[...]

Every team definitely has a chance to win, but from the odds picture you provided, it seems like we all have doubts that AC Milan can get their first Champions League win. Bayer Leverkusen is a strong team & they will also be playing a home game, so it will be difficult for AC Milan to get what they want this time.
Every team has played one of their games in the Champions League this season, as well as Milan who previously failed to pick up the first point from Liverpool because Milan had a poor game and performance in the match, so it is difficult for us to say  them have big chance to qualify for the next round of this season, Milan has just got their first win in the league over Inter Milan, but I don't think that guarantees they will be able to Beating Leverkusen in the Champions League later, Leverkusen is not a team we ever known before because in the last few seasons their performance has improved dramatically, although they were not able to maintain an unbeaten record this season but I think it does not show that there is a chance for Milan to get points over Leverkusen in the the match.

Milan is not like Feyenoord so the possibility of winning the home game still has to be considered. As long as both teams have time in a match, both have a chance to score goals and win the match regardless of which home ground they play at.

Milan is also a strong team with many quality players, so I would not underestimate Milan and its chances of winning. Milan's defeat against Liverpool in the first match can be considered normal, of course the quality and depth of the squads of the two teams are different and Milan has a bad record against Liverpool. Moreover, Leverkusen and Milan have never met on the Champions League stage, so perhaps there is a different atmosphere that affects Leverkusen's performance or Milan.

In my opinion, Milan won the derby only because Inter are going through a moment of out of physical form. His players are very tired as I saw, and therefore the quality of the game suffers greatly as well as the results.
Honestly, a perfectly trained team like Inter has no reason to play badly other than tiredness.
Player fatigue is a challenge for big teams in Europe with a fairly short break in the match. it causes some players to experience fitness problems as well as being very susceptible to injury.
I will not see the derby match as Milan's luck. but in fact, Milan worked hard and managed to win it. they were more prepared for the match and they won.
unlike the UCL match when facing Liverpool, they couldn't do much and had to accept defeat. but we'll see how their second match will go against Leverkusen. clearly not an easy match for Milan either, but they have to give their best.

AC Milan performance is very inconsistent and it will be difficult for us to gauge whether they are able to win the next match against Leverkusen. Like their first defeat against Liverpool, then in Serie A they performed impressively by defeating Inter who previously Inter were able to withstand dangerous aggression from Manchester City. Now AC Milan are faced with a challenge that is not easy, Leverkusen do not have experience in the Champions League with the current squad but seeing the success in the first match indicates that Leverkusen do not need to adapt in the Champions League.

In the end, that makes me not take too much risk betting on the Leverkusen vs AC Milan match.

Seeing that Milan have had good wins in their recent games where they even won their Milan derby, it's a good reason to believe that they are going to be in their best form and have their confidence intact, so taking on Leverkusen wouldn't be such a game that they will not have the ability to play confidently, my fears are with Leverkusen actually as they don't exhibit that stability and confidence recently, their game are beginning to look like they are loosing their form but I hope they get rhe spirit of champions League knowing how competitive the game they will be playing is and give their very best.

So far AC Milan's performance has been inconsistent in their domestic league and in the UCL they were humiliated by Liverpool at home, although we agree that every team that competes has a chance, we also have to look at the team that will be faced in this second match, Milan will visit Leverkusen's home, of course Xabi Alonso's team is not an opponent that can be defeated easily. I agree that the chance feels small for Fonseca's squad, I will not expect much from Milan in this match.

I think both home teams are clear favourites, possibly the odds for Milan to win and for PSG to win are quite generous. It wouldn’t surprise me if one of those games is a draw. Leverkusen do concede goals, their last minute winners will not continue forever, logic says so.

Arsenal have no real pedigree in the CL so maybe PSG have a surprise for them, although no Mbappe has lessened their attacking threat.
However, I would doubt Milan and PSG will win in the away match, if a draw is possible in this match, still some bettors will choose the favorite team.

A last minute win for Leverkusen won't last forever but Xabi Alonso always knows when they are a goal down, so even the last chance can be a win for them which is what Leverkusen have under Xabi Alonso.

Arsenal look strong in the Premier League, but when it comes to the Champions League they still struggle to win, is it because they don't have the UCL mentality?

There are still many opportunities for Atalanta to advance to the last 16 because there are still seven more matches to gain points before going to the next round and of the seven matches that Atalanta will face, the toughest are probably only when they face Real Madrid and Barcelona. In addition, there are no opponents who can make it difficult for Atalanta to get full points in this round because apart from Barcelona and Real Madrid, I think the other five teams that Atalanta will face are fairly easy teams for them.
Currently each team has only played 1 match. I think we can't measure the performance of each team because there are still 7 matches. But if we look at the next opponent I agree with you. Atalanta has a chance to qualify for the round of 16 by being in the top 8 in the standings. But there are many other strong teams who will compete for the top 8 positions to qualify for the round of 16 and this is a challenge for Atalanta. So far only Real Madrid and Barcelona are their toughest opponents. But if we talk about Atalanta's chances of qualifying for the next round through the play-offs I am sure they can get it.

