If Chelsea's performance continues to decline and of course it will be a pressure on the team, at least the problem will have an impact on their performance as well. But if some key Chelsea players can get back into shape and keep them safe until the match against Lille, then of course Chelsea have a great chance of qualifying. I'm just worried that the pressure on the team can't be overcome, because after all even though Lille looks worse in the domestic league but the fact that throughout the group stage Lille can prove their capacity and Lille still can't be underestimated.

Even if Chelsea continues to slip, and Lille improves its game, then 99.99% you can be sure that Chelsea will still be the winner of this pair. Lille is very bad this season - 11th in the weakest of the top leagues. Making it to the playoffs from the Champions League group stage is easy to explain - they had the weakest group (possibly one of the weakest in history) and scored only 11 points. I think Chelsea will never get nervous about this confrontation and will easily succeed here.

This season is one of those times when Real Madrid has everything to make a great Champions League. The La Liga championship is fully controlled, with no opponents at the height. In this way they can dedicate themselves almost 100% to the Champions League.

I am actually surprised about how well Real Madrid is doing this season. They may not be among the absolute top favorite in the champions league but so far they are playing pretty well and have achieved good results. This is surprising to me because Real Madrid has almost as many debts as Barca has and still Real somehow managed to keep a working squad together while Barcelona is forced to play with a lot of extremely young players, that may have a lot of talent and a bright future but of course no experience at all in big games. I just don't see why Real Madrid could keep his squad together.. they have 900 M€ of debts and Barca 1,35 Billion € so of course Barca has more, but not that much more.

Manchester United have got Cristiano Ronaldo with them.
You should go check the stats between Athletico Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United should be very happy at the moment.
They be getting good game's after the sack, and appointment of Ralf Ragnick, such they will go pass the Round of sixteen.
Talking about Chelsea against Lille, they should be experienced enough to play Thomas Tuchel, they must have a good understanding of how he's game plan.
Underrating the french side isn't proper.

Atletico Madrid - Manchester United can be a really interesting draw I think. I really wonder why Atletico Madrid are in such a bad condition this season after winning the La Liga title. There is a huge gap with the leader Real Madrid now. And they hardly managed to qualify for this round of the Champions League. As Manchester United are trying to recover by getting nice results, they seem to be the most advantageous team in this draw for now at least. I will be supporting Manchester United to qualify for the quarter finals.

The Spanish championship is a very difficult and long competition and I don't think Real can relax too much and think that everything is under control.
After all, Sevilla are very close to Real and it seems that they will be the main competitors for the title.
As for the Champions League, I personally don’t think Real is the main favorite to win this competition.
I give Manchester City, Bayern, Liverpool and PSG more chances.

I don't say they will have an easy life. But they will have things minimally controlled. Even with Sevilla alert, they are 5 points ahead. Which gives them room for some slip. In other words, if things in the championship continue at the same pace, when the game with PSG arrives they will be able to go with all their strength.

I agree that Man City and Bayern are the ones with the best chances of winning the competition.

Real Madrid really have one of their biggest chances to even win the Champions League. People shouldn't be so sure about PSG to eliminate them. To be honest, I'm also supporting PSG for this draw. But we should be ready for any kind of results here. Chelsea became the champions last season while most people were waiting for a team like PSG or Manchester City to make it. Maybe this time, Real Madrid can surprise people.

Actually, the La Liga is not fully controlled as there is a Sevilla threat very near them.  Grin  But still when we look at Real Madrid's recent performance in the league, we can say that they have a really big chance to win the title. And they have been really good at being able to focus on the La Liga and the Champions League both so far. Hence, Real Madrid are really having one of their best seasons and we will see if they will be able to benefit from it against PSG.

Chelsea are a very lucky team that they have one of the easiest matchups among the favourite clubs to win the Champions League title. And it was really interesting to see that they got a draw against Lille two times.  Grin  It must be really frustrating for Lille. As Lille are not having a very satisfying season, Chelsea should be able to move them out of the CL by not having too much problem. I know that there has been a decrease in Chelsea's performance lately but they are still too powerful against their opponent.

If we analyse the game based on players quality then this is a no brainer that PSG should have an easy win in this fight. However Ancelotti has a lot of experience in Champions League back at the times when he was managing Milan and he has also won a couple of Champions League trophies with Milan. This experience may really be a game changer if he manages to tactically to block PSG players,he is an Italian and they are well known for applying the best tactics to football. We still have to wait a couple of months before seeing this clash so there is time until then.
Surely this is one off biggest competition in Champions League knock out stage with two heavy weights are going to fight for place into quarter-final currently on papers PSG is very strong and having some better chances, but Real Madrid under Ancelotti is doing best job for last few weeks and having very good results, so it's not easy for them in presence of an Italian legend to win this match very easily. Another thing is also very important, Real Madrid is having love affair with Champions League and PSG is still looking for their first Date even they spend some very big amount in last few years for this one.
This is a double-edged blade and the presence of titles already won can not always serve as a significant advantage in the confrontation. The opponent may simply have a stronger desire to win the title than his already jaded opponent, although of course great teams, like athletes, are called great because they are not jaded with these victories and every new time they fight with redoubled efforts. Paris Saint-Germain by name may indeed have some advantage over Real Madrid, but the advantage of Madrid may be greater teamwork and greater integrity of the team. Therefore, it is difficult for me to give an advantage to any club offhand, but I think that the Qatari sheikhs can offer more prize money for their wards than Real Madrid can offer to its players Grin

