This was a game in which Milan was seen as the big favorite to win, this is because both are Serie A teams and Milan in Serie A is currently in 2nd position while Roma is in a position outside the 4 places for access to European Champions League, but since Roma hired another coach who replaced Mourinho, they are having good results and in this game Roma showed that they are strong and that next season they could go further. If Roma in the second leg game manage to beat Milan again, then it would be enough for the next opponent to be Atalanta for Roma to have a good chance of winning. unfortunately I saw that Atalanta beat Liverpool

To be honest, I can't understand how the hell Atalanta managed to beat Liverpool and managed to score 3 goals. Atalanta is not a team that is in the top 3 of the Italian league and yet they humiliated a team that is fighting for the premier league title. It honestly seems like the only team worthy of a strong chance in the premier league is Manchester City. I highly doubt that Manchester City would lose to Atalanta, I highly doubt that Manchester City would concede 3 goals if they played against Atalanta. Liverpool need to make certain changes. a team that is fighting for the title being humiliated by Atalanta that is not even fighting for the title in Italy is too shameful

Liverpool have put a lot of gamblers at great loss, because no one expected so see such malfunction in Liverpool team today. I lost some funds but I am OK with it, since I saw the laxity and weakness in Liverpool, which was an advantage for their opponents.

Liverpool defence is weak, and when they concentrate on s c oring, they forget to think about the other side, which is what if Atalanta gets a counter. I couldn't believe that Atalanta took the game very easy and free compare to Liverpool. You will see it in their game pattern and how they scored the three goals, not with shot but the calmness. No club should be underestimated in European competitions.

Big competitions like this come with such surprises, it is normal because it is a competition of teams from different leagues and with different experiences. I know that Liverpool is far better than Atalanta this season, but Atalanta has destroyed Liverpool at Anfield with three away goals in the quarter finals, it is indeed a disappointing performance from the reds and it can be the end to their chance of winning the Europa League since they can’t win Atalanta.

Anfield has always been a stadium that is tough and opponents are always not comfortable while playing there, but Atalanta played there and won two time in row; does it mean that Liverpool is scared of Atalanta? Or it is just a matter of luck since Liverpool is in better performance than Atalanta that is still dragging Europa League spot in the Seria A against next season.

I'm really glad that Liverpool lost woefully and that Atalanta netted us one of our biggest losses in Europe. At least Klopp will have a rethink the next time he tries to make experiments in crucial games like today's. Players like Gakpo, Tsimikas and Elliot don't even start on regular basis yet he choose to start players that usually play from the bench in a crucial tie. The game was lost long before he made those second half sub to try and remedy the situation.

Liverpool replicating that Barcelona feat is near impossible. I expect Atalanta to put off a really strong performance in Italy — anywhere between 0-1 or even 1-2 with Liverpool winning but Atalanta qualifying.

I agree that there isn't such thing as favourites will always win. However were you expecting a score like 3-0 at Anfield? I guess you weren't just as me.  

I remember this scenario from their last Champions League meet. Liverpool destroyed them by 5-0 away and Atalanta beat them by 2-0 away too. Do you believe we would see it again? I wouldn't be surprised if this happens. However the Premier League championship is the priority for Liverpool at the moment. As a result it is difficult to trust Liverpool fully to make a comeback in the Europa League now.

That's one of the many blinds with the English club coaches berating their visitors although I don't think pep gardiola will want to do things this way having knowledge of how strong Atlanta is known for their defensiveness which was what Klopp failed to take into account by resting his best players in a first leg game at your home soil where it's expected you have to throw in all the best you got from beginning to end.

At this junction Klopp should focus solely on the EPL title as his hopes for the Europa has been strangled by his own very unfruitful strategy.

I won't say Liverpool can't come back in the second leg by scoring 3 goals or more, but the chances of that are very low. While Atalanta will be very defensive in the second leg, that is a strategy that Gian Piero Gasperini will consider to secure his ticket to the semi-finals. Liverpool wasn't too bad at building attacks, but this was also influenced by Atalanta's tight and well-organized defense.

