schedule ahead, with games set to start coming thick and fast. I don't know for how long before we start seeing agitations for Klopp to be fired, i know he has given Liverpool quite a lot to cheer for in recent years, but the performances this season is unacceptable and i'm pretty sure sooner or later the board would make that unequivocally known to him.
Having this type of result shouldn't cause Klopp to be fired, that is really not the solution to it. First of all, a few of these goals were pure luck based, they just had very unlucky game, sure their own second goal was luck too and Salah was there to score it, but at the end of the day Klopp is the one that took them to this level anyway.

If we are disappointed by Liverpool losing this badly, that is because Klopp made them into a good team, if he wasn't there, Liverpool may not be even in this level, could be a team like Spurs at most, and that is why it's quite important to remember that Klopp is owed so much for the club and should be given another season.

The discussion surrounding Klopp to be fired is not about this single game against Real Madrid. Liverpool is 8th in the Premier League, they are out of the FA Cup and they are essentially out of the Champions League. Liverpool makes childish mistakes at times. They have no comeback quality these days. They throw away significant leads during the games. They tie and lose against teams from the bottom of the table. This doesn't sound all that good and please consider that I am a fan of Jurgen Klopp. I have been for a very long time, but sometimes there is just nothing a coach can give to a club anymore. This result of 2:5 in a home game is not like it was close and unlucky. Liverpool also got one goal for free when Courtois failed so hard. And when you then still can't benefit from that, it is a bad sign if you ask me. I would give him a couple of weeks to see what is possible and firing him during the season probably doesn't make sense anyway.

In less than half an hour there will be Inter vs Porto, the last time these two teams met in the round of 16 it finished 3-1 for Inter with a hat-trick from Adriano "the emperor". but lately Porto has been the bete noire of the Italian teams involved in the Champions League, they eliminated Roma in 2019 Juventus in 2021 and last year they eliminated Milan in the group stage. I hope to see an exciting match, I think Inter have a stronger team on paper but Porto are really tough, who knows! I bet on the over 2.5

I think I am a very disappointed person with the result of the match between Liverpool vs Real Madrid because I supported Liverpool in that match even when they were leading 2-0 I was happy about that, But that didn't come true when the result was 2-5 where Real Madrid  came out victorious in that fight.

On the one hand I am disappointed and on the one hand I am very amazed at what the Real Madrid players did because they were surprisingly able to turn things around and it was an extraordinary task performed by the Real Madrid players in that match. real madrid is truly king in the champions league.

I attribute the poor result to Liveerpool defenders. Manchester city or Manchester united will not do such careless favour in champion league round of 16. Considering 5 goals after netting two goals is not a mistake club like Liverpool should make at that level. I wonder if they will have such luck of scoring an away goal as I know Carlo Anceloti boys will be so deadly in Santiago Bernabeu.
I agree with you that defense is the main mistake of Liverpool's defeat that's very strange to see Liverpool conceded 5 goals at home they should be able to control the game. If Liverpool only conceded 2 goals and drew I thought it could still be tolerated but what happened was really beyond our expectations, I don't think Liverpool have a chance in the second leg as you said there is no way to beat Real Madrid when playing at the Bernabeu Stadium unless Madrid get a bad day playing with 9 players  Cheesy I have to say goodbye Liverpool .
Anyway, I'm fed up with Liverpool's game, especially in defense with a 2-goal advantage in advance, why are they worse off conceding 5 goals at home? What is clear is that their defense is worse than being able to control the opponent's movements.

To be honest, we expected the same for the second leg. The chance to qualify is very unlikely because after all, Real Madrid at home will be even more ferocious and to say a miracle, I don't think it will happen.
So Liverpool's hopes in the Champions League are very slim to qualify even in H2H terms they haven't won much from Real Madrid and we have to admit that.