I too agree Carlo can definitely swing it in Real Madrid’s favour, but this is one of the biggest match for Poch and if he fails to win it then he’ll be sacked from the job. Furthermore I feel that Real Madrid play much better as a team in comparison to PSG who yet at times looks confused to me, hence in my personal opinion it’s advantage to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid defense isn't very bad, you are too much saying this. I can agree if you state they are not strong enough, but claiming they are very bad, totally not true.
It depends on what to compare, but in general I agree that Real's defense remained at the proper level even after the departure of Varan and Ramos. By the way, it is interesting that after the departure of Ronaldo, Benzema's talent and strength were revealed in full force.
That you for this crucial observation.  I keep telling people that Real Madrid defense is not as weak as they portray. Infact it is not weak. They only struggled sometimes when the season began, and I think they are fine now.
Even when it was Marcelo, Varane, Ramos and Cavaja which was indeed a strong defense, Real Madrid never relied much on their defense.
Their strength always has been the attack and how much goals they were able to get for the club.
Exactly the mentality of Liverpool.

I am only guided by logic, no more ... besides, I do not agree on the account of the similarity of the teams you mentioned, since Real Madrid has looked like a lazy cat for the last couple of years, while Liverpool players are working hard.  Wink

PSG is strong in names. But are names on the pitch that strong? Remind me of the game this season, when exactly did the strikers do something at the extra level and PSG beat a strong team?
Basically, PSG is a strong team, they have many top players. So, they are possible to beat Real Madrid in theory. The problem is how the coach manages a strategy and motivates PSG players to play solidly. If Pochettino can do that, surely PSG strikers possibly make Real Madrid defenders in trouble. Messi, Mbappe, Di Maria, or Icardi look fit to play in the next match, these strikers are enough to beat Real Madrid if they are playing in their best performance.

but you mustn't forget that madrid's defense is still very bad

I think whoever scored first in the match will dominate the game,
No, which team dominates the game doesn't depend on the first goal. It purely depends on which midfield can win the ball possession, so they will control and dominate the game.

Professionalism in football emerges more in such situations. Nothing much has changed for Messi, but it will be an emotional pairing for Navas and Ramos. They will play against their old team. Especially Ramos will play against his club, which he captained for many years. I think Paris SG will pass the tour. However, it is a fact that this match will be like the final match.
That would be great, and it is true that professionalism is the most important thing. No matter how much Ramos loved Real Madrid before, he had to help PSG win that match because he was paid for it. Obviously Messi, Ramos, Di Maria and Navas are players who know the atmosphere against Real Madrid and they should be able to use it to help their team win.

That match will be played in February, so I think we can still see the two teams maybe going to change in some ways even though at the moment both team are playing very well in their respective domestic leagues. Most recently, Real Madrid drew vs Cadiz so anything is still possible for these two teams.

Atletico Madrid - Manchester United could be a really interesting matchup. Because there is not a big difference between them now in terms of strength. Atletico Madrid are very experienced when it comes to defending their opponents in critical matches. But they haven't been playing like themselves recently. They are in a really bad shape now as they have a losing streak of three matches in the La Liga. And Manchester United are on the rise by Rangnick's arrival. But their performance is still not too impressive. In this case, we can watch very competitive matches here. But in my opinion, Manchester United are still stronger than Atletico Madrid now and they can advance to the next round if we don't see big changes.
Now knock out stage have many interesting matches, but surely this is also going to be very entertaining but with current form I am favoring Manchester United because they improved their quality in recent matches and Atletico Madrid is not good enough like we have them in last few years recently they are losing matches consistently but still it's going to be anybody game.

Because, which team will perform at home then surely going with some better advantage and will try to defend on other match here recently Manchester United also done some better and Atletico Madrid is also done something special in their last match against Porto. With the targets having new Manchester United manager, we can feel better results from them after this break.

Players like Ramos are very ego and professional. They don't have issue to play against clubs they played in many years. It is just their works have to be done. They have less emotional impacts because they are not home-grown players of Real Madrid. They were just bought by Real Madrid and played there in a few seasons (Navas) and almost whole of career (Ramos). Both Ramos and Navas have their best time in Real Madrid so this return is emotional for them.

PSG have better players than Real Madrid but Real Madrid have a better coach in Champions League. Ancelotti have more experience in Champions League than Pochettino and it can be very important contributor to result of this clash.
