Paris saint Germans Haven't been more of a consistent team this season, we have seen that several occasions in the Ligue.
How did the arrival of Messi and Ramos improve the team ? I find the incorrect, null and invalid.
They haven't done much, likewise the arrival of Pochetino, Thomas Tuchel seems to be much of a better coach than he's been for the Ligue 1 champions.
psg has become king in their own league, by having great star players and having expensive players, but all of that is not affected at all in the european league, even though psg is surrounded by star players, but they are very difficult to play in the champions league, if this year psg can't get the champion title, maybe they will sell messi to another club.
To only dominate ligue 1 of course PSG don't need Messi all this time, because even before messi arrival PSG had become a dominating club in the League, PSG desire to win their first champions league trophy this season, made PSG collect many star players in their squad and I think the experience of these players will certainly provide many advantages for PSG to try to become champions, I think if this season PSG also failed to win the champions trophy, it would be very painful in my opinion.

I think psg has a high chance of winning the champions league. However, it should not be forgotten that most of the teams in the champions league are strong enough to eliminate each other. Psg may or may not win. I'm really curious about Messi's performance in the champions league. The league doesn't matter, they've widened the point gap now. They should concentrate on the champions league.
Pocchetino is not a coach who can be seeded with PSG, seeing the inconsistent performance in several matches in Ligue 1, plus the opponent faced in the last 16 is Real Madrid which incidentally is the team with the most champions league titles and has a strong mentality to beat PSG. Currently both teams have complete main squads without any injured players, but the match is still quite a month away and PSG or Real Madrid may lose their important players especially when there are many domestic matches.

PSG and Real Madrid. Both are leaders in their respective leagues. It would not be correct to say that this match will definitely win. Both teams have strong squads. I don't know whether Real Madrid or Psg can make it to the round, but if there is one thing I know, it is that the team that passes this round is highly likely to go to the final.

PSG have a good squad with great players that should be able to win any trophy they want but they are still not my favorite pick in winning the champions league this season. I don’t really see the chemistry between this big players when they play and I think that is why they are having a hard time in scoring goals.
For me I think they’d need a better coach that has trophies winning experiences like pep, I wouldn’t bet PSG to win against a team like Manchester city or Bayern or even Real Madrid with all this great players in the team.

I have to agree with you, in the last 10 years of Al-Khelaïfi's management, PSG has invested heavily in stars such as David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Neymar, who arrived as the biggest signing in history (222 million euros), but yet the closest they came was the title of vice champion in 2019-2020.

Recently they also hired Gianluigi Donnaruma, Geoginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi, Sergio Ramos, and of course, the greatest of them all, Lionel Messi.

However, despite so many investments, we should see a "super team", but what we see is a team that doesn't have a team, when it wins it's in the individual, and due to the investment made, it's a very disappointing first half of the season.

Al-Khelaïfi's management have spent a lot of money, nobody says no
but he could spend less and get more results
just look at Atalanta
this way of buying champions and throwing them in a cauldron never works for me (see Inter Milan)

The figure of the coach is also important to be able to unite star players in a squad, sometimes a coach likes to confuse which one is considered better, adaptation to other players including the coach can do it, but Pochettino is not a reliable coach and in the champions league it is very difficult to win trophies in this season.
I'm sure if PSG fail this season to win a trophy then Pochettino will definitely be sacked and find a new replacement, it's not easy and Zidane is one of the good coaches at the moment still unemployed.

Winning the Champions League is PSG big mission. Buying a champion subscription player and having experience playing at the highest level, it is clear that PSG is very ambitious to make new history in the Champions League. Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi, Georginio Wijnaldum, Ramos and Messi were successfully brought in by PSG to strengthen their team.
PSG has opened a new chapter of becoming one of the best teams of all time, now they have the trio of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe and are backed by another star player in midfield, defender and goalkeeper. Having star players on all fronts, Winning the Champions League is no longer a dream that PSG can't get.

PSG were always the best team in France. What they were lacking was the recognition of being the best in Europe - which comes by winning the Champions League. We can say by their transfers that they want to win the Champions League so bad. Buying Messi, Ramos, Wijnaldum or Donarumma. Specially buying Messi.
But it will be quite hard for them as their front trio are still does not having the chemistry needed in order for them to win.

