Maybe the Arne Slot era is different because since the beginning of the season Liverpool is still the strongest club and even until now their performance has not decreased either in the UCL or in the EPL, but we also do not know what will happen to Liverpool in the middle of this season until the final maybe as you said Real Madrid will return to its best performance again and become the main competitor for Liverpool in winning the UCL title I just hope they can meet in the final so that the competition in the UCL feels interesting.
The competition in the UCL will always be interesting even though the team that will appear in the final is not Real Madrid, but for this season I am also still quite sure that Real Madrid can reach the final round if Madrid is able to pass every obstacle in the upcoming round. And for Liverpool itself, it is indeed a bit different from last season so that the Arne Slot era must indeed be considered a fairly good era for Liverpool, but as you said that we also have to see how Liverpool's condition is in the middle of this season and also in the second half of this season.

We have Liverpool on their best run in first half of this season and things are clearly indicating they could be on pole position for the title race as well but still it's long way to go and ups and downs are also part of the game with knock out round has also never been easy for any team because thing could be more competitive for all.
Liverpool must make the failure in the Europa League as the most valuable lesson so that it does not happen again in the UCL, initially they were always consistent in maintaining their performance, after that they had to accept defeat from Atalanta. This scenario must be prevented by being more careful when facing the opponent because when it reaches the knock-out round, there will always be unexpected surprises.
I am very happy with the improvement of Real Madrid's performance, without them no one can challenge the other favorite teams.
Yes, the failure should be a lesson and as you said in the Jurgen Klopp era, Liverpool were only consistent at the beginning and after the middle in all competitions their performance declined. But now Liverpool with Arne Slot whose performance has continued to improve so far and continues to be a very aggressive opponent for the opposing team, but in the UCL anything can happen and there are also many surprises because the UCL is a very prestigious league that is a mainstay and is prioritized for teams in their respective leagues. Real Madrid remains a strong competitor for other favorite teams, and what we must know is that Real Madrid's characteristic in the UCL is that they can always make a comeback and always qualify from round to round even to the final.

I see people who say Liverpool could beat Real Madrid and that's why Real Madrid is not a strong team anymore or people think Real Madrid cannot have any chance in the Champions League because of their losing game against Liverpool while the fact about Real Madrid is they are still a good team and they just need some time to get the players back in the good form and have better performance because right now they have many key players injured in this team which affected their performance in the games we saw from this team.
Also, Real Madrid losing the game doesn't mean they are a weak team but we should pay attention to the recent good performance from Liverpool they are first place in in the Premier League and this shows Real Madrid didn't the game against a weak team but they lost it against a team like Liverpool.
This opinion may be because Liverpool have already beaten Real in this group stage, but I agree that Real is not in optimal form at the moment, and Liverpool, on the contrary, it seems that the team has reached its peak. What will happen next is difficult to predict, maybe Real will strengthen its defense in the off-season and become even more vigorous, while Liverpool will begin to lose its form and at the end of the season everything will change and Real will win this tournament again.

I don't see Liverpool as the favorite to win UCL despite their current form amd their position in the table. This is not EPL and we have several cluba in their various leagues that are performing pretty good. It's from the semifinals that one can predict the club that might win the league this season. It is too early to predict due to some factors that we affect the teams performance in future.

You say Liverpool is not the favorite to win the Champions League trophy then which team is the favorite? As far as I can see, Liverpool is currently the team best team because they getting awesome results in both the Champions League and the Premier League at the same time while even teams like Arsenal and Manchester City couldn't get these good results which is a good reason to say Liverpool is currently in the best form since they started working with Slot.
However this can be hard to predict the winner since there is still a long way ahead for Liverpool, but I see more chance for this team.
Real Madrid is known as the most successful team in the Champions League and Liverpool won the game against this team which means a lot.

