The full Europa League draw is like this by the way. I wanted to share it because of not seeing it on the previous posts.

The most interesting one is Milan - Roma truthfully. Because it is more like a clash between close teams in strength. If Roma were still being managed by Mourinho now then I would have seen Milan more favourite.

However since De Rossi took the job the team have seemed much more effective in attacking especially. The score contribution has increased quite more. Although bookies are favouring Milan I think Roma deserve to be given a chance on betting. What do you think?  Smiley

As for the chances of winning the Europa League, Liverpool are still the strongest while for Leverkusen it depends on how they continue their trend whether it is only limited to this or even better in the Europa League.
There's enough time for elite team to compete between themselves for winning. There's absolutely no limitations for elite team, they're keen on bringing on important records as accomplishments. The Europa League doesn't seem tough and the best competitive club comes home with significant title which is presentable for the status of the team. Liverpool are non-stop this season. They're out not in the UEFA Champions League competition and the tournament that qualify for, they just have to put in their best and bring to Anfield the golden title.
If you say that the Europa League is for elite club to be able to taste the real champion it is also unjustified because seeing from the last few seasons there are always surprises that occur in it even that includes for Barcleona because even in the 2 seasons they are in the Europa League, they can't even get to the final which means the Europa League is not as easy as imagined but for the case now for Liverpool indeed their chances remain the biggest its just that it also cant be a belief that can really be used as a benchmark because they also have to work hard to get the trophy even though their level is much bigger than other clubs in the Europa League at this time .

There are always surprises that we never even expected before for the Europa League and now we still haven't seen it so this is still a very good sign for Liverpool but if there are surprises that occur in the remaining matches because now there are still three phases where the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals then indeed we also cannot be surprised by that because the Europa League is unpredictable and cannot be predicted properly .

The draws have been made and Bayer Leverkusen have been paired against West Ham. Granted, the Hammers may not be enough threat to them but with how they performed in their return leg against Freiburg, they could still make trouble for Xabi Alonso's men but since it's in Germany, maybe they can wreak havoc  on David Moyes' boys.
Bayer had so much struggle against underdogs from Qarabag that somehow it's hard to expect that it will be easier for them against West Ham. Though, now their lead in Bundesliga is such big that they can afford to drop points in few games and give priority to Europa league.
Liverpool is big favorite against Atlanta, other two pairs is more difficult to predict, but I would say that Benfica and Milan will go the the semifinal.

It is quite strong indicator that Leverkusen is doing fine, because they haven't lost a single game yet, and yet we almost saw them get out. Which proves that it doesn't matter how good you are, people assumed that Leverkusen may win the whole thing, people definitely assumed that they would dominate Qarabag, I mean they beat Bayern in a humiliating fashion, so obviously everyone assumed they would win this too.

And yet, on the first game they lost, and on the second game they won with 2 goals coming at 90+ minute mark. That should be proof enough that we are talking about a team that may struggle at times, maybe it hasn't so far but that doesn't mean that it will never have that, it may always have something like that.

Bayern Leverkusen continues their unbeaten streak, showcasing an exceptional performance this season. Despite facing considerable pressure from Qarabag, they managed to overcome a 2-nil deficit. While Qarabag fought hard and showed resilience, Bayern Leverkusen's winning mentality prevailed once again. This match may have been their toughest challenge yet this season, but it's a testament to their strong leadership and management. Xabi Alonso's presence has been instrumental, and if he remains with Bayern Leverkusen, they have the potential to win more trophies in the coming days.
They will need to put in more effort so that more teams will come to fear them. Xabi Alonso should train his men up to that standard where they don't get to only be deadly in their domestic league but outside too. The game against Qarabag was intense and to be honest, they almost lost focus so they can't afford to play the way they did with Qarabag in the quarter finals, depending on late minute goals to help them because their opponents will want to make things terrible for them.

Leverkusen were not very good in their last two games in the competition, it almost seemed like luck.
If Leverkusen can win the Europa just as they are going to win the Bundesliga ahead of Bayern Munich this time, it will be a very big achievement for the coach, and will increase his value to any team that may want to sign him. For a player like Granit Xhaka who just moved to Leverkusen from Arsenal, that will also be a good win for him.

