With Liverpool's performance getting worse and worse in the EPL and now their mentality will get worse when they meet Real Madrid in the last 16 of the UCL. It is not impossible for Liverpool to rise in the match later, but their opponent is Real Madrid with 14 UCL titles, of course they (Liverpool) will try hard if they want to beat Real Madrid. Since this game is taking place over 2 legs this game looks like it will be an unexpected surprise.
Real madrid is far better in almost all of things. Liverpool can't even enter into the top 4 of its domestic league and how can liverpool beat madrid in february? i really doubt if liverpool has a chance to beat madrid. liverpool is starting to show worst performance again and again. People shall understand why real madrid will be winning the match easily against liverpool. Liverpool is underperformance unlike madrid which was slowly going up again.
I agree, realistically by looking at their current performance, it will be a question of how they will be able to beat Real Madrid in their next meeting, moreover they have an impartial record when dealing with the El Real squad. But if you look at this as a football match, where anything can happen, that doesn't mean that Liverpool won't be able to beat Real Madrid.
The problems Liverpool are currently facing are getting more complicated, they don't even seem to be improving in the English league. Even in the last match they had to accept defeat from their opponent which they hoped would win the match.

I don't know for sure what Jurgen Klopp's problems are with his current squad, because if you look at him he has quite promising players.
I don't see Liverpool winning Real Madrid in the quarter finals, they are strong and cannot be judge due to their performance in the EPL because the UCL is different and Liverpool is well experienced in the league but it is not a guarantee that they can win Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are not friendly when it comes to UCL,this is why the club buys good players and a good coach to make sure that they can win UCL at all means, which we have being seeing the results and their victorious performance in achieving this goal. Real Madrid has every advantage and what it takes to win Liverpool as they will qualify to the semi-finals.

With current performance of Liverpool fans it is not surprising seeing the odds favoring Real Madrid but champions league isn’t seeing that way. I could remember Chelsea’s 2021 triumph, they were poor before the round of 16 in their domestic league but things changed in the knockout stages they defeated both Madrid clubs and even Manchester City. This is same Situation with current Liverpool squad if they could get there attackers back fit then I see them battling Real Madrid

For Liverpool, until now, nothing is certain, especially since their performance in the regular league is very bad. Darwin Nunez, who was considered to be able to solve the club's needs, seemed unable to do anything, now perhaps their only hope is Cody Gakpo, who is now ready to fill in Liverpool's attack line.

Liverpool might show totally different performance from the EPL, there were many cases where a team managed to reach advanced rounds in CL while it was suffering in its local league, maybe because the nature of the competition is different. However, playing versus Real Madrid is something that no team wants to, because it's the legend of this tournament. Other teams' fans are still influenced by the last season when Real Madrid wasn't the favorable team to win nonetheless they won.

Looking at how the tournament ended, it was tight, and the players were all battling one another since it was the final, and they were all fighting for the cup, but this time, I believe the home and away factor will diminish the tension.
Real Madrid has a better chance of making it to the quarter-finals than Liverpool because, through experience, they have been here several times and scaled past strong opponents in the previous seasons. Another thing I see as a disadvantage for Liverpool is Mane's absence, to be honest, no one has been able to replicate what that man has done in his prime, even their most recent signee Cody, he is young, but he is not capable of doing what Mane would have done and yet they couldn't increase his wages.

I just read now (forgot which Spanish newspaper was) that Cristiano Ronaldo maybe playing in the Champions League next year if Newcastle manages to qualify which seems pretty easy so far. There is a clause in the latest contract of Ronaldo which permits him to be given on loan to Newcastle as Newcastle is owned by Saudi State Fund and therefore this move can be easily done if Newcastle qualifies.

I know that Ronaldo will be near 39 years of age if that happens and he passes on loan to Newcastle to play both on Premier League and Champions League but I think his physical condition is still at the top and most likely will be still be near the top for the next season.
I think it's true what you've read that Cristiano Ronaldo is rumored to have a special clause at Al Nassr. CR7 is claimed to be able to play in the Champions League next season, for Newcastle United. Reported by Marca, the clause was reportedly given by Al Nassr to Ronaldo, who still wants to play in the Champions League. And Newcastle is a club that the Portuguese player has the potential to defend.

