According to the Swedish Football Association, Dejan Kulusevski and Mattias Svanberg were both positive for COVID-19 and will miss the first EURO match against Spain. Kulusevski remained in Stockholm while Svanberg travelled with the rest of the team to Gothenburg but was isolated at the team hotel. As of yet, no replacements have been called up.
I hope that the replacement will be a good or on par with the two players because they will be crippled against Spain if they are lousy with their pick.

Italy win or draw. I do not expect another outcome. The last two meetings between the teams ended in a draw (1: 1).So I think this match will be the same. Both teams have gained good shape.Italy won their last 7 matches and conceded only one goal, although the opponents were not as strong as Turkey. You can bet on both goals.

Do you still believe in a tie between Italy and Turkey?
It's not devaluing Turkey, but Italy has all the conditions to win that game. If you don't win, it could be a bad sign.
Turkey is not an easy team. Together with Belgium, they are one of the two teams to concede the fewest goals in the group stages. They conceded only 3 goals in the matches they played. Their group also included France. They conceded 1 goal from France in two matches. Therefore, it may be correct to say that Italy will win, but it cannot be said that if it does not win.

Do you really think the German team can win against France? Look at the squad in France, lots of star players.
To answer your question about that , yes i think that is possible that the german team can win against France.
Having a lot of star players on the team dosnt say anything , we have seen that on the game Germany vs Brazil in Brazil.

LOL, I also thought wtf is Lettland Cheesy. It really sounds like name of team from some lower division. But yeah, it's Latvia.
Yeah sorry that was my misstake to have written it in german and yes it was meant to be Latvia.
Thanks for correcting  Smiley

Today Spain went it players under the age of 21 i think and won big against Lithuania as well.France also won solidly against Bulgaria will be an intresting EUROs
Seems that most big countries selected very weak opponents for their last game before EURO. Well, it makes sense, I think.
Spain weren't able to play with main squad because Busquets got covid. Interesting, what if there will be covid outbreak in one of teams during EURO? And when you look at Spain U21 squad and clubs of players, quality of this team isn't much worse than main squad, so, nothing surprising that they won big.

England - Croatia is another interesting game in Round 1. It is going to be played in Wembley and there are going to be limited number of supporters (max 22500). And the game is this Sunday. England are the overwhelming team here of course. I see Croatia as away from their old performance. But who knows, maybe they can make a much greater effort in this tournament. But I think that England will manage to beat them with a 1 or 2-goal difference.

@ILuckyGuyI indeed England are the favourites to win this match, but I feel they have many player’s who could be ruled out due to injuries, and even the existing one look too tired so it’s an even game for me. Furthermore if you see England last match they literally laboured to a 1 - 0 victory, hence they may not be all powerful like they look.

You may be right but I don't know whether it is very true to make predictions depending on the results of friendlies. Because they didn't have the main squad on the field fully also. I assume that they will take things much more seriously here. But this won't be an easy one for England of course.

P.s. at first I supposed Lettland was some kind of German lower team but then I remembered that German was going to play with Latvia (that is the English word for your Lettland  Grin) and I understood what you were talking about.
LOL, I also thought wtf is Lettland Cheesy. It really sounds like name of team from some lower division. But yeah, it's Latvia.
They conceded 7 goals, but it's worth to say that Latvia scored really beautiful goal.
Just few days remaining until proper football will begin. Can't wait.

Latvia didnt stand a chance against Germany. They showed how powerfull they are and that they will do something big in the tournament.Today Spain went it players under the age of 21 i think and won big against Lithuania as well.France also won solidly against Bulgaria will be an intresting EUROs

Benzema got an injury in his knee. He was back on the bench and he was crying.
Quite unfortunate to see Benzema in this situation, this could be another devastating return for him, he played the first game I was expecting him to be benched in the second game, he was not managed and I blame the coach for it. It just a few days to the EUROs and this injury could take 2 or 3 weeks which means his chances of making the final squad is hanging on the tread.

But I see Group F as a hell of a group because they have to meet Germany, France and Portugal as a great team. From here they also have to be able to fight to qualify and indeed that is not a benchmark, but I believe Germany can get through with the first phase.

Of the three, I think Germany is the most streamlined. It's the one that will have to work harder to get through the group stage.
Portugal and France have a better chance of passing. But Germany is Germany, it can always surprise.

