Trabzonspor did not start the game badly. But they could not show a game as they wanted and unfortunately could not find a score. If there weren't any injuries, maybe they'd have a chance.
After Rome scored the second goal, the match was already over, the control of the game passed completely to Rome. If Trabzonspor had scored an early goal, they could have won the match Smiley
Roma is in better condition right now and with a slight advantage, Trabzonspor has few chances to pass it.
Almost all the clubs I know passed, Copenhagen, Rennes, Gent, Lask, Union, Spurs, Partizan. BTW Hammarby did a nice comeback but lost at the end with penalty kicks vs Basel

Even though Roma managed to secure victory in that match, AS Roma looked quite difficult to beat trabzonspor and even though it was very apparent that the trabzonspor game made the roma defense have to work hard and even rui patricio had to make several brilliant saves to keep the goal from conceding
Roma scored first but they struggled to manage that advantage in the late of first half and early of second half. After the second goal, Roma controlled the match and Transponzor almost gave up.

Zaniolo has his first goal in official match for Roma after his serious injury. His toughest time in his career is over and Mourinho considers Zaniolo as one of key players in his squad.

Quote
I think the leg the second one will be a tough match for Roma.
3 goals are enough for Roma to secure their ticket in this pair. With the ability of Mourinho to play strict defense, Roma will win in net result.
Actually based on statistics, Trabzonspor is superior in possession with a percentage of 60% versus 40% and Roma's 3-0 victory over Trabzonspor on aggregate in the second leg 5-1 and in the first leg 2-1, and Roma certainly qualify for the group stage.
and Jose Mourinho was very successful in fielding his best squad when
Roma against Trabzonspor like Tammy Abraham, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Nicolo Zaniolo and Rui Patricio.
I was moved when Italy midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo burst into tears during the celebration because it was his first goal since July 2020.

I watched Roma - Trabzonspor game and occasionally checked Copenhagen - Sivasspor game. Even though Trabzonspor players tried to score early Cornelius injured and had to go off. Roma showed class and experience, they got what they needed to advance. We had bigger expectations for Trabzonspor but they failed. Copenhagen game was a disaster for Sivasspor, after the first game we thought they can show some strength but Copenhagen led the game from start to finish and gave no chance to Sivasspor. After these results Conference League is over for Turkish teams.

Lincoln Red Imps - Riga - away win @2.15. I don't believe that Gibraltar team can reach group stage.

I guess this is the year of surprises, Sheriff made history yesterday by becoming the first team from Moldova to reach the CL group stages.

Flora Tallinn and Lincoln Red Imps both qualified for the group phase of the Conference League today. I'm not 100% sure, but i believe an Estonian team has also never made groups before, so it's a triumphant week for smaller nations, exactly what UEFA has hoped for creating this league.

By the way, Lincoln Red Imps have a significant advantage playing at home. I watched their home game against Cluj last month, and i can tell you they play on the worst artificial turf i've ever seen, not to mention that their stadium has a low profile and is very close to the sea allowing for sudden bursts of wind, in short, the absolute worst place you can play football.

What a big odd and expected win for Partizan at home against Santa Clara 2-0 at halftime and finished 2-0 . Santa clara didnt have 1 chance in the entire match. Also what an achivement by Lincoln red imps from Gibrlatar to reach a group stage of any europe competition

Roma played very well yesterday night in Serie A as they beat a strong team like Fiorentina and this says a lot about them. They will have no problems in the return leg against Trabzonspor, they simply have much better quality players compared to the Turkish side.Beside that they are playing at home in this return leg and chances are extremely high they will pass through during this turn in Europa Conference League.

Mourinho it looks like he is finding himself back again in Serie A like he did with Inter in 2010 when he won everything at that year.
It is still very early to talk about any achievements or results, only the beginning of the season and everything can still change. I don't have as much faith in Mourinho as you do. I see in him a very great disposition and intransigence, which ultimately leads to great conflicts in the team, and as a result, the decline in results. I hope that Mourinho was able to draw conclusions from this and with Roma he will be able to achieve great results. Today for Roma will have enough draw to go further, and Mourinho loves to dry matches very much, if it suits him.

To be fair though Roma were at least expected to draw,,, and Mourinho already knows very well how to lead a team into Europe,,, we remember I am sure how well he did in his first season for Manchester United!

I hope he finds his game yes. Good manager and wonderful when he pushes a "small" team into the upper reaches. Roma was in late stage of Champions League not too long ago however. So he has to bring them back to that stage.

About the games on Thursday, many teams already have a good starting position for the second leg. How seriously will Roma and Tottenham take it?

