Bookmakers gave a 5.6 odds on Porto to win, so few people believed that Porto could win, but even fewer people believed that Arsenal would not score a single goal, the odds on this event were about 5 I think. So Arsenal performed in their usual manner, when they lose important matches unexpectedly, at a time when everyone expects victories. After 11 (!) unanswered goals in the EPL in two matches, everyone expected Arsenal to score at least a goal or two, but Arsenal players decided otherwise. I think Arsenal players still lack athletic aggression and character, but I am happy that they conceded only one goal and now at home there is a chance to get back and go further.
Porto did what they do best, played excellent defense and did not allow Arsenal to make a single shot on target. They managed to do it with a team that scored 11 goals in the last two matches. In addition, from the 80th minute Conceicao replaced four players who had strength and Porto managed to score in extra time, it looked cool. Arteta made only one substitution, I don’t know why this decision was made, but in my opinion, with such a weak game in the Attack, changes were needed, perhaps the reason is that he wanted to bring the match to a draw and was afraid to change anything.
I also think that Arteta wanted to hold on to the draw and was afraid to go on the attack, but still Arsenal conceded on 94 minutes, which once again proves that you can not win the game if the team sits in defense and if Mourinho's Chelsea in his time it worked, now soccer is more combinative and almost all teams are able to pass even the most defensive orders of the opposing teams.

In general, Porto could have scored earlier, but somehow a Porto player, it seems the same one who will score a goal in the 94th minute, hit the Arsenal goalkeeper from a couple of meters.

Porto in general is a very interesting team, like no big stars, but always almost out of their group in the Champions League and even won the Champions League with their modest opportunities.

There was no winner in the Napoli-Barcelona match.Napoli managed to draw with a terrible game at home.Barcelona has the potential to beat Napoli, but it seems that things are not going well for them either. At least it's a good enough result for Barcelona. They will win the next match at home and go through.
I didn't expect Arsenal to lose.I thought the match was very unpleasant because only 2 of the shots taken by both teams during the 90 minutes were accurate, one of which was a goal in the last minute.Arsenal, despite playing well, couldn't be very effective in front of goal against Porto and left with a goal in the last minute.Arsenal will have to show an extra performance at home now.

Barcelona cannot beat Napoli in this champion league; their performance is not deserving of praise; we previously stated that we should examine how poorly Barcelona has performed in the Liga this season; the players do not have the confidence to win against any team; yes, they played at Napoli home yesterday and scored the first goal, so I will say that they gave it their best shot; however, Napoli also takes the match very seriously, to the point where they would prefer a draw.

The next second leg match will take place at home for Barcelona. Since I don't think Barcelona will win they haven't been trustworthy this season, I won't suggest anyone bet on a Barcelona game because they are a team that can give someone a heart attack. I'm not a fan of Barcelona, but when a big, well-known team doesn't perform well, I used to think they weren't serious.

Before the game I also thought Barcelona would win, but Napoli did well defensiv. In offense there are not many who score the goal, you recognized that well... there is only Osimhen. Barcelona have been better in there last games, they havent lost in 4 games. SSC Napoli have only won one game out of their last 5. A draw is more of a success for Napoli, but Barcelona will win at home at Camp Nou, so I would bet on that. In the next round, two Italian and two Spanish teams should go in the next round, so Inter Milan and Lazio Roma for Italy and Barcelona and Real Madrid for Spain. SSC Napoli and Atletico Madrid will probably be eliminated.

Do not rush to conclusions regarding Inter and especially Lazio. Inter will have a return match in Madrid, this will probably be one of their most difficult and important games this season, and despite the defeat, Atletico's chances of winning at home will be very good. As for Lazio, I think that they have almost no chance against Bayern away, even though Bayern is going through a difficult period now, Bayern must beat Lazio and go on.

