Previously I thought Italy might still be able to win in the final match later, but after I realized the English team that seemed to have a stronger defense and also, I just realized that England now looks stronger in every line. Also, with the full support of playing at home then I think England will really be champions this time around, considering the aging Italian defender who looks likely to be overwhelmed by England's attacks.

Throughout the entire tournament, Italy has impressed but England seems to grow stronger every match. My bet is on Italy so I really need them to win, but I think you're right. Home advantage after a season of Corona and no crowds, it's going to be a really really tough atmosphere for the Italians.

Chiellini can handle Sterling but not Kane I guess.

i think they should have been tested right now to see if there is a positive result in their team, and if that happened they would have announced it by now, i hope it doesn't affect them in any way and they perform in the final the same way they did throughout the whole tournament and win the title, even in England and i still believe Italy can make it, they're the favorites to win for me.
Only if they can have their best players especially in the defense system. If they lose either Bonucci or Chiellini or both, they will lose their power and become weaker.

England have enough attacking players to score goals and I know Italy can score goals as well but the final match will be hold in England, at the Wembley stadium. I am waiting for good news from Italy and wish that they will begin the match with best players as they have now.

2 doses of vaccine even can not prevent the infection 100%. Vaccinated people can still be able to be infected and the vaccine is to help the reduce risk of hospitalization, death, etc. It only helps to reduce the infection if the community have good immunity rate.

2 dose are better than 1 dose of course

I hope none of the coaching staff or first team players get tested positive as that could result to potential postponement or cancellation, If it is warranted. But if they'll have to player whatever squad they can put together, I'm not sure that would be worth it, since this stage is what they've worked for all tournament long.
It would be a terrible for their preparation. The final match is coming and I hope both teams will have their best players for the match. It is a big match and I don't want either Italy or England miss some of important players just because of the damn virus.

The team is vaccinated but I don't know if only 1 dose or they already did the second dose of Pfizer.
Anyway, no big rumors about it here in Italy yet.

I´m really concerned about this news from the Italian Football Federation that some members of Italian TV have Covid-19, this has set off the alarms:

Italian football federation panic after TV crew members test positive for Covid
I was fearful when I saw Italian players celebrated with tifosi in the quarter final and semi final. I know they are too excited but it looks very risk. Anyway one more match so I wish luck to Italy and I hope they will begin the final with best players.

Forza Azzurri.

The first factor that plays into the hands of England is the location. Playing in the Wembley stadium means a lot for the English team. The second factor are the fans.
Yes, playing at home always makes the difference, England team absolutely will feel it. By playing at Wembley, they should play more comfortably and have a bigger spirit with big supports from fans. With this situation, I believe that England team will take advantage of the mentality and probably prepare better since they are at home. Another factor that England team is in the top performance during this competition. They won't miss the chance to win EURO 2020, so they will play all out.
On the other hand, it can also interfere because of excessive excitement in front of their native stands, because let's not forget that the England national team has never won the European Championship, unlike the Italian national team, and the responsibility is very high. The Italian national team also does not want to miss its chance, so it is difficult to name a clear favorite in the upcoming match. Moreover, in my personal opinion, the tournament grid of Italy was stronger than that of the English national team, so I would give a slight preference to Italy in strength. In any case, everything will be decided in one match and anything can happen, and this Euro 2020 has already given us a lot of incredible scenarios.

2 days to go for the grand final between England and Italy. Denmark fought really well against England in the semi final. But they couldn't resist to England in the extra time. If we saw the penalty shoot-outs, then maybe Denmark would manage to eliminate them. I can't also say that England didn't deserve to reach this level. Maybe they didn't have as hard competitors as Italy. But still, they showed a great performance in those games.

Italy on the other hand had a really hard draw against Spain. And Spain didn't surprise us with their gameplay. But they were also the better side in 90 minutes actually. Still Italy managed to eliminate them playing smart. They've also deserved this level. It's going to be a really interesting game. I hope that we see the penalty shoot-outs this time.  Grin
Its a difficult game to predict and against the odds i think italy is somehow closest to win this title they faced some really strong teams belgium and spain are not easy to pass throught but italy team has efficiency on the opposite side ive seen england games and they miss a lot of oppurtunities i think that they should be carefull not to do that in the final.

Italy should be able to keep up with the quick football of England first. England's playing style is way different than Spain for example. England like to play fast and score like that. Sterling and Kane are the most dangerous players to me. I wonder what Italy are going to do against an opponent like this. Will they maintain their style or try a different gameplay?

I think Italy will return to the style of play similar to their first matches in the competition. A style somewhat similar to England.
Try to have the ball and make quick moves.

If both teams bet on this style of play, we will have a very lively game.
I believe it will be a great show of good football.