Last year Lens beat Arsenal 2-1 and then only Bayern were able to stop Arsenal. We are not saying that Lens is a strong team. Atalanta is a good team, but they are not even close to the pool of teams that play for the title among themselves. Only a very rare set of circumstances can allow Atalanta to claim the title (something like Dortmund reaching the final). Bookmakers estimate Atalanta's chances at 1 in 51.

I was wondering how Atalanta was able to handle Arsenal to the finish with a draw but I was also not too surprised considering that the Atalanta side is in good shape and could have worked hard to hold the Arsenal team tight enough. Ademola Lookman amongst other top strikers have always been players to look forward to whenever we discuss Atalanta of today and how well they're performing. I didn't really expect that they will hold Arsenal to the point of gaining more possessions than the latter but it is always good to equally establish the good efforts and hard work of the manager too.

My opinion remains the same: the games in the new format in the group stage mean much less than in the old format, so we will see a lot of unexpected results as teams understand this and prioritize in favor of national championships. By the way, were you not surprised that City and Inter played a draw? After all, Inter at the beginning of the season looks much weaker than last year, and City looks scary. I think it is for the same reasons.
Watching the Champions League match between Manchester City vs Inter Milan reminded me of the 2022/23 season Champions League final match. In that season of Champions League Inter Milan and Manchester City played in the final and in that match Inter Milan performed better than Manchester City but unfortunately they missed some chances due to which they failed to score against Manchester City. Last September 19 we saw a similar match from Inter Milan against Manchester City as they played against Manchester City in the final if the result of this match was a goalless draw. The match against Inter Milan was a home match for Manchester City so I thought that Manchester City could beat Inter Milan in this match but it didn't happen.

I can't say anything about Real Madrid, their situation this year is a little different. I think they still cannot play football with the quality expected from them. Barcelona, on the other hand, is showing a truly legendary performance. I can say that they are the best team this year. Atalanta is a good team, they haven't made many transfers, but they already have players who play harmoniously with each other. They won't have much chance against Barcelona, but they can win the match against Real Madrid Smiley
Looking at Barcelona's game reminds me a little of the Spanish national team which also used the same pattern of play and the Spanish national team even managed to surprise everyone at EURO 2024. I think Barcelona can also be a team that can be expected to continue to achieve good results starting from the next match. Maybe in the first match they were unlucky because they had to play with 10 players. But in the next match I'm sure they won't make the same mistake. And yeah, when they face Atalanta, I don't think Atalanta has a big chance of beating Barcelona. because Barcelona is currently in their best performance. Meanwhile, Atalanta is not very consistent at the moment. Even in Serie A we see that Atalanta has experienced 3 defeats from a total of 5 matches that have taken place. And I think that even in the UCL, Atalanta probably can't be expected to make things difficult for Barcelona or Real Madrid. And even Real Madrid, which doesn't look optimal, actually I think will still be able to beat Atalanta.

When magic ended, Leverkusen lost their first match in this Bundesliga season. Magic like last season, to help them scoring very late goals and avoid defeats, hardly repeat in this season. AC Milan with their experience in Champions League and with a latest won derby against Inter Milan when they were considered as a weaker team, will be able to exploit Leverkusen's weakness in defense and get not only a draw, but a win from the German club.

Quote
Arsenal have no real pedigree in the CL so maybe PSG have a surprise for them, although no Mbappe has lessened their attacking threat.
Arsenal will meet a strong opponent in Europe, PSG, but they have good defense and can block PSG attacks or counter attacks. In Arsenal attacks, they have diversifying options and can score winning goals from corner kicks. Latest matches show that Arteta prepared different tactics for Arsenal from attacking to defense and his team can score goals from free kicks or corner kicks too.

PSG appear more regularly than Arsenal in Champions League but in this home away match, they have big risk to lose it to Arsenal.

Next week we continue with the second week games after a break. There are some really interesting games are waiting for us.  Smiley

Like Arsenal - PSG and Leverkusen - Milan on Tuesday. Arsenal really couldn't make the kind of a start they would like. They could have even lost to Atalanta if it weren't for David Raya's great saves. PSG also struggled to get ahead against Girona but still won. Considering the odds below, I wasn't expecting the gap to be this big. Bookmakers underestimate PSG a little, don't you think? I even think PSG won't lose so I would rather double chance @2.05.

When it comes to the other game, Leverkusen are highly favoured which is no surprise. Milan are really not trustworthy at all to me. They didn't start well with Fonseca but that win in the Milano derby recently could motivate them more. But I still don't think they can resist Xabi Alonso's students. My choice would be Leverkusen win @1.63.  Smiley

Atalanta's performance in the Champion's League so far has been commendable, especially considering they are the defending Europa League champions. Their chances of advancing to the last 16 are indeed promising, given they need to face only Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, and they have already secured a point against Arsenal.

