To be honest, it is difficult to defend Liverpool with their current status, the match will resume next month or in less than 5 weeks and they have yet to get their shit together, for Klopp to admit that it will be difficult for them to climb the top four in EPL tells me that they won't go far after the round of 16 here because looking at their last match against Brentford, Van Dijk sustained another injury that people are speculating will be more serious than the first one, they need those guys now more than ever. Anytime I check Sallah, I don't know where to fit him this season, he didn't travel to the World Cup and hasn't made an impact at his club.
Klopp actually has serious problems with Liverpool and their players. He can not bring them back to normality and when a season moves to latter phase, he will have more pressure to be sacked.

Klopp is a legendary coach in history for Liverpool but nothing can last forever. Klopp can be sacked is a fact, not a dream but so far, his risk is not high yet because we have yet seen his conflicts with Liverpool players on social media. We don't know he actually does not have conflicts with players or he has but things are covered until they will be leaked to social media.

Before World Cup 2022, there are assumptions that some key players of Liverpool like Van Dijk wanted to keep their feet safely and be ready for Word Cup. Now, World Cup 2022 was ended but their performance has yet been improved. We will need a few matches after World Cup 2022 to assess Liverpool but early signals give me a feeling that this season would be a terrible one for them. I have less belief that they will be able to improve and get a position in top four.

Too many injuries, players look so tired and their coach likely is out of solutions to fix things.

Madrid with the current squad is strong enough. they don't need to make too big modifications to the squad. while Liverpool needs new energy in the team to make them stronger.
we have yet to see how Liverpool performs with their new signings. if they manage to change the game for the better. it's a threat to Madrid. but if the arrival of Gakpo requires adaptation, this is still a nightmare for Liverpool when they have to face Madrid to repeat the previous final match.

I think that yesterday's defeat of Liverpool has shaken their self-confidence very much. Now their backlog from the top 4 is again large and even with the fact that there is still a month and a half before the game with Real, they will not have time to correct this, so this factor of pressure on Liverpool will remain. Real, on the contrary, from the first round after the restart of the season, they have adjusted their business (thanks to the fact that Barcelona lost points) and their prospects look solid.
It is interesting if the events continue to develop as they are developing now (Real shows a reliable game and Liverpool is unstable) whether the bookmakers will change their opinion that Liverpool is the favorite in this pair.

I don't understand the problem of Liverpool even with the good players they have and up till this time they keep up struggling to win games. Liverpool is not getting better in performance,  I don't think it will be possible with their performance to challenge Real Madrid.  Liverpool Real Madrid match is going to be a total different game from Liverpool from what it used to be before now. If EPL is hard for Liverpool to win games, I doubt the champions league will be easy.

I just read now (forgot which Spanish newspaper was) that Cristiano Ronaldo maybe playing in the Champions League next year if Newcastle manages to qualify which seems pretty easy so far. There is a clause in the latest contract of Ronaldo which permits him to be given on loan to Newcastle as Newcastle is owned by Saudi State Fund and therefore this move can be easily done if Newcastle qualifies.

I know that Ronaldo will be near 39 years of age if that happens and he passes on loan to Newcastle to play both on Premier League and Champions League but I think his physical condition is still at the top and most likely will be still be near the top for the next season.
I think it's true what you've read that Cristiano Ronaldo is rumored to have a special clause at Al Nassr. CR7 is claimed to be able to play in the Champions League next season, for Newcastle United. Reported by Marca, the clause was reportedly given by Al Nassr to Ronaldo, who still wants to play in the Champions League. And Newcastle is a club that the Portuguese player has the potential to defend.

