Chelsea just beat Manchester City in the FA Cup.... I agree they are no favorite for the Champions League title, but..nothing is impossible! Wink
It is true, nothing is impossible. We already saw many surprises in the football competition. So, it can happen in the match of Real Madrid vs Chelsea. However, with a huge experience of the Real Madrid team, the chance of this team to win should be better. They have players that already experienced winning the UCL title. Although without CR7, almost all players know well how to play in the semifinal or even final of UCL. An international match like UCL is much different than a local match like FA Cup. So, we cannot determine Chelsea to play well in UCL just based on the match in FA Cup.

It could be exactly this public perception that Chelsea has no chance which in the end gives them the edge. They are very strong defensively, could definitely keep it 0:0 till late game and then score the lucky punch.

You all remember Bayern Chelsea in the final in Germany? 17:1 corners, but who won it in the end? One lucky punch Drogba, and in the penalty shootout:

Chelsea!

Very possible if you ask me.

Chelsea were a much stronger team back then, they had elite players all over the pitch. Now not so much in my opinion. I think the champion will come from the other semi final, Man City or PSG.

So what now? Chelsea just beat Manchester City in the FA Cup. In my opinion that is quite huge. Chelsea plays so well in the defense right now, one goal is enough for them to bring it home. I agree they are no favorite for the Champions League title, but....

Now in my opinion, Chelsea is not as good as when they had Didier Drogba, so I doubt Chelsea can reach the final. Chelsea does need an attacker
like Drogba who has excellent finishing, in contrast to Werner who needs lots of opportunities to score goals. I agree that the possibility of winning
the Champions League this season is either Manchester City or PSG.
Of the remaining 4 team, only Chelsea is the worst in the domestic league. Now Chelsea is in the 5th position in the premier league and there is no hope of getting the premier league title this year.
This incident reminds me of the 2011-2012 competition year, at that time Chelsea performance was very destroyed in the premier league, but they made it to the UCL final, and finally came out to be a champion.
I'm not sure Chelsea can repeat history in 2011-2012, because Chelsea players are not consistent in maintaining their defensive lines and finishing their attacker are also very bad, especially the opponents they faced in the semifinals of a team like Real Madrid.

Yeah, it is very important to be aware of this situation. None of these four teams are weak. And it is for sure that all of them will be very willing to reach the final and win the title. People can see Chelsea being the most disadvantageous team here but they may even win the CL and surprise everyone.
One might think Chelsea are weak because they have been inconsistent since the start of the season in the Premier League. But since Tuchel arrived, thing have changed and Chelsea have continued to have a lot of positive result until they enter the semifinal of today's champion league. Real Madrid are probably the more favored because they are coached by someone who has won the trophy 3 time in a row. But anything is still possible. I hope Chelsea can provide an equal fight with Real Madrid.

I hope so too. Chelsea have already proved themselves about what they are capable of. Real Madrid will be a much more tougher opponent for them compared to Porto. They should be very well-prepared for this draw. They have the power to eliminate Real Madrid too. They just need to believe in themselves.

Real Madrid has experience in the Champions League, but unfortunately, soon there will be no players left to enter the field. Mendy was injured. Today, there were only 16 players to play with Getafe. Everyone else is injured. The rest, especially Cross and Modrid, are accumulating tired and this can cause injury. And ahead of the matches every 3-4 days.

But in a way this is a problem that ends up affecting all the teams in the competition.

Chelsea must continue to work to maintain fifth place, if they do not risk not going to the European competitions in the next season.
PSG may not be concerned about winning their league, but Monaco are trying to reach second place. So, you have to keep a good pace so you don't lose your place and don't go to the Champions next season.
Real Madrid are in second, very close to the first and with Barcelona just behind. So, you have to keep the pace, since it can be easily overtaken by opponents.
City, on the other hand, has about 10 points ahead (with one more game), and for that reason it has practically the championship won. Just do a balanced management.

Of the four finalists, City has the best conditions to be fully focused on the Champions League.

It's not underestimating, Chelsea under Tuchel is proving to be a really good team. We're simply playing the odds, and I feel Chelsea's the only team out of the 4 remaining that actually has really small chances of claiming the trophy.

