It is not very logical to compare positions in their respective domestic leagues because of course in this case their domestic league in Australia is clearly very different from the current condition of the EPL.
Chelsea are currently in transition and this is a testament to their new coach.
Actually it's still a bit difficult in my opinion because even if there are a few days to make a strategy with Chelsea it's definitely something short but I think Chelsea will be better than their first game in the UCL.

Matches in the Champions League are difficult to predict because even though their quality is different but at this moment, their quality in their respective leagues cannot be a benchmark but sometimes it can be a good consideration too. At least in the first match it was proven that Chelsea had better quality than Dinamo Zagreb, but in the end even Chelsea couldn't score a goal in that match. So that way, because Chelsea got a new coach which is certainly not easy to start with in a short time, then Salzburg still have a chance to get points whether it's a draw or maybe a win.

Having a first match against past team and team mates is difficult. I believe Dortmund players know how Haaland play but knowing of his habit does not mean they can restrict Haaland in the match. Haaland is strong physically and he can beat most of defenders in face to face situation. Manchester City system is well and their attacking players can put Haaland into face to face opportunities. Salzburg is a really solid team in the champions league and are better each year. But Chelsea must win this game because they are in a really bad position and this win could pull them back to try and fight to pass this group. Not only there because today there are several other big clubs like Madrid and Juventus who will play in the Champions League channel.
Currently City has the upper hand against Dortmund and I still feel it will be another win for City but whether now Haaland's game will be turned off by Dortmund like when Lewandowski faced Bayern or indeed Haaland can shine again as the spearhead of City in this match.
