English teams are struggling this season in the Champions League. Liverpool, Manchester City and tottenham have all struggled even in the Europa league Manchester United has struggled. I think it might be because they play a lot more games in a short time compared to other major leagues and they have a lot of cup matches.
At first I predicted that Manchester City would be England's mainstay representative in the Champions League this season, but it turned out that my prediction was wrong and RB Leipzig's defense which was quite good in that match made it difficult for Pep Guardiola's team. Erling Haaland's movements were guarded quite tightly by RB Leipzig players, making it difficult for Erling Haaland to find space to score goals and without Bruyne's presence, Manchester City's midfield also did not develop much.

Liverpool are already out but I think Manchester City should have enough quality to beat RB and they should have scored more yesterday. Haaland performed badly and should have had a couple of goals but he does not seem the same player when he does not have the delivery from Kevin De Brunye.
Liverpool will certainly be eliminated to qualify for the next round, because the score of 5-2 is a big enough number to turn things around in the second leg, moreover Liverpool will travel to Real Madrid's headquarters which is quite haunted for that match, it is certain that Liverpool will not be able to do much in that fight.

Manchester City's chances are still much bigger because the second leg will take place at the Etihad Stadium and most likely Kevin De Brunye can already play, Haaland's development at Manchester City is inseparable from the contribution of assists and passes provided by Kevin De Brunye, so Erling Haaland only focuses on scoring goals with a few touches of the ball in every match, without the presence of Kevin De Brunye it is clear how Erling Haaland's condition is, which is difficult to find space to score goals.

Nobody can can guess the result of the coming match correctly , only with luck.
And yes i guess we will see in the next game between Manchester City and Leipzig other teams as we have seen days ago.
I think that Leipzig will be try to play straight forward in City and that they will play very agressiv , its also possible that we maybe we will see a penaltie shoot.
Exactly, because the favorite team doesn't always a good play. Yes, It seems indeed Leipzig will play more aggressiv at home City, they don't want lose a good moment to qualify. But Manchester City at home will not disappoint the fans, they will also try to be a better there. So the second leg will probably be more interesting to watch, but I'm going to take my guess for City win in second leg, hopefully it's a good result.

Manchester City couldn't stick to the plan very well last night honestly. They should have done much better than this.

Especially the second half was very bad for Manchester City. They let Leipzig players come too many times and finally Leipzig turned one of these goal chances to an equalizer. I think it was a little debatable goal given to them there. Because it seemed like there was a foul situation while Gvardiol was going for a header. Anyway Manchester City still should have scored more goals than this. Haaland couldn't get the passes he would like and he didn't have much goal chance in this. Gundogan was so close to scoring the winning goal but the goalkeeper made a great save.

I still think Manchester City will win comfortably in Etihad and finish the job though.

This 1-1 draw made the game in the second leg even more exciting, Leipzig will play more enthusiastically to get a place in the quarterfinals. On paper, Manchester City has everything superior to Leipzig, but who can guess the results of the match correctly.

Manchester City did not play badly in the first half, but they conceded in the second half. Leipzig defended well and did not concede many goals, which is a success for them. I won't be surprised if we see a surprise result in the second match. Everyone thinks that Manchester City will easily win their home game, but if Leipzig has a good strategy, they can win the game
Leipzig are not a bad club, but like everyone else I think they will be unlucky in the return game. Manchester City have played poor away games recently, but they play much better at home. Although even in the last match their stats were better than Leipzig's. I think they can win the next game, although I agree that the unexpected outcome of the match cannot be ruled out.
Leipzig success in holding Manchester City to a draw is proof that their club really has the motivation not to be daunted by Manchester City's achievements. From these results, it is certain that leg 2 will be a mature consideration for Leipzig. At least they are very careful even though it is difficult to beat Manchester City at home later. Pep Guardiola said they were disappointed with this result because they saw that their players were not very effective in attack. Haaland also did not perform optimally in that match. The absence of Kevin De Bruyne has had a major impact on Manchester City's attack sector. Mahrez needs the right ball supply and that has to be Kevin De Bruyne.
Well, Guardiola should primarily blame himself for this result. As is often the case with him, instead of building up the advantage and giving the task to the players to pass to Haaland, who is very dependent on passes, although he was open in this game, but the other players ignored him and played some strange soccer, descending into individual actions, while the skill as De Bruyne has no other players. Only once Gundogan was able to shine, the rest was a very sad game by Manchester City and it's good that they did not lose away at all. Maybe City as well as Liverpool are having a hard time at the moment, the feeling is that City players just do not want to play.