Newcastle United itself became a club that was acquired by PIF or Public Investment Fund, the Saudi Arabian Wealth Reservoir Institution. PIF has an 80 percent stake in The Magpies. That link allowed Al Nassr to allow Ronaldo to play with Newcastle, should the Premier League club qualify for next season's Champions League. but we also don't know going forward whether Newcastle qualify for the Champions league next season, that's all

all the major sports newspapers confirm this indiscretion on Cristiano Ronaldo's contract with Al Nassr, in my opinion this is a genius of Cristiano Ronaldo's agent, he's going to earn a few million euros and keep a place in the most important competition for club and at 38 he can still remain competitive. For New Castle it remains a hit on the transfer market even though it is preparing to become one of the most competitive clubs in Europe

Now Real Madrid is not a club with star players, now they are very focused on the talents of young players and this has started several years ago after several of their star players started to leave Real Madrid. However, this seems to have paid off very well for Real Madrid, with many young players and a few senior players remaining, they are still very strong until now. For Liverpool, until now, nothing is certain, especially since their performance in the regular league is very bad. Darwin Nunez, who was considered to be able to solve the club's needs, seemed unable to do anything, now perhaps their only hope is Cody Gakpo, who is now ready to fill in Liverpool's attack line.
I'm happy with Real Madrid and the project they have going in the club. They are currently equipping the team with young and talented players not just going after big names and players making the headlines. Football is evolving and we are going into a new era and a new generation of fresh players and so far they are also moving with the trends and it has been paying off for them judging by their results they are getting in the season. Maybe Liverpool should emulate this and prepare not just for this season but for the future too.
Since 5 years ago Real Madrid has always been monitoring the development of young talents around the world, but it seems they prefer to target young players from Brazil, say Vini Jr, Rodrygo, and most recently Endricki, as for other young French players like Tchouameni and Camavinga, all of them are still have a very young age and previously their names had never been heard in the European region. It is undeniable that Real Madrid is now able to compete with other big clubs in Europe even though they are no longer using the services of big players on the football scene. However, what several other strong European clubs have done is just the opposite, they compete with each other to pour out so much money just for players who shine in a short time, I don't have a bad opinion but it's better to imitate Real Madrid's way, of course, this will allow the club to develop gradually and it can save the player's spending budget.

Tottenham have started a quite poor form recently. There is a significant decrease in their performance in their Premier League games and it has caused them to get negative results recently. I have started wondering how this form would reflect on their Champions League matchup against Milan. I know that there is still a long time until that but they don't look like good at all. Kane has still performed solidly and scored so many goals until now. But even his effort isn't enough as long as they don't stay strong as a team.

We don't know about Milan's condition yet as they haven't played a Serie A game after the break ended. But if they have a better form until the first leg then I might start giving more chance to Milan about eliminating them. I'm still saying "might" because Milan didn't seem well against a big team in the group stage - Chelsea.

Tottenham lost a couple of vital points before the break and I expected to see improvements at the resumption of the league but it turns out the team is on the decline,  losing 5 points in two of their league games so far which is really really poor for a team of their calibre. Kane's efforts are not even enough to help Spurs win games.

Yeah Ronaldo still looks strong and ready but it is easier to judge by looks, when he fails to meet expectations it then becomes a problem and critics in the media will troll just like it happened with Manchester United which didn't end well. IMO I think Ronaldo should focus on playing for Al-Nassr where he can meet expected performance level and stay away from critics.

As it stands now, one is not wrong to say that Real Madrid is the champion league's most successful club. They have all it takes to prove their strength in any UCL match, but at the same time, this does not in any way tag them as "the champion league unbeatable". Chelsea was not England's best team last season, but they defeated them. I wouldn't say that Tuchel's boys that won the champion league last season is better than the present Liverpool squad, so for that, I believe Real and Liverpool still have equal proximity to the next round.
The distance is indeed the same for the next round, but the strength is very different between Real Madrid and Liverpool this season. Liverpool still have to improve their squad and how to play better before meeting Real Madrid in the Champions League. Because I see Liverpool being very inconsistent in the Premier League this season so Liverpool will get a difficult match for them in the Champions League if in the near future the Liverpool team doesn't make improvements to a better strategy.

Real Madrid most success the UEFA Champion League winner last season looking on their history from first stage at 16 round phase until final stage always faced with bigger team, ever get doubt from many predicting with Real Madrid can't lead until final but finally Madrid success become the winner last season.