Newcastle United itself became a club that was acquired by PIF or Public Investment Fund, the Saudi Arabian Wealth Reservoir Institution. PIF has an 80 percent stake in The Magpies. That link allowed Al Nassr to allow Ronaldo to play with Newcastle, should the Premier League club qualify for next season's Champions League. but we also don't know going forward whether Newcastle qualify for the Champions league next season, that's all

There will be so many things to happen just like liverpool will have codygakpo as a new player that will enter into the team very soon. It's still too long to know that if liverpool will not able to defeat madrid. Madrid can the advantage from the inconsistent performance that has been showing by liverpool. The only problem is whether liverpool will be going into the better form once cody gakpo will be joining in the squad.
This question is a hard question to be answered. I saw that benzema has been actively playing again with real madrid and it seems like that benzema has fully recovered from his injury.
that's gonna become the worst dream for liverpool as the best striker for last year has been coming back again to the field. Benzema gonna be a very dangerous player that may make liverpool out from UCL
Madrid with the current squad is strong enough. they don't need to make too big modifications to the squad. while Liverpool needs new energy in the team to make them stronger.
we have yet to see how Liverpool performs with their new signings. if they manage to change the game for the better. it's a threat to Madrid. but if the arrival of Gakpo requires adaptation, this is still a nightmare for Liverpool when they have to face Madrid to repeat the previous final match.
Agreed but there's no somethin wrong once the modification will make the team even stronger. I meant if we can see madrid to be a perfect team like a few years ago and why not? Liverpool was struggling with its performance. The result that achieved by liverpool in the domestic league may make it become even worst at the day of match against real madrid. Liverpool has been facing a very big examine for that.
I meant look at what happened with it. it was losing against a small team which is very good for madrid.

Ok, Liverpool is not playing well in the English championship this year, but that will not mean much in the match against Real.
This match with Real is for the Liverpool players the most important match of the season and I am sure that they will play at the highest level, and that we will see uncertain matches.
It is very wrong to underestimate the Liverpool team because of several weaker matches in the English league.
The Champions League is a completely different competition and every team gives their maximum there and Liverpool is a very high quality and dangerous team, with great players like Salah, Van Dijk, Alisson, Arnold, Nunez, Gakpo and others and can beat any team in the world.
Don't forget that Liverpool beat Manchester City in the FA Community Shield 3:1 a few months ago so they should not be underestimated.

We fully understand the underlying reasons why people doubt Liverpool can qualify for the next round by beating Real Madrid. In our opinion, people are looking at Liverpool's performance which is not in their best form in the Premier League which is still very difficult to win especially last night against one of the PL teams they lost 3-1 and that might fall into the category of the most basic thing you mean.

The Champions League is in no way to be confused with the domestic league. It's not just Real Madrid who are respected for the achievements they have made, Liverpool are also a respected team. But it's absurd that no team can beat Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

Of course everyone will refer to the statistics of their matches in their domestic league. and what we saw, that Liverpool really underperformed. so naturally, if the opposing team is superior in the round of 16 later. after all, Madrid is a tough team that has a winning mentality.

From their H2H history, Liverpool were only able to win two matches against madrid. the rest, one draw and five defeats. even so, in football anything can happen even Liverpool could beat Real Madrid in the first leg. so, before this fight starts we can only estimate and predict it.

On the Madrid side, Don Carlo's troop squad is also not really a favorite to win a trophy this season. however, they have proven it and were able to break the pessimism that initially they were not the favorites to win the trophy last season. So, there is still plenty of time for Liverpool to prepare their troops for the round of 16 matches later and so will Real Madrid. for sure, we will be looking forward to this fight soon.

Real madrid know how to play in the UCL so they as defending champions certainly know how to deal with Liverpool as they have met before and Liverpool lost and later Liverpool will meet Real Madrid again in the last 16 of the Champions League against Real Madrid by seeing last night's defeat against Brentford , I'm not sure Liverpool will get their revenge unless they add new players to their attack

To be logic, Liverpool will have smaller chance to beat Real Madrid if their form continue to be worse and worse. They are preparing too bad for big matches with Real Madrid and they usually lose against Real Madrid even when they had good form like the past season Champions League final or another final a few years ago.

They lost some good attacking players by injuries and Darwin Nunez simply is a big disappointed expensive striker for them. In a match with Brentford, how he could miss a chance to score goal for Liverpool when the opponent goal is so opened for him?

