Talking about Aston Villa and their manager Unai Emery, let's not forget that the Spanish manager is well experienced when ot comes to European competitions. Unai Emery is the most successful manager in the history of the UEFA Europa League competition as he won the competition in four different occasions. He first won three in a row with Sevilla from 2013/14 season to 2015/16 seasons before winning it again with Villarreal in 2020/21 season. Since the start of the current season he's significantly improved the performance of Aston Villa not just in the UEFA Conference League competition but also in the English Premier League. His Aston Villa side is currently sitting in the fourth position of the English Premier League table ahead of big teams like Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and even Manchester United.
The improved performance of Aston Villa this season under Unai Emery is the reason why many are rooting for them to win the UEFA Conference League trophy at the end of the season. Without doubt, it'll be a very difficult task for Aston Villa but because they have a manager who's very good when it comes to European competitions, I think they stand a good chance of winning the trophy ahead of the other teams
Aston Villa apart from having a coach who is quite experienced, they also have quality players this season so their steps to becoming champions are of course wide open. Of the several teams competing in the quarter-finals, of course Aston Villa was a stronger team compared to the other teams. I don't think it will be difficult for Aston Villa to beat Lille in the quarter-finals, especially in the first leg, Aston Villa is the host so they can use the first leg to bring down their opponent's mentality.

The coach, Unai Emery, of course has a pretty good record in European conference league. So, with the advantages they have, of course they have to be able to prove it to become champions. Apart from that, if Unai Emery succeeds in bringing Aston Villa to the championship this season it will certainly make his coaching record even more impressive. Indeed, other teams should not be considered weak because in football there are always surprises that happen.

First of all I think the probable semi final draws will be like this:

- Fenerbahçe - Aston Villa
- Fiorentina - Club Brugge

- If we see the same determination from Fenerbahçe in this round I think Olympiacos' end will also be similar to Royale Union SG. The odds shared for the first leg is really close but I still find it worth to give Fenerbahçe win a try @2.55.  Smiley

- There is a serious power gap between Plzen and Fiorentina. I expect Fiorentina to win the first leg away already and @2.02 odds are really attracting.

- Aston Villa - Lille is probably the most interesting one as I mentioned before. I expect Lille to be more resistant than Ajax but I think they would also be eliminated at the end of the day. @1.65 for Aston Villa win home in the first leg could be a pretty good option.

- Club Brugge - PAOK... In fact this is also interesting in a way. PAOK's effort in the second leg against D. Zagreb was amazing! - 5 goals. But my favourite for the first leg will be Club Brugge anyway as I think they would make use of home advantage @1.99.

I agree with your predictions, the semi-final will be like this.
If Fenerbahçe beats Aston Villa in the semi-finals, I believe they will most likely win the cup.
The winner of the Fenerbahçe - Aston Villa match will win this cup.
I hope Fenerbahçe wins this cup and brings it to our country.

If you look at the predictions, this will be an interesting match in the semifinals. It could be said that this semifinal will bring together great teams, in other words the final match is still too early because it will bring together the winner of the Aston Villa vs Lille match and the winner of the Olympiakos vs Fenerbahce match. In other matches, the winner of the Viktoria Plzen vs Fiorentina match will be pitted against the winner of the Club Brugge vs PAOK match.

However, there are two interesting matches that could take place in the final, namely the two favorite teams facing each other, namely Aston Villa vs Fiorentina and or two clubs from Greece, Olympiacos vs PAOK. Or maybe what happens in the final match which will be held at the Agia Sophia Stadium will be the moment for Fenerbahce, Club Brugge or Viktoria Plzeň to win their first European trophy? This is very interesting for us to see, I will follow some of your predictions to place a bet.

That's not surprising. Their form at the Conference League is very good, although by stats alone they don't seem to dominate their games and rely on outperforming their xG[1]. Their xGA is not that big though, so we can say they are quite effective at scoring goals while being able to defend quite well, although they rarely have clean sheets. They lose aerial duels quite often though, so their opponent can probably try to score through set pieces or aerial passes. I can see them winning this competition, so I'd also prefer them to win the next matches and reach the final.

Aston Villa have been like a rising star in the EPL as well since Emery took over. I believe he is such a special coach because of his impressive records for a long time.  Smiley  I mean wherever he goes he has been able to save that team from a bad condition they are in. This hasn't changed for like many years.