Real Madrid having advantage with drawing against Liverpool, current standing in Primer League still out from top fourth position and having inconsistency performance make Real Madrid have great chance lead to quarter final, but everything can change with Liverpool performance left one month later first leg on 16 round begin between Real Madrid vs Liverpool. I believe with Madrid can continue success achievement last season and back to back become the Champion League winner.

Although the atmosphere of the domestic league and the champions league are different, we are not so sure that Liverpool will still not show their best performance before the big match against Real Madrid on Feb 22, 2023.

There is still plenty of time for Jurgen Klopp to reshape his squad and we still don't understand where the obstacles faced by Darwin Nunez are still difficult to carry out his duties as an attacker in front of goal.
There's still too much time to prepare, but I think Liverpool need to show some consistency in the next few Premier League games, Jurgen Klopp needs to be able to maximize the players they have and change formation a bit to make Liverpool look sharper and especially when Cody Gakpo has started playing.

The defeat against Brentford must be a big evaluation for Jurgen Klopp, because Real Madrid's strength can be said to be far more powerful than the strength possessed by Brentford, this is an opportunity for Liverpool to improve on the weaknesses they have.

Quote
Maybe Nunez will perform well when Liverpool's latest signing Cody Gakpo is played where so far he feels he has not found the right servant.
At first glance, in our view, Klopp must make a slight change in formation from what is usually used.
Liverpool's current weakness, in my opinion, is in the midfield, Thiago, Fabinho and Harvey Elliott have not been able to carry out their duties properly, not many balls are flowing against attackers, lack of intercepts and weaknesses in building attacks, thus making Darwin Nunez less developed. Moreover, Darwin Nunez's characteristics are different from Mohamed Salah's game. These conditions made Darwin Nunez less developed and still had quite a hard time scoring goals in every game.

It is hoped that a slight change in formation and maximizing the abilities of Cody Gakpo can make the front line even sharper, especially for the Uruguayan striker.

Preparing for the future is really important.  Of course, the players trained in football academies are very important.  However, it is necessary to find young players from other countries.  Real Madrid have already signed a deal for Endrick.  Endrick is only 15 years old.  A young star player with incredible potential.  I wish all other teams would do the same.

Real madrid is far better in almost all of things. Liverpool can't even enter into the top 4 of its domestic league and how can liverpool beat madrid in february? i really doubt if liverpool has a chance to beat madrid. liverpool is starting to show worst performance again and again. People shall understand why real madrid will be winning the match easily against liverpool. Liverpool is underperformance unlike madrid which was slowly going up again.

With current performance of Liverpool fans it is not surprising seeing the odds favoring Real Madrid but champions league isn’t seeing that way. I could remember Chelsea’s 2021 triumph, they were poor before the round of 16 in their domestic league but things changed in the knockout stages they defeated both Madrid clubs and even Manchester City. This is same Situation with current Liverpool squad if they could get there attackers back fit then I see them battling Real Madrid

Liverpool coach have to work on their strikers so that they will be perfect in the area of achieving early goals, like  what they did last week in the premier league competition to embraced three points. If Liverpool can make their midfield and defense strong from their next match, it will be difficult for Real Madrid to have opportunity to disgrace them in this match, because they will not allow the mistakes that happened before the break to happen in this match. Real Madrid will definitely feel the change of Liverpool in this match, because Liverpool will make the match difficult for them to win.

I have no doubt that the other big title contenders must be wishing Liverpool to eliminate Real Madrid in this stage.  Grin

Because maybe Real Madrid don't have the strongest squad on paper but they have been reigning in the Champions League for long years. They know how to deal with any kind of opponent here very well. The previous season was a good example for that. They were almost being eliminated by Manchester City though but they even made a comeback in such situation. This is an opportunity for Liverpool to have some revenge on them as well actually. Because Real Madrid have a strong history against them. Liverpool are much stronger here now comparing to their EPL effort. But let's see.  Smiley
I'm not sure Liverpool will be able to take revenge well in Real Madrid's match later, as you said Real Madrid is used to in the UCL so they know how to deal with opponents even though there are not many squad teams who might be better than Liverpool, I'm sure Real Madrid will easily get rid of Liverpool

