I guess that England was prepared for the penalty shootout against Switzerland, but playing 120 minutes in two consecutive games would probably have a negative impact over the physical performance of the English team in the semi-final. It still boggles me how England with their boring and slow style managed to get to the semi-finals. I think that a stronger opponent would simply destroy them at the final.
I wasn't expecting Turkey to play that good against Netherlands, but the Dutch team was simply better at the second half.
France and Portugal were kinda equal in in their performance, even though the French team missed the better goal opportunities.
Spain-Germany was a great match, but Toni Kroos had to receive a red card in the second half.

In this tournament, France is playing bad, England is bad, Netherlands is bad, but they all reached the semi final. Spain is by far playing the best football. It would be a surprise if Spain doesn't become champion. Underdog teams like Türkiye, Switzerland and Austria played much better than these teams in this tournament. As a result, the cup will go to one of the favorite teams again, this is clear.
But what if in the end they still play badly and then one of them becomes champion, wouldn't that be even more surprising? I think it's still a possibility and I think everyone will be sick of the Euros this year. The reason is that as a top team they should be able to give a good performance, even though their players are also top players in their respective clubs.

Spain is our only hope of winning this year and if they don't face Germany in the previous match, these two teams should be the ones who deserve to be in the final. But unfortunately the two met sooner and this time I hope Spain can silence one of these teams in the final. Regarding Turkey, Switzerland, Austria, they have tried their best but their efforts are not enough to gain luck against these bad teams.

If I may say so, this match was really boring. I thought yesterday's match between Portugal and France was the most boring match but today we saw another boring match.
The ball was mostly in the middle of the pitch, both teams were short on chances and even the on target chances were really poor.

For Switzerland this might be a normal situation because they will definitely be a bit defensive, but for England they should be better than this because after all they are a champion candidate even compared to other national teams in the quarter-finals this time they are the team that has the greatest probability of winning. But with the game they had it really doesn't reflect a team that has a strong probability of winning the Europa this time.

England team lacks a good decisive coach. The match formation wasn't anything to write home about. But, recently after the Switzerland goal, England made some meaningful changes which I think empowered Saka to equalize the game. The games are quite boring because of the expectations we have on England and the other teams like Portugal. These are strong teams, but their performances are below the expectation. Not that viewers placed a high expectance. Yet, I'd say that these teams are being matched with other competent teams of equal level of skill which don't allow one party to perform extremely well as expected. I still wonder why the England coach have not been sanctioned for his blunders.
Indeed, from the beginning of the British power which incidentally was superior where they had into a good squad but it was the coach who was a problem for them today because it was until now Southgate was unable good but because of a bad formation and lack of southgate in training it actually makes the conditions bad and even if it can be said for now Southgate is not in accordance with the current price (salary).

Fortunately, for Euro this time England was in an easier pot where they only did a match against the team under them and not united with several other strong teams such as Germany, Spain and France which made them still a favorite to go to the final despite performance They are not very good.
But on the other hand, now England has been to the semi -finals and inevitably Southgate must change his bad habits to get to the final because they see the English opponents faced from the group phase until now, only the semi -final against the Dutch can be said as a balanced game Because previously the opponents of England were always below in terms of level.

It is needless to blame Ronaldo for the early departure of Portugal from the competition. We all know that this player works very hard and is a good shape. He is not the only striker who played four or five games and didn't get any goal. They are saying he had no positive influence because they forgot that he gave Bruno Fernandes a beautiful assist.
A team win and lose as a team and it's bad to attribute a win or loss to a single player. Cristiano Ronaldo proactively waived out chance for Portugal to take penalty shots first to France but if Portugal win, there will be discussions that attribute big contribution to Ronaldo, like he is genius and made a right decision. Portugal in fact lost the match and many people blamed the loss to Ronaldo's decision.

They will always find reasons to argue and blame everything on a single person, player if they don't like that man.

Quote
There might be other younger players who would have done a better job but Ronaldo wasn't in bad shape. The only reason they are blaming him is because they lost the quarterfinal game. If they had won the competition, he would have been highly celebrated.
He is very old now but he still has very good body, even better than many younger players. Soon he will retire and we will have to wait many years to see another player like him.

