It's a bit painful too see that the likes of Toni Kross, Casemiro and Luka Modric are not having enough years much ahead of them, they are the kind of players I'll miss in Real Madrid.
Though Pogba, Cavavimga and Valverde can be possible replacement for them trio's.
Can this be possible ?

Real Madrid for me is already qualified,I thought Chelsea lost the domestic league game before this one in order to have a good performance here which they didn't.Real Madrid completely dominated the game,it appears Chelsea is already suffering from the sanctions put to Russia and their owner Roman Abramovich.

Surprised a bit about the loss of Bayern Munchen yesterday night but is a sure thing for me that they in Germany will win big and qualify further, maybe yesterday it was bad luck more than bad performance for them.

I also think that Bayern Munich's defeat was probably not because they didn't play well but because they were just unlucky.
maybe the second leg they will play at home I'm sure they will win the game at home and they will definitely qualify for the next round

Villarreal only had one shot on target and that's the only goal so maybe what you say is true it's just luck
Very difficult against Munich at home 2nd leg will belong to Munich we don't doubt it

Villarreal would wish they converted those chances. If you have to beat Bayern Munich, you've got to convert every chance you get.

From how Villareal performed yesterday, I am not sure that Bayern Munich will bury them in Allianz Arena. Football is a game of chance and a few miscalculated steps can turn into a historic moment.
Villareal play well and have luck too so they win a big Bayern. In that match, Pau Torres shown that he is a very good central defender and can play at highest level in Champions League. He has improved himself a lot since Euro 2020. In addition, Raul Albion had a good match too and he shown his leadership as well as skills and experience.

Together they made a bongke for Villareal defense and the early goal helped them to play with serious defense too

Bayern will have tons of work to do in Munich in the second leg.

Villarreal did well to win that match but I wonder if they are going to be able to win in the 2nd leg. But I think they really needed to score one and maybe two more goals because in the second leg Bayern Munich is going to come out all guns blazing. It will be really hard for Villarreal to maintain the lead in the second leg for long. I didn't think they will be able to win the first leg, to be honest. and even though they did win the first leg I actually don't give them any chance in the second leg against Bayern Munich.

What is really impressive about Karim Benzema and last night's performance is that the player fasted the entire day and only ate and drank something 13 minutes before match start according to some social media posts I saw yesterday. I don't think he ate a lot because you can't run with a full stomach so close to kick off, but whatever he took it was enough. Maybe 5-6 dates Jordanian dates to get that sugar pumping.

Real Madrid won convincingly thanks to Karim Benzema's hat-trick, Benzema became a nightmare for Chelsea, Benzema's impressive performance managed to bring a victory for Real Madrid. A thanks to 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge, Real Madrid's legs are already on the side of the semifinals, although there are still a second leg to play, Chelsea will have a hard time turned things around when they play at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Chelsea is going through hard times. This proves their next defeat. First, Chelsea lost in the Premier League with a crushing score, and then in the Champions League again by a wide margin.

Real Madrid is one of the strongest team and it was difficult to fight against it. In any case, it was a worthy spectacle and I love when a lot of goals are scored in football.
The tough times Chelsea went through at the wrong time, the 4-1 loss to Brentford could not be a lesson for Thomas Tuchel.  Furthermore, Chelsea was beaten by Real Madrid again with a score of 3-1, I think Thomas Tuchel should be responsible for the two consecutive defeats that Chelsea experienced. Real Madrid's victory at Stamford Bridge was a means of revenge for Real Madrid loss to Chelsea a last season.

This match will be a very interesting spectacle for real madrid supporters, because one of the stars owned by Real madrid managed to score a hat-trick. Meanwhile, Chelsea supporters will berate their coach because the tactics applied cannot stop Benzema from scoring goals.

This was just wow actually, and if you see the high points of the game, they mostly belonged to Villareal too. Hitting the post, missing the goal not by much, and just look at the way the chances were created. I knew they were better than expected against Juventus but I thought this was more down to Juventus playing so terrible,,, but this is proof that Villareal deserve to be in the quarterfinals.

I still think Bayern will win big though.

many teams deserve to pass, they often play better and with more passion
but then, bad luck, lack of experience does not make you hit the target
it's something that happens and that makes this game so beautiful and interesting

in any case I think like you, Bayern will win

This reminded me of the Salzburg game. I think Bayern Munich will win very easily at home.

I didn't think Real Madrid would win so easily, it was supposed to be the toughest game of the last 16.
although Munich appeared more dominant, we can see how the attack designed by Munich was successfully anticipated by the Villarreal defense.
Danjuma's goal at the start of the match made it difficult for Munich to equalize until the game was over. we can see from 22 shots only 4 are on target. Where are Lewandowski and Muller?

I am very happy for Villarreal and I loved that they didn't go full defensive mode against Bayern Munich, they went after it. Only regret they should've won by 2 or 3 goals. They had the most and the best chances. They controlled the tempo of the game. While Bayern plays with their normal adrenaline, villareal plays the ball on the pitch, low key swift passes to kill the adrenaline. Villarreal were confident, though. Defensively, they were compact, and every defender dealt with the Bayern's threat with aplomb. The pressure is now on for Bayern to turn things around in Allianz Arena.
Yes, it was very good game. Villareal did how one should play in a Champions League quarter final. It will indeed be a problem that they didn't score more goals. We saw already in Bayern vs Salzburg that Bayern doesn't need two good games to move on to the next round, especially when not many goals are needed to equalize the result of the first game. Despite this Villareal is in a better situation than Salzburg and also a stronger team, they will have a realistic chance to beat Bayern.
Villarreal would wish they converted those chances. If you have to beat Bayern Munich, you've got to convert every chance you get. That's how Real Madrid beat them. I don't see them doing any damage at Bayern's home. Looking at what happened to Salzburg, I am afraid that Villarreal might regret not finishing this tie off when they had every chance to do so. They made a mistake yesterday, they had the chances to score at least 5 goals yesterday but failed to capitalize on their chances. From how Villareal performed yesterday, I am not sure that Bayern Munich will bury them in Allianz Arena. Football is a game of chance and a few miscalculated steps can turn into a historic moment.

