I have a fondness for underdog teams. It’s always exciting to see how underdog teams perform and whether they can replicate the fairy-tale runs of past teams like Denmark in 1992. Could you predict an underdog team for this tournament? Taking Denmark’s surprising victory in Euro 1992 as an example, it seems every Euro tournament has its dark horse. In this tournament, I believe Albania, despite being in the so-called ‘Group of Death’, could be the ideal underdog.
It makes sense if Albania is the dark horse team at the Euros this time. The reason is, Albania's performance in the qualifying round was quite impressive, because Albania was able to beat a strong team like Poland and was also able to beat the Czechs. But the problem is that Albania is currently in a very difficult group. The reason is that Albania is in group B with Italy, Croatia and Italy. So even though Albania was quite good in the qualifying round, I have a little doubt that Albania can qualify for the knockout phase, considering that the team they will face is indeed a great team in group B.

Apart from that, I personally believe Türkiye will be the dark horse team at this Euro. The reason is that in the qualifying round, Turkey managed to show quite good performance. The proof alone is that Türkiye was also able to beat Croatia in the qualifying round. Apart from that, what was even more surprising was that in a friendly match, Turkey managed to beat the hosts of this year's Euro, Germany. Apart from that, Türkiye is also in group F with Portugal, Czechia and Georgia. So Turkey definitely has quite a big potential to enter the knockout phase, because of course only Portugal will make things difficult for Turkey in group F. So you can be sure that Turkey can be a strong candidate to become a dark horse team at this Euro.

I stand with Ukraine!
It's clear that I say that it's not wise to choose a team that's not a favorite in 1X2 betting, because few match results are beyond expectations like what happened to Argentina in the previous WC event when they were defeated by Saudi Arabia. So make sure we are in safe side to win the bet.
The most challenging task for big teams in any big tournament is going through a group with ticket to a first knock out phase. It's not matter that you play good, impressive or bad in group phase, if you can go to a first knock out phase, you have 50/50 chance to beat your opponent and move next. Since knock out phase, big team that are most united, disciplined and ambitious will be able to beat even stronger team.

Stronger or weaker in knock out phase is only one of factors to decide a winner. Argentina in World Cup 2022 is an example and Italy in Euro 2021 is another example. History has more stories like this with Greece, Denmark, Italy in some World Cups, even Germany too.

If a gambler goes to a 1X2 bet, OFC the favorite team will be the choice, that will be a real differentiator even though then will only get odds that tend to be smaller. For gamblers who dare to take risks, it's very unwise to go for a 1X2 bet & choose a team that's not the favorite, because the possibility of that happening is impossible (IMO).
Unwise to go for 1x2 against the favourite, you say?
Possibility is... impossible you say?

Are you sure you know what you're talking about? Wink

Look again at what I said before, mate. Let me be clear:

Looking at the current condition of the club and taking into account the strengths and players, Portugal's potential is very large now when compared to other teams.
Portugal is currently quite complex from players on every line because looking at some of the names brought for the euro this time the Portuguese players are really above average.

Defensively they have some great players who have been in high European competition like Dallot, Cancelo, Pepe or Mendes, in midfield they have some creative players like Vitinha, Bruno and of course Bernardo. For the attack they have Felix, Jota and Cristiano not to mention their young players who are currently in prime condition Leao who indeed sees from the depth of the current squad Portugal is really very good and terrible to see it's just that teamwork is clearly important and Portugal always has problems that make the players sometimes underestimated.