Recently I was wondering whether we would see inconsistencies in the Conference League while fighting for a Champions League place in the EPL. But here they are, in the quarter finals. Aston Villa should be able to win the Conference League this year especially thanks to this huge scoring capability.

And they have been some wird ups and downs. Sometimes they can win a game 4-0 and they are by far the superior team and out of a sudden they concede three goals the next game and lose without any chance. I think for Aston Villa a lot depends on the shape they are in on a particular day. They do have a solid basic performance level, but they are still not stable enough to avoid crushing defeats. Though I don't think that in the Conference League they will have one of these blackouts that they had a couple of times in the Premier League. I expect them to advance to the next round against Lille.

Aston Villa small team in english football? Man they always were one of the medium teams, maybe you are talking that because of the new Premier League era, but they are not a small team, a small team is Burnley, Luton or other but not Aston Villa. Anyways yes under Unay Emeri they make a big improvement.
Improvement is more considered to be the good form of the players, consistent performance is presence for Aston Villa, they're scalping good results in matches. No room to underrate any side, they've come for winning and one will lead supremacy and other tends to be inferior, we know how the system played out. Aston Villa facing Lille, this will be one of the top performance for these clubs. However I've predicted the winners and I'm seeing the English side qualifying for another significant position.

Aston Villa having inconsistent performance in the English Premier League but it doesn't points out the fact that they should relent in the Europa conference league. In the meantime, Aston Villa not considered a mediocre team because they've reached this far in the Europa conference league this season. Aston Villa coach, Unai Emery is doing his best to ensure winnings continue on the path of his team, he's now manager and both winning and losing records is placed on his shoulders.

Let you look back at my post, I said if Aston Villa was a mediocre team when it was not coached by Unai Emery, even before Unai Emery coached Aston Villa in 2022, isn't Aston Villa just a team that ended the season at rank 17?

And at that time even they were only able to pick up 9 points from 11 games and were even lucky enough for them to stay in the premier because only a few more strips they would fall in the championship league at that time.

That's why I say if Unai Emey has brought wonders to the Aston Villa squad and even before Unai Emery came have you seen if Aston Villa at least entered the top 4 so far?
Yes, the changes that have occurred in Aston Villa cannot be separated from the modern football era, but it is not that easy for us to say they are a big team just because they are able to compete in the Conference League today, and if you say Aston Villa is a big team because they are in the third tier of European competition, then how can you call Westham who are now playing in the second tier of European competition?
I personally wouldn't underestimate Aston Villa because of Unay Emery's experience and even they are my favourites to win the Conference League this season guys.

Aston Villa since the start of the season have been very impressive especially in the English Premier League as they're currently in the fourth position of the English Premier League table but I never expected them to be as good as they've been in Europe because most of their players doesn't have enough experience when it comes to European football but surprisingly to me, they've be absolutely incredible with their performances in the UEFA Conference League competition.
Because of the how good Aston Villa have been since the start of the season, many are already if the opinion that they'll definitely win the UEFA Conference League trophy which I'm one of the people who's backing them to win the competition.
Fiorentina haven't been as impressive as Aston Villa but they've been also delivering great performances in the league and that's why I expect either of the two clubs to win the competition at the end of the season.
Aston Villa, which was previously only a small team in the English league, actually changed very drastically when Unai Emery became their coach, earlier this season we never expected if Aston was able to compete in the race for the championship and even at first they were able to beat the big teams in the English league, although now the performance has slightly decreased in the league but we don't see this happening in the conference league at this time,  Like you, I personally am also very believe if Lille will not be able to stop Aston Villa from reaching the Conference League final this season.

Compared to other more experienced team squads in Europe, of course, Aston Villa was initially underestimated, especially when Aston Villa was able to be held to a draw by Ajax in first leg, but Unai Emery experience in successfully bringing teams such as Villareal and Sevilla to win the Europa League certainly made Aston Villa as strong as it is today in the Conference League and it is proven that Aston Villa can beat Ajax with a big score in secound leg even though Ajax is filled with many experienced players in the Europa League , I think Aston Villa will be able to cope with Lille, which is indeed in good form in Ligue 1.

Lille are shown as a bigger favourite than Fenerbahçe according to bookmakers when it comes to winning the Conference League title. But I don't think so honestly. Both sides are strong but I think Fenerbahçe are still one step ahead. I think Fenerbahçe's squad is more impressive generally despite the small gap between squad market values.