The money spent by Paris Saint Germain to make them a star-studded team is fantastic, but when it comes to the Champions League, money is not a factor where they will easily get a trophy. So this is what they have to realize, the effort that costs a fantastic amount has not yet brought them a trophy, they have to do homework to achieve their dream achievement in the Champions League.
True, this is not a real benchmark even they are still inferior to the composition of players which are expensive players.
We must know that the Champions League is not only about how rich and how good the quality of the individual is. Even though this does affect them, seeing their condition there are actually other things such as cohesiveness or teamwork and of course their clear experience is still lagging behind.
Current conditions are still uncertain in the top 16. it would be great if they can win against Bayern but if they lose it will only be the same as they can't do much in the Champions League.
The truth is that everything they say is very true, for me it is very relevant that PSG can interpret it as: "We have the best players in the world" but they can't win the UCL, last season they didn't do anything, so this year? how will these guys be? Now they have a big task, which is to beat Bayern, and I think Bayern won't make it very easy for them, in fact they have the full risk of leaving the UCL, and if that happens, how would the Sheikh's team be? With what excuse can they confront him? If with all the money in the world and they still don't win an Orejona, this is something that can take any team by surprise.

Now the conditions are getting more complicated, the defeat to Lens actually makes me more skeptical about PSG's current state because this can also be a reference especially with the absence of their 2 pillars Neymar and Messi this is like saying that they are unable to do their best when there are no 2 players the star and indeed this kind of dependency is seen when there are no great players playing in the core squad.
Their conditions in terms of performance were very good in possession but once again Mbappe himself with all the luxury he had at PSG was in fact unable to bring PSG to victory.

We can understand your condition as a Liverpool fan, it's normal to see Liverpool's performance in several matches in the Premier League, another reason is Liverpool's condition is not in the best condition and at the moment they are really struggling to improve their position in the league . However, the Champions League is full of consistency, experience and a winning mentality, which means that Liverpool is also one of those who have these conditions.
Although the atmosphere of the domestic league and the champions league are different, we are not so sure that Liverpool will still not show their best performance before the big match against Real Madrid on Feb 22, 2023.

At first glance, in our view, Klopp must make a slight change in formation from what is usually used.

We fully understand the underlying reasons why people doubt Liverpool can qualify for the next round by beating Real Madrid. In our opinion, people are looking at Liverpool's performance which is not in their best form in the Premier League which is still very difficult to win especially last night against one of the PL teams they lost 3-1 and that might fall into the category of the most basic thing you mean.

The Champions League is in no way to be confused with the domestic league. It's not just Real Madrid who are respected for the achievements they have made, Liverpool are also a respected team. But it's absurd that no team can beat Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
From their H2H history, Liverpool were only able to win two matches against madrid. the rest, one draw and five defeats. even so, in football anything can happen even Liverpool could beat Real Madrid in the first leg. so, before this fight starts we can only estimate and predict it.
From the available statistical data, it is clear that Real Madrid can be more favored than Liverpool. But the mentality of European champions is also still in Liverpool's DNA. This means that there is still a long time for the Reds to improve their performance and we are still in the stage of waiting for the results of the efforts of Liverpool players. If it is still like this, then to expect to go further in this big tournament we will also doubt.

No doubt, the performance from liverpool become even worst. that was making people are feeling doubt with liverpool to have a chance to win against real madrid. As far as i know that if chelsea was different with liverpool. I think that if this time liverpool will have small chance to win against real madrid. im all in real madrid now. Liverpool was not chelsea and chelsea was not liverpool.
As far as i know that if the striker of liverpool now darwin nunez was also performing so bad. that will make attackers line of liverpool was not a threat for rela madrid

People have already started to talk about a probable Mbappe exit from PSG by this summer. Mbappe's name is called with Real Madrid as usual. They are showing various reasons as a motivation for him to do so. For example, a Champions League title would be one of the strong motivations for him to do so. PSG must also be aware of this situation that they are fully concentrated on getting the title this season. Yes, maybe Mbappe already has a huge contract but they can't rely on just that.

