This year's Premier League has a number of teams who are performing brilliantly. The Liverpool team is at the top of the Premier League table. The Leverkusen team is at the top of the table in the Bundesliga. Sporting team is top of Liga Portugal table, Young Boys is top of Swiss Super League table and Galatasaray is top of Super Lig table. Also the performance of the Milan team is quite good. No team can be underestimated here. However, Liverpool, Leverkusen, Milan and Roma seem to be the most qualified for the semi-finals. However, the performance of Galatasray, Sporting and Young Boys teams is also very good. So the Europa League will be very competitive this season.
I have to say agree with you, that is the fact. This season's European League is very competitive because each competitor is one who has good form in their respective domestic leagues. I can exclude some teams from the title race, but maybe not yet because this is only the qualifying round for the last 16.

Roma and Milan are the two Serie A representatives entering this round, they are the two favorite teams who are likely to qualify for the round of 16. Meanwhile, 4 Ligue 1 teams will compete for tickets in each match and they all seem to be in the top 16 this season. There are no teams representing La Liga and the English League in this round, some of them have already qualified for the round of 16 and are waiting for the drawing.

It is very difficult to predict which teams will win the knockout rounds this season. Because every team is in a strong enough position. And they will definitely play to win. Although we consider Liverpool and Leverkusen as top favourites, there is no surprise even if these teams are also defeated. We consider Roma as favorites for the Europa League as Mourinho will try his best to win the Europa League title. But the actual Roma team is not very strong this season. However, it is impossible to make sure predictions about which team will win the title this season. Underdog teams also have the potential to become champions.

@laurenB7742 you’re absolutely right but I feel that Liverpool won’t prioritise Europa League now because they’re close to becoming the top contender to win the premier league and thus I feel that Klopp will sacrifice Europa League and fully focus only on winning the premier league title. Lastly I feel that Mourinho will try and strengthen the squad in the current transfer window hence that could boost their chances of winning the Europa League so keep an eye for their updated squad.

Villarreal performance in this competition was opposite if we compared to their performance in Laliga because at their domestic league Villarreal seems very hard struggle to gets the winning results for each matches and their position on league standings also is not very secured because Villarreal has 3 difference points above from the team in the relegation zone so if they lose once or more then most likely their position will be dropped at relegation zone but in Europa League Villarreal performance indeed quite impressive because they can able to qualified to round of 16

Villarreal only lose once at group stages from Panathinaikos in the first match but this seem became an their last loses because since that match Villarreal was total gets 4 wins and 1 draw which make they can occupy first place and i think Villarreal also cannot be underestimate because previously this team can able to being an the champion on season 2020/2021 at that time Villarreal can able to gets the trophy after beat Manchester United from penalty kick so i think Villarreal has a potention to eliminate the favourite teams

I think Roma management assessing Mourinho's performance with current squad, if he demands more players, Roma will not extend his contract even if they achieve something. Roma is not able to get big signings due to their financial capacity, and they want Mourinho to understand that. It allows the club to evaluate the impact of Mourinho's strategies and coaching style on the team's performance over the course of the season.

The financial constraints and the difficulty in fulfilling all of Mourinho's transfer wishes emphasize the practical challenges clubs often face in the transfer market. It's also a recognition that building team cohesion and integrating new players mid-season can be challenging. Winning the Europa League is surely a priority for Mourinho this season. Success in European competitions could be a significant achievement for Roma, and Mourinho's experience in navigating these stages is certainly an asset.
José Mourinho already done good job in last few years with now most chances he will not be going to extend his contract as few luxury offers are waiting for him in coming weeks specially from Saudi Arab and then few are feeling Newcastle United could be also good place for this legendary coach even nothing is clear where he is going to stay, but Roma with their current financial situation are not capable of having better spot.

In last few matches they are facing serious trouble which is bringing them down and if they are not going to bring improvement then surely things can go more troubling because their chances for the top flight in Italian league are also not bright and now here in UEFA Europa League they are also having challenges which are beyond their limits.