The game is still open even though Manchester City are the favorites to go through but Leipzig could pull off surprises. Luckily for them the away goal advantage in longer used. They could just sit comfortably and maybe have to counter Manchester city when the opportunities arrived. City look shaky on counter yesterday which clearly shows that without Debruyne they suffer to create clear cut chances. How city will perform in the second leg will greatly be influenced by Debruyne. I expect a Leipzig passage to the last eights should he not be available

Its seems RB Leipzig not really bad performance because success held draw Manchester City are bigger team, have opportunity on second leg for both team have the same chance for qualifying to quarter final although RB Leipzig have away to Manchester City. All matches on 16th round seems Real Madrid have get one step to quarter final round after bigger winning against Liverpool 2-5, still have Benfica with two goals winning on the first leg and seems potential qualify to next round than other matches won 1 goals and have several matches with draw.

RB Leipzig chance still open yet because draw and not counted away goals give advantage facing for second leg and unbelievable with Manchester City get failure in the first leg.

Inter - Porto should have been a both teams to score game but surprisingly , Inter played a great game last night and overall a well deserved victory for them. I also think they will give 100% of what is left from them in order to go as deep as they can in UCL ...maybe even reaching a final but that would be mega hard for them.

Man.City ...another game that made Pep angry as the goal was clearly a goalkeeper mistake that in the end , cost them 3 points and gave Salzburg a few extra chances for next game.

There is no hope for Liverpool if they want to overturn Real Madrid's aggregate difference at the Santiago Bernabeu. To score just 2 goals is already impossible for Jurgen Klopp's squad,
Nothing is actually impossible to happen, This is same Liverpool that turned around 3-0 zero defeat at Camp Nou and cam back to won Barcelona with 4-0 at their home. The problem and the fact is that Liverpool is not in form and their performance has been so poor both in the league and in the Champions League, which really affected them to lost during their last game with Madrid.

madrid is a scary team, even though liverpool was very happy because in the first 15 minutes they managed to lead 2-0 through nunez' goal in minute 4' and moh salah's goal in minute 14' but before the first half was over, that all changed.  with an aggregate of 5-2, it seems that Liverpool's chances of winning in leg 2 are very small, Madrid's journey to the next round of the UCL is very smooth.

This is the strength of the team like Madrid they have a strong mentality conceding in the early minutes did not make them go down
I agree with you Liverpool will stop at this stage Madrid only need a draw in the second leg and Real Madrid will wait for the next opponent

There is no hope for Liverpool if they want to overturn Real Madrid's aggregate difference at the Santiago Bernabeu. To score just 2 goals is already impossible for Jurgen Klopp's squad, moreover they need at least 3 goals so that their aggregate acquisition is the same as Real Madrid and continues in extra time. The winner was decided in the first leg at Anfield yesterday and that doesn't change the fact that Real Madrid are the Kings of the UCL and also the Kings of Europe.

Initially, I was quite optimistic that City would overthrow Leipzig with a landslide score in this match. moreover, City had taken the lead in the 27th minute by Riyad Mahrez's goal. Leipzig were forced to play open after City went ahead. in fact, City controlled 74% ball possession in the first half. however, to be honest, this match went a little beyond my prediction, even though City actually dominated the match until the match ended, but unfortunately, City had difficulty breaking through the Leipzig defense, which was quite disciplined.

Meanwhile, Leipzig as the home team showed quite impressive resistance. after falling behind earlier, Leipzig were much more aggressive than in the first half. they put up a fierce resistance, until in the end the home team was able to equalize at 1-1. This result is clearly beyond our prediction. I even thought that Haaland would contribute a goal. as a result, we lost the bet.

After the first matches in the Champions League, an interesting image emerged. English teams had unsuccessful results in the first matches. Honestly, Chelsea and Tottenham didn't surprise me because both teams were having unstable results in the league, but Liverpool's helplessness against Real Madrid and Manchester City's performance in Leipzig came as a bit of a surprise to me. All English teams except Liverpool will play the second game at home. All three teams can pass this tour, but I think the closest English team to pass the tour will be Manchester.

