I think more than PAOK, it was Olympiacos conceding 4 goals in the first game but then scoring six at return stayed in peoples minds, could be the reason for confusion, both Greek teams, both made a big comeback with a lot of goals. 4-1 loss and then come back and 6-1 win is a lot, it's really not something you see that often.

Normally a team that loses 4-1, do not have the power to win 6-1, because if they were capable of beating a team 6-1, then why would they lose 4-1, or if they are bad enough to lose 4-1, how could they be good enough to comeback and score six. This is why it's rare, it very unique situation and we do not see it too often. Both Greek teams did as well as they could, and we have two of them at the quarter finals now at least.

Yes for sure there is some advantage for Aston Villa at first glance, but if it would only be so easy to predict title winners, I think we would be reading about more people confidently placing their bets in advance. But that is not the case. If you go through the winners of the last few years, I think everyone of us has been wrong than right with their guesses as to who is going to make it.

For instance, everyone was praising Leverkusen, and rightfully so! Rightfully! I said all the time that they are my biggest favorite for so many reasons next to Liverpool of course. But what if they did get eliminated now against Qarabaq? Did anyone place a bet here against Leverkusen? If yes, feel free to share the slip because I doubt that anyone has done that as it made literally zero sense unless someone clearly states that they were in for a huge gamble on the massive odds.

The conference league has now entered the quarterfinals and of course the teams competing in the quarterfinals are good teams and of course there is nothing we should underestimate, this season we have lost Ajax who is one of the championship candidates in my opinion and now we have seen how fierce competition occurs in the conference league to be the best at the end of the season,  so far,  I personally have some names that might be ideal to win the Conference League such as Aston Villa, Fiorentina and Fenerbache.

But among the teams that are currently in the quarter-finals of course Aston Villa has a great chance to reach the final round, so far Aston Villa is still the most consistent team in every game and I think with the experience capital possessed by Unai Emery of course Aston Villa's chances of winning the championship are wide open this season,  In addition, Aston Villa's performance so far has been very good both in the league and Europa League and it seems difficult for Lille to beat them both in the first leg and the second leg later, I personally predict if Aston Villa will meet one of the teams from Fiorentina or Fenerbache in the final round later.

Aston Villa against Losc Lille is an anticipated final in some way because they are the two most solid teams in the facts. Olympiacos and Fenerbahce can seem something strong but they both show they are so irregular and can lose against much weak teams by big margins without any sense. Fiorentina cn be other contender but for me is one step below to AV and Lille.

The competition between the eight European teams in the Conference League will certainly be fierce in order to become champions for the 2023/2024 season. Of the eight remaining teams, Aston Villa is the team with the greatest chance of winning this competition. I'm not a fan of Aston Villa. But if you look at how they compete in the top four of the EPL, this team will try to give their best game in order to maintain their chances of advancing to the final and becoming champions at the end of the competition. Fiorentina is also considered the favorite team, but based on their performance, Aston Villa really deserves to win this trophy.

Yes you are right PAOK did score five goals, and I thought it was six, but still the score is 5:3 in favor of PAOK.
It's good that they canceled the away goal rule, now the game has become more interesting, and before if a team scored 2-3 away goals and did not concede, you could consider that with 80-90% probability the team will go to the next stage.

PAOK scored five goals the other night, not six. Not that it makes it any better for us Dinamo Zagreb fans, but still. 

I knew that they still had a good chance to reach 1/8 despite the loss in the fiorst game, but I really didn't expect Olympiacos doing that as this year they've been justa a shadow of their usual self (similar to Dinamo in that regard).

Maybe it could have been one of the finales but still I wouldn't put this finale to the top though. Because Ajax aren't the same team we know this season. They haven't been as strong as they were in Erik ten Hag era. 


It was a great performance that's for sure.    4-0 was a really heavy score considering what happened in the first leg. Aston Villa simply showed the quality gap between them this season by a big win.

Considering the teams remaining I think the biggest challengers for the title are Aston Villa, Fenerbahçe and Fiorentina. We will probably see an Aston Villa - Fenerbahçe matchup in the semi finals which would be one of the early finales.

Looking at the teams that are going to play in the quarter finals and semi finals UEFA Conference League this season, I think it's very difficult to predict which team that has the edge over the other seven teams but considering how good and impressive Aston Villa have been in the competition since the start of the season, I think they stand a very good chance of bringing the trophy home. Italian Serie A club Fiorentina is also another strong team in the competition that should be considered as one of the favorite teams because how impressive they've been in the competition since the start of the season.
Apart from Aston Villa and Fiorentina, the other team that's still in the knockout stages of the UEFA Conference League competition that should be considered a strong team is Turkish club Fenerbahce. In my opinion, I think one of these teams will surely end up as the winners of the competition

Could be Aston Villa, could also be Fiorentina, but it depends when these teams play against each other. OSC Lille can't be underestimated. Don't forget that it is still two games to be played in both home stadiums and Aston Villa is not the strongest team away from home. Lille has regained strength over the past few months and if they play a final, I think their underdog role would be at a minimum at most. Fenerbahce is strong and if they make it into the final, I don't think it is a pleasure to play against them.

But in general I agree that Aston Villa is the team with the highest chances even though as I said I don't see them ahead of anyone else by a lot.

The favorite team in the remaining qualifiers in the conference league is Aston Villa, but there are other teams that can be shown as favorites. Fiorentina and Fenerbahçe may have opportunities from these teams. What a turnaround Olympiacos made. I guess everyone except the team thought they were eliminated, but Olympiacos was the side that eliminated.

Olympiacos is a great success, maybe they can continue it in the remaining qualifiers of the cup, why not, they did what seemed impossible once.