For now, I don't classified AS Roma as an elite club because they have been failing to reach the require points to enter the UEFA Champions League competition. AS Roma was doing terribly poor in performance but since thr appointment of José Mourinho as headcoach, they have changed all round. Mourinho is an experience coach and he knows the basic steps to take inother to equipped his players, never backing down but striving harder than any other person in the team, he needs to build good reputations. José Mourinho can not leave AS Roma currently because he's a piece of master planner for the club and have done alot.

Jose Mourinho might still keep his job. I mean he bought Roma a trophy in the season he took the job. He is doing alright. It is just that this season his players have been injured. Some of his key players such as Lukakau and Dybala have been injured. And due to the injury, it is looking like that they are not doing well. But I think they still can qualify for the Europa League. They are also doing very well in the Uefa Europa League. They have a fair chance of winning it as well.

But Mourinho might need to sign a few players this season to achieve it as well because injuries are definitely holding them back.
But the question is whether the Roma board is satisfied with the current results!!

We are going to see a different champion this season 100% because of Sevilla's not making it here at least. This is good news to me though while respecting Sevilla's outstanding number of titles in the recent 10 years here. Maybe it is time for Mourinho to do this work with Roma this year. They were so close in the last one but lost the chance to Sevilla.
But there are huge threats such as Leverkusen and Liverpool. With the current strength of their squad and inconsistencies I don't know whether Roma can repeat the same level of achievement at least.

They might need luck on their side a little on draws as of now maybe.  Grin
Liverpool, Milan, Roma, Galatasaray, Braga and Benfica are the teams that come to my mind with a possibility of championship. These teams will try hard to get to the finals. Liverpool will be the first team in the final, barring any unlucky events. If there are no draw problems, the other team could be Milan. This year there is a European league full of strong teams. Of course, we should not forget Bayer Leverkusen. They are also championship candidates.

Yes, I also think that this season definitely there is going to be a new leader of the Europa League. Liverpool and Leverkusen are the top contenders so far doing the Europa League right now. But of course, the competition is still a long way away to be decided. So nothing is certain so far. But personally, I am very hopeful about Leverkusen because they have been playing incredibly. Even in the Bundesliga, they have been leading by four points compared to Bayern Munich who always dominate the competition.

So I think it is a wise idea to put your hope on buyer Leverkusen for the Europa League title. I won't be surprised if they end up winning both the Europa League title and also the Bundesliga title, to be honest.

FA cup is not something you win every single time, that's not how FA cup works, I mean sure there are teams that win it a few times in a row, it has happened, but you should not "expect" it, plus Arsenal is not the biggest team in the premier league right now, I would say City and Liverpool are better, and I would position them third place after those two, and I bet that they will get to the third place eventually as well.

Losing FA cup, and to Liverpool, it seems fine. Liverpool is playing like the best team there, and that is scary for all the teams in europa right now, it means that if they are good enough to be better and above everyone else, then there is a possibility that we are going to end up seeing them win this cup too.

Last season's defending champions are nowhere to be found, yes that would be Sevilla who had to return home early from the Champions League without being able to participate in the Europa League. They are very famous in the European League, because they are recorded as champions here very often. Last season they also proved that they are a club that can compete in the European League and beat AS Roma in the final. But unfortunately they are now not here to spread threats to other clubs.
This season Sevilla are very worrying, they are not like the Sevilla I saw before. They are struggling to perform well in the matches they play. In La Liga they are now 16th, which doesn't speak well for a club that has won Europa League titles before.
Sevilla's performance this season is distant from their Europa League winning form last season. It's like they lost their mystical touch. I keep thinking about how they won the trophy. They had several good wins, but luck also helped. Remember their wins over Manchester United and Juventus? Injury woes for United favored Sevilla.