The biggest problem of England is Southgate. He is too observative and does not react fastly with match situation. He waits too late to make substitutions and are fearful of changes or substitutions.
This is not true, at least in my opinion. Gareth Southgate has been really good thus far in this tournament, especially in his team selection and that's the reason why England have gone this far, making it to the final, coaches do not really rush into making substitutions, as they try to observe how the game is going, if it needs a substitution yet, or if the players on the pitch can still turn the game around; Southgate is a good coach, and I'm pretty sure England as a nation will be happy to have him as their manager.
England only problem is their goalkeeper. That should be your frank point. And that's why I agree if they go to penalties they are more likely to lose.
Pickford makes errors once in a while and I personally think sometimes he is over enthusiastic, but generally he is not a bad goalkeeper, and in this tournament thus far he has been good, keeping a good amount of cleansheets and helping the team when they need him, I don't think he'll be a disadvantage to England should the game to to a penalty shoot-out.
Southgate as a coach has been phenomenal so far for England. His game plan has made England reach this far,and his tactics is exceptional.Talking about the changes he makes,he has been making the right changes anytime he makes changes. The likes of Saka and Sterling performing well on almost all the matches is as a result of the good changes he makes. And as a coach, you must be careful while making changes, because you can cause a big blunder which will make you loose your game while making changes if you are not careful. So the man is a really good coach.

We have 2 days left for the final game. England are really lucky that they're going to play in the home stadium. Let's see whether they will manage to turn it into an advantage. Because they should be prepared really well against a team like Italy. Their job will be too hard against them.
Looking forward to this match and really hope Italy will make it .
England is and was for sure lucky the last 2 games that they have played in there home stadium , also i guess they would be not this far if they havnt played there.
Italy can beat them im sure but it will be hard for them too and i hope we see an nice and good final match of the EM.

Whole Italian team is vaccinated against covid, therefore I don't expect drastic situation. They should all be immune, but as we know vaccination does not prevent 100% cases, maybe one or two members could test positive and that is only if they were really close with the camera crew. In the end it will be just one more covid test for the whole team.

I just hope there will be fair refereeing in the game. This whole Euro looks like somebody in UEFA decided it is time for England to finally win one big title.

Italian football federation panic after TV crew members test positive for Covid

Quote
The Italian football federation (FIGC), informed of the positive test results of the crew members in the early hours of the morning, have closed the doors of its sports centre to protect both the team and the coaching staff. The in-person press conference with the players, scheduled for today, was cancelled and was held remotely, via video link.

I think they should be very careful because in the Copa América something similar happened with the footballers, when they left Venezuela they were healthy, but when they arrived in Brazil they already had the virus and had to play with the substitutes.

Italians should take care of preventive measures, because England is quite strong.

I hope none of the coaching staff or first team players get tested positive as that could result to potential postponement or cancellation, If it is warranted. What is clear is that the English fear Roberto Mancini's Italy and in particular its defensive solidity, combined with Jorginho's strategic acumen and Federico Chiesa's unstoppable speed.
Given what we have seen during Euro2020 the only reason I see England favored by bookmakers is because they play home. In Italy they would have had probably no choice.
The defense of Italy is feared by all the teams and even in the match against Spain in the semifinal they had the ball possession most of the match but they were not able to score the goal considering the number of attempts Spain made. I never thought England would reach the semifinals let alone the finals like majority here but they displayed an attacking game than usual and so was the reason they were able to reach the finals.

Final result of the game? 2-1 or 3-1 for Italy. You will see.
Reading the British press I can definitely say that the LAST opponent they wanted for the final was Italy.
Coach Gareth Southgate defined it as "the most uncomfortable team that could happen to us in the final".
I bet.
I doubt Italy will be scoring three goals, England will be attacking and Italy will be hell bend on defending their fortress like they did against Spain, the match depends on how England could score a goal against Italy.

The only way for Italy to win would be to score an early goal and keep that as an advantage and I think its pretty exciting to watch if either of these teams score an early goal and the other team score an equalizer right before the game ends. That would be very dramatic though instead of just watching the game goes to 0-0 until the full 90 minutes
Hello man! Something I haven't seen you on the forum for a long time!  Kiss

All these final discussions are of course good, but I'm in anticipation that it will be a boring game since both teams are pretty conservative. To be honest, I'm a little upset that there is no match for third place, given that in a parallel American tournament such a match will take place tonight. I mean, as mentioned in another thread, matches like this are often very dynamic, and I'm pretty sure a match like this would satisfy all the desires of hardcore fans.

The team that can score the first goal will definitely get an extra advantage. Because the defense of both the teams is very strong. It will not be easy to break through such a defense and score a goal. But I think both teams can score and the match will be drawn 2-2.

Both teams can score anytime.

Obviously this is the most expected case to happen considering that Italy has scored 12 goals so far, alot of fans are expecting them to score but so far England is the only team with the least number of conceded goals.

Going to be a huge game for sure, I hope it remains exciting till the very last minute. No early decider please. Wink

I think the game will end in normal 90 minutes, because after considering their match in the semi-final which was played with a lot of discipline, it is very possible for both teams to find it difficult to score but when one of them scores first then I believe in the next the team will play full defensive football. So yes, I predict the match will be tough but I believe the match will end in normal time, previously I thought Italy could do better but for now I feel the two teams are balanced and even I feel England are a bit better and benefit from playing at home too.

Was an expecting an easy win from Italy didnt expect Spain to be a lot better then them, but Italy grabbed a win in the penalties.Italy have really fast players and high quality ones so its normal that they played an amazing tactical game against Spain. They will probobly do same against England as well
