It was a disappointing score at the end truthfully after seeing the way Liverpool started the match. Sad

An early goal to get ahead by nothing more than that later on... Klopp was smiling in the last moments of the match because of a frustration probably. He was really desperate after not being able to score any more goals in the same half.

His substitutions as of the 66th minute also showed that he gave up and he just wanted to save some of his important players' energies for the Premier League match ahead.

Some people will criticize him for that some won't because of the PL's being more important.

Bayern Leverkusen have continued to maintain their unbeaten record this season. Westham almost ended it with their first half lead but as usual Bayern Leverkusen equalized in the second half in their regular late goals. They almost lost their home match against Hoffenheim if not of their late goal scoring prowess that made them score at the 88th and 90th +1 minutes that gave them the 2:1 vicory.

It was at 6 minutes Liverpool scored their first goal and after that i was expecting more goals from them since all the first team started the match today. Klopp had the intention to score so many goals today but however they were unlucky to score. I was surprised as well when Atalanta were pressing hard to score when i was hoping to see the Atalanta team focusing on defending through out.

Liverpool should be disappointed. This is because they have bottled the EPL to Manchester City, lost the FA cup to Manchester United and now went out of the Europa league in the quarter finals by losing to Atalanta. I dont think this is the plan Klopp had for the team this season. He would be so disappointed in himself and his team.

Before the game comeback didn't looked impossible. After early they scored, it really looked that they can make. But rest of time didn't looked so good and whole 2nd half, it more looked like Atalanta need to score. Salah wasting great moments, even if it's offside, you still have to score.
Already wanted to say that got burned quite painfully with my bets as I expected much more goals, but late goals of Milan and Bayer improved my situation a bit.. Though, it was already too late for Milan to make a comeback.
Now switching to extra time between Marseille and Benfica.

There might still be hope for Liverpool. Because they finished the first half 1-0 ahead. In fact I thought they would score at least their 2nd goal also because Salah's goal came very early. But still anything can happen in the 2nd half.

It looks like Klopp didn't want to rotate the usual lineup. Only Nunez is on the bench now but maybe it could be because of his being out of form. Klopp doesn't want to say goodbye to the Europa League early and I started to feel that they will come back against Atalanta in the 2nd half.

Apart from that West Ham finished the first half 1-0 ahead against Leverkusen. However I still don't think they can be the one to advance to next round. The only thing I wonder is whether Leverkusen's unbeaten series will come to an end here...

Liverpool vs Atlanta will face in the leg-2 of the quarter-finals in the European League. Liverpool are in the championship race in the Premier League and this must have also had some side affects for them in the Europa League. Because Klopp had to rotate the squad a little for the Atalanta match. However I believe they still played really well. I mean they created a lot of goal chances but weren't having their best day though. Sad

3-0 is a score that is really difficult to come back from. More importantly, Liverpool have a PL match only 3 days after the second leg against Atalanta.

If the players' minds get busy with thinking of that match then it would be near impossible to eliminate Atalanta.

It was 4 years ago, the 2020/21 season. It was group stage and Liverpool obliterated Atalanta by 5-0 away... Why wouldn't it happen again?

If he decides to rotate by thinking of the Fulham game on April 21st then they would prove me wrong really hard. But I think the maximum rotation would be the same as the first leg.

After watching the Liverpool vs Crystal Palace, it seems there is no hope for Liverpool to beat Atalanta in the 2nd leg later.
Liverpool finishing was really bad, while Atalanta defense must be better than Crystal palace and they will play at home.
I dont see any worthy opponent for Leverkusen anymore, they definitely will become the winner of Europa League.

After the result of the first leg of the UEFA Europa League quarter final game between Liverpool and Atalanta, many people are of the opinion that Atalanta will definitely progress to the semi finals of the competition even when bookmakers had backed their English opponents to win the tie before the first leg. I respect your opinion about the whole issue but I don't think Liverpool will be able to make that come back on Thursday and I said that because Liverpool is not at their best at the moment as they've failed to win any of their last three games in all competitions. After just the first games, suddenly Leverkusen got the top spot in everyone's minds. Think about it, we are talking about Liverpool who lost 3-0 against Atalanta, why would we consider them as the favourites anymore. Doesn't mean that Liverpool can't win, they still could get like a 4-0 revenge game, which they did to Barcelona if I remember correctly, so it is not impossible but just because something is possible doesn't mean it is the likely possibility.

I feel like Leverkusen beating West Ham this easily shows once again that they are going to end up being at the top of the odds. They are having a magical year and I am guessing that the yare going to crown this amazing season with an europa title that could shine very bright on their trophy cabinet.

Its true that Liverpool performed badly against Atalanta yesterday, but because they lost in that match doesnt mean Liverpool was not playing well for the whole season.
I dont know what is the criteria of a good team for you if you considered Liverpool is a bad team in this season.

With Liverpool's second leg against Atalanta, I think Atalanta will be more confident in the match, especially since they will be playing at home, obviously that makes them more confident or maybe they will be more defensive to defend it.

If someone would tell me that Atalanta will win 3:0 at Anfield, I would call him crazy. One of biggest upsets this season. Ok, Liverpool didn't started with some main players, but in 2nd half even substitutions didn't helped.
