I don't think that Villarreal will do a similar work to Sevilla in the Europa League while doing bad in the La Liga at the same time. First of all Villarreal's group was too easy for them. We haven't seen them playing against one of the strong teams in the tournament yet. As a result I can't give them much credit until seeing them play more challenging matches.

Let's say they faced one of the teams like Liverpool, Leverkusen or Roma and eliminated it as well then I would start respecting Villarreal's chance for the title more. By the way I respect their great effort in the 2020/2021 season which resulted in their winning the title. But they were managed by Emery then and they were doing good everywhere. Now I'm not so sure.  Sad

I think, Sevilla success last season means that at least Sevilla has a good history in the Europa League and as such, it is at least reasonable that last season Sevilla could still succeed in getting the Europa League trophy. But regarding Villarreal, the reality is that Villarreal doesn't have good results in La Liga from season to season and also, in the Europa League the reality is that Villarreal doesn't have as good a history as Sevilla. Therefore, I think there is no good reason to make Villarreal favorites to win the title this season because ya, I think it is clear that only Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen are the best teams this season in the Europa League.

Villarreal is doing shit in LaLiga and good in Europa LEague like the guy above me said, it reminds me about the Sevilla last year, who was a total mess in local tournament but ended up winning the Europa League, in the case of Sevilla they start bad in LaLiga and ended up in good shap, but is an equal case with this of Villarreal, but i dont see Villarreal winning anything.
The European league is different from the domestic league. European League teams faced come from other leagues that play outside their domestic league. Villarreal's bad situation in La Liga this season is that they are still ranked below the top 10, they still have a chance to change for the better in the second half so that finishing in the top 10 is still there even though last season they finished in 5th position.
We still don't know who Villarreal will face in the European League in the next round after winning Group F.

They can continue like Sevilla, for me not necessarily because the European League competition will be different from the La Liga competition. Every team playing in the European League will try to go all out.

Two seasons ago, Frankfurt was a very surprising team in the Europa League. They won the Europa League title even though they performed poorly in the Bundesliga. The same thing happened last season, Sevilla won the Europa League title despite a poor performance in La Liga. Maybe this season will be very different because there are many strong teams in the European League who will compete closely since the round of 16.

Atalanta, Villareal, Leverkusen and Liverpool are some of the favorite teams in the round of 16, but several teams such as Milan, Galatasaray and several others are also worthy of being favorites. There are 8 teams that will qualify for the round of 16 from the playoffs, so we are looking forward to that.

This year's Premier League has a number of teams who are performing brilliantly. The Liverpool team is at the top of the Premier League table. The Leverkusen team is at the top of the table in the Bundesliga. Sporting team is top of Liga Portugal table, Young Boys is top of Swiss Super League table and Galatasaray is top of Super Lig table. Also the performance of the Milan team is quite good. No team can be underestimated here. However, Liverpool, Leverkusen, Milan and Roma seem to be the most qualified for the semi-finals. However, the performance of Galatasray, Sporting and Young Boys teams is also very good. So the Europa League will be very competitive this season.
I have to say agree with you, that is the fact. This season's European League is very competitive because each competitor is one who has good form in their respective domestic leagues. I can exclude some teams from the title race, but maybe not yet because this is only the qualifying round for the last 16.

Roma and Milan are the two Serie A representatives entering this round, they are the two favorite teams who are likely to qualify for the round of 16. Meanwhile, 4 Ligue 1 teams will compete for tickets in each match and they all seem to be in the top 16 this season. There are no teams representing La Liga and the English League in this round, some of them have already qualified for the round of 16 and are waiting for the drawing.

It is very difficult to predict which teams will win the knockout rounds this season. Because every team is in a strong enough position. And they will definitely play to win. Although we consider Liverpool and Leverkusen as top favourites, there is no surprise even if these teams are also defeated. We consider Roma as favorites for the Europa League as Mourinho will try his best to win the Europa League title. But the actual Roma team is not very strong this season. However, it is impossible to make sure predictions about which team will win the title this season. Underdog teams also have the potential to become champions.
As long as the match has not started and there is still a long break, each club still has a chance to qualify, although Liverpool or Leverkusen remain the strongest candidates, but Roma and other clubs still have a chance to appear strong in that round.
We will never know what will happen, even clubs considered weak can provide surprises and I agree with your opinion.
Currently what Roma is experiencing is a lack of reliable players, while this club has a very great coach, but the problem is that Roma finances are unstable so maybe some people doubt that Roma can qualify, but most still believe that Roma can qualify for the next round.
I don't have high hopes for Roma, but I actually want to see this club be able to appear in the UEL and compete with other clubs, even though it will have difficulties when they meet Liverpool or Leverkusen, at least Roma will give a good performance this season because even though they failed in the Champions League and UEL but being able to compete in this competition gives a sense of pride to all the players and provides good experience.