For the group stage I think Portugal will be very comfortable to qualify for the next phase but for other clubs there are also several

Portugal is placed in an easy group, and qualifying to the next phase should be very easy for them. They were really good in the match against Republic of Ireland today. More importantly, Cristiano Ronaldo once again proved that age is just a number, with two superb goals. Portugal had an ideal mix of experienced players and younger ones for this match, and the attack was being led by João Félix and Rafael Leão in addition to Ronaldo.
Portugal in Group F and the opponent teams seems not an easy group behind Georgia as the debut national teams success qualifying to Euro 2024 and has two difficult opponent teams Turkiy and Czech Republic national teams.
First match, Portugal will face Czech Republic and the winning on friendly match against Ireland as good opportunity to secure first three points and make easily for leading the Group F standings position, has difficult opponent teams for Portugal against Turkiy on second matches in Euro 2024 but getting two consecutives winning will make automatically qualified to 16 of round.
Cristiano Ronaldo on confidence performance for the first match after success scoring two goals against Ireland last match, will be the sweet memorize for him on the last appearance in Euro 2024?

Portugal, which is in group F, may have the potential to qualify from group qualification. But not because this is a group filled with easy teams. Because there are Türkiye and the Czech Republic which are also quite strong. but indeed Portugal has a FIFA Rank above these three teams. Georgia is at the bottom of the FIFA rankings. But the quality of the national team may be different from their ranking in FIFA. So the results will remain difficult to predict.

But maybe we are all optimistic that Portugal will be able to qualify from this group stage. And actually I want to see Cristiano Ronaldo get sweet memories at Euro 2024. Because maybe this could be his last Euro with the Portuguese national team.

This group will be very easy for Portugal to qualify because they are more experience than every other countries there, though Turkey is also a very strong team considering there history of football, so they are actually team that would give Portugal a very difficult time on this group and also considering there meetings I think Turkey may likely find it very easy to win Czech Republic, though I no that Czech Republic is also a difficult team to underestimate but I doubt if they will stand a chance against Turkey meanwhile Portugal on the other hand will be meeting Georgia which we no for sure that Portugal is the favourite to win the match and unless they are no longer the team we use to no.

Looking at the current Portugal squad, I also have full hopes for them at this Euro, because Portugal has top players and good talents from the back line to the attackers, such as Ruben Dias, Pepe, Bruno Fernandes, Joao Palhinha, Ruben Neves, Bernardo Silva, as well as Diogo Jota and C. Ronaldo, especially many of the new generation from Portugal who are very talented and have extraordinary hard work.

With this, I think Portugal is one of the favorites to win the Euro this time because with very good players they also have a very professional coach, namely Roberto Martínez, with this there is a big possibility that Portugal will win the Euro title this time year.
even if they don't win in the Euros, Portugal has a team collection that will serve as a serious threat to any opponent they will go against. Seeing christian Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandez on the same team, I would want to see how well they would be able to blend into the game and play together to strengthen there attack.

The media seems to be suggesting that the two weren't exchanging talks in good terms due to Ronaldo's explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticised United and boss Erik ten Hag. We know how these media guys can make a big deal out of nothing and I just hope that Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandez will put thier total dedication and level of experience together and help thier national team to at least the Euro finals.

Can you share the data that form this analysis? I feel like this sidelined a lot of things such as group stage, overall team performance, match-ups, etc. I'm not sure how motivated Mbappe and other brilliant players to win individual awards, but I doubt it affects how other countries perform in other groups. I guess you can also redefine what is considered an underdog season. I believe any underdog exists in every competition, but they won't make it past the semis in most scenarios. Even qualifying past the group stage can be an incredible achievement depending on which teams you're looking at.

Btw, I believe you accidentally made a double post. You can delete the previous one since it respond to the same post.
Underdog teams from clubs to national teams don't appear too often. In Euro, we can recall some underdogs like Denmark, Czech, Greece and in Coppa America we can recall Chile but they don't usually appear and win Euro title or Coppa America title.

Strength of a team from club to national level, comes from many players and coach team, a single star player is hard to carry a whole weak team to success and title. Modern football is different than decades ago when one star player with a magnificent tournament was able to carry his team to title. In modern football, a star player is only a piece of a team that need to be strong as a block and not only eleven debut players but alternative players on bench too. With latest changes in total substitutions for each match since Covid-19 pandemic, importance of alternative players becomes bigger. If a team don't have good alternative players, it's more difficult to succeed against competitors.