What is this? Will Leverkusen give up in the round of 16 this time.
They played against 10 men but it was they who struggled to make a victory to take them to the next round in the Europa League this time even they had to fall behind 2 goals first.

It would be regrettable if this result is maintained until the end of the match because apart from them failing to qualify for the next phase, Xabi record for matches without defeat must also end at the hands of Qarabag which we never expected because after all this should be able to win well.
The match entered crucial time but Leverkusen were still troubled by Qarabag's solid defense but there was still time for them to make a good comeback but Xabi had to try everything in the remaining time this time.

The Leverkusen team continues to set records by winning games time and time again. If someone told me yesterday that Leverkusen would win, I wouldn't believe it because the game was almost over even though Leverkusen ended up scoring the winning goal. However, to be honest, Leverkusen didn't play well because Qarabag received a red card, which makes it difficult for Leverkusen to win. If Qarabag did not receive a red card, the match would either end in a penalty shootout or Leverkusen would lose.

Leverkusen is happy that they won, but I'm still not sure if they can win the Europa League because of how they performed in this competition compared to how they did in the Bundesliga. In addition, there are a lot of teams that are stronger than them, like Atlanta, West Ham, and Liverpool. I won't include Roma because they aren't a formidable opponent for Leverkusen; even if they manage to overcome the other teams, they can't defeat Liverpool.
The surprise came in extra time which I did not expect even though I had given up on the bet I had because I thought that it was impossible to win but indeed in today's match it was inversely proportional because precisely the extra time returned my previously lost bet Cheesy
Leverkusen got another win and their record was not broken in yesterday's match but there is still a lot for Xabi to improve now because looking at yesterday's conditions we must be aware that Xabi's scheme is still weak and their strategy has been read to be monotonous but Xabi is difficult to replace the scheme that has happened with a new, better scheme and it must be considered again so that they are able to create several worst possibilities in terms of strategy so that when one scheme does not work well then they still have another scheme to try.

As for the chances of winning the Europa League, Liverpool are still the strongest while for Leverkusen it depends on how they continue their trend whether it is only limited to this or even better in the Europa League.

Leverkusen almost failed last night right ? and by all means , Qarabag did played an amazing football in both games and if they weren't unlucky enough to meet Leverkusen , I think they would have qualify further but Leverkusen on current form , looks kinda unstoppable.

Brighton was so close to eliminated As.Roma it's never enough to score 1 goal against Roma but on the same time it's way harder to score twice on them.. so overall , Roma kinda deserved to qualify.

Liverpool - Sparta is clearly a strong sign that Liverpool doesn't belong here and if they win Europa League it will be with minimum effort as I'm sure Liverpool are chasing EPL more than Europa League.  Cool

Today's match almost ended with Leverkusen losing and breaking their unbeaten streak but extra time made the difference as we were surprised with 2 goals that I think were very late goals.
Qarabag surprised us in the 16th this season because the defense they showed in the match in the 2 legs was really extraordinary and very worthy of praise but otherwise this is a good lesson for Leverkusen because if there is no miracle in extra time and no Cafarguliyev red card in today's match then I believe Leverkusen has lost momentum and cannot continue competing in the Europa League.

Schick's brace for Leverkusen saved face and secured Xabi's unbeaten record which is still intact.
This should be a lesson for Xabi that the longer their schemes are read and their performance can be lost in unexpected conditions.

A bit hard to swallow for Qarabag fans I believe, especially with the red card they got. Not to say Leverkusen doesn't deserve the win, but it would be a different story if it were 11 vs 11 till the end of the second half. But who knows, maybe they will still go into the extra time and Leverkusen win it too. Anyway, my point is that it is not solely on their winning mentality or whatnot, circumstances surrounding the game also matter a lot.
One of the random teams in this season is Atalanta, lately. Quite good overall, playing badly in a game and turning a different side in another, Sporting was the favorite and somehow this is the result.
They are consistent in the Europa League based on their stats at least[1]. They managed to overperform their xG too, which shows that their finishing is quite good. They also played in the Champions League a few seasons ago. They are a solid team and good enough to go through the last 16.