Milan lost 0-1 at home. Milan can still come back in the second leg because their chances are still high, while Liverpool so far only have a low chance of coming back. I think Liverpool will focus on the Premier League instead of the Europa League, unless Klopp still wants to fight and not give up.

Liverpool was totally destroyed by Atalanta, they dont know how to react against the game made by Atalanta, also they were not used to suffer a hard marking, every time a Liverpool player receive an Atalanta player was very close to them.

I dont know what to expect for the second game of this two, but i cant see Liverpool coming back from this, but well Liverpool knows how to do it, just remember the Barcelona game for UCL in Anfield.

I think Atalanta is a team that is good at Anfield because this is the second time they defeated Liverpool at Anfield back to back, they have shown some quality despite their performance in the Seria A and they are about to eliminate Liverpool because I am sure they will not misuse any chance in their home while playing second leg and three goals is much for Liverpool to level since they were unable to score even a goal in the match.

Leverkusen win their match as expected against West Ham United. This is another good news for Alonso because he has already secured the Bundesliga title, and he is a favorite in the Europa League this season, and if they were able to get to the finals, they can win it.

I'm not surprised by this result, as I told you that the favorites don't always win. Atalanta may have caused many people to lose their bet slips today, but they did a great job. Liverpool can now focus on the Premier League rather than thinking about the Europa League. They're done here. They cannot turn around in Italy from 3-0. Good luck to Atalanta in the semi-finals. With Scamacca's two goals and Pasalic, Atalanta achieved a victory at Anfield Road that they will never forget for many years to come. Klopp's substitutions didn't yield results, Gasperini won the match without even making a change.

Though it is an unsuspected result but that football for us, surprises always happens so let's see it as soccer, Liverpool fought well it seems that luck was not on their side,  Liverpool that I know can not give up this easily but what can we say, it can happen to any football club, there is much surprises this night, talking about the possible difficulty Liverpool may encounter in the second leg it is true because the away team today will be playing in their home and their will be more confidence on their considering the fact that they have a good scoreline against the visiting team though anything is possible in football but I don't see Liverpool sailing through in this Europa because more effort is needed to actualize this result if it is possible.

Liverpool has actually not been consistent with their matches in the Europa league even more worse than than the domestic league and this match was actually disappointing and shameful seeing they lost 3 goals to nil at Anfield but I still think they may be able to turn things around in second leg next week which will be difficult though I will not write them off totally.

But I think the predictions of Liverpool and Bayern Leverkusen meeting in final might possibly not happen again.

It's amazing seeing Roma getting a surprised win against Ac Milan especially from an early goal, no body will actually expect this only few will win a bet on this game since Ac Milan as been performing much better than Roma in their domestic league. Though I can't ignore the fact that De Rossi, has been doing pretty since after replacing Jose Mourinho and it's good how they keep the pressure from Milan to get an away win today but let's see how the second leg next week goes.

Maybe De Rossi has a chance of taking these team to the final but defeating bayern Leverkusen will actually be the main hurdle

Things like this do not only happen in the Europa league but also generally in football so am not surprised and besides Atlanta is a good team but although it still has to be placed down that Liverpool didn't play to their expectations at all and the whole team was confuse and lost focus and their playing tactics. If Liverpool goes out of this competition then the likelihood of either Bayern Leverkusen or Roma winning the trophy will be at a huge percentage.

Well you are not the only one shocked at this results because it's totally unexpected and this particular match might be the game or ticket spoiler for many gamblers out there. Who have taught that Liverpool will lose so cheaply to Atlanta of Italy that has loss their vigour because I can remember that the Atlantic playing now is nothing compared to the might they poss last two and last season itself. So now all what they can do is to perform a miracle by winning Atlanta at sane results to take the game to extra time.