Like the Champions League and Europa League, today we have also witnessed the results of the Conference League drawing by presenting some interesting matches to watch, in addition to seeing the greatness of Villa who were able to destroy Ajax with a score of 4-0, we also saw how Olympiacos made an extraordinary comeback in the second leg after they previously lost 1-4 to Maccabi,  But in fact they were able to bounce back in the second leg and turn things around at home to Macabbi by winning 6-1 aggregate while giving a ticket to advance to the quarterfinals of the Conference League.

Looking at the teams that are qualified at the moment I think there is no chance for us to see two big teams meet sooner, Aston Villa and Fiorentina in my opinion are big teams that are strong candidates to face each other in the final later compared to other teams at the moment, Unai Emery's experience in leading a team to win the Europa League allows me to make Aston Villa the favorite this season to win the Conference League trophy this season.

I cant belive how Maccabi lost his head to head against Olimpiacos, you cant waste that gap, and less if youa re in your home.

After the draw seems like the powerfull teams all are in one side, big chance for Fiorentina to reach the finnal without so much effort.

It looks like Aston Villa, Fiorentina and Fenerbahce deserve to be given favorite team status. If you look at the teams that have progressed to the quarter finals, all of them are the strongest teams in this competition, but for Aston Villa, who come from the Premier League, it will be easier. Likewise, Fiorentina and Feberbahce come from a league that is more competitive than the other contestants, these two teams deserve to be favorites to advance further this season. Moreover, like Aston Villa who are currently appearing impressive and are in their best performance, Unai Emery squad has a big chance of advancing to the final and winning the trophy.

Fiorentina were finalists last season, in my opinion the Serie A representatives also have the opportunity to reach the final again this season. But among all the contestants, Aston Villa strength seems too strong for the other contestants, considering that in the Premier League they are a team competing in the top four of the standings in fighting for tickets to the Champions League. Even though it is not as attractive as the Champions League or European League, for teams that have difficulty winning trophies in the domestic league, they will try their best to win this Confederation League trophy.

The victory of Olympiacos over Maccabi is almost a real soccer miracle, because they had to get back after a 1:4 defeat at home and not only that Olympiacos got back also with a score of 4:1, but now away and then in extra time scored the winning goal and with a score of 5:1 went on.
PAOK surprised no less, when they scored 6 goals at home to Dinamo Zagreb and after a 0:2 defeat in Hovatija, PAOK still managed to move on. a
After such games of Greek teams, Aston Villa's 4 goals to Ajax don't seem so incredible anymore.

Yes, Aston Villa is one of the favorites in fighting for the UEFA Conference League title this season because they performed well from the start of the competition.
Aston Villa also showed how stable the quality of their performance was during this season.
In addition, Aston Villa is quite strong team in the Premier League and they have experienced very significant improvement over the past two seasons.
With the tight competition in the Premier League, Aston Villa also has strong mentality because they often face big, strong team.
I personally think that this season for the Premier League and Conference League has been going well for Aston Villa, they are likely to be able to get UCL tickets for next season too.

In the Conference League, my hope is that Aston Villa will only get team that is not too strong because that way they can easily continue to advance to the final.
If they really advance to the final and win the title then it is clear that the achievements in the development of this season can be put to good use.

This match between Aston V and Ajax has just exposed the weakness of Holland Eredivisie league. If Aston V, who is now and average team in the English premiership, can destroy Ajax, a team regarded as the eye of Holland Eredivisie who has consistently made presence in UCL and Europa, then it shows how poor their league has become. Just same period, Dortmund kicked out PSV, the team currently at the top of the Holland Eredivisie league table, from the champions league. If the management of that league is not bothered, I am on their behalf. The domestic league has a direct reflection on the national team so if they have to do well as a country, their local league, where majority of their stars plays, must be up and doing.

Don't be so sure about this because you still have Fiorentina, PAOK, Olympiakos, Lille and Club Brugge in the tournament. Aston V can try but their chances of winning the trophy is just average.

I thought Olympiakos journey will be ended because in the first leg they have already lost 4-1 from Maccabi Tel Aviv especially for second leg Maccabi Tel Aviv will playing as a host so i am very pesimistic Olympiakos will be able to win with big scores too but surprisingly Olympiakos has displayed strong mentally because at the normal time Olympiakos can win 4-1 too and this make the match have to through an extra time and during extra time i can see Olympiakos didn't stopped to pressed Maccabi Tel Aviv defensive lines which make them can able to scores 2 goals and final result is 6-1 for Olympiakos and this result too makes Olympiakos can advances to the quarterfinal with final aggregate 5-7

For other match Aston Villa has been proven that they are deserved to called as the favourite because they can overcomes other favourite team too Ajax and since the beginning of match i can see Aston Villa players is very discipline because although they didn't dominate the match but Aston Villa playing more effective than Ajax and Ollie Watkins can maked Aston Villa to leading the game in the first half and for Ajax they are in the difficult situations especially after Mannsverk got a red card which make Ajax defensive lines is very weak even since that incident Aston Villa can scores more goals and they were successfully to eleminate Ajax with perfect aggregate 4-0

Aston Villa are the favorites here, I don't know at the start of the tournament whether they are the favorites but for now they are very favorites and after that there is Fiorentina and Lille.
For a team like Aston Villa, which struggled in the English Premier League, if they can become champions in the conference league this season, it is certainly a very impressive achievement because after being relegated and managing to climb back up, Aston Villa is just an average team in the English Premier League, one factor in their success is their coach, Unai Emery, who has succeeded in changing this team for the better, and next season they even have the opportunity to play in higher competitions, namely the Champions League or European League, if they are able to maintain their position in the current standings.

When Aston Villa can win a landslide victory over Ajax then they only have to wait for the draw for the quarter-finals, which team will be their opponent later, and my prediction is that they will still have a chance of getting to the semifinals.