Villarreal almost lost their ticket to qualify for the group stage. but they are trying hard to compete. they passed even though their performance was far from expected. In the La Liga competition this season, Villarreal is also having difficulty appearing more consistently.
but I have confidence that in La Liga at least they can finish at number 7 or 9 in the standings. but in the Europa League, their chances of competing with their current game may not be great. but there is still hope, and they must do their best.

It's a joke if Villarreal become a champion in this season, everyone are guessing either Liverpool or Leverkusen will win, it's make sense since both of them are in good perform.

Personally I want to see Leverkusen to win because Liverpool already won many times and it's not really surprising to see them become a winner.
You are right but for me I don't really mind whoever that's worthy of becoming the champion this season between Liverpool and Bayern Leverkusen because I like the both teams and however there performance this season has been very commendable and can never be compared by any other club on the league but however considering what you said about wanting Bayern Leverkusen to win the league do to the fact that Liverpool has won the league numerous times so perhaps I would agree with you that Bayern Leverkusen should also become the champion this season because it use to be more fun when the trophy is not constantly won by one club but different clubs.

If just about Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen, of course it is still a very reasonable choice and a definite choice. But ya, if suddenly someone says Villarreal is a title candidate then ya, honestly that's just a joke. Instead of including Villarreal as a candidate, why not about Atalanta, because actually Atalanta managed to go undefeated in the group stage. So ya, there really is no good reason about Villarreal because after all, in La Liga the reality is that Villarreal is having a bad trend. What's more, Villarreal doesn't have a good history of winning trophies so ya, it really doesn't make sense about Villarreal to be a candidate for the title.

Sometimes it could be a strategy adopted by a team to winning an elite league title that's why you see them performing poorly in their domestic league and doing better in am elite league just like you did mentioned with Sevilla, they knew they had better chance at the Europa last season than they had in their domestic league so they gave more attention to the Europa.

I wouldn't say it's same with Villarreal because they don't have a chance at their domestic league neither do they seem like they do with the Europa, the Europa currently is as competitive as their domestic league if not even more competitive, moreover the group stage wasn't a difficult one for Villarreal and that doesn't in anyway make the appear like a better team to me, I still believe they may not be able to get past the quarter finals where they will be meeting one of the big names in the Europa this season, either Liverpool, Leverkusen, Ac Milan or Roma, neither of this teams is seen as leaser or lower than Villarreal as they all seem to surpass Villarreal by almost all standards.

Come on man, the real challenge for villareal is just starting right now. Leverkusen came even stronger than last season and we have liverpool as the storngest candidate to win europa league. Don't forget about roma and acmilan. These clubs could be threats for villareal as well. Just because villareal was having same pattern as villareal and it doesn't mean villareal will be winning the competition soon. We have to be fair if any clubs have their own chances to take the trophy.

Who knows if villareal will be also going down the line too far at the europa league soon. the team is not at a stage where we could get much worse but villarela needs always try to be careful caused by it has not faced yet the strongest club than it.
Liverpool and any other big clubs could be preventing villareal to get to the final of europa league soon. Im only saying based on what possibilities that may happen in the future.
Villareal was always performing so badly in la liga.

Group F is full of weak teams, that's why they didn't lose in every match.

Yes they have different performances in the Europa League and in La Liga, in La Liga they are so disappointing, until week 19 they have lost 10 times and can only win 5 wins, and the rest they feel a draw. Last season they finished 5th with a better performance than this season, yes they only felt 12 defeats from all the matches they played there.
In the Europa League they can play better, although I think it's because their opponents don't play better. I'm not sure about them in the Europa League, maybe they will be eliminated early.

We are going to see a different champion this season 100% because of Sevilla's not making it here at least. This is good news to me though while respecting Sevilla's outstanding number of titles in the recent 10 years here. Maybe it is time for Mourinho to do this work with Roma this year. They were so close in the last one but lost the chance to Sevilla.

But there are huge threats such as Leverkusen and Liverpool. With the current strength of their squad and inconsistencies I don't know whether Roma can repeat the same level of achievement at least.

They might need luck on their side a little on draws as of now maybe.  Grin
AS Roma must be able to reach the final again and lift the trophy. Last season they failed because they lost to Sevilla, so now when Sevilla is not there, AS Roma can indeed be more grateful. But the problem is that this season there are much stronger enemies like Liverpool. And I think Liverpool is also aiming to win the European League title this season. And another challenge also emerged from a club from the same league, namely AC Milan, which also joined the playoffs after failing in the UCL. I think Mourinho's task this season has become much more difficult. Because for me AS Roma's toughest challenges in the European League this season are Liverpool and AC Milan.