His appearance on field actually helped Portugal to have more space in two swings and they should take advantage of open space better. Other players failed to do that task, is it responsibility of Ronaldo?

There are many ways to contribute to a team and he actually made contributions. Other things must be done by his team mates but generally, it makes no sense to accuse everything on Ronaldo.

Murphy's statement makes sense. I was also concerned about how Mendes did not replace Ronaldo in the last game against France. Ronaldo did absolutely nothing. Mendes and Jota were at the bench. I though Mindes should give them a chance to play. But, it's absurd because of Mendes was always keeping Ronaldo to play.
Perhaps, Mendes may be doing it to honor Ronaldo. This was because  it's Ronaldo's last Euro with Portugal.

It's also very embarrassing to see how Ronaldo doesn't seem to realize if that damages his legacy more than failing to score or break new records.

Life is all about trying and taking risks. I don't think Ronaldo expected that they would be knocked out at this level. He thought that he would score goals and win the competition thereby breaking records. Sadly it didn't turn out as he expected, so he needs to endure the pain of criticism and disappointment.

It wasn't a surprise to me that the Netherlands later won their quarter final match against Turkiye by scoring two goals in just 5 minutes. However, England will face Netherlands, and Spain against France in semi finals of the Euro.

The finished quarter final match was all like a finals match. Every team had their best performance and tactics to make sure they win their opponent. God of soccer favored some in their wins through penalty shootouts and some had a late goal win by surprise. The semi final game can end up that way because it will be as tough like the quarter final matches just finish playing, having Spain, France, England and the Netherlands qualify for the next round(semi finals)
The mentality of the Dutch players proved to be better in this match so they were able to turn things around, this was a quite dramatic match.
For the quarterfinals we have seen quite impressive drama, there were lots of surprises.

For the semifinal matches England vs Netherlands and France vs Spain it will be quite a fierce match and in my opinion this is a fairly ideal semifinal.
And no one is overly favored in the semifinal match, this will be quite fierce and interesting.

In another match, England again did not play impressively or convincingly but they again won their match and moved to semi final, one more step toward the final match. Switzerland scored first at 75th minute but they failed to secure this advantage, let England equalizing only 5 minutes after that. At penalty spot, Pickford is a hero for England and England are like France, going to semi final stage with no impression so far.

None of yesterday's matches were as competitive. The England vs Switzerland match was not that competitive either. The gameplay of both teams was slow. Actually the match was not that enjoyable. Neither team tried to attack too much in this match. Both teams performed very carefully and kept their defenses strong.

But I would say England were lucky in this match. After Breel Embolo scored in the 75th minute, I thought England would not be able to make a comeback in this match. Because Switzerland's defense was strong. But Saka's goal equalized the match in just 5 minutes. And finally England won through a penalty shootout.

Another poor game for England but the won in the penalty lottery.
So far England is not playing a great football the only thiongs that's matter is the result.

Great game for Switzerland.

Inthe time Nederlands and Turkey are playing and Turkey just scored.
They are now "my" team for the rest of the completion.

We don’t have to be surprised by seeing England's performance again, this is how England has been performing from the beginning of the league and gradually they are moving, England is in the semi-final and I believe that they will still find a way to qualify for the final of the tournament, I think it is time that England coach should know that Foden should not be starting the game for England, I prefer palmer as a wing player than Foden, if that will be the case then he should use Foden as a midfielder and use palmer as a winger and England should play well so that everyone will not be complaining about England performance, England just thanks the goalkeeper by saving one penalty if not England will be at home today crying for their loss.

About Turkey and the Netherlands, the coach is to be blamed for the loss of the team, how can a coach tell the players to play a defensive game after scoring just one goal in the match? It is not good when a team scores one goal and starts playing a defensive game, Netherland used the opportunity of Turkey's defensive game to score two goals yesterday and those goals were scored within 6 minutes, though that is the spirit of the game, one team must loss to a team so turkey should try next time when they are playing in this kind of tournament.

I agree with you that Portugal players neglected Ronaldo in this match. Ronaldo did not get any support from midfielder or forward players in this match. In particular, I would say that if Rafael Leao had assisted Ronaldo properly, or if there had been a good understanding between Leao and Ronaldo, Portugal would have been able to score in this match.