Jonathan David is the biggest threat at Lille who is valued at 50 million euros as well. He was one of the rumoured players to join a much bigger team in the past transfer window. There is not a player who has a that high value at Fenerbahçe maybe but the general player quality still seems more impressive to me.  Smiley

The competition between the eight European teams in the Conference League will certainly be fierce in order to become champions for the 2023/2024 season. Of the eight remaining teams, Aston Villa is the team with the greatest chance of winning this competition. I'm not a fan of Aston Villa. But if you look at how they compete in the top four of the EPL, this team will try to give their best game in order to maintain their chances of advancing to the final and becoming champions at the end of the competition. Fiorentina is also considered the favorite team, but based on their performance, Aston Villa really deserves to win this trophy.
Of course, of the 8 teams, only Aston villa has stronger strength compared to other teams. I think Aston villa must be able to focus their energy on reaching the final and winning the Conference League this season. Fiorentina is also strong but I doubt they can perform consistently. Although other teams may not be too strong, it is not impossible that they can surprise us when they play on the field.

Aston villa will face Losc, which is an easy match to predict if for the first leg, Aston villa is very much the favorite to win. Aston villa has quality players in their team this season where Watkins and Diaby are very important in their squad because they are able to play a quite good role in Aston villa progress in the Premier League and in the Conference League.

It was a very good match for Fenerbahçe, I don't think Olympiacos will be a tough opponent for Fenerbahçe. I think Fenerbahçe will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-final opponent will most likely be Aston Villa and this is where the difficulty begins for Fenerbahçe.

Olympiacos should not be underestimated in my opinion. I know Fenerbahce is a good team but it has its bad and week moments that could cost them the qualification.
For Olympiacos, they did an awesome comeback in the second leg while they were 4 goals down with 3 goals difference. Scoring 6 goals this round was one of the best comebacks this season along with PAOK against Dinamo Zagreb. Zagreb was supposed to maintain their two goals advantage but surprise! They received 5 goals this time!
That's to say that UEFA Conference League games are quite unexpected and even the most obvious results could be totally the opposite in the second leg..

I think more than PAOK, it was Olympiacos conceding 4 goals in the first game but then scoring six at return stayed in peoples minds, could be the reason for confusion, both Greek teams, both made a big comeback with a lot of goals. 4-1 loss and then come back and 6-1 win is a lot, it's really not something you see that often.

Normally a team that loses 4-1, do not have the power to win 6-1, because if they were capable of beating a team 6-1, then why would they lose 4-1, or if they are bad enough to lose 4-1, how could they be good enough to comeback and score six. This is why it's rare, it very unique situation and we do not see it too often. Both Greek teams did as well as they could, and we have two of them at the quarter finals now at least.

Could be Aston Villa, could also be Fiorentina, but it depends when these teams play against each other. OSC Lille can't be underestimated. Don't forget that it is still two games to be played in both home stadiums and Aston Villa is not the strongest team away from home. Lille has regained strength over the past few months and if they play a final, I think their underdog role would be at a minimum at most. Fenerbahce is strong and if they make it into the final, I don't think it is a pleasure to play against them.

But in general I agree that Aston Villa is the team with the highest chances even though as I said I don't see them ahead of anyone else by a lot.
Looking at the teams that are going to play in the quarter finals and semi finals UEFA Conference League this season, I think it's very difficult to predict which team that has the edge over the other seven teams but considering how good and impressive Aston Villa have been in the competition since the start of the season, I think they stand a very good chance of bringing the trophy home. Italian Serie A club Fiorentina is also another strong team in the competition that should be considered as one of the favorite teams because how impressive they've been in the competition since the start of the season.
Apart from Aston Villa and Fiorentina, the other team that's still in the knockout stages of the UEFA Conference League competition that should be considered a strong team is Turkish club Fenerbahce. In my opinion, I think one of these teams will surely end up as the winners of the competition

Yes for sure there is some advantage for Aston Villa at first glance, but if it would only be so easy to predict title winners, I think we would be reading about more people confidently placing their bets in advance. But that is not the case. If you go through the winners of the last few years, I think everyone of us has been wrong than right with their guesses as to who is going to make it.

For instance, everyone was praising Leverkusen, and rightfully so! Rightfully! I said all the time that they are my biggest favorite for so many reasons next to Liverpool of course. But what if they did get eliminated now against Qarabaq? Did anyone place a bet here against Leverkusen? If yes, feel free to share the slip because I doubt that anyone has done that as it made literally zero sense unless someone clearly states that they were in for a huge gamble on the massive odds.
