One thing I will be so much interested in this season's champions league is the team that will win the champions league trophy, whether it will be a Seria A tram,or an English team or a Lalliga or Bundesliga team.We all know that the defending champions are Manchester City, and they are an England team which to me means that English team are more dominant than any other team in the world. We know that Mancity is the best team in the world at the moment, but I'm not sure Whether they will be able to defend their champions league tittle,or they will give it up to another team from another league. But I will live it if an English team should win it again.

Since Manchester City won the Manchester City in the last season of the Champions League currently people look at this team as the first chance to win the tournament for another time but the Manchester City we see right now is far from the Manchester City we see in the last season and they lose much power.
Manchester City currently is not in the best form and they are racing with other teams in the premier league while the situation in Manchester City is not as good as other teams.
Personally, I don't think if they can win the Champions League for another time in this season.

If you say Man City is the best team in the world I dont agree and look at how Man City is currently experiencing injury problems to its mainstay players, can this still be the best team? and on the one hand, from La Liga, like Real Madrid, several players were also injured, but some have returned, but Vinicius has not been able to appear because his injury has recurred and there has been no confirmation about the striker who will be brought in, if it is a very reliable player like Osimhen, of course Real Madrid will be the strongest team.
and then Barcelona had financial problems which made it difficult to get quality players.

Bayern Munich may currently be a pretty good candidate for the team because they dont have any problems, even Kane arrival gives them greater strength to win the title in the UCL.
Indeed, this season's UCL is more interesting because it is not yet clear which team will be the strongest candidate. It's just that if Real Madrid can really bring in a quality striker, I'm sure Real Madrid will be the strongest candidate to win the UCL title this season.

After absense 4 years from champion league finally PSV can able to playing at this competition again and they can able to finish at runner up position under Arsenal which make them to qualified at round of 16 and for the match between PSV vs Dortmund i haven't checked the odds yet but i will assume Dortmund will being at the favourite and PSV as the underdog and Dortmund manager Edin Terzic was very confident Dortmund can able to overcomes PSV but i think PSV cannot be underestimate because this team was very strong at Eredivisie with gets 16 winning streak so this match will be so tight

Dortmund is indeed strong but if we look at the last few matches then I think they are unlikely to win. PSV does play in the league which in my opinion has a slight level below the Bundesliga but PSV with 16 consecutive wins of course it proves the quality of PSV which is very superior to Eredivise which proves that they also have qualities like the top level team in Europe. I think PSV will win because I see from Dortmund's pretty bad performance in their last five matches in the league.

I think it is rather the exception than the rule that a team which is performing bad in the domestic league is one of the strongest teams in the Champions League. Yes I know that now some people will come up with examples, like Sevilla and how they won the Europa League last season when they were so bad in La Liga. But where is Sevilla now? They finished their Champions League group with 2 points out of 6 games and got destroyed in almost every game. There is a correlation between the overall performance of a team in the league and the other competitions, but yes there are exceptions of course.
It's hard to say that because we've seen several teams perform extraordinary in the UCL when their performance in their domestic league was very poor, but that only happened to a handful of teams and not forever so we can't draw any conclusions about that, what is certain is that the teams that have Good performance in their domestic league has a much greater percentage or opportunity for them to be able to do the same in the Champions League competition.

I am certainly too lazy to collect any data about that now, but you first said there are several teams with "extraordinary" performance in the UCL while performing very poorly in the domestic league. Then you reduced it to a "handful" of teams. The easiest thing to do would be to provide examples here. Which are all those teams you are talking about? Extraordinary performance in UCL, very poor performance in the domestic league. I admit I can't think of any team at all at the moment. Really the only example that comes to my mind could be Chelsea in the 2020/2021 season when they defeated Manchester City in the final, but it could still be discussed whether their performance in the Premier League could be considered "very poor" that season.

I believe that it rarely happens that a team performs extraordinarily well in the Champions League while playing very poor in the domestic league. There might be some exceptions, but this is nothing I would recall as having happened frequently.

Last season, Man City was the best team. But this season I'm not sure whether they will still hold the title. The Champions League trophy this time will definitely be more difficult to get. The reason is that all teams look strong this season. But one thing that all teams currently have is the problem of team consistency. Some strong teams even have problems with injuries to their club players. Even Man City is not immune from this problem.

The Serie A team that in my opinion still has the potential to win the Champions League title is Inter Milan. Because the other teams that qualified, such as Napoli and Lazio, are not in their best condition this season. Meanwhile, teams from the Premier League are of course much more reliable. But I have a feeling that Inter Milan will make the same achievement as last season, namely making it to the final. And I also see that Bayern can currently surprise and make things difficult for other teams in the Champions League.

Sevilla have got even worse in general this season. Because they aren't only bad in the La Liga now. They had a horrible Champions League period also. It was such a bad time period that they couldn't even qualify for the Europa League by finishing the group in 3rd place at least. They could have left Lens behind with their experience in fact.

That last game in the group between the two sides was critical for that but Sevilla just lost that one too.  Sad  I would have liked to see them in the Europa League honestly as something interesting happens to them there. But I must admit that they didn't deserve to be a part of that competition too this season.