However, considering that As Roma's recent performance has been inconsistent, I think it will be very difficult to qualify for the Europa League final, considering that other teams such as Liverpool and AC Milan are indeed very strong clubs with an impressive history of achievements.
but Jose Mourinho has a reputation as a successful manager at European level, and expectations for him at AS Roma may be higher. I'm sure Mourinho is capable of fighting tough opponents like Liverpool and AC Milan. Mourinho must be able to optimize the potential of his squad, improve team performance and have an effective strategy against tough opponents.
But don't forget Bayer Leverkusen, this team is in good form so it could be a surprise

Villarreal are playing quite differently in the league and very poorly than the impressive way they play in the Europe League. In the league they’re trying to battle with relegation zone but in the Europa, they’re quite having a good run of matches. Well it's left for the coach to make a tough decision, focus on the Europa league and risk being relegated or work on remaining in the Laliga and prepare well for getting into a major league tournament afterwards.

In the UEL, they’ve lost just once and tried to manage 4 wins and 1 draw and that alone makes them remain in top spot.
With the way they’re going I think they prefer Taking this competition serious than the league. With the way they go, they know the cues of this competition amd can be seen as possible competitors for this trophy, and can want this trophy to enable them head to the UCL next season.

Villarreal might have a fatigue issue if they are playing more than once in a week, they were playing in the league, cup and EL.
If we look closely, they never win in the league after playing in the EL:

EL: Panathinaikos vs Villarreal 1-0
Laliga: Rayo vs Villareal 1-1

EL: Vilarreal vs St Rennais 1-0
Laliga:  Villarreal vs Las Palmas 1-2

EL: Maccabi vs Villarreal 1-2
Laliga: Atletico vs Villarreal 3-1

EL: Villarreal vs Panathinaikos 3-2
Laliga: Sevilla vs Villarreal 1-1

EL: Villarreal vs Maccabi 0-0
Laliga: Villarreal vs Sociedad 0-3

EL: St Rennais vs Villarreal 2-3
Laliga: Madrid vs Villarreal 4-1

I think they need to bring new players in this transfer window as the back up for the main team.

Villarreal performance in this competition was opposite if we compared to their performance in Laliga because at their domestic league Villarreal seems very hard struggle to gets the winning results for each matches and their position on league standings also is not very secured because Villarreal has 3 difference points above from the team in the relegation zone so if they lose once or more then most likely their position will be dropped at relegation zone but in Europa League Villarreal performance indeed quite impressive because they can able to qualified to round of 16

Villarreal only lose once at group stages from Panathinaikos in the first match but this seem became an their last loses because since that match Villarreal was total gets 4 wins and 1 draw which make they can occupy first place and i think Villarreal also cannot be underestimate because previously this team can able to being an the champion on season 2020/2021 at that time Villarreal can able to gets the trophy after beat Manchester United from penalty kick so i think Villarreal has a potention to eliminate the favourite teams

This season's knockout round could be fierce because several teams that did not qualify for the Champions League are already in the European League in this round, so it is quite possible that the match could be quite fierce and tough. In the middle of next month, Roma must be able to beat Feyenoord at de Kuip if Roma wants to easily qualify for the next round after finishing this knockout round. Meanwhile, Liverpool and Leverkusen may both run more differently than AS Roma.
AC Milan is the only team who got knocked out of the champions league who is now in the europa that could pose a threat to other big names who were already in the Europa before their arrival, the fierceness of the knock out stage of the Europa lays amongst a few team and not most of the team and it could be seen amongst Liverpool, AC Milan, Leverkusen and Roma.

This is my personal opinion about the knock out stage of the Europa currently because all other teams were just around average and a few below average Roma may actually get pass the knock out round but then they don't look to me like they will make it to the finals although I know Mourinho is doing a great job with Roma but their case of injury has also been a set back for them but then if all injured players are back definitely they will be able to do much applying consistency alongside.

Liverpool, Milan, Roma, Galatasaray, Braga and Benfica are the teams that come to my mind with a possibility of championship. These teams will try hard to get to the finals. Liverpool will be the first team in the final, barring any unlucky events. If there are no draw problems, the other team could be Milan. This year there is a European league full of strong teams. Of course, we should not forget Bayer Leverkusen. They are also championship candidates.

Leverkusen performed very well in the League. They have never been defeated. I think their extraordinary achievements are an indicator that they will be strong contenders for the title with Liverpool. Sometimes I think Leverkusen is stronger even though I know the results in the league cannot be used as a reference because every domestic championship certainly has a different level. And we all know the Premier League is the most competitive league in the world today.
