It seems too early to make arsenal and barcelona the favorites to win the european cup this season, i'm not being pessimistic but I think there will be a lot of teams that will indeed focus on the european cup as the ultimate goal even though their performances are currently unstable in the domestic league , juventus and manchester united we can say experiencing a poor performance in the league and maybe losing hope of getting a domestic trophy but that doesn't mean they won't try their best in the European league, right now I even think they will try to focus on the European league trophy as an alternative if they fail to get a place in next season champions league zone.

In soccer performance and luck both are important for the team because if you have good performance and luck is not with you then still you can lose the match as we have too many matches in recent world cup teams with better performance lost against weaker sides with luck was not favouring them in these matches so here we can expect same thing with if Arsenal fail to win Premier League and Europa Cup then surely this all will be their luck even their performance is still good, and they are doing hard work for having better results in this season specially now with the injury of Gabriel Jesus things are looking hard for them even they have few good replacements but still now they need to do hard work for having better results.

Lewandowski become a deadly weapon for barcelona while rashford and bruno fernandes at manchester united have found the perfect chemistry without cristiano for the rest of the season. 50/50 for me at this point.

Lewandowski scored 18 goals in 18 games for Barcelona. It seems like a great figure, but in Bayern the previous 3 seasons he scored more than one goal per game, so in a sense, Lewandowski began to play worse. I don't think it will be a big problem for United to play against Lewandowski personally to solve the problem of his "danger". United now looks like a more variable team and it seems to me that the chances here are not 50/50 but 60/40 in favor of United.

I am pessimistic that Arsenal will be able to win the European League trophy this season because bad news is hitting Arsenal, one of their mainstay players (Gabriel Jesus) is injured and reportedly it is a long injury

As you said, football is unpredictable, even a small team can bring big surprises. there are barca, juve and mu who are currently competing for the european league trophy and i think it is very tough competition

Honestly the Europa league this season is tough and interesting because of the big clubs participating in it. Barcelona is not weak, they have string players but they will definitely have serious challenges , Manchester United won't be soft with them. Manchester United is the problem Barcelona will have.

I think there is an incredible difference compared to last year. Barcelona has a team that has played much more successful matches than last year. This year they are at the top of La Liga for now, but Real Madrid is following them like a shadow. They seem like they will take the lead from them at the slightest snag. In the European league, their rivals are the toughest team. They drew the hardest draw and were unlucky in that regard. If they overcome the Manchester United obstacle, they can easily go to the final.

It's only doing so well in la liga but not in another competition other than it. Barcelona itself has not yet become a winner for la liga in this season and it's potentially to be surpassed by madrid again. Barcelona was not strong. The result from europa like was also still remain unknown at this moment. It can be kicked out from europa league like last season by frankfurt. People were always calling barcelona was strong but i personally think that barcelona didn't even reached the highest level.
I put my choice to the united although barcelona has better statistic against MU