The second leg is going to be the right time for bayern to do revenge against lazio but if it will keep performing like shit and i think that bayern has no chance if it keeps to perform like the first leg. I don't know why but it should be the reason why bayern management was sacking tuchel to leave from the club. So, bayern has been burdening its coach to win any competitions. The more competitions winning by bayern and the more respects showed by bayern's officials.
The decision to sack tuchel has been discussed in the last months but people aren't aware of that. I think that you shall not underestimate lazio. Even though it was winning with narrow score but it doesn't mean lazio performed so badly.
I must be honest if there were some players that were performing perfectly.Bayern will be trying so hard under the new coach to beat lazio soon. This is also forcing the situation gives more advantage to the lazio too.
Bayern needs to be careful or it will lose a chance to go to the next stage.

I am yet to forgive Arsenal Fc and Arterta for losing my bet yesterday. Arsenal disappointed a lot of people including myself in that match, they were in great form and anyone could easily predict them to win even with 10 men. Unfortunately, it boils down to the fact that football isn't mathematics and there's no definite formula to calculate the correctness of a team winning a match.
Arsenal better prepares well to beat the Porto team by a wider margin when they play at home, or this might mean more troubles for them.
If we look at their statistics in the EPL they should be able to win that match. They are in very good form. There was nothing that could make them lose that night. I think almost 90% also bet on Arsenal winning and unfortunately the final result was completely beyond our expectations. Porto has a good defense which makes it difficult for Arsenal to find opportunities to shoot at goal. But Porto's attack was also quite poor and they also lost a lot in terms of ball possession. To be honest I thought the match would end in a draw. But surprisingly the goal at the end of the match was truly a game changer.

Porto came to the Emirates stadium with a 1 goal lead. But I'm sure Arsenal will not let Porto progress to the next round.

Arsenal disappointed everyone yesterday with there inability to score, I believe so many gamblers lost there betting on that match because they did not believe that Arsenal will be this inconsistent, however it was actually unlike Arsenal because the Arsenal we use to know on the premier League was totally different from there performance yesterday because is a team that knows how to utilize a scoring opportunities but I was surprised to see how they were struggling to score when they have all the opportunities they needed to score.

Funny enough FC Porto did not even give them much of a serious pressure because Arsenal dominated the match right from the beginning of the match till the end of the match, actually seeing how Arsenal was playing especially on the first half of the match you will think that they will score more than 4 goals on that match because there possession can never be compare with FC Porto, although Arterta pattern or formation was not really helping because that was actually one of the reasons why Arsenal was performing that way which lead to there losing.

Arsenal can never be trusted, when football fans expectations of them are high, the Artera squad suffered defeat.  Reminiscent of their previous group stage defeat to Lens, Arsenal consistency was broken at a time when they were in their best form.  However, there is still hope to turn things around, their chance to qualify for the quarter finals is still open, whether the Emirates will celebrate or mourn is the responsibility of Arteta and his troops.

Arsenal won the previous matches of the Premier League by a large margin. They even won against strong teams like Liverpool. So Arsenal was considered the favorite in this match. Unfortunately Arsenal failed to win this match. We expected better performance from them. But Arsenal players can't play well in this match. I am looking forward to see how Arsenal will perform at home.
Sure, especially since bookies were putting arsenal among the clubs that potentially to winning the competition. This makes people are feeling doubtful to pick porto but we can't deny that if porto was quite strong as well.
It was lucky enough to score during the injury time and it was helping its opponent a lot by this. It was so crazy to see the last minute goal from porto and i was never expecing this thing to haooen too.
The next game is gonna happen in emirates stradium and i think that will become the right place for arsenal to destroy porto. We have seen that this club won the home game many times with huge margins.
This proves that for porto if arsenal is still strong enough. It will be enough to beat porto in the second leg. This is gonna be another ez match to bet on it.

Im feeling so good with the result. It will trigger arsenal to play more seriously in the upcoming game. Porto needs only to get draw to help arsenal to leaev from the club. In another match, barcelona has successfully gettng draw against napoli.
This gives better result caused by the second leg is going to happen away.

It was a very painful defeat for Arsenal. They controlled the game but Porto had an excellent defense. Arsenal didn't even have a shot on target. But the match was a painful defeat for Arsenal because Porto was able to score a goal in the 94th minute. I think the match will end in a draw.