However, this season seems to have stalled. A squad of their level shouldn't be 16th in La Liga. Some say they change coaches faster than I change socks. Mendilibar, Alonso, and Flores have led them. Adjusting to new strategies and styles must be difficult for the team. We hope Flores can fix things. It will require hard effort to climb back up the league standings, but he has experience.
Sevilla which was darling of the Europa League currently having the worst time with their finances and things are going down day by day which are not good for them because in last seven games they are having just 2 wins one in Copa del Ray and other in La Liga which bring them to 16th spot and if they are not going to improve then most chances we will have them in La Liga 2 in coming days because their situation need good and solid strategy but nothing positive happening in last few months.

Too many changes in coaches have surely never been ideal with they need to stay for the better and improvement with new players are also needed, but currently they have no chance due to worst finances and this squad is having also lack of confidence which is big below hopefully they will be full settled otherwise future is surely not good and this could be break them badly.

There is no doubt about this with Sevilla won last 5 titles in ten years which is massive success for them with 2 more Spanish sides also won and just three winners from the other countries, but now this time things are clearly favouring for new winner with most chances we will have winner from the England or Germany, but this could be good change at the top Roma is also contender, but their problem is lack of quality players which is hurting few other Italian clubs as well because they are not having enough funds.

Currently, Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan are favourite with Roma can also steal the show, but their inconsistency is the biggest threat, and they are also facing finances issues with this most chances we will have new coach in coming season as well because things are going out of the favour for the José Mourinho which is doing good job in last few years.

Sevilla have been very bad in this half of the season. Of the 19 matches they lost 9 times, and only won 3 times, the rest ended in a draw.
I don't think Ramos' presence had a big impact, but the opposite happened. Even though the composition of their players is quite good.
Honestly, I think Sevilla are the kings of the European league, because they are the defending champions who always have a chance to win.
But I hope their performance improves because the second half of the season has just started.

It is likely that Roma management wants to see Mourinho performance this season, what the man from Portugal can offer before the club offers him a new contract extension. On the other hand, it could be that Mourinho no longer wants to continue his adventure at Roma next season, and winning the Europa League trophy this season is his main priority.

Financially, Roma could not fulfill all of Mourinho wishes in the transfer window, fortunately they were able to bring in Lukaku from Chelsea even on loan. I think the Mourinho factor, who has worked with him, made Lukaku willing to move to Roma, indeed Inter could not afford the asking price that Chelsea wanted to recruit Lukaku.

I don't think there will be any big name new recruits brought in by Roma management this January, but here Roma could show a different performance than in Serie A. It is hoped that The Special One experience on the European stage can help Roma win the title this season, however Let's see how they face Feyenoord in the play offs first.

It is a really important season for Mourinho for sure as he is in his last year of his contract with Roma. If there is no proper improvement then he will probably get sacked.

Therefore the Europa League is also extra important for Mourinho. Roma reached the finale in the previous season but got eliminated dramatically against Sevilla. Mourinho was really angry with the referee Anthony Taylor as well as you can remember. Mourinho must be seeing it as an incomplete job now so he would be ambitious for the title here. But to be able to reach the finale again they need to play much more extra than now.  Sad

More precisely, if Mourinho fails this season, it seems that Mourinho will not get a contract extension, but not about fired. Because after all, if AS Roma fires Mourinho then at least AS Roma can do it before his contract ends. So yes, because Mourinho is still under contract until the end of this season, it looks like AS Roma will give Mourinho time to serve as head coach of AS Roma until his contract ends, and maybe that is also a form of respecting their contract.

After all, at least Mourinho also succeeded in bringing AS Roma to win trophies during his coaching period. Even though AS Roma only got the Conference League trophy, at least the trophy was a good result compared to nothing at all.
...

Actually, I think anybody would like Mourinho in their team. If you ask me, I will say AS Roma is doing good. Mourinho did bring them the Uefa Conference League trophy and looks like they will probably finish in the top 6 in this series right now. I think the only reason they are underperforming right now is due to injury. You know, 2 of his most important players, Lukaku and Dyabla were injured recently and thus they were losing some games. But I believe they will come back.
Lucky for them they matched with Feyenoord. They could face stronger teams. Mourinho's Roma is one of the important teams in the European Cup. The first match against Feyenoord will be played in the Netherlands. They are doing well in the Eredivisie. If they can win the match, the match to be played in Italy will be very critical.