Their next opponent will be Napoli. Luckily Napoli's condition is not as strong as last season so Barcelona still has a chance. Both of them are actually not as strong as usual in previous seasons. But I'm sure they will really go all out in this UCL match. because after all, UCLN is the dream of all clubs to win it.

Although in their four meetings in European competition, Barca has never lost to the Partenopei.
But Napoli are league champions, just like Barca, and I think this will be a difficult match for both of them. There are no favorites in this match.
And I hope both teams will get better before the match is played.
The first leg is on 21 February at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium (Napoli)
So it's the Maradona derby  Grin

Napoli are facing many problems, the forced change of coach last season has upset the balance that had been created.
So I really don't think Napoli have a chance of winning this time, I'm betting on Barcelona.

It is very difficult to predict which team will win the Champions League title. Although Manchester City is considered to be the favorite, the team's performance this season has been erratic. The absence of Haaland and De Bruyne has made their performances even more erratic.
Real Madrid team is playing great in the Champions League. However, they have weaknesses in attack. If Mbappe can be added to the squad, Madrid will be even stronger.
Bayern Munich has a very strong squad. However, Munich is still unable to occupy the top spot in the Bundesliga. So this team is also under some pressure.
Barcelona and Inter Milan have chances to do well. But whether they are favorites for the Champions League is yet to be told. How these two teams will perform in the knockout round is still uncertain.

Both teams will struggle to score early goals in that match, and neither team's performance is such that we can expect them to win easily. Barcelona is struggling to defeat even a small team in La Liga, and Napoli is struggling to defeat a team in the Serie A league. Barcelona is still in fourth place in La Liga, while Napoli is in seventh place in La Liga. It is clear that neither team is strong enough to predict the outcome of the match, and the first leg match will be played in Napoli's field, which Napoli always takes very seriously.

The match could end in a draw because I don't think Napoli wants Barcelona to defeat them, even when Real Madrid meets Napoli, Real Madrid really performs well before defeating Napoli in Napoli field, and the match end 3-2, I think Barcelona have to put more effort when they are playing, I saw a news that Barcelona have signed a new striker player because they don't think Lewandowski can play like before again, I think Barcelona should not have abandoned Lewandowski in this manner. Lewandowski has not been in good shape since returning from injury, and I believe he can still perform at a higher level than he did last season.

Out of the UCL and couldn't make it to the Europa League spot and that's weigh bad news for Sevilla this season, they couldn't accumulate three points needed. Sevilla have suffered from the hands of inconsistent performance and their players giving nothing improving to boost their performance, other than finding good solid performance to enchanced their stats. Sevilla have failed to qualify for the next round of the UCL after falling out. They will have to fight for a spot in important positions on the La Liga table because that's the one way to stay put for another major tournaments.
Sevilla has been quite poor with their performance this season and this cuts across all the leagues where they are participating they have not been able to accumulate good points both in the champions league and in their domestic league aswell so it's obvious they are not able to secure good position at the various leagues unlike last season.

They were better of Las season than they are now, they were able nto qualify for the UCL last season but this season not only did they crash out of the champions league but were unable to qualify for the Europa which happens to be their worst champions league experience in recent times, and at this point one can't really place hand around the reason for Sevillas set back this session as they are even struggling in their domestic league where they are not sure to get to top four which means they may literally not get an opportunity at the next champions league, this shave to be one of the worse seasons for Sevilla.

Without luck it's bullshit. Several teams that reached the Champions League final including Real Madrid because to luck. In one season, Real Madrid lost in the first leg in the knockout round, but they were always able to come back when they played at home in the second leg to reach the final. Isn't that luck other than just hard work and team ability?

Yeah. We can say there’s luck because even if both teams try all the possible best they can, if there’s no luck, none of them will win, so anytime the luckiest team wins the match in every match, however, if there’s no luck, none of them will succeed, but at the same time, performance is also another crucial thing we should observe. Even if we put luck in the first place, performance should also be among them because without the ability of the team to score against the other team seriously, they won't, and again, this performance is what will determine how lucky they are to secure the goals.

Quote
Something like that never happens every season to the same team, in fact last season Real Madrid had to admit defeat to Manchester City until Manchester City finally won its first title in the Champions League. Luck is part of the result of a game, this includes sports and whatever you do.

Manchester City was the favourite team last season. Manchester City was doing very well last season. Manchester City was a team that whatever strong a team is they will defeat them, as of last season. because they were very strong and they were playing with their full squad last season. Although we can also say this is luck, it was their consistency that they did very well last season.

Sevilla's performance this season is quite bad in all the competitions they play so I think it's quite normal for what they experienced in the UCL this season, they really don't deserve to get through the group phase and what I regret is that Sevilla didn't learn from last season when They had a pretty bad performance, but they got an advantage or luck when they managed to win the Europa League.
For at least two seasons, Sevilla has been a pretty bad team, especially in Laliga, because last season their bad performance in the league was somewhat covered up because they managed to become European league champions, while the Champions League doesn't seem like a suitable competition for the Sevilla team, which actually performed very well in the European league.
Financial problems seem to have really damaged this club because even at the end of last season they offered all their main players in the transfer market to save the club's finances so it is quite understandable if they performed poorly this season in all competitions because it is not easy to be an outstanding club with financial problems because Usually clubs will actually use money to make their team perform better, whereas Sevilla is the opposite.

