Champions league is never as easy as it seems, in champions league there are rarely ever any "favorites" to win, sure at the end of the competition there is a very good team most of the time but until we get there we are talking about many good teams and most of them lose out before they get there. Finals are between 2 teams but we can count 2 good teams from all major European leagues and that means there are 15-20 teams that will be hoped to go further but fail at one stage.

Maybe it will be milan here, maybe inter, maybe even PSG will lose, there are tons of reasons why Liverpool might. So, gambling on champions league is not like gambling on regular leagues, it is always scarier and there is always a chance some lower level team beats a great team.

Basaksehir had their first win ever in the Champions League against Man United. I doubt they can manage to get their second win right in their next match (against United again) already. But for a bet on United, the odds aren't worth it at all imho (@1.22).

I also think PSG won't have problems with Leipzig this time. Neymar and Mbappe will be back and ready for the match on Tuesday. They both missed the last match against Leipzig and we all know that both are the kind of players that can decide a game by themselves. Leipzig on the other hand has a long list of injured (key) players: Leimer and Halstenberg. Also Mukiele, Upamecano and Orban are not completely fit.

^ Surely Man U wouldn't want another embarrassment again from the same team and in their own turf Grin They could at least win ugly (1-0).

Hmmmm other than Chelsea, odds for well known teams are just too low like Juve at 1.1 (lol). I might just parlay three of four matches here.

PSG and Manchester United will win their games this time. However, like Barcelona, Juventus and the rest of the favorites. The most interesting confrontation is expected in Milan. Inter needs to defeat Real Madrid. Otherwise, they can say goodbye to the Champions League.

I dont think it will be an easy game for United. Like usual, I think they will mess up one of their next 2 matches. Let see. PSG vs RB Leipzig and Inter Milan vs Real Madrid will be on my watchlist this week. Group H is unpredictable. The match will not ends draw, this match will be a key to go to the next stage for booth PSG and RB Leipzig. Same thing will be happen in Milan, all memes are standby to be launched. People want to see Real Madrid plays in UEFA Europa League Grin

But i wont say this kind pessimistic thoughts until at least we see the league match against leicester.
If the can handle leicester with a lot of key players missing , i dont think in the other matches liverpool should be put in so much underestimated prediction.

Don't forget that Atalanta is fighting for a spot out of that group just as ajax so they would fight hard to get at least a point or more at Anfield. And considering Liverpool's squad is lack especially the defense, they might just explore it for their advantage.

Liverpool tops the group D after winning 3/3 first round matches. Ajax will face Midtjylland and more than likely to get all 3 points from that clash. Atalanta knows that if they lose again, it might be more difficult to qualify from the group. However, according to the recent injury updates, Liverpool might have some key players in time for UCL clash but not the domestic one against Leicester city.

I wouldn't pay that much attention to these 'studies'. Fatigue is normal after things like a cold of the flu but I'm sure 'Covid fatigue' will become the new I'm too ill to work excuse so people can enjoy early retirement and a lifetime of benefits. I'm sure professional athletes being paid millions will be seldom effected  Grin. In the cases of people like Ronaldo and Salah they're asymptomatic and have only tested positive for the virus whilst having no problems or symptoms whatsoever. This will be the case for most people I think, or those tests they're giving people are issuing false positives which is what Ronaldo claimed I believe.

Fatigue alone might be not a big problem but breathing problems and neurological problems. You can compare Covid similar to the Spanish flu. Years after the Spanish flu, there was an accumulation of neurological problems of people which were infected years ago but survived. From Parkinson to multiple sclerosis. Some historians even talk about a "second pandemic" a decade later.

I'm concerned about Liverpool vs Atalanta game. We might end up either losing or drawing the game. There are too many injured players now with the newest injuries being Gomez, Henderson, Salah and Arnold my favorite right back. The quality of our squad is now diminished so it should be an easy  win for atalanta.

Everybody will do worry about thr liverpool situation.
There is a meme showing how klopp turn up in the training ground with nobody as everybody is missing for either covid19 positive or injured lol

You are right, If PSG loses against Leipzip again, they might not proceed to next round. But hopefully they will win against Leipzip. They lost the previous match against Leipzip because their luck was bad. Neymar and Mbappe did not play on that match. You know, in that match they got 2 red cards. If Neymar and Matape were in the team, maybe the results of the match could have been different.

@nelson4lov I’ll second that Liverpool injury crisis just keeps getting worst this season, and now even Salah has tested positive for covid again meaning he won’t be available for their upcoming fixtures.

Also at this stage I’m tempted to wager on Liverpool because of their winning mentality, and I believe that I’ll be getting higher odds on them for this fixture, what do you’ll think should I wager on them or no?.

(Possibly we’ll see the same lineup in champions league too)

Eh don't worry as they have Diego Jota who is a phenomenal striker and deadly when it gets 1 vs 1 with the keeper so I don't be too surprised if we don't see the any differences on Liverpool attack as they still have Mane and Firminho. What I'm worried about Liverpool is that they really don't have a strong defense at the moment...

The game I am most excited to see is Inter vs Real in Group B. Real can’t afford to lose this game, I can not imagine the CL last 16 without Real participating. I expect this game to be very intense.

but Inter or Real Madrid have significant chances of taking 3rd place because M'gladbach is showing really interesting football and has real chances to make it to CL last 16. the next match is vs. Shakhtar Donetsk and it could be another 3 points for M'gladbach.

I have seen a lot of basketball players who "had" covid and restart during bubble period and they were amazing without any problems at all. Also there were few football players who had covid and returned this season and they played well as well.

This year the only problem teams have is missing their players during covid period if they get infected and maybe at most after a month those players will be back and playing like nothing happened. Obviously this is for asymptomatic players and infected people, if they are infected and they had high fever and bad effects, that could take a bit longer to recover from. However when you are careful about your life like wear a mask and put a social distance between you and others, you should not get it too severely.

Why destroy if you could easily introduce new and young players into the lineup? But the policy of the Barcelona leadership missed the moment and now it will be difficult to restore everything, especially in the conditions of the crisis and huge debts. Real Madrid in this situation is also from the policy of its president. Who started the construction of the stadium to please his own ambitions. His habit of changing coaches killed Real. the players needed by the team made the situation worse.

yeah.. i understand the bad moment
every team has very bad moments, if you remember Juventus also went to Serie B (with Alessandro Del Piero who remained as a professional)

you have to start rebuilding everything from scratch, without panic and caressing and coaxing the fans, who bring money

Barcelona and Real Madrid are too many problems, a lot of old players, and young players have no experience yet.
Juventus relies on experience and therefore loses constantly. Now we need more physically strong players, and there are very few of them in Juventus.
Bayern and Liverpool are likely to play in the final and are more realistic candidates for the final this season.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are in post win cycle.. need to destroy and rebuild from scratch.
Juventus is a step over, they destroyed and in this moment they rebuild.
Ronaldo is only a marketing operation, CR7 is a big brand. Now with Pirlo they planning the future.

The CL is always wide open, very often teams reach the final that you wouldn’t expect. The level is so high that any single bad game in the knockout stages & a team can effectively be out. I think Bayern are favourites but tyere are probably another 7 or 8 teams who are capable of winning it.
There are always favorites. But if you look at everything realistically, there are not so many teams that can reach the final. And it is not known in what form the players of the teams will approach the final part of the season. Much will depend on this.