In addition, Liverpool have another disadvantage because in Champions League, Real Madrid are always strong. The Champions League air and its traditional song likely to give Real Madrid more confidence and strength that make them harder to be beaten by any team.
I was able to watch the replay of Darwin Nunez's opportunity, you could say that if a striker gets the chance to score when the goal is not being guarded by the goalkeeper, 99% of the time it should be a goal, but I really don't understand whether Darwin Nunez is not ready to appear in the competition regular or UCL, we know that not only against Brentford, even in the previous match, he also often failed to score, even though the opportunity didn't only come once. Real Madrid are in very good shape and I think they will beat any team, especially EPL teams always lose when they meet Real Madrid.

For the past two seasons, Liverpool had the charm to defeat Real Madrid in the Champions League, but they were not able to accomplish this goal. The fact is that there is still a chance that they will be able to beat Real Madrid this season. However, I personally do not believe that this will also be the case this season.

As the season progresses, Real Madrid are looking more impressive than ever and Karim Benzema is in incredible form at the moment. However, if you take a closer look at Liverpool, you will see that they have also brought in new reinforcements, so maybe they have a chance as a result, but in my opinion, they have a 50-50 chance.
Real Madrid has always performed well in the last few seasons in the Champions League. So far, Ancelotti's team is still predicted to be one of the strong candidates as champions, because at the moment they are still very strong and have solid players, but I have a little doubt even though Karim Benzema is currently in his best form.

While Liverpool have managed to recruit new players who have the best quality in their position, the problem is that Cody Gakpo's quality has not been tested and proven in the Champions League, so far neither Real Madrid nor Liverpool have failed to qualify for the next round. But Liverpool have the advantage of playing in the first leg at home.

We fully understand the underlying reasons why people doubt Liverpool can qualify for the next round by beating Real Madrid. We can understand your condition as a Liverpool fan, it's normal to see Liverpool's performance in several matches in the Premier League, another reason is Liverpool's condition is not in the best condition and at the moment they are really struggling to improve their position in the league . However, the Champions League is full of consistency, experience and a winning mentality, which means that Liverpool is also one of those who have these conditions.

I quite agree with the analysis that Liverpool is also one of the clubs that has made history in the Champions League, so far Liverpool have won six times and are in the top three categories as the club that has won the Champions League the most times, and maybe there are still clubs that can beat real madrid and who knows it will be Liverpool this season Grin

I think that yesterday's defeat of Liverpool has shaken their self-confidence very much. Now their backlog from the top 4 is again large and even with the fact that there is still a month and a half before the game with Real, they will not have time to correct this, so this factor of pressure on Liverpool will remain. Real, on the contrary, from the first round after the restart of the season, they have adjusted their business (thanks to the fact that Barcelona lost points) and their prospects look solid.
It is interesting if the events continue to develop as they are developing now (Real shows a reliable game and Liverpool is unstable) whether the bookmakers will change their opinion that Liverpool is the favorite in this pair.

It sounds as if no team can beat Real Madrid in Europe. Come on. We've heard this phrase too many times. We are also very confident that Liverpool can beat Real Madrid in the round of 16 even though most pundits say Real Madrid is too strong for Liverpool to beat.

The game of football is not like math, but what we know is that football is a sport that always emphasizes teamwork. No matter how strong the team is, there is a chance to win.
Let's say Liverpool can't get revenge in the UCL and Real Madrid go through to the next round, but we have to believe that there will be other teams that can stop their journey.
Some pretty basic things make people say Liverpool will have enough trouble beating Real Madrid. On a head to head basis, Real Madrid is still quite ahead of Liverpool, while the conditions in their respective leagues also slightly influence people in making predictions. That's why many football observers try to predict based on the results of previous matches, because this pattern is the most likely to be predicted.

But this time Liverpool have a little advantage, if they are able to take advantage of their home conditions to beat Real Madrid, because the first leg will take place at Anfield on February 22, 2023 and in my opinion Real Madrid will not qualify easily, in the semi-finals or the Champions League final this season.
We fully understand the underlying reasons why people doubt Liverpool can qualify for the next round by beating Real Madrid. I received confirmation today that I have tickets for that game (Real - Liverpool), I'm really excited about it.
I was planning to go to the CL final but couldn't get tickets then.

The game won't be of such importance but is one of the last opportunities to see Modrić play live. I'll try to ask a few people to arrange a meet as well Grin

Now Real Madrid is not a club with star players, now they are very focused on the talents of young players and this has started several years ago after several of their star players started to leave Real Madrid. However, this seems to have paid off very well for Real Madrid, with many young players and a few senior players remaining, they are still very strong until now. For Liverpool, until now, nothing is certain, especially since their performance in the regular league is very bad.