I have carefully studied the season that under dogs normally emerge. Underdogs come to play when there is no much individual title in that season to win. Just like the ballon d'or will likely be determined by the efforts of Vini Junior in Copper America, Mbappe and Jude in Euro. Those guys will give their best and thereby not make the season an underdog season.

This is my country's group at the same time which is Turkey. We don't have an easy job to do to be honest. Ronaldo is still a really good finisher at the age of 39. Our most challenging opponent is Portugal obviously. I expect them to finish the group as the leader. In that case we must finish right behind instead of risking it with the best 3rd team in all groups. We should be able to defeat Georgia. Czechia match might be challenging but I hope to see us winning with our skilled young players.  Smiley
The group F of the summer UEFA Euros Championship I don't think should give us issues when we want to predict the teams that going to progress from the group. Portugal undoubtedly possesses the strongest squad in that group and I don't expect them to struggle from qualifying to the knockout stages. Turkey on the other hand I think stands a better chance that any of Czech Republic and Georgia to reach the knockout stages as well.
Though it's easy for us to predict but in football, anything is just possible and that's why you could see a team that's underrated go all the way to shock everyone. If we should expect any shock in group F, then it'll definitely be between between Turkey, Czech Republic and Georgia shocking themselves but I don't think there's anything that's gonna stop Portugal from winning the group.

It is true that in every competition, there is this underdog factor. But in most of the competitions, the underdog factor is very small and most times ends immediately after the group match. But in some of the tournaments, the underdogs are so dominant that they could make it to the semi-finals and even the finals. I have carefully studied the season that under dogs normally emerge. Just like the ballon d'or will likely be determined by the efforts of Vini Junior in Copper America, Mbappe and Jude in Euro. However, I am not totally writing off the underdogs, but they won't be dominant this time.

The 3rd best team (if any) will face the winner of group A (Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland), while the winner of group F will face the 3rd A/B/C.
The third placed team of group F (if qualified to the knockout stage) will face the winner of group B or the winner of group C.
The winner of group A will face the the second placed team of group C.

Yep, any team in group F definitely wants to become the winner of the group because runner up will face the winner of group D (France, Netherlands, Poland, Austria).
The 3rd best team (if any) will face the winner of group A (Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland) B or C, while the winner of group F will face the 3rd A/B/C.
I dont underestimate Turkey, but it would be better if they could avoid France/Spain/England in the round of 16.
Turkey must be able to beat Georgia and Czech with lots of goals and at least be able to hold Portugal to a draw if they want to win group F.

I think our team is in a bad situation(Tukey), I don't think we can get out of this group. Our squad is still not fully determined.
The game we played in the friendly matches is terrible.
Melih Demiral has no place in the squad. He should go and play in Saudi Arabia.

I still haven't figured out Vincenzo Montella's system, no one knows what he wants to do.

The Portuguese has great squad to qualify top in that group F though the group looks some how difficult for them but with there current form adding with player like Cristiano Ronaldo In the team the highest point any other team in that group F will get from Portugal is 1 point which is draw because I believe Portugal will win all 3 game with 9 point toping the group F.

Why did you have so much confidence of Croatia to win or draw against Spain?
I don’t think Spain will lose their opening match of the tournament, but just as Spain wouldn’t want losing, Croatia will also be willing to win or the point in the match but it will be difficult for them.

Hungary on the other hand might not even play a draw against Switzerland.

I don't have a lot of confidence in these bets. Like I said I just wanted it to be more exciting to follow. It is just for fun in short.  Smiley

Croatia are a really unpredictable team. They have capable players and their style surprises bigger favourites from time to time. I'm just trying my luck, who knows. We will see how prepared these teams are.

Hungary had a really good qualification phase. The odds for two sides are like 3.35 for Hungary, 2.26 for Switzerland. I can't say Switzerland are also a very clear favourite so I'm just taking my chances.  Tongue