Sevilla's downfall has started from the previous few season its just that in every season there are some things that favor them especially in the trophy race just like last season where they did not perform well and their consistency was very disturbed only they could get the trophy but this season they also did not have an increase in performance and in the end it was even worse than last season considering that this season they did not qualify  for the Champions League and could not seek luck in the Europa League because they were only at the bottom of the standing.

Worse still in domestic competitions they also dont  have anything worth bragging about as they are not in  a good place and i doubt they can be so in this case they can only rely on the Copa del Rey when it comes to competitions and you can imagine its still very difficult.

Copenhagen, Lazio, Porto, PSV and Leipzig get unbalanced opponents, I mean their opponents in the round of 16 are very tough. Of course, without underestimating the meaning of a surprise, the clubs I mentioned will most likely be eliminated early from the Champions League. However, they have the same chance and opportunity to advance to the quarter finals, and the club that is more favored must also be aware of the increasing strength of their opponents.

PSG vs Real Sociedad, I consider it equal even though the depth of the squad is very different, we know PSG current situation. Barcelona vs Napoli, the meeting of the two defending champions is also very evenly matched, representing their respective domestic competitions. Inter vs ATM, although statistically Inter is better, ATM is considered a worthy opponent.

The transfer market will open soon, and the round of 16 matches will start in February. Automatically all contestants will prepare and upgrade their respective strengths. Some clubs with stable financial conditions certainly find it very easy to recruit players, while others are experiencing a crisis that is preventing them from actively moving forward. Madrid, Bayern and City are still many people favorite clubs, waiting for February is very boring.
Talking about PSV opponent Dortmund they have through an group stages from hard group even Dortmund almost not qualified because at the beginning of group stages Dortmund only able to collect 1 points from 2 matches because at that time they were lose from PSG and draw from Milan but after these matches Dortmund can able to bounce back and gets 3 consecutive wins from Newcastle and Milan so this makes they became an group champion and entering pot 1 from drawing stages so PSV will gets hard opponent this time

Well, it's true that luck belonged to Barcelona in the group phase because they were joined by a weak team, making it easier for them to lock their ticket to the round of 16 with the status of group winners. So, in the match in the round of 16, Barcelona will meet Napoli again, so they will probably have difficulty beating Napoli. In the Champions League this season, Barcelona must be able to show their best game to be able to beat their opponents in the round of 16 because Napoli this season will focus their energy only on the Champions League after they had difficulty competing in the domestic league.

Even though in comparison these two teams look equally strong, if you look at their hard work this season, I think Barcelona can go further in the Champions League this season. Xavi will not repeat his mistakes in the Champions League this season because he is supported by many quality players in their team so he must be able to maximize his opportunities as best as possible to beat Napoli in the first leg.
This season everything seems to be different for Barcelona in the Champions League. It can be said that Napoli is not too strong with its new coach, but Xavi must consider it a threat so as not to underestimate the opposing team. Napoli lost a lot of direction in their game, even their best striker Osimhen was not as sharp as last season.

Barcelona has a good opportunity to take advantage of Napoli's weakness and win its away match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in the first leg, while Barcelona must complete its journey by securing victory in the second leg at home. Of course, I can't guarantee that this scenario will actually happen for Barcelona and Napoli because we know both teams have other matches scheduled before the first leg starts in February.

If we talk about luck, it seems to me that Barcelona were helped only by luck that they were able to take the first place in the group, although they did not have strong opponents. If we look at Inter's game, we can say that luck is only a small part of it.
There is no need to debate luck, all teams need it regardless of the good performances of their players in the group phase and in the final match. Barcelona won the group stage this season because of luck, but of course that is not the sole reason why they won the group. Xavi and his players did a good job even when things didn't go to plan. Barcelona couldn't win all their matches like Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but Barcelona qualified as group winners.

Barcelona should find Napoli a worthy opponent in the round of 16, so it's one of the most exciting matches to look forward to. The Inter vs Atletico Madrid match was also good, while Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City didn't have too tough opponents. They are the favorites, except for Barcelona and Napoli which are difficult to predict.
I don't know if it's a matter of luck or not, but Barcelona has shown from the start that they have fought as hard as they could to get through the round of 16 and in the end this struggle results in Barcelona emerging as group winners even though they had the same points as Porto, Barcelona suffered 2 defeated in the phase, Porto also got the same thing in the Champions League group. This was not just a result of luck because in reality Barcelona fought hard in this group stage amidst the storm of injuries experienced by Barcelona.

Barcelona opponent is actually quite a tough opponent when compared to opponent Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayer Munich. In my opinion, in the rounds of 16 it is very visible thats big team like Barcelona, PSG, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid find quite difficults opponent. Even though I expect Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City to get equal opponent so they felt the same pressure, but it turn out that opponent Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City actually had less formidable opponents. So the round of 16 is not too bigs of a challenge for these three tough clubs.