Aston Villa played pretty well and he was in the top 5 Champions League and the match standings he would face in the 7th match was Monaco, my personal view was not a team that could be underestimated even though we saw that Monaco was at the lower level With Aston Villa but Monaco also has the ability to reverse unexpected situations in several big matches, but in the match in the match is to qualify for the next round, for a safer position in staring at the future is to be in the top 8 and Aston Villa is very possible out in the top 8 of the standings.
Aston Villa could defeat Bayern Munich and Leipzig, they got a draw against Juventus. I am quite confident with Aston Villa to win against Monaco and Celtic. Sure, Aston Villa shouldn't underestimate them but they must have big chance to defeat them. Since Aston Villa is in the 5th place in UCL league phase, they are likely to continue automatically to the next round. However, it is interesting to see how far Aston Villa to got to the knock-out rounds. This must be harder than the league phase...

Aston Villa is one of the surprising teams in the Champions League this season, compared to other big teams they are actually not much considered, but they have proven that they can compete at the top of the standings and are now preparing to automatically qualify for the round of 16. Yes, they also beat teams that were actually more favored on paper, but their mentality is so good that they can overcome and win matches when they meet other big teams. This is certainly a very valuable capital before they play the 7th and 8th matches in the Champions League this season. In line with you, I also see a great opportunity for them to win.

Matches in the seventh round of the league phase will certainly be decisive for each contestant progress to the round of 16. Several matches seem to attract a lot of attention, because they pit teams with almost equal strength against each other. Among them are the matches between Atletico Madrid versus Leverkusen, and PSG versus Manchester City. In my opinion, those two matches are the most difficult to predict compared to the other 16 matches.

You are absolutely right, playing one game well or winning a few games is not enough to win the Champions League. To win the CL you have to play consistently well every game and Barca is not consistent enough to win the CL. Unfortunately the same is true for Real Madrid at the moment. I don't think any team from Spain can win the CL this year.
Yeah, consistency is actually a strong determinant to achieving great success and that I don't think Barcelona possesses this season. For a truth, Barcelona is one club that have in many occasions this season delivered enough convincing performances that's worthy enough to be considered a strong contender for the European Cup but I don't think they have the level of consistency to win it. Real Madrid also have been inconsistent like you rightly said but I think they're a more serious contender for the European title than Barcelona because they have a better squad with better quality of players.

There are many things that make sense in what you say, but looking at it from a different point of view, Aston Villa have lost many games in a humiliating way, and nobody can deny that, now this match against a Ligue 1 team I think both have chances of winning, I lean towards Aston Villa and that is because it is a team that belongs to the PL and the PL is the football with the highest level so far, so in view of these things you can intuit that they have an advantage over Ligue 1, which for me is not that high a level of football.
Aston villa belonging to the premier league shouldn't and isn't a reason enough to believe or think they have a better chance and would win, against other teams who are. Not from the Premier League like them.  They may have some skillful experience Based on the fact that they are from a very competitive league (Premier league) but if luck goes against them, they could literally suffer losses against their opponent and have no point to go back with at the end of the day.

Yes, to win the championship is not enough to be seen from just one match, there are stages that must be passed to achieve this achievement and consistency in each match is needed, Barca is quite good in the UCL this season because they are in 2nd place in the standings which means they have passed the first stage smoothly unlike Real who had to fight hard to be able to ensure they qualify, but from these two teams I see that the one who will go further is Real even though they are struggling they have a champion mentality unlike Barca, so if they succeed in advancing to R16 I think the opportunity to defend the title for Real is still open.

Of course Barcelona has been playing very poorly lately, but I think they can overcome this in time. Barcelona is a team that has played very successful matches. We remember how they won against Real Madrid. So I think they can always be successful. They may have played badly in recent matches, but that doesn't mean they will always play badly.
They beat Real Madrid, and then what? They won a trophy?
This is exactly the problem with Barcelona in La Liga. The lads and fans maybe thought that it was all over after beat their Arch-rivals, not knowing they weren't even past halfway of the season. Look where they are today.

Champion's League is not won by one game. They have to perform all the way to the final whistle of the finals. IMO, I don't see them reaching even the finals.

