Benzema is on fire

And this one is straight after his ridiculous heroics in the last round. The way he's going in the Champions League this season, he's really looking like one of the most important players in the world. Astonishing, he could pull Madrid all the way if he carries out n like this.

If Real Madrid manage to make it to the Champions League title, Benzema is going to have the biggest role and contribution in this that's for certain. He is an absolute goal machine now and it doesn't seem like he will stop any time. They will most probably eliminate Chelsea in this round. And no matter their opponent in the semi finals is Manchester City or Atletico Madrid, I have started to think that Real Madrid can be one step ahead. It is just going to be depending on keeping this effort level.
It's too early to just compare one game because Real Madrid was saved by Benzema who beat Chelsea, then it's as if the other Clubs have nothing to show for it? I think this is still ongoing and competition will always come first. In fact, there is still Man City which in this case is seeded, then Liverpool. So for Real Madrid it will be difficult if they just continue to rely on Benzema. Then what if without Benzema? does it still work?

Benzema is important for Madrid, without Benzema it would be a very difficult story. But that is also without Mbappe at PSG. Man City don't really have a top striker, they are all good strikers who do their job. I also didn't find Man City convincing against Atletico Madrid, that they found a hole in the wall was a miracle. Atletico played a kind of 1-5-5 formation. Often with 11 men in their own sixteen. You just have to want to play football that way in the CL. That will have to be different at home because they have to win.

Benzema is on fire, after scoring 2 goals within the range of of 4 mins. He netted his first goal at 21th minutes and later scored another one in the 24th minutes. Karim Benzema would be looking for an hattrick desperately in this game. Blues defense is fallible to mistakes and it need to be corrected with immediate effect. Real Madrid are unstoppable in this game, the blues should improve in their defense. Thomas Tuchel should make instant changes in the second half inother not to get Eliminated from the quarter time, although there's still time for Chelsea to do a comeback in the second half.

Chelsea had a very bad night. Truthfully, I wasn't expecting this kind of a result in this game. I thought that it would end in a draw but both of them would score too. The latter happened but the former was not even close. Real Madrid made them very surprised by getting 2-0 ahead in a short time period. Chelsea tried something to make a comeback but it didn't help. Maybe if Mendy didn't make that huge mistake, then they might have had a chance. But here we are and they are disappointed by a 3-1 loss home.
Actually Chelsea have played very well and were able to control the match up to 58%, and several times the Real Madrid goalkeeper saved his goal from Chelsea attacks, but tonight Chelsea had bad luck because Mendy's blunder at the beginning of the second half made the Chelsea team discouraged and had to accept defeat. which hurts with a score of 1-3, there is still a second leg, although it is difficult but I am optimistic that Chelsea can make a surprise, even though playing at the opponent's cage but I am optimistic that Tuchel's team will be able to make a surprise,

The reason why Chelsea seemed like they played well was that they just had a bigger percentage of ball possession. But when it comes to having absolute goal chances, they were not that good most of the time I think. From time to time, they found some crucial chances indeed but they wasted all of them very generously. If Chelsea played like they did against Real Madrid in the previous season, then they would have even won here. But here we are. And from now on, I don't expect anything from Chelsea in the second leg.

There are a lot of things going on at Chelsea right now, from sanctions to Tuchel divorcing his wife. I believe it's been a difficult few weeks for the entire team, not knowing what would happen when the new owners took over. The Ramadam fast is affecting Rudiger and Mendy, who appear frail at the moment, making tracking back difficult. a concern, but if Chelsea can replicate their second-half performance against Real Madrid in the second leg, they may have a chance.

You know, I can see that Chelsea played very well despite their defeat, apparently the events around them have really affected their morale. I don't know how the circumstances will play out in the return match, but it will be extremely difficult to beat Real Madrid by two goals, let alone scoring three unanswered goals to avoid extra time, in which they are likely to concede

Bayern Munich really surprised me by losing to Villarreal yesterday. But I believe Villarreal deserved this victory from the beginning to the end. They had a very impressive performance and it helped them get a huge win in this. Villarreal were very good at defense too and found so many dangerous attacks also. Bayern Munich should be just thankful for not losing the game by a bigger gap. In Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich are going to be my favourite of course but it might not be easy for them to eliminate Villarreal.

I also noticed that in fact the score in the first game should have been more in favor of Villarreal and Bayern were lucky to lose only 1-0. But if you remember the confrontation between Villarreal and Juventus, then in the first match Villarreal drew 1-1, and then won 3-0 away. Therefore, if I were Bayern, I would start to get nervous - Villarreal plays stronger away  Grin
I'm not underestimating Juventus but I believe they are not on the same level as Bayern.

I really wish the bookies are as optimistic as you with Villareal so we can have better odds for Bayern hehe. Sportsbet current line for Bayern is at 1.25 while 12 for Villareal. Rollbit has 1.27 and 10. Those are really attractive if you are betting on the underdog.