The match was very competitive. Both teams tried to dominate the match. Neither team was able to score as the defenders of both teams played very well. However, the two main attractions of this match, Mbappe and Ronaldo, did not perform as well as we expected.

Cristiano Ronaldo is under a lot of criticism after his team's elimination from the Euro 2024. It seems that he has little to no impact on the team and some are pointing fingers on his captaincy too.

Check out the commentator's Murphy thoughts on Ronaldo's performance. Everyone believes that Ronaldo is being a burden on the team as he is not able to perform as he should.

Quote
He told the BBC: “I’d be having conversations with the manager. It does seem ridiculous at times that he keeps Ronaldo on when he is having no impact.

“He [Goncalo Ramos] kind of must be thinking, what was he brought here for?” Murphy asked.

Though I think that this criticism is a bit unfair, yes it's actually true that the performance of cristiano Ronaldo has massively declined a lot due to his age, but for him to be left on the pitch by Roberto Martinez is actually not his fault, and it shows that his presence alone is a massive threat to any opposition, so taking him off wouldn't have been the best idea either, but to be frank, what I think that makes cristiano Ronaldo less effective is where he was being utilized, he is actually not as effective playing as an attacker, than when he is playing from the left wing.

But sincerely speaking, I have never seen cristiano Ronaldo less of a threat than the way he is right now, especially when he is playing as an attacker, and I honestly think it's time to call his glorious career to an end, because he has given all he had inside of him, so the best thing he should do now is to retire now that his legacy is still intact.

Although Uefa had previously fined players such as Bellingham and Xhaka, it gave Merih a 2-match suspension, without any postponement. Uefa, which announced Bellingham's penalty in 3 days, approved Merih's penalty in 3 hours. That's why there is no more trust anymore. Merih was a defender who could make a great contribution in the Netherlands match played yesterday. We will now say that we are eliminated, that's it. Good luck to the remaining teams. In our opinion, it is a good tournament.
That's unfair and ridiculous decision from UEFA but we can guess what happened in their train of thinking and how they came to that decision which bring big disadvantage to Turkey. Turkey played well but Netherlands are better and they will have a first semi final match in a big tournament after World Cup 2010, 14 years ago.

Of course, Turkey's victory is being envied elsewhere. The German minister applied for an investigation after Merih Demiral's sign. I don't think UEFA will give a penalty, I think it shows the respect of Germany that the German minister, who was silent about a lot of actions before this action, is silent about this action. Turkey's win seems to have upset not only the Austrians.

Although Turkey lost today but i still impress to see their performance and in the last 10 minutes of second half Turkey could force the Netherlands to play more defensively and they even can gets several chances to scores but unfortunately Netherlands defense is very solid which make them cannot utilize those chances to scores and for Netherlands congratulations for them and this result is very special for Netherlands because finally after 20 years they can able to advances to the semifinal again.

Turkiye players tried hard to win this match, and Turkiye players were very hardworking. But luck was not with them. Despite performing well in the entire match against Netherlands, Turkiye failed to win.

The match was not dominated by the Turkiye players, but many attacks were made by the Turkiye players in this match. However, the defense of the Netherlands is very strong. Van Dijk, Ake and De Vrji's defense was not easy to break through for the Turkiye players. Still, Turkiye's players put in a lot of effort. However, the Netherlands took a 2-1 lead after just 6 minutes. In the 70th minute, the Netherlands scored their first goal to equalize the match. And in the 76th minute Mert Muldur's goal gave the Netherlands a 2-1 lead.

Portugal looked better, but as I said earlier, defense plays a very big role in such matches, and both coaches understood this very well, so they focused on defense. There are no complaints about the Portuguese attack, they were good from the very beginning, not all matches allow you to score, this happens sometimes, but there are actually a lot of complaints about the French attack. And the penalty shootout is just a factor of luck, yesterday France was more fortunate and they move on.
I also think so, it was luck that was on France's side in this match so they managed to qualify for the semifinals, but that's football, it's a natural thing.
Even though Portugal's performance was much better, they were unlucky to score a goal and it must also be admitted that the French defense played quite disciplined so that Portugal could not penetrate it.

