We still remember when Salzburg drew with Bayern Munich in the first leg then in the 2nd leg Munich beat Salzburg with big score 7-1
This moment could be repeated in the 2nd leg between Munich vs Villarreal even Barcelona couldn't score at the Allianz Arena
If you compare it based on experience and ability, Munich is certainly more favourite but Villarreal also had a chance through luck, who knows.
What if Villarreal decides to play defensive in the second leg. Although we know how aggressive Bayern attack could be. All Villarreal needs at the moment is to reenforce ahead of the second. If they can't score more goals they should just hold the game down to a draw and qualify for the quarter finals
Did you forget that Leg 2 Salzburg also applies such a strategy Cheesy
They made a full defensive strategy with a 4-3-1-2 formation with the hope that the 3 midfielders could minimize their defensive area but in the end the result was still the same with a big enough defeat.
even though it's not very good comparing them, but Villarreal's chance is still very small but it will be very good and quite surprising if in the 2nd leg this dark horse can hold Bayern and can advance to the next round

I think the statistics will convince you that Chelsea's downfall is caused by their conceded 7 goals in their last two games at Stamford Bridge. They don't have an owner, so no one has fired anyone, and they do whatever they want. Despite Chelsea's greatness, Real Madrid will win at the Santiago Bernabéu by no means a miracle.
Chelsea is indeed in a state of uncertainty after Abramovich was suspended, but that doesn't seem to be the reason for the defeat to Madrid in my opinion, because after Abramovich was suspended some time ago, Chelsea manage to maintain their positive trend in league , and Is not that they managed to stop the Lille step in the round of 16 convincingly enough?
I personally don't know what was the main reason for Chelsea defeat, but what I certainly saw was that their performance against Madrid was not much different from against Brendford, but what I do think is that the sanction against Abramovich is not the main cause of Chelsea decline in performance in their last two matches.

Villarreal v Bayern Munich match was also really interesting. Because Villarreal played much better than I expected as far as I watched the match. They scored a very early goal and it was due to leaving big spaces in Bayern Munich's defense. And after this goal, Villarreal didn't prefer to try to secure a 1-0 win. They just attacked for more and found many goal chances too. But Bayern Munich were very lucky about not conceding the second. Villarreal were nearly scoring a spectacular goal too but it was disallowed due to offside. I think Villarreal still deserved this 1-0 win fully.

Of the 8 remaining teams, Liverpool is one of the favorites to qualify from this quarter-final. They only need to get a draw in the second leg later, and this is an easy job for them especially they will play the match in front of their own supporters. I even predict they will win again for the second leg later. They are the highest team to qualify from the other teams.
The same is true for Real Madrid, draw or concede a goal, Real Madrid are definitely in to the quarter-finals, and they will play more comfortably in the second leg, to the surprise of Munich, they have to admit Villarreal's one-goal advantage, even the chance to win in the second leg. The second leg will be more difficult, because after all Villareal have bagged a one goal win in the first leg, so it is certain that they will defend and play more openly

What about Real Madrid?
Liverpool's easy win in the 1st leg over Benfica wasn't too surprising, but Real Madrid were able to punish Chelsea in front of their own fans with Karim Benzema's 3 goals which was a surprise. What comes to our minds when Real Madrid will face Chelsea at the Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg?

Liverpool and Real Maldrid are on the same boat at the moment. All the two need to qualify for the Semi finals is a draw or a single goal to win. When Chelsea eventually visits Santiago Bernabeu it will be a completion of what Benzema began at Standford bridge. For Benfica visiting Anfield it will  be difficult to see Benfica turn the game around in the second leg

In total we have 3 teams that have great potential to qualify Liverpool, Madrid & Bayern Munich while Atlético vs Madrid can't be predicted
Even though Manchester City won in the first leg but Atletico can still catchup , one goal difference is not impossible to chase especially when playing at home Atletico have experience beating EPL teams like Manchester United in previous matches.
Not going to credit villarreal? I didn't even watch the game because I thought it would be a breeze for Bayern. But damn, unable to score in champions league and losing their unbeaten run in how many years? Although it will be in Germany and will throw the kitchen sink, just like athletico they will be very defensive and i think are more likely to cause and upset than city.
Other than that I was surprised by the dominance of real Madrid especially at Stanford Bridge 🌉 tuchel after the game expressed his dismay at the team's performance which is back to back losses for tuchel for first time in his career in Chelsea. I don't expect the 13 time champions to loose in Spain.

It's a hard one for Villareal, but I'm going with them providing a great defense since the start of the match, and can hopefully pull it off with a clean net. It will be a nice opportunity to see how Lewandowski matches up to his greatness and expectations. Looking forward to this match!

I'm mostly looking forward though to semi-final rounds starting April 26 between what I believe will be Manchester City - Real Madrid. Take my word we'll have the UEFA champion here after this match.

My prediction for the other semi-final being Villareal - Liverpool, will probably give it to Liverpool.