The Chelsea vs Real Madrid game was the most delightful one among all of them I think. Thanks to Benzema especially, we watched a superb game. He was perfect by making a hat-trick. Chelsea had really nothing to do against him in this game. Especially the header goals were incredible. And now, Chelsea are in a big trouble like a 1-3 score disadvantage. In Santiago Bernabeu, I don't think that Chelsea have much chance to advance. As long as they don't improve their game, nothing will be changing for them.

We have removed Chelsea from the Champions League list this season because it is almost impossible for them to reverse the situation
Real Madrid definitely qualify for the next stage and wait for a new opponent, what we are waiting for is Benzema we look forward to the action in every game
After all it was fair because the Premier League has Liverpool in the semi-finals.
Yes it is almost impossible for Chelsea to qualify. Already they are in dangerous situation. But everything is possible in football. If we see the history of PSG and Real Madrid, we will be able to see a great come back from Real Madrid. I hope Chelsea will try to come back in their second match.

Yes there is nothing wrong, it's just my prediction Chelsea can do an unexpected session my prediction is only based on Madrid  performance in the Champions League
Some strong teams have been defeated like PSG and Chelsea in the first leg so that I consider Chelsea can't reverse the situation, the worst thing that can happen is a draw and have not been able to change anything.

Karim benzema is and will be a Real Madrid legend, for me he  and lawandowski are the best striker In the world right now, he has improved this Real Madrid team so much, what I like about his football is his act of taking responsibility, when Ronaldo left they brought in Eden Hazard and increase Gareth Bale salary but none of them both have contribute to Madrid success than Karim benzema has did,and he has improved the young wizard (vinicuus junior) also.without Karim benzema, Real Madrid won't have won Chelsea on Wednesday night.

I agree with you both Benzema and Lewandowski are currently the best strikers in the world,i would give a small edge to Benzema due to playing in a lot harder league and different play style then Bundesliga. Both Hazard and Bale currently are just only their for money and arent playing at all currently

Well, I'm seeing Real Madrid as a finalist, I don't think Chelsea can do anything else

Back then, everyone thought that Real Madrid was going to lose after PSG scored another goal but somehow they pulled the impossible then somehow managed to win. I wouldnt rule out Chelsea just yet although they need to score 3 nil to get to the next round. Its close to impossible but if you look at a different perspective then you know that Chelsea has nothing to lose so they will be playing all out on the next one but Real Madrid need to play abit on the defensive side to keep their advantage

All four played and I believe that I agree with the fact that only Liverpool looks as guaranteed as it gets. Obviously nothing is guaranteed in football, but all other teams are closer to each other. Real Madrid looks comfortable too by the way, they won their away game, and will be playing at home and will be much more comfortable, I do not think that they would lose from this point.

I mean if it was 1-0 or something like that then I would say it was closer, but it was 3-1 and Real has Benzema who is having the best season of his life at age 35, that is a big weapon to have. Let's see what happens, the games will be held in a week or so, quite soon.

The best teams in all leagues have the opportunity to play in the Champions League. No team is weak here. Each team is stronger. The team that can maintain its consistency, will not lose form, they will go ahead to win the title. It is not possible to do well in the Champions League if you are not able to perform consistently well. Since each team is strong here, a poor performance in a match will make it uncertain whether they will qualify for the next round.
Totally agree with what you say because I also see the performance of each team in the Champions League is always different from the performance in their own League, because in the Champions League every player is required to play better and consistently so that they can always look strong and have the potential to qualify for the next round with an advantage through aggregate.
Not only that, it's a Stage fright.

you might play brilliantly in your domestic matches but then feeling different as it's a huge stage in champions league, it's often you suddenly losing your grade A form and fucked it up.
everyone has a chance , there is no what so called the underdogs ... no matter how. this is champions league.

When they say that the team shines more in the UCL than in its own league, even though it sounds out of context, I don't know why but if it happens, just seeing the example that Real Madrid gave is something that at least to me It was disconcerting, it's something I couldn't believe, in fact when I remembered the game and put it on to watch it I thought that the score was bad that the goals were changed, in fact I had to watch it several times to believe it, of course for me it has a lot of relevance UCL is of unique prestige but no team can lower its guard.

I thought the Bayern game was good one too especially that we all know what to expect after the Germans go down and the comeback is on the cards now.

One thing I like about this Benzema guy, his not the most stylish of players but he he gets the job done and the hat tricks keep coming his way....I his proved himself to be a reliable striker  Smiley

It's over for Chelsea not even the second leg can save them.

What is affecting Chelsea performance is the challenge which the club is facing ,but all the same real madrid is a great team that can always defeat Chelsea at anytime whether in hard times or not. Real Madrid did very well in their performance and I'm convinced with their good performance they can win champions league.  .Chelsea's chances are very slim they haven't been doing well in their previous games,  I just hope things change for them.
The problems that have come repeatedly to Chelsea over the past few weeks have had a significant impact on their team's performance.
Madrid weren't that underdog at first as their opponents were tough but they are capable now (with Benzema's support).
It's very difficult for Chelsea now who have to catch up to a 2 goal difference at the Barnebeu which is sure to be filled with fans from Madrid later