But this result still doesn't put Porto in a safe zone because Arsenal is a strong team and a 1 goal lead will only make a small difference. Arsenal will host the second leg so I think Arsenal still has a chance to turn things around.
Arsenal did have a chance to turn things around in the second leg at home when they hosted FC Porto because from the results of their match yesterday it was also very clear that Arsenal were indeed able to control the ball very well even though it was quite difficult to penetrate FC Porto's defense. And I also agree with what you said that a one goal advantage is not enough capital for FC Porto if in the second leg they cannot score another goal against Arsenal.
Porto managed to break most of the predictions, I believe many people lost their bets in that match, I myself didn't expect Porto to play very disciplined defensively and frustrate Arsenal. Using a defensive style and relying on counter attacks made Arsenal overwhelmed, as proven by this strategy being effective, Porto succeeded in winning the match 1-0 on aggregate. Actually, Arsenal played very well, and Arteta squad dominated the match, but unfortunately they failed to maintain concentration in the final minutes.

Arsenal are in a good trend, but they often suffer shocking defeats like this. There is still a chance for Arteta to take his team through to the quarter finals, because Arsenal will act as hosts in the second leg. However, it is possible that Porto will play the old way in the second leg, parking most of their players in the penalty box area to force Arsenal to a draw. Arteta must find ways so that his squad can create more creativity, and balance equally well when attacking and defending.

I missed out on the game but this was a crucial game, though I settled for highlights, Arsenal dominated the game fulltime but got unlucky when it comes to goals scoring.
You could also say they got a bit lucky since Porto failed to score more because they had more threatening chances. If their player quality is a bit better and they have more composure, I believe Arsenal can be 1-0 down earlier. That's just football, if you fail to score or create any chances then it means nothing, even if you have 70% possession. Kind of weird Arsenal suddenly failed to score after they battered teams in the PL.

Basically, regardless of the fact that Arsenal looks like a big name in football, Porto have more champions experience more than them because i have already stated it earlier before the match that despite the fact that Arsenal have been in a very good form in their domestic league that FC Porto have kept a record in champions league that Arsenal is yet to achieve and considering the fact Porto was playing at home made them very familiar with their play nature that's why it looked like all the efforts Arsenal were making was all in vain because normally, Arsenal dominated the game but their inability to make good attempts towards their opponents goal post made them felt very weak and tired thereby making FC Porto easy to take advantage of their weaknesses and were able to score Arsenal at the die minutes.

Arsenal needs to perform more better when FC Porto comes to the Emirate stadium otherwise Arsenal may find it so difficult just like they did in this 1:0 defeat they suffered to FC Porto so the duty of the coach now is to identify the areas that didn't work out in this first leg and probably change formation and make sure he makes the right features for their returning leg.

You are right, as Arsenal team has shown great performance in last 3/4 matches, no one can imagine that Arsenal can lose in this match. They won by a big margin in the previous matches. Arsenal players dominated every match. Porto were the stronger team, I won't argue that. Even so, Arsenal's defeat cannot be accepted in any way.

Arsenal's match strategy was not good in this match. I would say Arteta was defeated by Porto coach Sérgio Conceição's match tactics. We have seen a sudden deterioration in the performance of Arsenal's attacking players. I still consider Arsenal favorites to qualify for the next round. Arsenal will probably dominate the home match.

Indeed that is Osimhen only position at Napoli because he is aware of his comfort zone, but does not dare to challenge himself to go out and explore other European leagues. Napoli depend on Osimhen contribution so that at all costs they will continue to maintain their goal machine. It is a shame that Barcelona was unable to take advantage of the situation of the Napoli team which was in disarray due to the process of changing coaches. With this 1-1 result, at Barcelona Headquarters Leg 2 will be a gamble for Xavi troops to gain the upper hand.

I wouldn't say Arsenal lost because of inexperience but lack of coordination and Arteta is to blame for all that happened in that game, what stops him from changing a player (Havertz) who isn't in the game and what is Raya still doing as the first choice goalkeeper in the Arsenal squad? Arteta used his own hands to kill the good form of Ramsdale and whenever he's in the goalpost he makes careless errors which is unlike him and I believe if he (Ramsdale) plays like 2-3 games the form would come back and even better.
Arteta is waiting for that moment when Raya will cause a great blunder on the goalpost like in the final of any game that's when he'll think of letting him seat on the bench, I still don't see this goalkeeper as a better choice for Arsenal and the annoying part is that Raya is on loan from Brentford, is so painful and I feel for the England shot stopper Ramsdale. Let's see if the Gunners can turn the game around in the second leg at the Emirates stadium.

