I like the way t is done this season so that those teams who are playing in Champions League will know that there is no hope for them if they did not qualify in the group stage to play in Europa and that will make most of them to be very serious this season because when you are out from the group stage, you go back home hopeless.

The new format will benefit teams with good squad depth. They will be able to rotate players for each match. This looks good for the big teams. But I think on the other hand this new format will not harm the underdogs because usually the top teams have a tighter schedule than the underdogs. I don't know if my opinion is right or not (cmiiw).