Looking nice for the end of the greatest tournament of all! Grin

Even though Villarreal got off to a good start against Bayern, they managed to score a goal in the 8th minute and that took Bayern by surprise.
Unfortunately Villarreal could not score again until the match ended, even though Villarreal had quite a few chances. If only Villarreal could score
two more goals, maybe in the second leg Villarreal could play with more confidence. But because Villarreal only won by one goal difference,
it does not guarantee Villarreal will make it through easily to the next round. Because with the experience and quality that Bayern players have,
Bayern should have the opportunity to beat Villarreal in the second leg by a larger goal difference.

Villarreal have a good chance at upsetting the defense of Bayern. Danjuma's goal in the 7th minute helped in boosting their morale; pushing for more goals and tbh that goal that was scored in the second half was not really an offside. Indeed, I feel they have more chances in the second leg more than Salzburg will have.
Bayern will reinforce but I guess last night was not their night.
I have to say congratulations to Villarreal for beating Bayern, apparently they are the first team to beat Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champion's League this season and this is not a easy feat. Anything can happen in the second leg but the hype that was created by Bayern Munich and most football fan have been destroyed by a Villarreal side who's 7th in the La Liga table. I will have to agree that tie is 50-50.

Chelsea FC is going through a difficult phase, which is understandable. Neither creativity nor finishing are good for Chelsea. Perhaps a new formation would be more effective. Psychology-wise, the club is demoralized and discouraged from a variety of angles. Personally, I can't celebrate their current shortcomings and sincerely hope that things get back to normal soon, despite the fact that perhaps it will take a while.
I didn't think they managed to win big at Stamford Bridge.  I think they will struggle against chelsea's style of play. But seeing madrid's performance and Benzema was incredible. Even the first and second goals were incredible. After that Mendy's mistake made chelsea even more depressed. Chelsea defenders' performances seem to need a lot of evaluation, they look to lose running and do not do a tight guard to Benzema. As a result Benzema can make three goals. I think this result made Madrid calmer in the second leg.  But they also have to stay alert and play seriously.

Benfica were an easier opponent than any other team in the quarter-finals, so I also believe that Liverpool can smoothly progress to the semi-finals this season even if their second leg doesn't win the game assuming it ends in a draw.

Apart from Liverpool, I think Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munchen will also have a great chance of reaching the semifinals although it is possible to see the rise of Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and also Villareal's effective play. So I hope only the top teams will reach the semi-finals this season including Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munchen.

Real Madrid giving it to Chelsea in the hard way, What an incredible scoreline from Real Madrid, Benzema doing what he knows how to do best, Benzema is an awesome player. Those two headers were stunning! He's probably staking the claim as the best number nine in football right now and seriously pushing for 2022 Ballon D'or with his consistent clutch performances this season. At this point, he's up there with Lewandowski as best pure striker.
Karim Benzema was phenomenal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night. The Real Madrid striker is indeed living an incredible moment, there's few more decisive men in Europe than him right now maybe Lewandowski. I think at moment he is better than Lewandowski this season. Karim Benzema has scored 81 goals in the UEFA Champion's League and only one is from the  penalty spot, we can't say that with Lewandowski.

Things are gradually falling apart in Chelsea. Now l know the impact for a club to play without the owners and sponsor. lf Abromovic was around Chelsea will not lose the last two matches in Stamford Bridge. UK football authority can see the impact of their sanction against Chelsea. As painful as it is l still support Chelsea at this trier period. There's still hope in the end.

Madrid also won at Stamford Bridge by 2 goals. It looks like they are also favorites to advance to the next round. In the second leg of course the pressure is on Chelsea because they have to play at the Santiago Bernabeu. If chelsea is still the same as today of course they will lose again. The chance to defend the UCL trophy at Stamford Bridge looks impossible. I think many will bet on Madrid in the second leg. But this is my guess, Sometimes football makes a lot of surprises.

They will focus on defense even more seriously than in the first leg. In the second leg, they will start with a minor advantage from the first leg. But they will play at a home stadium of Bayern.

They will cope with more pressure from Bayern fans and their home stadium. Will Villareal manage to survive in Allianz Arena? or will they be destroyed there?
I think it will be, Villarreal will try to maintain the lead they got in the first leg. But Bayern Munich will also attack total to balance the position first. The key for Villarreal was Bayern Munich's first goal, they had to go goalless in the first half to mentally drain Bayern Munich. It's not easy, but it's worth a try.

That is extremely difficult to plan and do against a team like Bayern Munchen which is well known for their great attacking power, especially when they play at home they are really great at attacking and scoring goals.I think it is a suicidal move for Villareal if they go and implement this as strategy for the return match. It is inevitable that they will concede goals this way, they have not the experience to hold back a team like Bayern Munchen.I think the best for them would be to play quietly and not focus only on defense but also in attacking.

Whatever they do I think they will be eliminated in the end.