Rather than a score of 2-1 or 3-2, a score of 1-0 is better for the home team in the 1st leg and is not detrimental for the away team in the 1st leg.
Arsenal's chance to respond in the second leg at the Emirates Stadium to ensure they qualify for the next round is quite big as long as Arsenal are able to play and take advantage of the slightest gap to score a goal.

Porto after getting a 1-0 result in leg 1, they will try not to lose by a goal margin of more than one and try to score a goal at the Emirates later.
For Arsenal, winning by more than 2 goals is a target they must achieve. If Porto in the second leg plays defensively and only uses counter attacks, this will endanger Arsenal.

It's really shame Arsenal lose against Porto, Porto is not consistent in the domestic league, even though Arsenal is also inconsistent in the domestic league. But there's a big difference between Premier League and Primeira Liga, a top 10 Premier League can beat the champion in Primeira Liga.

It's not funny if Arteta sacrificing Champions League for Premier League.

This is the funniest comment I have come across concerning this match. These two leagues are incomparable actually but it doesn't matter. A team performance in the domestic league is quite different from UCL. Take a look at Madrid for example, even when they are struggling in their domestic league, they don't joke with UCL. Sincerely speaking, Arsenal played yesterday night as if they had no intention to win. I can't even say whether it is poor tactics or something else. None of them even attempt to create a chance at all. Just simple short passes with zero shot on target. Imagine taking numerous corner kicks without succeeding in even one? It was a very bad performance.

They were lucky it ended with just a 1-0 scoreline. Perhaps, things might turn around just like it happened in the group stage against Lens when they lost 2-1 in the first leg and hammered them 6-0 on the returned leg. It's time for Arterta to restrategize and work things out. I don't really understand why he decided to use 12 players for the whole of 96 minutes when he stills has players on bench. I think it makes more sense when everybody in the team is giving a deserving time in order to have the feeling of the competition.

Sacrificing UCL for EPL? Which of the EPL again? The one already lost?  Grin

This is a matter of mental play because in my opinion Porto never stopped being enthusiastic about breaking through the Arsenal defense and in the final minute an extraordinary goal from outside the penalty box. With this advantage, Arteta must provide something different in Leg 2 because that is the only chance if he wants to continue at UCL. Porto success cannot be separated from the coach's tactics of trying to break Arsenal back line, tactically the two are balanced and that should not have happened to Arsenal, who were the favorites from the start.

Porto vs Arsenal 1-0. Arsenal as a whole dominated the game but Porto's very strong defense made it difficult for Arsenal to score goals.
And Porto's 1 goal in the remaining extra time scored by Galeno in the 90+4 minute was a painful goal for Arsenal.

Napoli vs Barcelona 1-1 and Barcelona's goal was scored by Lewandowski in the 60th minute, and Napoli's goal was scored by Osimhen in the 75th minute.

Victor Osimhen is truly a great champion, you can see it from this.
He manages to drag a team that isn't moving by the hair.
If he's well he's a team of his own.
I don't think that under these conditions he will remain in Napoli, he deserves to win titles and increase the prestige of his career.
Indeed that is Osimhen only position at Napoli because he is aware of his comfort zone, but does not dare to challenge himself to go out and explore other European leagues. What FC Porto did to Arsenal in the round of 16 in the UEFA champions league yesterday, really shocked their fans and it really make people to lose hope on Arsenal to lift this trophy because, their coach make use of all their strong players but the game ended up 1:0 for the favour of FC Porto.

Arsenal strikers missed many goals in that game that would have allow the game to end for the favour of Arsenal but they missed used their opportunity for their opponent to take the glory of the game, but there is still chance for Arsenal to correct the mistakes in their next games, if their coach can advise his players not to play selfish game.
