You are misinterpreting the data you published. Odds of 6.50 mean a greater chance than odds of 7.0 Barcelona are now literally the third favourite for the title:

Manchester City - 4.50

Real Madrid - 5.50

Barcelona Fc - 6.50

Liverpool - 7.00

Arsenal - 10.00

Fc Bayern Munich - 10.00

And in fact, 6.5 is not much different from 4.5 - the main favorite and 5.5 - the main winner of the Champions League.
Taking into account the decline of the main favorites, I see that the quotes have become much more even.

Brest is so far unbeaten in its last 4 matches in the Champions League against Sturm Graz, Salzburg, Leverkusen and Sparta Prague. But when they play Barcelona, then things could be different and Brest will likely suffer their first defeat. Brest's good performance so far cannot be separated from its relatively easy opponents, but considering that Barcelona is one of the favorites, Brest can't expect too much.

Brest's first defeat in the Champions League can be expected against Barcelona, but I think underestimating a red-hot Brest would be a mistake. Barcelona's performance so far has been very good, but anything can still happen even though Barcelona is actually the favorite to win.

To be honest, I don't agree with your opinion about Bayern Munich's main target this season. Bayern Munich is a team that is always the favorite in the Champions League regardless of who the coach is, so it would not be right if they would only focus on the Bundesliga first before placing their focus on the Champions League. All the top teams target the Champions League title as their main target in Europe, so I think the same thing applies to Bayern Munich, who is being coached by Kompany this season.

I might agree with your opinion if Kompany coached a team like Leipzig or another mid-table team. Even with Dortmund or Leverkusen, Kompany will make the Champions League title the biggest target in his plans this season.

With the way Bayern barely ended up winning the benfica game, it feels like people are not really understanding how much of a big trouble they are in. Obviously they are not looking terrible, but they are not looking like the Bayern they used to be and that is the most important part.

I believe the best way for them to move forward would be just making sure they are changing the coach. I get that Kompany was a test and they wanted to see if they can find a good young coach that will make them better, but a manager position at such a high club is not something to be tested. Now, because of what they did, they are in trouble and while surely a win is a win, it's also more than that and Benfica shouldn't have been such a big deal for them.

This season is a little different with Bayern's journey compared to the previous season because after all, looking at what happened and 2 defeats in 4 matches it is very inversely proportional to what they have always done in the group stage in the previous few seasons. However, this seems to be the case not only for Bayern but also for Madrid because both clubs seem to lose control of the league phase when they should be able to compete better than this.

I really agree with your assumption, when they have better squad depth than now but can't win it, then they will never be able to win it with the current squad. The depth of the squad under Luis Enrique is not very good, of course they don't seem like the typical players who have a strong mentality to compete closely with other top European teams from various leagues.

This season PSG don't look like potential Champions League contenders and I tend to agree that PSG won't make it far into the knockout stages. Even if they pass from this phase, then I think PSG will only reach the quarter-finals instead of the semifinals or final.

Arsenal will face, Sporting and that will be a terrible game for them, Sporting is doing great right now and aside from that Monaco, Zagreb, Girona, games all look like games they should be able to get. If they get 3 more wins that's good enough, and if they somehow win that Girona game then that's going to be amazing of course. I still think with three wins would be enough, but don't know if they will be able to do that. They do have a lot of games in England, so players might be tired by then.
