Furthermore Liverpool will have extra motivation because they will know that finishing in top 4 is difficult in premier league, hence the only way to secure champions league football for next season is to win this competition hence I expect this match to be very competitive.

Benzema has become the key player by real madrid. What you were saying was true but real madrid was not only about benzema. there are lots of player need to be considered as well. Benzema was playing as a key player in real madrid to win so many trophies but this time real madrid is also having a very good team. It can also win even without benzema yet it's not clear whether benzema will able to perform when real madrid will be against liverpool or not. He was missing world cup and i hope he will not miss the chance to face liverpool in the champion league.

everyone is currently focused on the world cup, it seems that it is very early to discuss the champion cup for now let alone predict something that is not really worth discussing, I am a manchester city supporter I think it is much easier for the city to qualify for the final than PSG who will meet Munich and it would be a lot of work to miss it

That is the only reasonable trophy that's left to be won by them.

@makishart while Real Madrid is definitely the favourites, but if Benzema doesn’t recover in time then suddenly the odds maybe boosted for Liverpool hence keep an eye on his injury status. Furthermore Liverpool will have extra motivation because they will know that finishing in top 4 is difficult in premier league, hence the only way to secure champions league football for next season is to win this competition hence I expect this match to be very competitive.