This would actually shift too much of the burden into the hands of Xabi Alonso. I think if a lot of players are absent because they have to play or want to play for their national teams, every coach has limited options and solutions to problems. When people say that it all depends on Xabi Alonso now, what can he even do when so many of his most important players are gone for an extended period of time? What would other coaches do when several of their most important players are gone?

Some of the clubs have high quality players sitting on the bench, but compensating for several absent top players is difficult. No matter how good you are as a coach, but there are limits when compensation of missing players is necessary.
If several players want to play for their national team, it will have quite a bad impact on Leverkusen because they need their core players to remain in their best form. Like Boniface, of course he is an important part of Leverkusen progress this season and he will defend his country in the African Cup which could be Xabi Alonso task to find the right replacement for the position left by Boniface. Sometimes situations like this can have a bad impact on their performance because new players certainly need to adapt to their game so it will be quite difficult for Xabi Alonso for the second half of this season.

It looks like there are 4 players who are defending their national team and Xabi Alonso must be able to cover the 4 positions left by his players because he is defending their national team. If Xabi Alonso doesn't find the right player, it could be that their performance will decline drastically this season and will also have a big impact on their target of becoming champions this season. We know he is a great coach, of course he can rotate the squad to maintain balance when they are not reinforced by a number of their main players.

I am asking myself whether players have a choice at all when they are nominated to play for their national teams? Can they say know? I don't remember what I read about it, but I think I once saw an article where it was stated that if players refuse to play for national team and ignore the nomination, this can have consequences for them as well. It is not about players who want to retire from the national team when they are older, but when they are in their prime there was something about it when they refuse to play.

But whatever the case is here for players who do play for their national teams, the 4 players you mentioned are all key to the Leverkusen game and I think it is one more player who was a very important substitution player, which is of course needed a lot when you are going full steam in all competitions. We will soon see what the impact on Leverkusen is because of the games with the national teams.

I was expecting Sevilla to qualify to the Europa League if they couldn't make it to the round of sixteen, but unfortunately, they performed very poorly this season, which has eliminated them from the European competition this season for the first time in a long time. They were known as the most favorite team in the Europa League a few years ago because they have won the Europa League more than any other team in the last five to ten years. Now they are not also doing well in the La Liga competition because they are now in the sixteenth position in the La Liga title, just one point ahead of relegation zone team Cadiz; they need to improve and sign more players this January in order to escape the relegation and also to qualify for the next season's Europa League.

This season Sevilla are very worrying, they are not like the Sevilla I saw before. They are struggling to perform well in the matches they play. In La Liga they are now 16th, which doesn't speak well for a club that has won Europa League titles before.

Sevilla has really performed poorly this season. They are very different from last season where last season they were able to appear quite competitive in the League. I was surprised that they didn't make it to the European league because we know that Sevilla is very famous in the European league. But it seems like this season they can't do much because I think they have a little problem in their squad. I remember there is a saying that an average team will usually find it difficult to appear competitive in every season. I think there is some truth to this theory with Sevilla's performance this season compared to last season.

Last season and this season about Sevilla are the same, because Sevilla experienced the poor results it got in La Liga. But fortunately Sevilla in the last season still succeeded in the Europa League, so the failure in La Liga was not too widely reported . So ya, basically Sevilla has experienced a decline in performance to be very bad it has happened in the last season, and in this season it has become worse because Sevilla also failed in the Champion League and also failed to return to playing in the Europa League.

Therefore, then of course Sevilla will only focus on improving its position in La Liga in the second half of this season. After all, if for example this moment Sevilla returns to play in the Europa League this season, but the reality remains not easy for Sevilla. Because ya, after all, this season the Europa League has a team that has very good quality as a title candidate, they are Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen.