Because Real Madrid also have the financial power to meet his demands easily. So PSG need to worry about the Champions League the most now. Who knows maybe this season might be the last one we are watching him playing for them if they don't win the title.

It has been more than two seasons since Kylian Mbappe has been linked with Real Madrid. In fact, they came very close to signing him, but PSG made him an offer he could not refuse, and he was unable to reject it.

There is no guarantee that that will work this time around as Real Madrid are far more interested in him, and Florentino Pérez is keen to bring him to Madrid if he gets the chance. There is a big reason for PSG not being able to win any of the Champions League competitions, as well as the fact that every player dreams of playing in the Real Madrid jersey one day in his life.

Yeah Real Madrid were even close to signing Mbappe in the previous summer transfer window if he didn't accept a big offer by PSG.

Ancelotti doesn't seem like he is in a big need of signing him these days though. But adding him to the squad would secure Real Madrid's future even more. His skills are not very common among the rest of the players. Mbappe and Haaland are the most attention getting players in today's football. Real Madrid's priority would be Mbappe. If they fail in transferring him then they might go for Haaland as an alternative. But they would need to wait for at least two seasons for him as well.

I don't see Liverpool winning Real Madrid in the quarter finals, they are strong and cannot be judge due to their performance in the EPL because the UCL is different and Liverpool is well experienced in the league but it is not a guarantee that they can win Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are not friendly when it comes to UCL,this is why the club buys good players and a good coach to make sure that they can win UCL at all means, which we have being seeing the results and their victorious performance in achieving this goal. Real Madrid has every advantage and what it takes to win Liverpool as they will qualify to the semi-finals.

We still have three weeks before we start judging who wins this game and qualifies for the next round.
Jurgen Klopp is fielding the right players but they still don't bring results, the reason why he's still being backed is all because of the titles he's won for Liverpool else he deserves to be sacked as he has lost enough Eh ?

Both Liverpool haven't seen themselves doing very at most Liverpool who lost the the 🐝 bees yesterday night, I seem not to understand the problem with Darwin Nunez, man literally misses all of thr chances he's got. God damnit!

In terms of winning for thr next round, if Liverpool don't get to put in improvement in how they play weekend after weekend, believe me they are going down below. I'll still choose Real Madrid though it's football anything can happen.

we have yet to see how Liverpool performs with their new signings. if they manage to change the game for the better. it's a threat to Madrid. but if the arrival of Gakpo requires adaptation, this is still a nightmare for Liverpool when they have to face Madrid to repeat the previous final match.

It is shocking to see Liverpool who gave Manchester City a tough fight for the league trophy until the end of the campaign last season now struggling to win games and secure points to stay up in the top four. I always thought the Issue was Mane's departure but since then Liverpool have made a couple of good signings including Nunez and now Cody Gakpo and thing seem the same. Who would have thought Liverpool will lose 3-1 to Brentford yesterday. If this results keep coming I fear we might be seeing the end of Klopp's era for Liverpool.

To be logic, Liverpool will have smaller chance to beat Real Madrid if their form continue to be worse and worse. They are preparing too bad for big matches with Real Madrid and they usually lose against Real Madrid even when they had good form like the past season Champions League final or another final a few years ago.

They lost some good attacking players by injuries and Darwin Nunez simply is a big disappointed expensive striker for them. In a match with Brentford, how he could miss a chance to score goal for Liverpool when the opponent goal is so opened for him?

In addition, Liverpool have another disadvantage because in Champions League, Real Madrid are always strong. The Champions League air and its traditional song likely to give Real Madrid more confidence and strength that make them harder to be beaten by any team.
It is true that it would be very hard to handle and it would be very very tiring to keep working towards getting better until Real game as well it's not going to be easy. I personally believe that Liverpool will not get better anytime soon, it's going to be tough to beat Real.

However, lets be real and realize that Madrid hasn't been the same team as they were last year neither, lets see how they will be because they are THE team in UCL as we all know, but it's basically two great teams who are not at their best so far. I still think that Real will win, but I do not think that it will be as easy as everyone claims them to be neither, it's going to be harder.