And in another match, hosts Germany were knocked out quite painfully by Spain because of a goal at the end of the match.
Germany had made a lot of efforts to take this match to the penalty shootout but in the last minute they conceded due to lack of focus and I think the fatigue factor also influenced Spain managed to score the winning goal at the end of the match.

Indeed, the two quarter-final matches that were played were quite fierce, and there was a lot of drama.
I think Spain and France, who have qualified for the semifinals, are quite worthy.

Life is quite tough, isn't it. It was probably Cristiano Ronaldo's last Euro appearance, and his team got defeated in the quarter-finals. BTW, a lot of rumors are circulating regarding his retirement from international football. He is already 39 years old, and a lot of people were angry after he missed a straight-forward chance during the last game. The coach (Roberto Martinez) didn't gave a response when asked about Ronaldo's future in the team. Personally I don't want him to retire. He currently has 212 caps, compared to Messi's 185.

Türkiye lost a game they could have won, because of Montella. In the second half of the match, when the Netherlands increased the pressure, he made no substitutions and just watched the game. He made his first substitutions after the score was 2-1 and it was too late. Montella is responsible for this defeat. He is not a technical director. He had nothing to do with the team getting this far. This team would have been more successful without him.

Yes, it's a shame that Türkiye couldn't control the match after winning in the first half then several mistakes occurred in the second half and conceded 2 goals of course it's very sad but I'm not sure we blame anyone maybe it was an unlucky day who could come at any time. Basically Türkiye has played well in attacks and shoots and they almost won it It's just that luck was on Netherland side by getting an own goal.
Turkiye was hell-bent on winning. They wanted to get a result, but OG was disappointed them. Only a few teams play with such heart and relentless desire like Turkiye in euro 2024. I've been impressed with Turkey in reach quarter final, though they failed in beating dutch. They deserved better, and probably deserved a late break to send it to extra time. This was because of their effort until the last minutes; However, they were not lucky. The Dutch have a lot of work to do as preparation before another serious game. Only a few players from dutch were running to set up, and break through to tie the match. I feel like dutch team lacks a bit of passion, but weghorst was exceptional.

Hats off to turkiye's effort in this game!

This match surprised the Netherlands - Turkey how until Turkey defended until the end, while the Netherlands still struggled to equalize, I think many thought the Netherlands would qualify but this reality is still difficult, now there is still time for the Netherlands to do that.
Netherlands have equalized in the 70th minute and have also added another goal to take the lead now. It is now 2-1 in favour of Netherlands who came from behind to conquer the game. The pressure on Turkey was too much and they couldn’t hold on to that and defend their one goal, it is now turning sides and the possession and full control of the game is now in the Netherlands side. They just have about 12 minutes to the end of the match and Netherlands are still in full control of the game, which of course means they can add more goals before the end of the match to end 3-1. Turkey can try as football is unpredictable but I’m not certain they can win the game now again.
It turned out that Turkey could not hold on until the end because it was indeed more pressure for the Netherlands to Turkey which is more painful is the second goal suicide if this does not happen then Turkey can have time until extra time but this scenario remains different.
In the final minutes Turkey attacked several times with crosses but the ball was successfully defended by the Dutch goalkeeper several times it should have been a big enough goal opportunity but look again the Dutch defense at the end is quite solid difficult to penetrate even though the attack was relentless.

They bottled the chance they had, how can they let such a comeback happen? It's what it is right now and there's little wee can honestly do to help the situation. Y'all should look out for Netherland. They have a coach who has experience of this kind of tournaments as he was amongst the squad that won years ago.
He shouldn't rely so much on Memphis Depay, Wout Weghorst us a much better option for me as he'll be able to attack and at the same time press hard. Turkey did the best they can but they still got fried up like a chicken.

As for England, I haven't seen the shitty games they played since group stage, I want to see what they do with Gareth Southgate. Having such a team but handles them like he has nothing. Seems weird and Awkward for me.

The difference between Turkiye and other medium teams comparing to top tier teams is the ability to play with full power or at least guarantee some stability from the beginning of the match until its end.
Turkiye was leading for most part of the game then they received fast two goals in like 6 minutes. That's bad for them. Netherlands will face England now and France will face Spain. England to play finals? Spain to pass?