Some matches that Aston Villa won in the Champions League were unexpected. Before those matches started, we did not see Aston Villa as the favorite team to win. Still, they ended up winning. Many people did not believe that Aston Villa would perform well in this Champions League because they are new to the competition. Many just saw them as a lucky team that managed to qualify based on their previous performance in their domestic league.

Now that their next match will be against Monaco, I see Aston Villa as the favorite team to win because If we check their statistics and compare them, Aston Villa has a strong chance of winning. If they cannot secure a win, I expect a draw. However, it is also possible for Monaco to win, but their probability of monaco winning is not as high as Aston Villa's chances winning the game.

It is still difficult to predict the course of the match between AS Monaco versus Aston Villa, because the time is still far from the set schedule, with both teams having to play 4 other matches in their respective domestic competitions. Therefore, many things can happen to both teams, which I think can directly affect their chances later. Aston Villa journey in the Champions League this season has been very interesting, no one expected them to be able to survive in the top 8 of the standings until now.

I think, if Aston Villa visits AS Monaco headquarters in their best condition, their chances of securing full points are quite large. The competitive level of the Premier League has made Aston Villa a tough team when competing in the Champions League, but AS Monaco this season has also shown the expected improvement in performance. Overall, both teams have the same chance to reach the last 16 by finishing in the top 8 of the standings or by fighting through the play-off path later.

Matchday 7 as the opening match of 2025 begins with Monaco against Aston Villa and it should be remembered that Aston Villa is currently safe enough to qualify but because there is still a chance of being eliminated so they need to conquer Monaco at home. It will not be easy but I am optimistic that Aston Villa in the Champions League has quite a lot of motivation and has repeatedly shown tight competition against giant teams only losing 1x in the last 6 matches. On the other hand Monaco the final result, whether they lose or win will still be in the play-off zone.
There are almost 20 days until this match. It is not easy to predict this match right now, Aston Villa will play 4 more matches during this time. Both the FA Cup match and the Arsenal match will be during this time and this may cause Aston Villa players to get tired.
Their performance in the Champions League has been quite good so I think they will win this match as well. The opponent is not very strong and Aston Villa will do their best to stay in the top ranks Smiley

Seriously, there is still time before the match starts. And that is why I’m also not talking about the match till now because we don’t know what will happen to any of this team; whether Aston Villa's performance will remain the same or not, nobody knows. That is why I think we should just wait; maybe when the match is near, then compare the team performance, we can be able to predict and know the favourite from there, but as of now, it is still far.

Some matches that Aston Villa won in the Champions League were unexpected. Before those matches started, we did not see Aston Villa as the favorite team to win. Still, they ended up winning. Yeah. Aston Villa's performance in the Champions League is surprising, though, and of course, many people did not expect them to do this well, and you are right; some matches that they won were unexpected, although that is football. Sometimes a team you didn’t expect to win can do the expected and win the match. Their match against Monaco is going to be a difficult one for me to predict, though, because I feel like there is still time before the day of the match, even though Aston Villa is doing great currently.

The match in which Aston Villa will face the Monaco football team may be too late to take place. You are absolutely correct  that Aston Villa is one of the best teams in the UEFA Champions League. But I don't think Aston Villa have a 90 percent chance of winning against Monaco. Aston Villa currently have a lot of points, maybe their players have performed well that's why they have so many points, although they are far up the points table but their points difference with Monaco is not much. Based on the recent performances of Monaco and Aston Villa i.e. both the teams have equal winning percentages in the last five matches they have played.

It's difficult indeed, although lately Aston Villa have really had bad results in the Premier League, especially away games, so that's also a consideration for me. But, that doesn't mean Monaco is good because at least, Monaco also doesn't always manage to get good results at home. But if we consider the odds available, the fact is Monaco still quite favored to win but honestly, I'm not sure about that.

Indeed, by beating Aston Villa, Monaco might be able to move up to a better position, maybe even into the top 8. Because after all, their gap is only three points. With there still being factors that allow both teams to have a chance to win, then of course any result can happen in this match. Betting over 2.5 goals or both teams to score might be a reasonable choice too.