Well this is football and every chance should be converted to goals as the only thing that matters is the number of goals scored during the match and not how skillfully a club play during the game, playing better football doesn't increase club points on the table so Villarreal should put in extra effort in scoring more goals in their next match.

Pretty happy with this, not cashing out with 30 mins to play, may the jinx gods stay away.
Credit score I add to this player he really is a nightmare for his opponents. the moves he makes always result in good things.
this is again a massacre for Chelsea after previously in the domestic league got the same result

Yeah, best bet I've made for weeks, huge bookie error in my opinion. Only problem is now they'll be the favs on the return leg so I don't expect great odds again.

Benzema reminds everyone that you don't ask an "aging" striker not to high press because at this level, you scupper a world-class keeper like he did and you get your reward. Bloody hell that was good (and I didn't even see it live).

@Emitdrama I'll be the first to prefer 6-2 over 2-0, but these days I feel like Klopp prefers the clean sheet and comfortable cushion, because when you're chasing titles on 4 fronts, you want to conserve and get an airtight defence, so your keeper at least doesn't get a heart attack haha. I love goals like the next guy, but give me 1-0 wins all the way to the finals of all the competitions left for us and I'll take it in a hearbeat.

It's was a good performance on the part of Villarreal against such a terrifying Bayern. They didn't seem much like themselves on the pitch yesterday at Bayern, from the way there balls were being intercepted and most of all, Villarreal had a goal on them and did put Bayern under much pressure. I guess that's the more reason why they won, they came out to play, utilised there home advantage and turned the game to there favour.

The bad news is, we can't expect the same performance and kind of result for Villarreal when they go to play in Allianz Arena. The odds would still be high never the less for Villarreal because its sure to be a Bayern game. A goal  difference is still small for the champions of Bundesliga.

Yes, it is more than probable. They just need "good old Lewandowski". Games like yesterday's does not help him in his travel to Madrid...
But we cannot say it was just a bad day, he was very well stopped/blocked by Villareal players.

Karim Benzema has scored an amazing hat-trick against Chelsea's star team, even though there is a Leg 2 match but Real Madrid already have 2 scores to make it easier to advance to the Semi Finals, I am still optimistic that Real Madrid will enter the semifinals because in the last match Leg 2 for Chelsea will be difficult to turn things around.

I didn't expect Real Madrid to play so well against Chelsea. And, as always, Karim Benzema did well, scoring all three goals. So far, I see Manchester City, Real Madrid or Liverpool in the final. These are three clubs that have shown a very high level of football and deserve to play in the final!

Villarreal surprise me. They beat Juventus and now Bayern Munich. If this continues, they will be the ultimate surprise team in the Champions League. The early goal in the 8th minute was well played and if the 2:0 just before the break hadn't been offside, it would have been a very difficult return match for Bayern. But now, they can always score 1 goal.

Good work from Villarreal led him to win this match, they are also certain to have more advantages in the second leg later. The problem is Bayern Munich is not an easy team to give tickets to the Champions League semi-finals. We remember in the round of 16, they were unexpectedly held to a draw but in the second leg they responded with a landslide score. Villarreal must prepare a strategy to reduce it.
I was even surprised when I saw Villarreal able to win against Bayern Munich, however Villarreal should not be happy just yet because Bayern Munich is a club that often beats its opponents by many goals and this has been proven in several matches including when they beat Barcelona 8-2 which also in the Champions League in the past.
So Villarreal should not be happy about their victory, especially since the number of goals they have scored is only one.
The score could have been more than one goal, Villarreal squandered many of their scoring chances to seal the match unfortunately couldn't utilize them, Bayern were shadow of former self they couldn't register any shot on goal in the first half,  my fear is that Villarreal playing Bayern at Allianz Arena would be very difficult for them in the second leg, infact playing defensively there might be counterproductive for Villarreal, I believe Emery has his own game plan, however I give credit to them for defeating an experience Bayern team who had always dominated UCL every season reaching semifinals stages, the second leg will be very competitive.

It's true that Villarreal should have scored more than one goal, because there were 2 big chances from Gerard Moreno that failed to finish well.
Although Villarreal only won by a difference of one goal, and Villarreal's position is not safe, but what they beat was Bayern who are very experienced
in the Champions League competition. So this Villarreal win is a very good result, and of course can increase the confidence of Villarreal players
for the second leg match.

The Bayern vs Villarreal match in the second leg is definitely very interesting, because I sure Bayern will attack  immediately from the early minutes of
the match. Bayern are unlikely to let them get knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and it is likely Villarreal will play defensively
to expect the match to end in a draw. But we know Bayern often win big at home, since the group stage they beat Dynamo Kyiv, Benfica and Barcelona
with big scores. Even Bayern managed to get rid of Salzburg in the round of 16 with an aggregate of 8-2. So I'm very optimistic that Bayern can
beat Villarreal with a big score in the second leg.