A combination of quality and experience is much higher in other teams, it's football and anything is possible (especially in this crazy covid-effected season) but I'd be really surprised if Chelsea reached the final. And if they did, they'd be heavy outsiders to both City or PSG.

Chelsea is a dark horse in this four grands , but they have very real chances of reaching the final, because Real Madrid does not look very confident this season, their game is not stable, there are periodic recessions, and Chelsea can take advantage of this. I would like Chelsea to make it to the final.

Real Madrid with all their experiences in CL, I think they have better chance than Chelsea. Chelsea is good enough in the last few months after they got the manager but I do not think that they are strong enough to beat Real Madrid. Of course it does not mean that Chelsea wont be able to beat Real Madrid, they still have the chance but Real Madrid is having greater chance.

In other words, even if Real Madrid are not in their best form, if they reach the final, they are always the main candidate to win the competition.

Yes, because they are the team that won the most UCL championships. 13 times they won 3 times with Zidane. Seven years with Madrid Zidane has given 9 titles, this is extraordinary. They have experience, I think they deserve to be potential champions. As for the semifinals Chelsea was great, under Tuchel they were very different they got stronger. I think it's going to be really exciting, the first leg takes place in Spain. In this  first leg Madrid must win by a lot of goals to secure a chance to the Final.

Indeed. Even if Chelsea somehow reach the final, I still think they will have almost none chances to win against PSG or CITY but the run of Chelsea must be appreciated because few of us really thought that they will come to play the semi-finals for a chance in the final.

On the other side, Real Madrid knows they are not the favorite in both LaLiga and UCL but they keep doing the job in both of them so I will put Real with the 3rd chance to win followed by City on 2nd and my favorite to win being PSG.

Let's be real guys (pun intended), there is no way Chelsea could win. First of all you guys are saying Tuchel is a great manager and he is the reason why Chelsea is different now, but the reality is that Zidane could be the best manager in all of active managers, you can argue about Klopp or Pep as well (I have removed Mourinho long time ago from my list) but the reality is that Zidane is still up there no matter who you like, this guy won 3 champions league in a row, I do not remember when was the last time that happened.

Real Madrid has the better roster as well, Chelsea is not that great and even though they have managed to come this far, they had some lucky draws as well as playing well but not playing THAT well enough to beat Real. I think an upset is possible in any matchup, teams can always beat each other and there is no doubt over that, but CLEAR favorites here are the Real Madrid for sure.

Man City are 11 points clear in the league. They can focus fully on Champions League now, the domestic league title is a given.
It's a different story for PSG and Real, who are both in second place in their domestic leagues, and so can't give all their attentions to the Champions League.
Perhaps this is to be Man City's year?

These are valid points. With PSG, though, I'd say they don't care if they win the French championship or not this year. They have won the championship the last years and the big goal even of the Arab investors is to win the CL. Therefore, they will subordinate everything to it.

This is true, but in the end City ends up being calmer. Even if PSG don't mind losing their league, they will have to fight harder to overtake City. City has been more consistently throughout the season, without much suppression, so I think they are more prepared.
PSG is a strong enough team and they are performing well in every match of the Champions League. But their opponent is Manchester City. The Manchester City team is stable. Pep Guardiola is a very experienced coach. He will do his best to help Manchester City win the Champions League this season. But PSG is much stronger when considered as a team. No other team has such a great forward lineup.

I saw so many people who underestimate Chelsea when it come to meeting Real Madrid in the semifinal. I wonder if Chelsea don't deserve to be in the final this season despite their inconsistent form in the Premier League?

We must not underestimate any team in the semifinal because the aim of all these team is to reach the final and get the title. Both Real Madrid, Chelsea, PSG and Manchester City I think they have the same chance of reaching the final.

The champions league is so weird this year looking at Manchester City logo in the semi-final if they want the champions league they must leg to go off the league they can't give full focus on the league and the champions league at the same time, this has been their problem some years now. PSG, Chelsea, Madrid all sacrificed the league for the champions league, they won't let go that eassy

Man City are 11 points clear in the league. They can focus fully on Champions League now, the domestic league title is a given.