Bayer Leverkusen showed impeccable display of dominance I'm the game if you ask me. Granted, it seemed like they were struggling in the game and much pressure was added on them after Qarabag netted those two goals but at the end of the day it's the team that qualified that matters and that was what they did. It was more like Qarabag calling the shots, holding possession but getting knocked out at the end.
I also commend Xabi Alonso's confidence in his men as we could see how he was cheering them up, knowing they could come back up from the two goals down and when Patrik Schick scored the equalizer in the 90+3, we could see him asking for one more goal, having complete trust they could pull it off and voilã! Patrik Schick did it again in the 90+8 minutes to see them clinch a spot in the quarter finals.

it should not come as surprise that Liverpool is big favorite to win this, while Leverkusen and Milan are waiting for their mistake, can we see some surprise here eventually
The problem in Leverkusen is they never lose, so this could make them have very high self confidence, fortunately the match against Qarabag is able to open their eyes if they're almost lose against Qarabag. Hopefully Leverkusen can learn from this match.

Didn't think West Ham would have such an easy time, either... what on earth has happened to my beloved Freiburg?
West Ham pranked you. Cheesy

Freiburg's players passes too much and not able to score a goal, when they're make a blunder, West Ham is easily make a counter attack.

Leverkusen won the game with two goals in minutes 93 and 97, what a strong finish. If you look at the statistics of the game, the result is correct, but it was close. So Leverkusen are still in all 3 competitions: german league & cup and also europa league, they have a chance to win all 3 titles. The most important player in the first and second game was Patrik Schick. He scored 2 sensational goals in the last few minutes yesterday and the 2:2 in the first game, there were no more important goals. Because of him Leverkusen go into the next round. I think there are currently 3 favorites for the title: Liverpool, Leverkusen and AC Milan.

Sporting Lisbon is now playing against Atalanta... Before the game, bookmakers gave Sporting odds of 2.0... But after the first half the score is 1:1 and Atalanta plays better than Sporting... I hope that the second half will be no less interesting...

kudos to Leverkusen, they are not playing 90 minutes, they play till last moment
pouring goals in extra time, while Qarabag playing solid during the match

expected a lot better from Sparta, 11 goals in 2 matches against Liverpool halved with injuries is really slow
it should not come as surprise that Liverpool is big favorite to win this, while Leverkusen and Milan are waiting for their mistake, can we see some surprise here eventually

And still unbeaten in the end, but amazing how Qarabag twice made them really pour blood into the effort!!

Now Leverkusen also have 2 more games to play to win the German cup, and they may face a bottom team 2 leagues below them who has already knocked out Bayern Munchen and Monchengladbach. If they make it Invincible they will be beyond the achievements of Arsenal. 10+ games to go!

Yeah I watched this match and still waiting for the first goal Bayer Leverkusen dominates the match from all sides but hasn't scored yet while the two teams are still in the same aggregate 2-2 at first I thought this would be an easy win for Leverkusen because they were playing at home but it seems I was wrong as you said Qarabag plays defensively, Leverkusen still have 30 minutes to change the score and we are still waiting for it.
Qarabag had a chance to score and they took it, got the first goal but unfortunately for them they lost one player in the process reducing their number to 10 on the field. They didn't stop there though as they were also able to score a second goal even with the 10 men they had to increase the fear that the supporters of the home team have of having their first loss of the season in an important game like this. There is still some time in the game, Bayer Leverkusen have been able to score one, they can score a late goal like they did in the first leg to send this game to extra time.

Yeah I was surprised to see the results of this match, unexpectedly Qarabag was able to score the first goal and the second goal even though playing with 10 players and when I wrote this post Leverkusen had scored 2 goals meaning aggregate 4-4 it is clear that Leverkusen's chances of winning are increasingly open whether through extra time or penalty rounds.
Leverkusen used the advantage they had after scoring the second goal, they saw that it was possible for them to even score a 3rd goal to win the game if they pushed for it. They tried to score the 3rd goal and they did because if the game had gone into extra time it would have given Qarabag a time to re-strategize, rest a bit and then he would have also taken away the momentum that Bayer Leverkusen had been able to build from scoring two goals from two goals down. Good coach and serious players made the Leverkusen win possible.