Well they went to the champions league final and strangely lost, I don't know. It's strange that this trio, who are probably the best in football right now, still can't find the chemistry between them, it's halfway through the season, what's wrong? One of the players will leave in the summer and then what? Who will take Mbappe's place?

I can't agree with you on this. PSG weren't always the best in the Ligue 1. For example, PSG didn't become the champions in the league from the 1994-95 season to the 2011-12 season. We all know how PSG reached this level in the end. They were bought by rich people and we saw a revolution in the team. They strengthened their squad a lot already in their first season. And they continued like that until now. Now, we see them among the biggest clubs in the world.
PSG haven't been the best like they are right now for a looong time in early 2000's as well. I remember during my high school or so years Lyon dominated the league and won like 100 titles in a row (okay maybe not that much Cheesy ) so I know that PSG became this good only after they started to spend money on buying players. Between getting Mbappe and Neymar, they really changed a lot and they are looking amazing.

Mbappe was a star even before he came to PSG but he wasn't THIS good, dude became who he is here as well. So, I feel like we should recognize their situation and they are definitely one of the top teams in the whole world these days.

What leads to the collapse of the teams is that the clubs earn money, and the corrupt officials of FIFA and UEFA distribute it. The creation of the Superleague would solve this problem. Football has long needed to be a normal business like the NHL, by the way, wage caps and other principles that help clubs remain profitable work great there.

You are right. The wages of the players are so high compared to any doctor or engineer.
I remember a doctor said when the COVID first hit - why don't you tell your footballers to treat the patient as they are paid so much  Cheesy.

Football has become a business rather than a sport in the current time. If you look at the transfer fees - $100M nowadays is nothing for an average player, this needs to stop.

Some onlyfans models earn millions for taking topless pictures, this does not mean that they earn unfairly, it only says about inflation. I'm sure that in 10 years we will see transfers that are many times higher than the record transfer for Neymar (Real Madrid is already ready for this reality - compensation for young players in contracts is approaching a billion). But this does not bother me much - these are business affairs, but officials who spoil everything with their ideas infuriate me.

if you have a lot of champions, well, but you also have to be able to make them play together, and this is not easy

This is perhaps the most important aspect. Getting all the great players on the squad to play well as a group.

Doing this is not always easy, it takes a coach (who most of the time has a much lower salary than the players) to be able to unite the group, in order to obtain a good performance from these excellent players.

Finding such a trainer is not always easy. There are few, and usually the best are already in big clubs.

I think Zidane could be a viable option over here.
As far I know, other than him, all other high-tier coaches are now occupied by bigger clubs. Now, PSG firstly needs to figure out the chemistry between Messi-Neymar and Mbappe. If this is not done, I think they will struggle in the Champions League. They are doing good in the league, but if they wanna win the Champions League, the whole team needs to perform together.

I don't follow the french league 1 that closely but i am pretty sure that PSG was not always the best team in France. I remember quite well in the early 2000's that Olympique Lyon was the strongest team in France and they even managed to reach the quarterfinals and i think even once the semi-finals of the champions league. That were the times where they still had Juninho in their squad.

And I remember in the 2010s Monaco had excellent results, in France and in Europe.

Now, if they say that PSG has always been the richest club in France, there is no doubt about that. In fact, they are big today, because of the money, and not because of the training they have or in the hiring of young people who become great players. It's just about the money.
Yes, that's right, in the past I was more familiar with the names Lyon and Marseille, teams that came from France and not only that, because Marseille was recorded as having the UCL title in the 1992/1993 season. But for the dominance of the Ligue 1 title at that time it was dominated by Lyon until time went by, they were no longer strong enough. But for the competition in UCL I think the teams from France are still not strong enough and now PSG with the star squad they have, at least have a better chance but unfortunately, their performance is still not enough to continue to go further now in UCL.

At the moment, three of the most expensive players in the world are playing in PSG - Neymar, Mbappe + Messi (in the past, but nonetheless). Thank god money isn't everything in football and PSG still haven't been able to win the Champions League, I always cheer against them in this competition (plus against City)  Grin That's why I love football - you can't buy the most expensive players and win everything you want. Very often there will be more simple but evil and motivated clubs that will be stronger.

The only problem for the PSG team is to get these players to perform at their best, to play together. I think that's what they haven't been able to do yet.

This season, they are a little better in that sense, in terms of group bonding. But even so, I think this year they won't be able to win.