France and Germany might qualify for the next round, I honestly think that Portugal might slip this time. It doesnt really matter though which team ended up getting the 3rd place because top four of the 3rd placed team will qualify for the next round as well so there is a good chance that all of those teams will qualify

Training games...

International friendly game but 7 goals scored on that game was quite impressive though even for a friendly game

Whatever, Germany seems to be prepared with a relatively convincing win last night in the last preparation game, but now the real deals are waiting with France and Portugal.

After the German national team won 7:1 against Latvia yesterday, Joachim Löw plans to with the same lineup against France. Only Leroy Sané could move into the lineup for Kai Havertz.

Joachim Löw is planning to start with today's exact same lineup against France. The only remaining question mark is who will start between Havertz and Sané [Bild]

Source: https://twitter.com/iMiaSanMia/status/1402022347813576710

Personally, I think Joachim Löw should start with the same lineup against France after the strong game yesterday. Thomas Müller and Kai Haverts, in particular, put in a very good performance yesterday and made a significant impact on the game. I'm really excited to see how the German national team will perform at the European Championship.

This is actually not what he said Smiley I listened to the interview and he said nothing is set in stone and there is still a variety of considerations to be made. If he takes out Havertz and let's Sane play I will switch off my TV. Löw sucks anyway, but that would be a disaster. Sane couldn't deliver in almost a single game last season, and Havertz is in great shape with a lot of confidence.

Which coach would take Havertz out in exchange for Sane?

It was a really Goal festival yesterday from the German Team against Lettland with a 7 to 1 scored goals .
Also it was the 100th Game for Manuel Neuer as goalkeeper in the german National Team .
I just saw the review and the goals was scored very good and it looks like they have found together as a team .

Training games... not much too look for in those games even if sometimes Germany seems to play that way with stronger teams too.

It just saddens me the way he left the national team, the man thought about staying or leaving for days, and no one even tried to keep him on the team. You are fighting for such a player in all possible ways, because what Luka Modric is for the midfield, it is Mandzukic for the attack - and everyone who watched the match against Belgium saw how Modric plays even at the age of 35.
Dude is 35-36 years old, it is normal that players may want to take the off-season as a break during this period so that they could rest and be ready for the next season, when you are in your twenties it is easier to play during the summer and go back to playing on regular season as well but when you reach that 35 year old level and more that becomes a big problem for everyone.

Ronaldo is the only one I can remember that is still very good and playing at a very high level, almost every other player becomes not as good as they used to be after 35 and you can see the steep decline, and their body usually doesn't hang in that tight. I know that everyone thinks professional sports people have amazing body but they push their body so much that most of the time almost all professional players break down and have health problems after 60+ years old because of how much they pushed their body, so it is important to relax and take a break during summers.

It is great that the matches will be held in 12 different cities. If this was in a single country, maybe it would be safer since we are in the process of pandemic. However, I still think that the cities taking part in this championship will be completely safe. I think Italy will beat Turkey in the first match.

At the same time, it will be more advantageous for several participating teams, as they will always play at home.
The model is interesting, but before only one team benefited from playing at home, now we have 3 or 4 with that advantage.

In all countries where tournament matches will be played, 20-35% of the stadium capacity was planned for the fans. This adds even more excitement. A big advantage for teams that will play at home. The opening match of the tournament will be such a match. Italy will play a match against Turkey in the Rome stadium in the opening match.  For Italy, they can show a more pressure game with the advantage of the fans.

Here is the official calendar for Euro 2020:

by UEFA

The championship starts with an Italia - Turkey, on June 11th.
What do you think will be the result of the first European game?

kulusevski has been found positive too for COVID.
Sweden is under test now.

Was too hard for UEFA/FIFA to vaccinate all the players like Tokyo is doing for the Olympic summer games?

Even now the majority of the population remains unvaccinated in the EU, with only a small fraction having received both the doses. For example in Germany, 22% have been fully vaccinated and another 24% has received one dose of the vaccine. For UEFA, there is no question of affordability. They can afford to spend millions on the vaccine. But the problem is that a lot of people would oppose if the football players are included in the priority list and given a chance to get vaccinated. Because even a large proportion of those with comorbidities are yet to receive vaccine doses in the EU.
