And so it begins, delayed Euro 2020 is finally upon us.
Turkey-Italy is the opening match of Euro 2020 and will be played tonight at 9pm CET at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Turkey is a balanced national team and must be faced with great respect. Trained by Senol Gunes, already in charge as coach in the early 00's, they can count on important players. Three out of all, the Milan player Calhanoglu and the two Lille guys, Burak Yilmaz and Yazici. The last defeat came in October, while recently there have been 2 draws and 4 victories, one of which with Holland (4-2) in the qualifying round for Qatar 2022.
Having said all this I believe tonight Italy will win by one goal.

Bookmakers consider Italy a clear favorite, but I wouldn't be so sure about that. Turkey is now in great shape and is capable of giving Italy a good fight back. This is the first match that opens the tournament, there will be a lot of attention to it and the teams will have a sense of responsibility before the result. Therefore, the game can be careful and a draw is possible, and I think that Turkey will score at least one goal today.

here is a bet that makes sense! to bet on the fact that there are goals during the match
I hope so, but national team matches at this level are always boring
only the finals give great satisfaction
in my opinion

I am guessing Italy 1:0 Turkey tonight,to be honest,i don't know much about either team.
In the final i guess it's France vs Portugal again, but this time the winner is France. Because this time France has Benzema, haha.

it seems that the favorite is Italy
I honestly don't know what to think
unfortunately I don't follow the national teams very much because the matches are extremely boring from my point of view, let's see I will give this European a chance

What are your bets for Italia vs Turkey?

I believe Italy wins, but it won't be an easy game.
It won't be easy but Italy are stronger and can win this match but they will have to keep their eyes on Calhanoglu and avoid fools and free kicks. He is very dangerous with his free kicks. Roberto Mancini and Italian players know well about Calhanoglu and he can decide matches with one successful free kick.

In addition, Turkey come to this Euro with a best squad they have in recent years. It can be the best Turkey squad in the last decade and they can create big surprise if Italy won't be careful.

I agree. Italy still have the advantage of playing at home, and this can help motivate players, especially after a year without fans at the stadium.

This year many countries will have that advantage... playing at home. A thing that starts to be criticized by many, but this is how it is organized.

I agree with this and I expect Portugal to take 2nd spot in this group just behind France. Germany was the team that really disappointed me with recent performances and I believe they will have to get lucky to progress as the 3rd placed team with enough points. Best 4/6 teams that ended third in the group will also qualify for the knockout stage.

Yup, I feel the same way. Germany looks worse than France and Portugal both on paper and on the pitch. It is the only group that has 3 teams of such calibre, some groups have only one.

Since the 4 best 3rd placed teams are going through, I expect Germany to pass the group as well though.

Nobody thinks Italy who has not lost a game in a very long time to do well? But how about a hidden team like Russia or maybe Turkey or at least to look at Belgium? You see they actually play quite well as a team rather than as individuals and occassionally you can find them play incredible games especially as they could be motivated extra by playing a big team.

Italy will be favorite the Winner, the score, who create goal first and different goal could be much for discussed. However, there is an opinion that Italy will lose against Turkey because the squad has Hakan Calhanoglu as AC Milan forward and Yusuf Yazidi (create hat trick in Donnarumma as a keeper), Italy might have to watch those guy. Possibly they can create opening ceremony surprise which often happens in the opening match.
Italy can control the match and under Mancini management, they have unbeatable record for very long time. Turkey is not a weak opponent and they can have some moments to score goals that can be equalizer or winning goal. Defenders and midfielders of Italy will have to play very careful and make sure they won't allow Turkey players too many space and opportunities to make deadly counter attacks.

Turkey has their tradition to make surprise in big tournament and with this generation, they can repeat it.

Almost 30 games in a row unbeaten, 0 goals conceded in last 8 games. It will be very difficult challenge for Turkey.
Am going for Turkey with a surprise win here ,Italy is not the same team we knew.
Risk for placing a bet for Turkey = what LTU_BTC mentioned + it is Italy and they play in Rome.
Benefits = winning big @8 is ridiculously great odds!
I think BTTS @2.4 and a draw @3.8 are possible.

The 13th player always made a difference but knowing that most of these players played their league football without fans for most of the season....having fans around could feel odd but hoping they make the difference and motivate them too 👍