It is common for teams to devalue smaller European competitions.
But Roma, from Mourinho, will want to show themselves not only in Italy but also in Europe.
Tottenham, I think they will do everything to win after losing in the first leg, against a team of a much lower level. I think they undervalued the first leg a lot, and they were surprised, they will certainly face the game differently. But they are at greater risk.

But Morinho should have smiled for his first game in europa league this season and I don't think that smile was because of Roma win but maybe he smiled seeing Tottenham lose  Grin Grin.

It seems to me that for the top English football teams there is only one important international club competition and that is only the Champions League.
All other international football competitions are not interesting enough for them and they do not try too hard and do not play with the best players, unless the opportunity arises to win a place in the Champions League.  Grin

The fact is that teams receive much more for broadcasting Premier League matches than for participating in the Europa Conference League, and accordingly, the Primier League is the priority tournament for them. But remember last season, when Manchester United fought in the Europa League and reached the final. Arsenal did not perform badly either, but personally for me it was clear that the team was playing half-heartedly, maybe I'm wrong and this is my personal opinion.

The premier league and champions league are more lucrative for the teams and better advertising for the players. With the Italian teams you see it again and again that the Europa League is not taken so seriously, and this will certainly not be better in the Europa Conference League which is still a step below.

Which is crazy given they managed to beat City in the Premier League. Also given that City now made it 5 - 0, you would definitely be surprised how the Spurs managed to suck that hard. Then again the 1 - 0 might not mean too much at this point. I don't know whether Ferreira can defend that lead, also taking into account that fans are allowed again in the stadiums.

It was a completely different team that beat City (and also now that yesterday beat Wolves, their manager's former team),,, as soon as the lineup became clear I guess the home team was super confident and they had every right to be, as I said, even I did not recognize half the names easily.

1-0 3 games in a row now, win or loss, that is how tight Spurs plays.

What a joke for Spurs, they almost finish the game without a shot. I didn't think missing players affect Spurs this much but they were nowhere near Spurs level we used to know. This loss may cost them European competitions. Maybe they only want to stick to Premier League but their best bet would be to get fourth spot there.
Roma hardly won against Trabzonspor. Actually Trabzonspor was better on most of the game but they couldn't score more than one with Cornelius. They missed too many opportunities and conceded two goals from two positions. They could've done better. In Italy it will be too hard for them.

Spurs today showed that they don't really care about Conference League, you saw their squad? So, in the end, they just made 2 shots in total, 0 on target and lost 0:1. Seems that they don't want to play in 3rd tier competition. But I think for them even Conference League trophy would be good, there isn't much persoective for them in EPL or domestic cups.
Maybe this was more of a calculated risk where manager did not want to burden first team with travelling in very delicate part of season when training sessions are at their maximum. We will see if they will play with stronger team on their home pitch. They were awful but result is just 1:0, easy to turn around.

My Rijeka had 1:0 in difficult away game against PAOK but they conceded in last seconds of the match. Nevermind, still a good result to bring home from hostile stadium like the one in Greece  Grin

As for Rijeka, they had a very big chance to win in Greece but they missed it.
It will be very difficult for them to beat PAOK in Rijeka and I think the Greeks are the favorites.
However, Rijeka also has chances and it will be a very interesting match. It is obvious that it is a handicap for PAOK that the Greek championship has not started yet.

Tottenham lost 1-0 to Ferreira today. Although it seems to me that they have no interest in the Conference League. Because I haven't seen any player in Tottenham's previous match against Manchester City. This is Tottenham's second-tier team. Feyenoord, on the other hand, beat Rlfsborg 5-0. An extraordinary win.

two wins for Portugal teams, as last matches in Conference, Tottenham lost from Ferreira, and Santa Clara won over Partizan in latest match
interesting round, Feyenoord proved their form with 5:0, Roma won, Lask did not won their home match, which is surprising

two underdogs matches - Flora won home match over Shamrock and they are close to Group stage, while Riga and Lincoln played 1:1, and Red Imps will have their chance at home to secure Group stage for Gibraltar, first in Conference league, but probably first Group stage overall

Watched the Partizan match.Wasnt satisfied with how Partizan was playing,i think Santa Clara had a little bit of luck in this match. But i still think Partizan can at home secure the group stage for sure in front of their crazy fans.

Those underdog matches i really dont understand, how did they even come to those rounds i think Uefa needs to fix their advantage system for the qualifications. For example Partizan who should be a favorite in all qualification matches got all strong opponents. While Lincoln Red imps from Gibraltar who shouldnt be favorites in any of the rounds are playing against a team who is equal to them and can go into the group stage while other much much stronger teams wont even make it to the group stage because they are playing against their level or higher