Manchester City and Barcelona crises are not so much different. Do not be fooled by the UCL standings as of now. Let's look at the current form even in the domestic leagues. Do you think Barcelona that at one point had a 9 point league in la liga but are now 2 points behind Atlético Madrid with a game in hand can Reach the UCL final? Dude, they have just one win in their last 6 la liga matches  Grin

Actually we also can't claim that under Arne Slot they won't experience a decline, because they are not at the end of the season and now they are not even halfway through their journey this season, so we can't rush to judge.
I don't mean to underestimate Arne Slot, because after all now it can't be denied that he gave something good to Liverpool. Well, his next job is to maintain what he has created so far, don't let him decline at the end of the season. Because that's not easy to do, especially if they have problems, such as a storm of injuries and so on.
We are yet to enter the heat of the season. Arne is really doing a nice job but my fear is to what extent will this last. The champions league is not like the regular domestic League where a team can dominate the league from start to finish without any competitive contender.

The effort of  Arne Slot so far is commendable. Holding on to a clean record in the UCL has a lot to speak about his potential and ability to contend for the title. But I know for sure the likes of Madrid and Athletico will be a big stopper on their way to the trophy. This season will obviously see a new phase of the competition where predicting the winner becomes even more difficult.

Aston Villa only needs to win in the last 2 matches to stay in the top 8. After a long break, Aston Villa will face Monaco, who have the ability to change the outcome of the match at any time. The 7th and 8th matches of the Champions League are important for every team and this match can be called a big match. Monaco has the ability to perform well in big matches and defeat the opposing team. However, their recent form is a bit of a cause for concern. They have suffered two consecutive defeats, which has pushed them towards struggle. It is natural for their team and performance to change after a long break. Although Aston Villa is ahead in terms of recent form and points, Monaco has the ability to fight with them and win and I believe they can do it.

No matter the distance of days it will take to the match, it is very obvious that Aston Villa will definitely win against Monaco in the game, even though it is a home game for Monaco, but we all know that Aston Villa will try their best to have more points even though they know no matter what they will be among the teams that will be in the round of 16, and we all know that Aston Villa's performance is far better than Monaco's.

Although Monaco might try to put in more effort as it is a home game for them, I still do not have more hope in them that they will be able to win Aston Villa in the game. Although it is just as you said, a bit of pressure will be mounted on Aston Villa due to the games that they will play before they play against Monaco, especially that of Arsenal, which will be just a 3-day interval to the game, but I think if they lost the game, then that will make them put more effort into winning against Monaco.

Real Madrid has its own way of recruiting players, and they are very smart about it. Because, they are aware that Real Madrid is the definition of "TOP brand equity". Just imagine, a player can willingly go to Real Madrid for free and postpone the contract extension with the old club. Just look at what is currently circulating with player Trent Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid is reportedly very interested in the player because this is to strengthen Real Madrid's defense line.
That is only the goal of Trent Alexander-Arnold himself who really wants to go to Real Madrid because he really wants to carve out his career in the Real Madrid team other than in the Liverpool team like now. So we also can't assume all other players are like that because every player does have a certain goal during their career in a team even though every player knows that Real Madrid is a good team to defend. And if Trent Alexander-Arnold can dock at the Real Madrid team, of course Real Madrid's defense condition can be saved a little.
is Trent having a bad time at Liverpool? and is real Madrid currently in a better position in whatever way you look at it than Liverpool? if he chooses to go to real Madrid, it is just because he likes the club and wishes to play for them and never because either the two clubs are worse than themselves. Trent alexander Arnold is a fine defender who can pair will with Rudiger but yet, his pairing with Virgil Vandike also contribute to solidifying the Liverpool defense which is what he will want to continue doing to assisdt them win leagues.
both clubs will have to meet on a mtual ground to decide on the fate of the player but reardless of the outcome and even if he leaves or stays, he will still be in one of the best team in the world.