The already conceded goals by Liverpool wouldn't help them in the next Anfield match, 3 goals is really a big goal for any team to make a comeback; had it been it is the other way round that Liverpool was the winner in the first leg, I would have been confidence that Real Madrid would try anything to beat Liverpool in that second round, that circle is too small to accomplish that mission when we all know that Real Madrid would seek for more goals that day.

Manchester City may actually have more goals in the next match against Leipzig because even by their ball possession, Manchester City had more, I don't know why Tottenham failed to score a goal with all the opportunity they had, perhaps the Penalty had them become weak for Milan but maybe second leg would be different.

Well i think the big problems for the english teams is the fact that the expectations are just way to high. The reason for those high expectations is probably the extremely high amount of money that the english clubs are getting from the tv licensing rights. Because of that huge amounts of money they are spending way to much money on transfer fees.
Just look at the transfers that FC Chelsea made in the winter for example. They have spent 121 Million € for Enzo Fernandez, who has a market value of "only" 55 Million €, but just because you have spent so much money for him does not automatically mean, that he is also performing like a 120 M € player.

When I look at the games played yesterday, Inter beat Porto at home. The match was under Inter's control. Inter had more possession and had more chances to shoot. As such, there wasn't much that Porto could do.  Lukaku scored in the last minutes and Inter won 1-0. Otavio will be suspended for the next match because he received a red card.
Inter were the favorites at home, but I think they just couldn't take as many chances to score more goals. But in any case, Inter are the Italian team most likely to qualify for the quarter-finals this season besides Napoli.

In the other match of the day, Leipzig hosted City. The first half was very peaceful with City in control, attacking a lot and trying to find goals. Mahrez put his team ahead in the 27th minute. In the second half the hosts took control and broke the pressure. The second half ended in a 1-1 draw with a goal scored by Gvardiol. An acceptable result for City.
The result of this match was completely unexpected, and it was an unfair result because Manchester City totally dominated the match. Manchester City didn't make many mistakes, but they seemed to have had little luck creating good chances throughout the match. Leipzig have managed to keep their hopes of qualifying alive, but the second leg will certainly be tough for them at the Etihad Stadium.

City was the only english team that was facing a fairly easy opponents for sure compared with another club like totenham, chelsea and liverpool. Liverpool was facing the most difficult team to be passed in UCL and that's real madrid. I would not be surprised to see that liverpool will not able to make it. Liverpool may go out from UCL next leg. Chelsea is still having a chance caused by it was losing 1-0 against totenham but the chance is quite small at this moment compared with city.
Leipzig is not as easy as you think, they defended well in the first leg by not letting Manchester City score more than 1 goal, so Leipzig is not weak. If you think Leipzig is weak, then City should have managed to win that match by more than 3 goals, meanwhile Manchester City failed to do so even though they are the favorites.

Manchester City's chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals may be higher than any other Premier League team, but Pep Guardiola must really be able to make his squad stronger and bounce back in the second leg at the Etihad. I think City will confirm that at home in mid-March. Now Pep Guardila has the responsibility to increase the team's confidence to be better in the second leg later.

GUARDIOLA REVEALS FULL-TIME RALLYING CALL

Quote
“I said ‘why are your heads down’? Heads up! It was really good. You played the game we should play.

“At the end it could be more of course but this can happen. Sometimes this can happen. We could not always do the control that we need to do.”

Manchester city will qualify for the next stage the league, I don't think this draw Will affect them, Manchester city are more confidence then Leipzig but we can't undermine Leipzig, in champions league any thing can happen and I expect Manchester city to do all they can to beat Leipzig at Etihad in the second leg.

It’s very displeasing that none of the English teams managed to win their first knock out game. Manchester city had the easiest fixture but they couldn’t get maximum points from that game. I’ve been watching Manchester city games this season and it’s obvious that they’ve not been playing like before. Manchester city this season are too open. They're solid when in possession, as the system is regulated and hard to penetrate. Yet when a disruptor comes along and they end up on the back foot, the system doesn't adjust. Really good teams exploit this. Tottenham and Chelsea can get their way back when they face their opponent in London next week. At least they were down with just a goal, so if they put in more effort, they can defeat them at home respectively.