It's a shame. Liverpool shouldn't have lost with a score like that. I think Liverpool is too confident, so they forget an important thing that the slightest mistake can be a good opportunity for their opponents. Playing at home and dominating the game, but not getting the results according to expectations. I think this loss would be very bad for their morale.

Meanwhile, Atalanta played very impressively tonight. They really lost badly in possession of the ball, but that doesn't make it difficult for them to create opportunities. Even, Atalanta was recorded has better shots on target than Liverpool. Their defense line was quite solid and they did not hesitate to commit fouls to break Liverpool's attacks.

0-3? What match is this? I only saw Gakpo play alone in today's match, the rest of the Liverpool players really played badly and did not reflect that they were the favorite club of the champions in this match.
Their attack is not going well and their defense is really bad especially for their side filled with Joe Gomez really has a lot of gaps.
The first leg at Anfield was like a graveyard because even though they dominated possession, they were faced with a counterattack that they could not anticipate well from Atalanta in today's match.

This is an unexpected score but sometimes things like this always happen in the Europa League where sometimes unexpected scores like this are a surprise.
With this result, Liverpool honestly have a tough job for Leg 2 later although their chance is still there.

I believe you're a UTD fan and from what you have seen tonight you'd believe that Manchester United are not in any way close to being in the same level with Atalanta, that's by the way.

Liverpool played just the way I expected but the second leg is going to be hard for the Atalanta team because Liverpool will come out like a wounded lion to get a draw but I don't think it would be a game of clean sheet like we saw today.
Klopp is planning on securing that number 1spot in the EPL table and the game they lost tonight would be a thing to worry about and if care is not taken they (Liverpool) might lose their next EPL game because they would be having players with tired legs, fatigue might come to play, in this case let's see how they'd manage the situation at hand.

As you said it is unfortunate that europa league is like this, though I like it, it will make all the teams that they are the best to buckle up amd hustle hard for the best result, the scoreline in today games were so surprising ordinarily one will feel that Liverpool will win Atlanta  but the result was a disappointing one for Liverpool, 3:0 defeat after all the ball possession by them is very bad,  Atlanta score their first goal in the 38mimutes of the match, if we are to consider their performance in the match i would have given the winning to Liverpool but Atlanta continued hustling to maintain the lead which they did and the won, there is one thing i noticed about Atlanta, they have very good attacking force, if you you have an encounter with Atlanta for you to scale through as a team with them you must learn their pattern and pu up a strategy to tackle them.

This for me happens to be one of the biggest Europa shock I've experienced this season and i really don't understand how it happened that not only Liverpool lost but they were unable to score a goal even with the home advantage they have got, this is definitely going to affect their chances of getting to the next stage of the Europa because they are going to ply in Atlanta's home next and they may not allow them win.

Atlanta will now be much more confident than they were before now in the fact that they were able to defeat Liverpool in their first meeting and i doubt they will allow Liverpool get the number of goals they got playing against them in their home because they know that will affect their current chance of getting to the next stage of the Europa league this season, Liverpool may have to win with three goals aswell to be able to cancel in for the victory that Atlanta was able to get over them in their first meeting today. The interesting aspect is in the fact they Liverpool didn't even get to perform optimally as they are been known for their season.

Atlanta was really brilliant and their victory was a deserving epic victory that really got to give them a perfect edge that they need this season in the Europa and if Liverpool fails to get pass this stage, this may then be the end of their Europa journey and they may end up trying at the premier league only and this is their only and last chance at the Europa to be able to get a trophy while under klop as their head coach.

Liverpool in the finals with Leverkusen is a big dreams that have been chattered by Atalanta today. This is because I don't see any hope for Liverpool in Italy. As you can see Atalanta have a bigger chance of qualifying to the semifinals than Liverpool because three goals is not small.

The worst of it was that Atalanta won on a clean sheet away. This is such an embarrassing moment for Liverpool and Klopp. Liverpool was so weak that they find it difficult to take shots in Atalanta box. The two clubs that would be the finals is still unpredictable.