True, all true, but how much did Atalanta spend? Very little. I believe it is one of the few teams that has spent nothing or almost nothing as it develops players in its spring.
It's clear now that facing Real Madrid (faced) and Barcelona are very difficult challenges, never mind. We will do better next season.
Well that's right. And to be honest, I don't have high hopes for Atalanta at all. Because it seems like they are only busy selling the quality players they have in the transfer market rather than bringing in more quality players to their club. Last season they were extraordinary because they managed to become champions in the European League. But at UCL I think we are all used to seeing Atalanta not being able to progress any further. And I think this will also happen again this season. Against Arsenal it was difficult and they managed to get a draw. but against Real Madrid and Barcelona it will really be very different. it will be much more difficult and I think Atalanta could even drop points. I may be a fan of Italian football but I have to evaluate it realistically. But for other matches, maybe I am quite optimistic about Atalanta. Like in the next match, Atalanta will face Shakhtar and I think it will be a victory for Atalanta.

For now it is too risky to believe in betting on Milan victory because the inconsistent performance is slightly weakening making our bet lose. As we can see at that time you can see Milan unimpressive performance when playing against Liverpool and on the one hand Leverkusen currently has a very strong defense and always has a defensive strategy when they can't beat their opponents.
So it would be better for me to bet on other options such as BTTS or over 3.

Possibly before the match starts I dare to take the risk on Leverkusen victory -1.
Because they draw with their opponent that make you to advise others people not to bet for the favor of AC Milan, if you know the kind strong team Leverkusen are in this tournament, you will praise AC Milan for not allow them to win the game than to draw with them. If you can still flash back last season, you will know that AC Milan didn't started performing well from the beginning of last season until when the season was about to come to an end before they started displayed well to encourage their fans, but they where not able to end the season because Real Madrid was in favourable position to wiin the trophy.

You will see what AC Milan will do in their next season, because their coach will make sure he try other players to start the game so that it can turn for their favor to secure 3 points from the game to use it to encourage their fans that they will go far in this season.

Last season Arsenal also performed extraordinary in the Premier League. Arsenal even beat Man City in several meetings last season in the Premier League and other domestic leagues. And I remember last season many people also hoped that Arsenal would also play very well in the Champions League. But what happened last season seemed to be that Arsenal was not mentally prepared for the big pressure from a big league like the UCL. But this time or this season, I think Arteta has prepared the Arsenal squad much better. And yes, with their current condition, Arsenal will actually be very favored in the UCL. But yes, provided they remain consistent with their performance as they showed in the Premier League.
In this season, we are having Arsenal as a completely different side because they are doing good job and trying to keep things on good level as with in last few seasons they were doing good job in early rounds but at the end they were facing pressure which were hurting them, and they were paying with loses and having no cup but in this season we are having better strategy, and they are doing much better performance which is going to have good impact on their rest of the season.

In game against Atlanta, most people were expecting them to win, but they were not able to score with Atlanta were dominating force, but they handle them on good way, so things are well-balanced in last game against Manchester City they were playing with 10 players in all second half but keep things at the top level which is good success for them with this confidence we can expect good results from them.

Quote
Real Madrid (Spain),
Arsenal (England), Draw
Celtic (Scotland)
Sturm Graz (Austria) at home,
Barcelona (Spain),
Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine),
Young Boys (Switzerland)
Stuttgart (Germany) away.

You're right that Atalanta's toughest opponents will be Real Madrid and Barcelona. They will miss three points against these clubs.

But it's hard to call the rest of their opponents easy to beat. They still have to play a German club (Stuttgart) and a Scandinavian club (YB). Both are hard-to-beat teams. And i expect them to potentially miss points in these matches, too.

And i don't mind with the rest of their opponent, but Celtic may give them trouble.

The both Spanish giants are definitely the toughest teams in that list for Atalanta, and by performance and team's strength, I doubt Atalanta would get a point from any of them but on a second thought their are chances of that happening cause a key player or players from either of both teams could sustain an injury before they meet Atalanta and give Atalanta a boost to steal a point just like they did against Arsenal. Well, Real Madrid recently faced Atalanta and saw how tough it was to beat them so I think they won't take chances this time around, we know how serious they tend to be when it comes to Champions league games, especially now that they've changed the pattern to favour both bigger teams and underdogs. As for Barcelona they're in great form since Flick took over and I'm pretty sure they'll deal with Atalanta, another team am looking out for is Celtic, they're in great form this season and they did well in their last Champions league match, if they beat Dortmund then it would be okay to say that Atlanta won't be an issue for them.

Why you are so confident that AC Milan will win the match against Leverkusen?
Leverkusen may be not as strong as in the previous season but Leverkusen looks stronger than AC Milan. Also, the match will be held in Leverkusen home, Leverkusen will have an advantage. The performance of Leverkusen currently looks more convincing than AC Milan, too. Considering these factors, it is quite doubtful that AC Milan will win against Leverkusen.  Undecided

Leverkusen might be lack of experience in champion league but don't mean AC Milan will be automatically can win from this match~~
Leverkusen squad may be lack of experience but they have a coach who have full of experience in UCL.  Wink
Xabi Alonso should have a plan to improve the mentality of the players in UCL through his experience. TBH, I've no doubt about the mentality of Leverkusen players. I am just worried that Xabi Alonso will apply unexpected strategy anymore. However, playing against AC Milan, I'm very sure that Xabi can lead Leverkusen to win.
